Urban Plains has been amazing. Maintenance and management has been very responsive, if they dont call you right away you can expect a call back. The apartments themselves are very good on the interior and exterior. Community is also nice. You can tell that Urban Plains has put effort and time into their apartments and I appreciate it.
I relocated from out of state and was unable to preview any apartments directly. Pinehurst apartments in person were even better than what I saw online. They are a great value for all the space you get, super clean and well maintained, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating even though most of my communication was done remotely. I would definitely recommend them if you are relocating. They exceeded my expectations, and that’s saying something.
I have been charged twice for my rent and have been charged a fee for the money being returned because of their automatic payment system. I called the first time they said everything was fine and that we didnt owe anything and now theyre charging an extra 40 dollars after I paid our rent. No one has contacted me back when Ive left messages or emailing them. Wouldnt recommend living here to anyone
My boyfriend and I scheduled to view a specific apartment, but when we got to the office, it was no longer available to view. Fine, whatever. So we agreed to look at another similar unit, just in a different building. We viewed an apartment that had kitchen cabinets that were hanging off, stained, smelly carpets, dirty walls, had only ONE door on the hinges in the entire 3 bed/2 bath apartment (the master bedroom door was just laying on the floor in the middle of the room), and the real kicker was the wall of black mold behind the toilet in the master bath. Not sure how that was acceptable to show regardless of “keeping an open mind” like the leasing agent asked. Glad I viewed it so I know to avoid goldmark.
I put down 2 deposits on 2 different apartments. 1 was cancelled and the other one my co-signer didnt fill out paperwork quick enough so I was denied. So here I am waiting on the $650 refund. No response whatsoever from the guy I was dealing with or Goldmark. This veteran is now homeless while waiting . Thanks Goldmark!! Your reputation is is true among all apartment customers.
My problem was fixed and Im so happy. The fact that you all as a company worked together to make sure everything was fine made my day. Mandy at cooperate is such an angel. She was so nice and she have great customer service and manager skills. I have so much respect for you guys as a company and I will recommend your company to anyone. Thank you so much!
Charged me for 6 hours of cleaning after I cleaned the whole place top to bottom before moving out. Not going to dispute it because I wasnt present during move out and I forgot to take pictures.
I have lived at Parkview Estates Apartments for over 5 years and have rented 2 different apartments from them. The location is great, management is very friendly and professional, and maintenance is fast and efficient when requested. This is a great place to live!
I own numerous rental properties in the Minneapolis area. I am amazed how this company can be rated so highly. About 85 percent of the time I give my tenants 100 percent their deposit back. I do not want an angry former tenant. I have spoken to many people who have rented from Goldmark Property Management and no one has got all their deposit back. Cleaning carpets, changing batteries in smoke detectors, putting a couple of light bulbs in, moderate cleaning, changing drip pans in on stove tops, etc. when people move out is the cost of doing business.
Upon walking thru the apartment and meeting management staff before becoming a resident. I was beyond excited to become a resident of Westcourt! After moving in I’ve learned once your a resident you do not get the same treatment as before you handed in your deposit or monthly rent or so that is how it seems. I saw other reviews out there like mine and thought they were just negative people not wanting new residents to move in, but I’m learning the hard way unfortunately it’s the truth. I understand businesses get busy and some things get overlooked but to continuously have them overlooked each month. Or for them to be marked completed and not be done is absurd! More professional help needs to be sent to management office to allot time for things to get done properly. I’m sure if I was to pay my rent at the rate things are being addressed management would not be happy either! As for the microwave finally being replaced I’m beyond grateful! The tall man and his assistance were super nice. I’ve had encounters with the short man before and they were not as pleasant. Now we actually get treated like real people when seen by the taller maintenance guy now. That feeling is amazing!
Personally; dont ever rent anything strictly from online! You will be totally deceived and given the wrong impression of what you are actually renting. I have not lived in an apartment in over 20 years. Im 65, retired and alone for the first time. I have managed many apartments in my life and I am not sorry to say but I would not recommend the complex I am in. I had to call police my first month here because of domestic violence occurring above me. Im a survivor of domestic violence barely and the husband who was beating his wife right above me has never moved out. My life has been made HELL! by these people ever since I called police. I have had to go to my doctor and have my blood pressure medication increased and PTSD has now been added to my diagnosis. The man upstairs has never left. Is there any way that I can move to a different Goldmark property? PLEASE!!
