Our thermostat stopped working late in the night on Tuesday and I called to schedule a HVAC repair at 8am Wednesday morning. By 1000 Richard was at our house and had found the issue and quickly repaired it. He was quick, thorough, and professional. Richard made sure we knew how to use our Nest thermostat and made sure there weren’t any other issues with our system. We signed up for regular maintenance with him and couldn’t be happier! Strongly recommend!

Have used Cape Fear since our systems were installed 15 years ago. One of our AC units blew a capacitor yesterday. When I called Cape Fear this morning they were able to send a repairman around lunch time. Rich braved the rain, quickly diagnosed the issue and made the repair quickly. He was personable, knowledgeable, and professional while making our repair.

He was friendly, down to earth and honest. Kept me update on what was going on. He even stayed around a few minutes to ensure it was working properly. When I needed an estimate for a new A/C, Mr. Jeff Nance was a tremendous help with a free estimate and several recommendations. He answered all my questions; very honest and professional. After several other estimates and doing my own research, I went with Cape Fear Air Conditioning, Heating and Electrical; honest, friendly and quality service at a fair price. New A/C unit partially pays for itself. My wife and I are extremely satisfied. No regrets.

There are only 5 stars available on this review. Rich and Ben deserve 10 STARS. After listening to the issue, Ben said he would send Rich out because Rich had more experience with soft start modules. Rich came out and knew what was going on immediately. He fixed the issue in 30 minutes and explained what happened and why. Both of these technicians are welcome back and will be requested by name.

We’ve been using Cape Fear AC & Heating since 1973, so they have installed and upgraded all our equipment. We’ve always had good service technicians, until 2020, when we had Nick (the GOAT!) come to assess our ac/heating unit and complete our maintenance. Once Nick left, I called the company and told them I only wanted him to service our ac/heating unit in the future! Nick is amazing! He has a great personality, great values, is very polite, and is a very efficient and skilled technician! If you use this company, be sure and ask for Nick‼️

Called another major company and 12 hours later never got a call back. Called Cape Fear Air at 8am on a Saturday and an employee was at our house 30 minutes later. Ben was the employee who came and he was super friendly and professional. He explained all of our options for repairing our A.C. and helped us decide what the best solution was. Highly recommend, especially if you can have Ben help you out!

Cape Fear Air Conditioning, Heating, & Electrical Co out and did an initial assessment of our system. They listen to our goals for the system. They provided us several options. There was no hard sales pitch. We were given our options and walked us through the process. When the work crew showed up to do the work, they were very friendly, courteous and cleaned up the site every day. The work was completed in the time specified. While the project was ongoing, the crew answered any questions we had and had the attitude they were working on their own home. Over all, we are very pleased with the service we were provided. Cape Fear did everything they said they were going to and we are very happy with the work completed.

Nick and Justin were on time and very professional. They cleaned, serviced, and repaired 2 AC units at my house. As well as install a smart thermostat. Told us honestly what was needed and not needed, and future recommendations. Will use them again.

I dont write these reviews often but the level of service I received from these guys warrants some public praise. I reached out to have some routine maintenance done to our A/C system. They arrived on time.They were professional, friendly and clearly communicated what was going to be done. During the service they found a serious issue, so I had them give us a quote to replace what needed to be done. The price seemed right, but I decided to get another quote from another company. When the other company arrived the guy was just as professional and friendly. I mentioned that Cape Fear had already given a quote and the guy said oh yeah, I used to work there. Robert is the guy who trained me.EVERY SINGLE TECHNICIAN was just a pleasure to deal with. Great communication. Friendly. I can not give a higher recommendation. If you need A/C work, look no further.

We had our unit installed about a year ago and have been using them for maintenance, but yesterday my thermostat went out randomly. I gave them a call this morning and they were out like 6 hours later and Rich fixed my problem in less than an hour! I am so appreciative of the help and the great service that they’ve given me! There’s nothing like having no AC during the hottest part of the summer, but they’ve taken great care of us.

