Please take the overall low rating of this apartment complex seriously. Here’s some things to consider before moving into this place:There’s no secure entries or controlled access to the building. The doors are locked, but most people wedge them open with rocks. One of the front door handles was broken off twice since I’ve been a resident here. The call system is not up to date, so you will have to let people into the building by walking all the way to the doors. Two of my packages have been stolen, I was then forced to open a separate post office box.The management claims there is assigned parking, but people park wherever they please. One of the parking lots was re-done over the fall and all of the parking numbers have washed off from the winter. People also park in front of the building or in the handicapped spots instead of picking a parking spot. The police force is a frequent visitor to these apartments, but I do not think it’s because of the car alarms going off in the middle of the night. I’ve heard plenty of yelling throughout the night, resulting in police arrival. This sometimes occurs in the morning as well, usually with about two or three cop cars. The building claims to be smoke-free but, this would be anything from the truth. Most floor levels either smell of cigarettes or another substance. As a person with asthma who is allergic to cigarette smoke and specifically asked if these apartments were smoke free, this is an annoyance and public health concern.Speaking of public health, trash is littered not only outside of the building, but inside of the building as well. You never know what to expect when walking down the hallways, from trash bags, lose cat litter, dog food, and human food waste. Do not expect a clean and healthy environment to live. The pet policy in this building is not taken seriously. Although signs were once posted and torn down multiple times about pets, most people have them anyway. I provided the management with emotional support animal documentation, and they continue to charge me pet rent (which is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act).Do not expect any quiet hours and a good nights sleep, especially on the weekends. The building is mostly quiet during the weekday, but the weekends tend to stir people up. People will run down the hallways, yell, and come into the buildings at all hours of the night. You can also expect loud music playing throughout the building. If it’s not on your floor, don’t worry you can hear it throughout the hallways.I would recommend saving up any maintenance for the end of your lease. I once put in a maintenance order that took four weeks for them to respond to. I asked them to contact me when they entered my apartment, but they never did. This is because they never made the repairs but marked it as complete. I had to submit a different request a second time for them to do anything. My best advice is to stay away from this complex as best as you can. It is affordable for a reason, people do not care about the building or you. I’ve learned this much and I haven’t even been here for a year. Save up some money and look into renting a nicer property/complex.
Believe what people say, Goldmark is terrible and place one is no different. They are not helpful and they always have a way to make you pay more money or screw you over. Happy to be moving out and to a different management company.
Quiet complex, nice people at the office. No complains :) plus very affordable and great location!