We just moved in, but so far are enjoying our home with Goldmark. The management team is super friendly and helpful. We knew going into it that the building isnt the newest or fanciest, but it is a decent value for the rent we are paying. Our 2-bedroom is spacious. We are excited to have an assigned parking space and garage. We are also pleased with the buildings location in Fargo.
While I dont think the people that in office for my apartment building are good, the management they provide not so much. I have an issue with my rent going missing 3 times. While the 3rd time it was accounted for, the other 2 times have not. Reciepts for both. The 1st time it was never found, instead it was put toward the next month. So now there is a $710 money that vanished and has not been found. On top of the security is lacking. Ive had my vehicle broken into not long after moving in. Then my laundry was stolen just before this review. Hopefully things improve but I am currently trying get caught up on my past dues so I can move asap
Southpointe is an affordable apartment with a pool, sauna, and fitness room. Southpointe is nearby a bank, grocery store, some restaurants, and a couple hospitals.
Do you like unresponsive management that ignore your attempts for solving issues or answering questions? How about water that doesnt get above luke warm for showering? How about appliances and the laundry units in the building not working for weeks? THEN THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU! Goldmark promises to completely ignore you, because screw you thats why!The neighbors were good people.
Beautiful, quiet, clean, and secure. Great staff. Immaculate on move-in. Best apartment ever!
They had a 3 day evicted from Goldmark almost 2 years ago and I didnt want 2 case manager and now asking for 1700 in rent to give you money or I cant find anything else really like that one too much whatever last time I was there with it unfortunately I dont know what to do with it unfortunately but it seems that they will accept my account on it etc and then as time is right ▶️ and then as hopefully find a place to go and relax
Goldmark gets five stars from me. Professional, responsive, great customer service. Hands down, best management company I have ever worked with.
Loving our experience with them so far
I would give zero stars if I could to these low life crooks. Sorry excuse of an organization.
I am still settling in, and my experience so far has been wonderful! Management has consistently been friendly, helpful, timely, and gone above and beyond to answer my questions or give me information. Likewise, my neighbors have all been welcoming and friendly. Although my move to Twin Oaks was for difficult reasons, my experience here has been amazing and so incredibly positive thanks to the support of strong management and the embrace of this community! I couldnt be happier!
The staff is very inviting and is willing to help you make your move the best. They are more than willing to work things out to improved life as a valued resident, not just a tenant. I will write a longer one later. The Kentwood office and manor has always had GREAT workers and they just keep getting better. The new team is the best by far as well as personable and great to help with anything that they can do for you. The normal maintenance request is fast and done no longer than 3 days as well as pet friendly. There has never been one time that they have not greeted me with openness before any dialogue has occurred. I am grateful, to say the least
Unless you can predict way in to the future I wouldnt recommend renting from this outfit. They expect 60 DAYS notice (in writing) to vacate after your lease is up. I told them months in advance when we would be leaving (just there for work) but since my fiancé didnt it didnt count. 🤦♀️ We moved out March 15th, lease was up March 30th (sent it in writing the final time Feb 23rd) and they claim they cant get it rented until April 25th. I watched alllll the rental websites and our duplex was never listed as available. Super frustrating to be left paying bills for something youre not living in with 0 help on Goldmarks end. To top it off, we moved out in March and wont get our deposit back till mid May sometime but by golly you better pay that rent on time. 😡
They are more than willing to be flexible and work with you about lease terms and any other issues you may be having. There are also very quick to respond. Only reason I am leaving is because Im moving!
Great place so far! We had a horrible experience with Fargo rents after renting from them for 10+ years and decided to move on. We also heard bad things about goldmark but it seems those are past issues theyve fixed! Highly recommend renting from goldmark and avoid fargo rents!
Great value of living space for a good price. Kathe Irish you were so patient with my application process as well as prompt. Can never thank you enough. Keep it up your a bona-fide professional.