Having your AC stop working is the pits, fortunately we found Cape Fear a few years ago so we called them today, and someone was at our home within the hour. (We got lucky, however, in the past they have always been prompt.)Richard came out to our home and was able to diagnose the issue, walk us through the repair and explain what we needed to prepare ourselves for in the future regarding the maintenance of our unit. My AC unit went down and my regular maintenance guy didn’t respond so I called cape fear air conditioning. They were at my house within 10 minutes and fixed the AC and gave me some solutions going forward. The service guy Ben was extremely helpful and professional. I’ll be going to them first next time.

I am leaving the original review below. I just want it to highlight how quickly a company can correct an issue if they truly care about their customers. I feel that Cape fear really does take pride in the services that they offer.A technician came and installed a line from our home to our shop. The new box was supposed to power a heat pump and shop equipment. $1800 service and they didn’t even use conduit when they buried the line. Fast forward to today. Another of their technicians comes to hook up the heat pump. He informs me that the wire they used wasn’t rated for the heat pump and they would have to do the job over, at my cost of course. New quote of $5600. Buyer beware.

Cape Fear Heating and Air has been servicing us for the past several years. We have their maintenance package so they come twice a year to service our unit. They have done an excellent job keeping our system running in extremely hot weather, and there is always someone to take your call, even after hours. Weve had an after hours emergency call and they were able to come right away, diagnose and fix the problem very quickly. Peace of mind is what counts in bad weather, and they have been very reliable, accommodating, and most importantly, experts in their field. We even get discounts for being repeat customers and in their maintenance program. We highly value this company. Besides, every employee I have spoken with has been super polite and friendly. Our technician Nick was both extremely knowledgable and great at communicating complex information about our AC unit in an understandable way to a completely un-handy guy like me. My 3 year old unit quit working around 10:00 pm. I called the after hours representative and Cape Fear had a technician, Frank, out the next morning. Frank located the problem and had it repaired within an hour. Frank was very professional and courteous. I have used Cape Fear Heating and Air on our rental properties for the past 4-5 years. They have been very responsive and timely in addressing the issues with the various units. I have purchased 4 A/C units from them, as well.

I hired this business to perform an annual maintenance of air conditioning system and the technician told me I was very low on Freon most likely due to leak and repair would be over $2000. I had another business come out for a second opinion and they said the Freon was good but needed to replace a totally different part which wasn’t even mentioned in the first assessment and the repair ended up costing way less ($400). I called cape fear asking for my money back because the second opinion said it hadn’t even looked like anything was cleaned as it was supposed to have been. Cape fear would not reimburse the full amount but rather about half and said they were charging me for a diagnostic fee but their diagnosis wasn’t even correct. I feel very ripped off and would not use this company again or recommend it to anyone.

