June is highly professional this is my 4th time at Modern nails, she did an amazing job for me, my mother and my daughters. She is extremely skilled and never rushes the service even if she is busy. Would definitely recommend and will go back there again. 👍

The best eyebrows microblading and shading combo you can get. I did my brows couple of years ago and i was a fan. I came to Tammy she reshaped the brows and changed the color now I have prestige eyebrow looking. Very natural and I have lots of components. They do eyelashes as well. The salon is clean and they’re small but great team work. Sweet and progressional. I am very happy

Beware of this scammer! I got a Groupon and made the appointment. Once I got there, one of the 2 asian women approached to me and with an attitude asked me to show her my voucher so I did then, she told me that it would be $40 more. After a brief argument, I told her that I was there to get what I paid for, not to be scammed and left! Needless to say I contacted Groupon to ask for a refund. Do not waste your time and gas going to this skanky place! I should have know better after seeing where they are located at.

I love this place I visiting the area and I had to get my lashes dont us as woman all know we are sensitive when coming to a new salon /spa not in your city or your regular lady - I arrived late for my appointment so I had to wait about 10-15 min not long at all for me being an hour late 😊😊😊 she then started the service putting tape under my lashes which lets me know she knows what shes doing the while prices took about 45- an hour and it was absolutely worth it I enjoyed every minute of being there and even got a pedicure after oh & I tipped well.quality over rules and it was definitely worth the price - I would recommend this place to anyone whos looking for natural looking lashes. Great name to match btw😍😍😍😘😘

Twee is so sweet and really makes sure her customers are getting exactly what they would like. I went in for a full classic set of eyelash extensions and they turned out perfect! Nina did a great job and was efficient and gentle. When I saw the results I was shocked at how well they turned out and I have definitely found my new lash place. 🤩

She does superb work and Im constantly getting compliments on my lashes. I tried a few other lash salons prior to finding Modern Nails and Lashes, Twee is by far the best!!!

I have been to about 5 different places to get eyelash extensions and Twee does the best job BY FAR. She understood exactly the look I wanted and gave me the appropriate lashes to get it. Ive been to other places who have done good work but they take FOREVER. Twee takes MAYBE 45 minutes and the lashes last 3 weeks. Im a very happy customer

Love love love this place! I found them on Groupon. And this is my heaven on earth for my eyelashes. Since the first day I came In I felt very welcomed. I go religiously every 2-3 weeks, even brought my mom in. Natural Nails & Lashes is a great place for nails, but I will say its the absolute BEST place for eyelash extensions in Northern Virginia. My daughter and I have been coming to this salon for almost two years. I highly recommend. Its clean, great products, great customer service, and great prices! The mink eyelash extensions are beautiful and last longer than other shops Ive been too in the past, plus my real eyelashes are still going strong! I have been getting lash extensions for quite some time and recently moved here from out-of-state. You’re reading from the type of girl who has had the same hairdresser for over 15 years. I searched through reviews (nervous to start anew from my loyal lash guy) and found this place! It’s so important for me to have someone who knows what they’re doing when it comes to nails, lashes, etc. It’s also important for me to have a say in my result.I’m lucky to have found this place and trust fully each visit that I will walk away happy. All of my friends and family know it’s a favorite place of mine. I love talking to the owner and she is one of the most brilliant and strong people I know.It’s way more valuable for me to have someone with knowledge, competence, and experience than to have someone who hands you a drink, smiles, laughs, and suffers through it. The spa is supposed to be pleasurable and you should walk away feeling comfortable and looking great. I don’t want to feel like I’m in a cattle call or like everyone is in a perpetual state of training. I don’t want someone to be rough on me or treat me like I’m just another number. I don’t want to feel like someone is nice to my face but talking behind my back. And I definitely don’t want to get stuck with a bad or embarrassing job and have to live with it!I’m not really a groupon/cheapest-place-in-the-area type of person. I care more about my result. Twe is an absolute sweetheart who listens to every request Ive ever made. Shes been great about creating different eyelash looks based on my requests. Been going for quiet some time and I send everyone who asks about my lashes her way.

The appointment lasted 30-45 minutes. My technician was late and brought her daughter with her. She slide in each lash without attaching it to one of my existing lashes. My lashes looked great after the appointment. They were long and thick and I loved the look. They did feel uncomfortable but Ive always found any false lashes to be bothersome. I could not brush through the lashes because of the chunks of glue and multiple lashes glued together. As the lashes have shed these past two weeks they come out in clumps with several natural lashes attached. I have bald patches where this has happened. I finally removed the few larger chunks with an adhesive remover. I have barely any lashes left so I cannot get replacement extensions. I would never recommend this business to anyone.