As a parent of a college student, I was tremendously appreciative of the expertise, understanding, and sincere concern for the safety and comfort of my daughter by the professionals at Goldmark. We were cared for with friendliness, professionalism and compassion in securing the perfect apartment. They have been attentive and worked to meet our needs, making this transition an easy one for our family!
The apartments are really good with nice amenities, very professional management with the fast response time.
Brittany was fantastic in helping me get my apartment two thumbs up for her I will like to keep conducting my business with her thanks Brittany You are an awesome person
A+ for communication from the first initial inquiry to the final move in day. We worked with Samantha and then Julie at move in day, both provided outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend Lake Crest to anyone looking for a pet friendly place to live.
Lived in Carlton Place apartments for almost 3 years. I had several issues with management over that time, but Ill stick to the one that convinced me to move out and never consider a Goldmark property again.Last winter I was traveling out of state for New Years. I had left my vehicle in my assigned surface parking lot space (my apartment did not come with a garage stall). During the time I was gone Fargo was hit with a large snow storm. Trying to be a thoughtful tenant I emailed the office to inform them that I was out of state and wouldnt be able to move my vehicle for any snow removal crews. I received an email back saying that if I was in my assigned space it should be fine. Naturally when I came back I found that they had had my vehicle towed. I had to spend the day after my vacation getting driven around town and paying over $200 to get my vehicle back. Staff was very unhelpful and not even apologetic about having taken my vehicle from my assigned space. I tried to email some higher ups to get some resolution, but only ever got a generic Thank you for your comments email.I will not even consider renting from Goldmark in the future and would recommend for others to avoid them as well.
Very nice Apartment. My first one but i love it. Its very quiet and peaceful.
In the process of moving (minneapolis to bismark) stopped to visit someone who lives in one of their properties in fargo. I had a small 20 rv towing a small pickup and ended up having to go back to minneapolis. I was told i could park the rv in the persons designated spot in front of their garage for the night as long as i wasnt past the parking lines which i was clear of. As i get back im told my vehicle was towed due to the upcoming snowstorm in which it never actually snowed. So after getting ahold of the management to find where it was towed to (no signs anywhere) i was told the wrong place. Twice. After a day looking i found where it was myself and when i contacted them i was told the reason for tow was blocking a garage door and it was the property manager that called it in. After looking at the lease agreement front to back they had no reason to tow it. It was parked in compliance with the lease terms. They also said they had put a notice and left it for an additional day but i left on the 15th and the tow date was the same.** Now i cant afford this $700 impound fee and lost everything i owned. Had i known right away where it was towed to i would have had a chance to save it.Post some signs of who tows your vehicles and whereGet property managers that know as wellStop lying to residents and/or mis informing themKnow what is in the lease- as it reads - parking of, non motorized, trailers/boats/campers not allowed to be left in lot. (Actual picture of lease coming)My drivable rv wouldnt fall in that either so i cant understand why it was towed. But i know that shady tow yards love places like yours.**updateThe apt never left a notice as they stated in an email to the resident. The email was dated the 14th and towed the 15th(i parked it in front of the garage after my friend left for work at 10:45pm on the 14th and i left shortly after) which would be less than any of the 48 hr limits listed in the lease. Also when i was back there last week i was walking thru the property and found under the snow, a broken sign that states unauthorized vehicles towed at owners expense. Im told the sign hasnt been up since the first time the lot was plowed this winter due to the plow hitting it.Also i just realized this is the same property management company that handles another complex Which i have a review from over a year ago for a similar reason. There are very clear pictures about towing issues on that.
The employees there are not responsible. I am having noise issue for about two months. Ive called the office 4 times. Each time they said they would work on it, then they DISAPPEARED with the PROBLEM NOT BEING SOLVED. One of the most annoying things is that they never followed up and kept me posted with the problem solving status, so I had to call them once in a while, but then they disappear again even though they promised me in the phone that they will call me back!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Great appartment
They still make u use checks what abunch of 1980 boomers
Worst maintenance ever. It always takes me calling multiple times to get something resolved and usually takes forever. Right now the washer in the building has been broken over a month. This doesn’t surprise me as this is the same building that took me three years of complaining to get the dryers replaced. I had to start buying my clothes a size up because they shrunk because the dryers only worked on high heat. The poor maintenance has made me waste so much time and money in the laundry room. I’m so tired of being lied to about things being fixed to just keep having the same issue. I can’t wait to move. I will never live with Goldmark again.