Cape Fear Tech Ben came out to look over the source of my non-functioning system He quickly ascertained that my unit was too old to invest in any longer. I called Cape Fear Air on Thursday because of problems with our upstairs unit. I asked for Frank Mashione because he has been doing our annual maintenance for the past few years. Frank came out the next day and I explained what the problem was, he did the diagnostic test and found the motor to be the problem in our outside unit. I was surprised because it was Friday afternoon and right away I thought I would have to wait until Monday but to my surprise Frank called to see if a new motor was in stock and went right then to get it and install it. Have to say, I called two companies prior to CFHVAC, Maurice Phillips Heating and air and Bass Heating and air, Phillips came one day, didn’t fix the problem, charged me 250.00 and said he would be back the next day, never showed wouldn’t answer calls. Bass couldn’t fix the problem said it was an electrical issue, Cape fear came, solved the electrical issue, then Rich came from Cape Fear HVAC came and completely went through my system and fixed everything, very personable, intelligent, and totally repaired and inspected both systems in my house, Highly recommend Cape Fear HVAC for any issues with your heating and air. We hired Cape Fear Air condition to replace our AC unit in our bonus room. Jeff the sales rep is a great used car salesmen and can lie out his behind. He looked at our old unit and took measurements to replace our unit. The technician showed up to replace the unit and they sent the wrong unit. They told us that Jeff ordered the wrong AC unit. Thankfully the technician has scruples and knew he can not cut the truss to fit the AC unit into the wall. Cape Fear AC wanted him to cut it to make it fit and he refused. After several phone calls the proper AC unit showed up. I thought that the sales rep orders the wrong unit? Where did the other unit come from? I feel they tried to slide and lesser unit into my house. The technician was very professional. After he was finished we found out that they will need to have their drywaller come in and patch the wall. They will also need to return and install the proper heating element. I called and ask to speak with the owner but the used salesmen called. I demanded that the owner call me. He did a few days later. I told him about all the BS that was going on and he said he would insure that we will be takin care of. After 2 weeks I received no calls from anyone from the company about the drywall repair or the heater strip. I called and left message that I need this done. They forgot about me and the job they have not finished up. The drywaller finally came and patched the wall. When he was here I requested that the service manager call me because the heater strip still has not been addressed. I never received that call. I did however receive a call the next night from a tech that is on his way to my house to replace the heater strip. Communication is less they expected from this company and is very disappointing. I told the tech that this is unacceptable and that they need to call and make an appointment. I am not home. They finally called and made and appointment to replace the heater strip. The tech came and replaced the strip. When I talked to the company about this they keep saying that they needed to order the parts and they were waiting to receive the part and this is why it took so long. Why did no one call and let me know what was going on?During all this time I have been preparing to move to a different state. The stress, frustration, lack of communication drove both me and my wife to the edge. I went to the office and Jeff the used call salesmen talked with me. I told him that I feel that the bill needs to be addressed due to all the BS from this company. He said he would talk to the manager and call me the next day. I told him no, have the manager call me. As you guessed the manager did not call me buy Jeff called and said that they will take off $220.00 from my bill. WOW they really care about their costumers, NOT ! I may recommend their service to my enemies but I suggest that you take your business elsewhere.

Recently, we called Cape Fear Air with some questions on a small problem with our natural gas furnace and central air systems. Within a short time, and on time Nick, the technician arrived.Nick was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable in evaluating what needed to be done in repairs. He answered all of our questions, concerns and put us at ease. Wwe felt comfortable and confident in his work ethics.It was impressive, when Nick slipped on plastic shoe covers on his shoes each time he entered the house to not track in dirt. I have used Cape Fear for the last five years and they have always been professional and efficient. I cant remember all the technicians names but recently both Frank and Mitchell have been to my house or office and I have been happy with their work. In fact, on the latest visit, Mitchell took a minute from his HVAC work and figured out the problem I was having with my gas log fireplace (which would not stay lit).

Technician (Rusty) came to our home at 1030pm for an emergency call, kept in touch through the ordering process for parts and was very honest and professional during our repairs. He talked us through our options and helped us find the right solution for our AC problem.

Temperatures went below freezing last night and somehow in the early evening, we stopped getting heat. Woke up on Good Friday morning and our inside temp was 50°. Called Cape Fears emergency ph# and kept getting hung up on. Sent them a chat msg and almost immediately, Elvin from CFH&A called and said he was on his way. Yay! Elvin was going to get us heat! And he did! There was no charge associated because the emergency ph line was not working properly and the problem was something the last tech who performed maintenance just one month earlier had missed.Thats what I call excellent customer service! Elvin, the technician, was not only polite and thorough, but explained in detail what he did to get our system corrected. He made sure all my concerns were addressed. Hes the absolute best and an excellent representative of CFH&A.