I went in for eyelash extensions-first time I have ever done it. It took 45 min and I said I wanted them to look natural. I came out with eyelashes so thick and heavy that I could barely keep my eyes open. They were all glued together and were poking my eye lids which was causing a lot of pain. I had to go into another place and it took them an hour and a half to get them all off. The place I went to get them off said they were done badly and I probably had over a 1,000 lashes on. Now I am left with damaged lashes and glue spots I need to use coconut oil for a few days to get off. DO NOT GO HERE!

I brought a groupon to have my lashes done. Making my appointment was easy, as my schedule is always changing. Let me tell you, Twee did an awesome job. That same day I saw her do semi perm. eyebrows. I wanted for a long time to have mine done but didnt trust to many salons to do it. But I had Twee do it and yes they look great. I never have to worry about anyone waxing or threading them wrong again. I have found a salon/person that can meet my beauty needs. I went to Twee after a horrible lash experience in Laurel Md. Twee listened to my story and She did a full set after I let my real lashes grow back from the mess before. She was Amazing! She is the cutest and sweetest professional!Her price are completely fair in my opinion! First set I loved them so much! I did get the upgrade for the additional fee. Just went back a few weeks and I love them even more. 😍 Shes worth the drive and prices are fair!

My experience at this facility was very good. Twee and the other ladies were very friendly and the atmosphere in the salon was very comfortable. Twee did an excellent job on my lash extensions and I love them. I plan on continuing to go back to Twee and get touchups. The facility was also very clean and organized.

I am actually one of the complainers Kimberly is referring to in her last post. I love the end result I get with the lashes and when I originally came in using a Groupon, the owner pitched the mink lashes to me for $30 extra which I ended up getting. At that time I asked if the refills for the mink would be more than $50 every two weeks and was told no. Now this was my third time coming in and previously I had waited 3 weeks and happily paid the $75 for the fill. That was actually on 8/5/17 and I came back on 8/19/17 for my 2 week fill which assumed would be $50 like she told me and like the website states. Kimberly was right, another customer had already complained about the price change before me and like that customer, I would have liked to have known beforehand or during the process that I had to pay more. It was not about paying $10 more it is about a good business practice. If you tell me $50 every two weeks and having that on your website, then that is what I should be charged.The owner did tell me that she had to replace 80-90% of the lashes, which was not true at all because I took care of my lashes and did not want the mangy look I had waiting the 3 weeks for a fill. She also told me she wasnt there the day I got my fill on 8/5/17 to which I showed her my paypal receipt to her to prove to her that she did do my lashes exactly 2 weeks prior. She then told me that $50 is for a basic refill, if this is the case then that should be stated somewhere. I get it, everyone wants to make money but just be upfront and say okay, looking at your lashes right now, Id say roughly $60 for a fill - simple and people will know beforehand.So to conclude, would I recommend this place for lashes? Yes, because the owner does a great job but does need to have better communication with her clients so myself and others dont feel misled when being told a certain price and then getting charged a different price, even if it is only $10 more.

Avoid unless youre desperate. even then, reconsider twice. they changed their name, but their service is still terrible.walked in for my 1pm appointment, theres one person with 2 people and she informs me theyre running behind. appointments dont matter. apparently walk-ins take priority. wasted an hour driving that Ill never get back.also, when I got my nails done there the first (and only) time, she cut my cuticles too deep and they hurt for a couple days. the paint job was ugly; the colors were lovely though. just... no.

I was a little skeptical about going here after reading reviews, but one of my friends went and got eyelash extensions and they looked so good. I told one of my other friends and we called and made appt, I had to cancel last min but my friend still got hers done, she sent me a pic when she was done and I was very jealous because they looked so good. I finally had my eyelash extensions done today, and I am in love with them!!!! They look so good!!! This place is small but very clean actually a lot cleaner from any other nail salon I have gone, its cute, and very updated. I dont understand why people are complaining the service I got was great and my eyelashes look fabulous. I paid extra and got mink and Im very happy I will post pic of my results. :) P.S. My friend loved her eyelashes so much she went back to get nails done and said she liked them so much she will be going back. On another note, They are supper friendly and seemingly sincere! Its ashamed how people have so much hatreds when getting discounts!

I found it to be clean, the staff friendly and Twee did a WONDERFUL job, Im very satisfied and will be returning!!Listen its worth the trip to go, you wont be disappointed and trust me if I didnt think so I would be saying it!