Goldmark is trying to make me pay for the carpet that was recked from a previous tenant as it showed on the lease agreement. They will try anything to take your money. I wouldnt refer to this compamy.
I lived at 3010 7th. St. West and had no issues. Julie is fair and pleasant to work with! Any issues were always handled professionally!
Maintenance and management do a good job here, but the windows in Village Park buildings are the worse Ive ever seen in an apartment building so making your electric bills high when using heat or AC. The side walks and parking lots arent done all the time making them very dangerous to walk on from snow and ice.
Found a great apartment with them!
Dont plan on ever getting a deposit back. Crooks.
I love living here. It is a beautiful 2 bedroom with 2 bath and washer and dryer in unit with a lovely split style. Bedrooms on each side and living room in middle. Huge rooms and storage and garages.Great Patio. So quiet of a building do not at all hear neighbors. Definately recommend moving here.
I used to rent a house through them, maintenance people would show up at least once a week with out notice just to look around. Anytime we had any questions, staff was obnoxiously rude. They would also do really petty things, like put political yard signs on the property with out permission. They made us reapply numerous times so they could get more fees from us, even though our employee or income history had not changed.
It offers the services needed for a tenant within the budget and the expectation
I havent been here long but Eagle Run has made a huge impression already. From the quick and efficient maintenance, to the extremely friendly staff. My son has autism and on Halloween they had a wonderful thing for the kids if they wanted to come in and trick or treat at the office. Adorably decorated, candy, and baked goods. The best part though was their patience, kindness, and understanding with my son who got a little over zealous with the candy...and the fishtank..
Beautiful, luxurious & modern apartment with brand new appliances & features. Secure, Ground level heated garage. Management & Maintenance are great to work with. Residents are very friendly & are considerate neighbors. And most importantly, I always feel safe & well taken care of living in this community.
This company is a total cheap. They even fail to supply heat when ever tenet need. If you want to be a tenet please think twist.
I live at Goldmarks Golden Valley MN, property named Valley View. What a beautiful property. Quiet, clean, spacious living spaces and awesome neighbors. Goldmark really helped us during a financial crisis and we are so thankful! A+ !
I actually had a really good experience with the rental company itself. I believe several of my neighbors might have had drug activity going on which is why I had to move. However, Goldmark itself was never bad. I even got $186 back of my $300 deposit!
Lake crest has always been a great place to live. I lived here for 2 years prior before moving into a townhome, but when it was time to downsize I chose to come back. Had fast results with application and all that jazz and was able to move in with no problems.
Living here at Hunters Run 2 is peaceful. I can walk to the grocery store and am just far enough from interstate to not hear it. The mall is a walk away and so is the movies. The few maintenance issues that I had were small but resolved very quickly.
What I saw is this company doesnt care to its costumers. I read the others comments and found our story is pretty same at checkout process with other customers. This company overcharged us for nothing, which was very disappointing, and I received the deposit refund check after 2 months!! When I called them they said they have mailed the check with no tracking number, and I should follow up with USPS!After 2 months when I finally received the check I found they initially wrote a wrong address on it.
Everything isn’t what it seems. When I first moved in the place was beautiful. As time went on I started to notice things. Like the mold they covered in the bathroom with silicone. The bathroom sink clogged with black tar like substance. The closet doors falling. My 3y/o opened one and it fell. Literally all the closet doors have fallen and I’ve put them back up several times. They just won’t stay up. Maintenance bandaid repair any and everything that needs fixing. Two days after moving in I noticed chipped paint and the carpet lifting. They threw a couple staples in the carpet and I was told they’ll be back to paint the spot that was chipped. Never came back. I’ve been here for a year. It’s a good place to start but not to stay for a long period of time, especially if you have kids. The people in the office is great and understanding. But the maintenance is terrible.