I called Cape Fear Heating and Air Conditioning because I was having a difficult time with my normal AC/Heating people, had been waiting 6 weeks for someone to come and look and the system they had installed! The receptionist at Cape Fear Heating and Air Conditioning apologized that they couldnt send someone out that day, but would the next day be ok! I was so impressed with the professionalism and courtesy. The next day Cape Fear Heating and Air Conditioning sent out Chris K. He was the best, fixed our heat and did a service. He was very thorough and professional. I am so very happy we finally changed Heating/AC contractors. I have used Cape Fear A/C & Heating since the install of my new A/C unit six years ago. Each time I have service, which is twice a year, the service technician is always on time, professional, and personable. When and if I need a repair they have taken care of it promptly after discussing options and cost with me. I am very happy with Cape Fear A/C and Heating and recommend them to anyone needing service, repair or an estimate for a new unit.

Had a new unit installed a year ago. The tech failed to install a filter into the system. I understand that it is the homeowners job to maintain the filter after the installation but they did not install one during initial installation nor did they inform me that there was no filter in the system. A year later the system becomes clogged due to no filter, they charge me over $200 to unclog then recommend a service because im sure the fins are dirty now after not having a filter in it for over a year. I hired another company to install a HVAC at one of my other rental properties and they were significantly cheaper and informed me to install a filter. I will never do business with Cape Fear HVAC again and I would recommend future customers do your price research.

Dont know how to express, the absolute gratitude to Keith Hilburn and his 2 workers, Justin and Tony. these guys are amazing. they installed a new whole house, box panel, ran additional receptacle lines for me. these guys are pros, at what they do. i had never used Cape Fear Heating A/C and electrical, but rest assured, i will call no one else in the future, as the need arises. Also Kudos, to the office staff, that i had the opportunity to speak to on the phone. All these employesss/associates should be honored for the type work they do and reflect, general concern for what i had was a major project. Came to repair my thermostat because it was not cutting on the heat. He worked hard to find the problem and found out that the problem was the thermostat itself. He was able to put another one in and I had heat. I enjoyed his professional attitude and knowledge of his trade.

Our HVAC went out 24 hours before we were supposed to leave to move to Michigan permanently. I called them in a panic and they got their service technician Jeff Pruett out to our house the same day! Great service all around! I definitely recommend them!! Thanks again!

My wife and I purchased our first home together in July 2020. After the inspection of our HVAC system we were told it was an old unit and probably would need to be replaced soon. The guy who inspected told us to keep it til it went out and that it could last a year or more or could go out anytime. Well it decided to die on us 6 months later. I had no idea who to call or even if it was fixable. So I went online and looked at several air and heat companys and immediately I was drawn to Cape Fear Air and Heat. Their reviews are what made me call and im glad i did. They sent out a repair technichian by the name of Frank who thoroughly checked and diagnosed all the issues with the old system. Being the honest but professional guy he is, told us our unit was so old it wasnt worth i vesting the money to repair it. The unit was 25 years old. After recieving this gut wrenching news we had a field rep come out to our home and give us a free estimate on a new unit. This fellows name was Eric who we had an honor of working with to pick out a new unit that was just right for our home. What i liked most about Eric was he knowledgable about his job and very professional also . 2 days later our unit arrived at our home and was installed by 2 of the hardest working guys ive seen. And in the rain at that. Im forever grateful to you 2 Eddie and Jason for persevering through such a cold nasty rain to make sure the job was done to perfection. Last but not least, Karolina, the receptionist who took my calls was the most polite, and gracious person to talk to. I said all this just to say you guys are awesome!!!! I recommend Juan - installation technician - for his outstanding work ethic, professional knowledge, determination and creative problem solving. He exemplifies what made and still makes this country great. I strongly suggest he receive commendation and pay increase as further incentive to retain him at your company. I am sure he will continue to add great benefit to the organization, and his work is one of the reasons I will continue to choose Cape Fear in a crowded HVAC market of providers.

We shopped around for a system for our home that had never had central heat and air. We received several quotes and options. We felt that Cape Fear provided the best options for us. The entire team from the office staff, to the field rep, to the installation team were outstanding! Andy came out and quoted us the system, Brad Herring, along with Martin and Spencer did a fantastic job installing the system. They took their time and made sure that we had no questions about the operations of the systems before they left. They cleaned up after themselves and just could not have been more professional. I highly recommend this company!