Look no further...Urban Plains has the location, amenities, and floor plans to meet your needs. Their management staff are friendly and helpful. The application process was easy and quick. The move-in walk-thru was thorough and any concerns were addressed. The buildings are modern, clean and well-maintained.
Worst customer service ever. You have to try for days and sometimes even weeks to get ahold of someone. Takes forever when you have a maintenence request to get something fixed. Will not ever rent from this company again or refer any of my friends or family members. And when you have a time sentive matter to try and get a note from your Dr to get your therapy animal approved and after you give them the information they need to send the form to your doctor they wont send it. Worst company and people ever!
I love the management and maintenance when it comes to response but anytime we complain about a neighbor nothing is done! 1 neighbor smokes pot and the smoke comes into my home! They also leave heroin needles all over the place outside and have freaking fist fights in the parking lot!Another neighbor is violent, revs engines at all hours of the day and night, is always drinking and driving, scares my children, and he asks my friends for cocaine and none of my friends and family feel comfortable being here...Another neighbor is always walking around drunk leaving broken bottles and beer cans everywhere and he wears a tiny hotel robe and my children and I have seen his junk on several occassions!!!!They tell us to keep calling the cops or they cannot evict them.We call the cops regularly for many months now and still absolutely nothing is being done to fix any of these problems! I want to leave thos property so badly but I am stuck here till the end of my lease next spring! My kids are not safe, I dont feel safe....I love that none of this is being dealt with but I was threatened to be evicted for having a friend stay with me for a few months!Im so depressed that we are stuck in this property with these awful people...
We live in Bismarck, ND. We have only been in this apartment for 3 months but so far we love it. Double car garage, hookups for our washer & dryer in our apartment, workout room in the same building, & bucket of rock salt in entry for renters to use if needed. They have been very quick to plow the driveways & sanded them. We even got to pick the accent color walls & the management went the extra mile to properly install handicapped handles in the tub for us & a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Excellent management service. We plan on being here for years.
New staff is amazing and we love our apartment! When we first moved in we had problems with the manager telling us we were getting new flooring and other issues were going to be fixed that were not after we signed our lease. BUT recently they have gotten a new manager and a new site team and they are wonderful. They are pleasant, efficient, and truly care about helping out residents. They also recently got new corporate management and Goldmark is now a company that we trust
Think twice about leasing with Gold Mark!! Youll be waiting for a refund on your deposit for 1 month or more!!! And they just give a run around when trying to find out whats going on!! Very poor service!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Being a significant realtor you would think they could have enough importance to clean their parking lots in a timely manner. Yet, it took many days and many complaints before they did anything. As tenants we should not have to go 5 days getting stuck until they finally do something. Shame on them as a supposed honest business.
Complete fraud. They never give back your deposit. Upon move out they tell you that everything is Ok and they charge you a few dollars to make you happy. After two months they send you a cheque of 10 or 20$ and you see they have taken all your deposit by fabricated claims of damages. So you should consider your deposit gone. THEY WILL NOT .GIVE YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. Be careful!! Also they don’t clean the parking in winter carefully. I slipped on ice on their parking lot and broke my hip
Wow!!! I would never rent from this property Management company. I know someone very close to me that came down with covid-19 and end up in quarantine. Well goldmark decided to kick him out of his apartment during this pandemic. I dont understand why they pretend theyre such a great company when they followed no rules pertaining to the rental help during covid-19. they dont care if youre homeless or not they just want their money and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy ever so people beware!!!!!!!
Bad costumer service. The current manager right now is rude. I clean my apartment and the apartment was perfect when I moved out, but they didn’t gave my deposit back to me she said the money was spend on cleaning the apartment. I spend almost 3 hours cleaning it. 👎
UPDATE 6.10.19: The court yard has been picked up and we are now able to use the grass without constantly dodging dog poop. Its obvious who has a dog because of the large brown spots in the grass areas by those patios still.****Original Review*******Urban Plains has great, modern apartments at a very reasonable price. They offer fun community events throughout the year such as a community garage sale, appreciation dinner for tenants, Easter egg hunt. Maintenance usually has issues fixed promptly. We have enjoyed our time at Urban Plains. Its frustrating moving into a place described as pet-free when there at least 3 dogs on my floor and many more I consistently see around the 12 building complex. There is always poop in the grass near our patio because of a neighbors dog. We really have to watch where our kids run and play.
Danbury Apartments are a good starter apartment. It was my boyfriends and my first apartment and overall we are satisfied. For the price range we were looking, it had quite a few extra amenities such as a garage & assigned parking, balcony, vaulted ceilings, and a dishwasher. Management does nice things like planning parties and giving small gifts to residents. They also respond in a timely manner to requests.
If I could give 0 I would. The fact this company feels the need to defend and I use that word loosely, themselves online shows why they are 2.9 rated (as of this posting).
I have been a resident of The Edge for a little over a month and have continuously been impressed by the friendliness of the onsite staff! I have had to request maintenance one time thus far and my request was handled the next day. I would recommend The Edge to anybody in seek of a friendly environment and helpful staff!
Overall, mostly satisfied with the building and the North Sky community. the buldings are kept clean regularly and there are some activities for those who wish to participate. It is a pleasant atmoshere to reside in.
I recently moved into the Urban Plains Apartments. The staff was great, easy to work with, and answered all my questions. The only complaint I had was the walls needed to be touched up and they were able to do that within a week for me.
Ive been able to call Pinehurst Apartments my home for the past four years and I absolutely love it here. Aside from the amazing location (across West Acres Mall at the heart of Fargo), the management and maintenance team here is exceptional. I can’t ask for more!!
Management has always been friendly and quick to resolve a problem, also maintenance is always on time and fixes any issues. I just wish some of the tenants were as accommodating as the management with respect to keeping our building clean. Leaving trash in the hallways or spilling a drink can be easily cleaned by whoever had the accident....just be respectful of others - you arent the only ones living here!
My fiancee and I were very pleased to find such a nice and modern apartment for our growing little family. Monthly rent is way good of a deal for what they have to offer (big garages, parking space wherever, free work out room access, close to the hospital and in a fast developing part of Fargo) We love the fact that rent would not increase on us unexpected throughout the duration of our stay with them. And of course the Goldmark employees ate very pleasant and professional to talk to and work with fast responses). The only downside is we were surprised that our apartment building did not have an elevator given how recently built it was, which can make things a little difficult especially when you live on the 3rd floor and have to carry things up the stairs. But overall, excellent so far although I have only been here 2 months. Will update review if necessary.
I have had no problem with this company other than maybe asking them to fix something twice. However, it always got fixed. Also the deposit thing, well tough luck. If you actually look forward to getting that money back from a rental place good luck. Its usually always money lost once you sign a contract. Why are you relying on money you spent a year ago in the first place? Sure its nice to get something back, but who care if you dont. Just be glad youre not paying for your f****** right then if you didnt have a deposit. Finally, maybe if has something to do with your rental manager. The people at Sheridan Point are awesome and they are very nice to work with.
I have a two great experiences with Goldmark. Both buildings are older but well maintained. I chose the second apartment for the location and price. I need 3 bedrooms in a safe building. Two bathrooms, oversized 2 stall garage and in unit washer and dryer make this a great value.
Great place to live for
The good thing is that mantaince is available few days after request. Also, when you move it, they smile and welcome you very nice. But everything start after you sign the lease. I have lived in my apartment and my experience with them was spectacular. But leasing with Goldmark, lake crest apartment was the biggest mistake I have made. The loop holes are there, make sure things are clear to you before you sign it. I would expect them to be more honest and transparent, but that not what I go from them. I feel really bad for the other residents experiencing the same thing I went through, getting charged for extra month since I decided to move out of there property and the end of my lease. Also, getting charged extra for painting. All I can say, OPEN YOUR EYES. My biggest mistake so far was signing with them.
Good location to stay at, fast maintenance service respond and excellent community to deal with
I love renting from GOLDMARK Properties! I can call them if I have any concerns, or maintenance issues and they are taken care of in little or no time. They take suggestions from renters too, which is great! Staff are always friendly and willing to help if there is a problem.
Rive North Emerald Apartment was excellent choice if anyone looking for stable housing with fair price .Specially for bachelor, this place will offer decent size of room and garage for your needs and I would absolutely recommend this place.
Very happy with my home. I rent at Sheyenne Terrace and the office is always ready and willing to help me out, and to listen!! I get prompt maintenance help with any issues and great follow up from the office that is always seems happy and eager to help.
They forced us out our apartment. We dont feel safe. Pray for us. They crooks for real for real. Never been honest since we signed those papers. Nothing but slumlord actors!
Deerfield is amazing. Kelly and Patrick are very professional and get things done! Nice units !
The staff is really friendly and they answer all my questions I have! The bills are a little confusing the first few months as I just moved in.. On the bright side the location is in a perfect spot in the middle of town and a good price.
I have a lease at Maplewood Apartments. The process from setting up a showing to getting approved was very quick, all within one week and I was able to move in the following week. Unit had minor maintenance issues but was addressed quickly by management. Great amenities and nice landscape throughout the property. Reason for 4 star instead of 5 is that the carpet was badly stained even after being told it was steam cleaned. Its more so because of the previous tenant but due to the stains, it made my unit look very dirty.
I feel sorry for the people at Goldmark because it seems that having to deal with spiteful renters has turned them just as spiteful. I hope they (the employees) get paid very well so that they can afford to drown the hate and animosity they have for the general public into a booze filled rant about all the horrible people they have to deal with. The irony obviously is that we feel the same way which in very general terms is what is wrong with the world today. RENTERS: read every word of the lease, document every conversation with them, take pictures of everything before moving in and be prepared to be let down. Goldmark: get your employees weekly massages, maybe some essential oils in the office and be sure they have good chemical abuse coverage.
Application and moving in was a breeze thanks to Liz of Sheridan Pointe GoldMark. We are loving our newly remodeled 3bed 2 bath at Prairiewood Meadows.
I have had a great experience with the Luxford staff, Stephanie is amazing at responding quickly and Kylie was great moving me in and doing the inspection! Very happy with my place so far!Feb 5: I love living here, rent is very reasonable, they have updated my unit and it is amazing, great walk-in closet space for a efficency. Its walking distance to downtown & also only a 5 min drive to NDSU campus. The management staff is so friendly & I love that the office is so close so I can just have my packages sent there and know they will be safe for when I pick them up.
Firstly, When I had moved into my apartment my assigned garage was not ready as it had someones car inside of it. The manager allowed me access to an empty garage unit to unpack my uhaul, 2 days went by and I discovered all my belongings I had stored in the garage was thrown away I could not locate it inside the dumpsters (I had priceless pictures, trophies and awards along with some childhood possessions) I was never notified that the garage was to be cleaned out nor was I ever notified that my assigned garage was ready!Lastly, My lease agreement was violated when they refused to acknowledge military ship orders for active duty Army. They scheduled my hearing for days after my ship out date. I was slapped with an eviction and rent owed. Any government military contract supersedes any lease agreement. Do you want to settle this or shall I take this to court? Keep in mind, I still have all documents pertaining to active duty ship dates for Active Army enlistment, not National guard.
So, I lived in the Oxford Property back in 2010-2011 and had a great experience. Neighbors were quiet, we only needed maintenance once and it was completed within the week, and we got our full deposit back. My sister then lived in the same building closer to 2015 and had an odd water issue majority of the time she lived there, she had horrible neighbors living above her who fought and stomped every other night, and management tried to take almost half of her deposit from her for things like A standard touch up clean thats charged to all tenants (which is total bull) and an A/C cover (which she didnt have when she moved in), after she scrubbed that place (with me) from head to toe. This just goes to show that as a company, there are pros and cons and it seems to be luck of the draw. I think it has to do less with Goldmark as a whole and more with who happens to be working for the office your building belongs to at the time. I would recommend the Oxford buildings, but be thorough on your check in to be safe.
This company loves to drag their knuckles when it comes to plowing the snow out of the parking lots of their apartment buildings after a snowstorm! If I had a big huge 4x4, it wouldnt matter one bit! Unfortunately, I do not have one and am dependent on them getting the snow plowed out of the parking lot in order for me to drive & get to work! Its like, Hello, this is North Dakota! It does snow here during the winter! If your company isnt prepared to deal with that fact, sell off your apartment complexes to another property management company!
Maintenance was outstanding for the number of units they have. Everyone was always pleasant and polite. Management seems to listen well to repair requests and did so in a timely manner. Enjoy the fact the garage was/is attached for groceries in the winter, etc. etc. Location is great for getting to work in the morning... usually drive down 19th St to 45 Street as the light on 19th and Veterans seems to take forever! :-p Keep up the good work!
First, I had heard so many bad things about Goldmark, I intentionally avoided renting an apartment managed by them. Two weeks after moving in, I received a notification that my apartment building had been taken over by...yep...Goldmark! Now, having been under their management for over two years, I find them to be the best property management company Ive ever dealt with. Service requests, few that they are, responded to and corrected the same or next day! Dont listen to the folks talking them down like I did!!
I have rented from three Goldmark properties out of the eight places Ive lived in Fargo. Each one has asked me to pay more after I move out than my initial security deposit. The first I had my mother and three friends clean for two days, roughly six hours a day after everything was completely moved out. They claimed I owed them another 140 besides my security deposit for cleaning. The second I actually hired a professional cleaning service which cost more than the security deposit once carpet cleaning was taken out. At this point, I was simply experimenting with how greedy they were. Not to my surprise, they wanted another 180 dollars on top of my deposit in checkout. The third time they tried charging me 300 dollars for a broken closet door that I had mentioned and sent pictures of the day after moving in once I started unpacking. They also had the water heater bust and ruin a bunch of things I had stored in the same room as there was almost an inch of water on the floor in this third story apartment. Luckily, I had to run back as I had left to go to a wedding but had forgotten my gift. It took them 2 and a half hours to show up. And the rusty water cost me a few hundred dollars in clothes and random items. Of course they offered no compensation. For comparison, I have gotten at least a portion of every other security deposit from the 5 other non goldmark properties Ive lived in as well as the two Ive lived in, in Colorado. If you are new to renting in the FM area, avoid goldmark if at all possible.
If I could give this a negative rating I would! When I first went to look at the apartment they were so nice and we joked around, sounded like a great place to rent from. Well I guess thats where their joking around came in handy. We were so busy visiting that when it came time to signing the lease and initialing everything, I didnt hear about 60 day notice I had to give before moving out. Which is ridiculous in its self because I signed a lease until the end of July, if I wanted to stay longer I would of signed a new lease!!! Really goldmark get it together! Now Im stuck paying for the month of August there at a place I dont live in plus my new place I moved into! I dont know about you but I dont have that money to throw away. My advice is do NOT RENT from here!
They care about their properties
Convenient location. Culturally diverse. The Neighbors appear to be very nice. Literally down the street from where I go for my physical therapy! The design of the building has been an extreme challenge due to my medical challenges and physical disabilities. There are limited garages available. On-street parking is also limited and inconvenient. the parking lot is restricted also. I asked & was put on the waiting list for the lower level, to be near the laundry room, mailboxes & vehicle. Within months a tenant moved from that level but I was never notified or offered an apartment for that level? After being on the waiting list for more than a year and a half, it was very concerning for me to learn one of the newer tenants already had a garage? Ive had an excellent rental history (20 plus yrs) which is very important to me. That being said, I find it quite troubling, and take it very seriously to be given infractions without the courtesy of an enquiry for minor things. Theres a store and laundromat right across the street. Youre right on the bus stop. I think 3 of them. You are also near Robert St where theres just about everything! The rental office can be friendly or indifferent but usually polite. My experience with Goldmark was friendly, however I have some concern about the honesty of both. The apartments themselves are ok. Not the greatest, not the worst. Theres a playground & an outdoor pool for families, even a couple picnic tables and grill, also a garden area. The area and the location and friendly neighbors make it a nice or decent place to live. The rent is competitive, and the deposit is very reasonable. Better than most. Just beware of expressing any concerns as a tenant if you want things to remain positive or neutral.
I damaged my vehicle in the parking lot of one of their properties. Got the run around and finally told they would not cover the damage. Typical Goldmark, not willing to pay for anything
Worst renting experience of my life. They are nothing but liars and thieves.