Do not go here for eyelash extensions! Awful customer service, tried the entire time to convince me to get a full set, even by insulting my eyes. But more than that, they apply the lashes too low and they irritate the eyes. They also do not do a patch test for allergies. I have called 2 more salons to remove these lashes and both told me they have had so many clients from this place come to them with the same problem! There are so many better places in Fairfax to get lashes!

Twee is fantastic. I drive all the way from Purcellville to have her do my lashes even though there’s places much closer! She’s the only one that makes them look full. Everywhere else i’ve gone i feel like they only put one layer and can barely notice a difference. She’s also a lot cheaper than the competition!

Ive been going here for YEARS - and the owner gives the best service. Shes very good at what she does and cares very much about her work.

I came to get a mani pedi here and I got fake tips because they recommended it and said it would help my nails grow. My apt took over 4 hours and then my pedi wasn’t well. After a few weeks 2 of my nails broke in half and one got fungus on it. It was bleeding and it hurt so bad. I called and told the manager and said I need to come to take them off because I’m in pain but she told me sorry I don’t have time for you and hung up on me. When I came in to tell her she said oh sorry I didn’t realize that was you, which isn’t an excuse you should treat every customer with respect. So I give this place one star they only have 2 staff and one is new and slow.

I love this place! I dont know whats up with the negative reviews. The staff is always super friendly, the place is clean and relaxing, and they always do an awesome job.

I have had my eyelash extension done and refilled a total of 4 times now, each time has seemed better than the last, difficult to do when the first time got such a positive reaction from everyone in my life. Everyone has said how natural they look and at least one person I work with has gone there after seeing the results.

Thus was the worst experience Ive ever had at a nail salon. My roommate went in on Thursday and they told her she needed an appointment despite the clear walk ins welcome sign. So she called to set up an appointment for the two of us. They didnt pick up, but sent us a text (screenshot included). We described what we needed, she wanted to get a fill for a broken nail and gel over her acrylics. I need my gel acrylics removed for work, and requested they be removed and a manicure done. The employee texted back saying they could have us in at 130. Today we arrived and despite having two appointments, there was only one employee. Fine. Not a big deal. We reiterated what we desired. She had my roommate go first, removing the polish. Then she reshaped my friends nails and shaved down broken nail instead of replacing it. She requested it be replaced, as that was the point of her appointment. The employee said she cant do fills. Then she attempted to charge my roommate for the unwanted reshapement. Meanwhile, my hands have been soaking in the attempt to remove the nails. So she jumps over to me, and scrapes the polish off my acrylics. Then when I ask her to remove the nails she says they dont do that here. So we wasted an hour (a whole hour!) At the place that refused to do what we asked! Do not waste your time or money at a place that cant do basic nail treatment!

THIS PLACE SUCKS. I was pressured into getting mink lash extensions which was nice I guess even though I told her multiple times I didn’t want. It took her only an hour to do them as she rushed through them bc another client was waiting on her. It’s been maybe not even a week and I’ve had 10-12 lashes fall out. Cheap shoddy work. Place is hard to find. The whole experience sucked tbh.

This team is great. They are always attentive, take their time and do high qualty work. Twee, the owner/manager, supervises all work and ensures customer satistaction. The eyelashes are stellar. Twee convinced me how beautiful they would look and Im now addicted. She makes me feel comfortable while she applies the eyelashes, and is delightful. The spa is clean and simple - I love going there.

Went there to have eye lashes extensions. They do look great and the lady was very nice and friendly. The space they have, however, is small and old, the chairs are not comfy and the entire area looks old and not too clean. Also had mani /pedicure. Horrible job. The lady was rude and on the phone. Have to retouch my pedicure since the nailpolish has bubbles on it and looks bad. DONT have your nails here. The extensions.. way too expensive. Another point, you have to pay them with cash!!

They are super nice people! I bought a groupon and Called at the last minute as I was leaving town. Got in the very next day and the service was excellent! Had my lashes a little more than a week and still going strong, thank you. Would still prefer them to be more natural looking and not quite so long and dard. Am wondering if I can get dark brown lashes instead of the black, as I think they would look more natural and blend in better with my light eyebrows and graying hair.

Literally the worst customer service EVER. My sister and I had a Groupon for two gel manicures, so my sister called three times around 11am (they say they open at 10) to make an appointment with them. They didn’t answer any of the three calls, so we decide to just try and and walk-in, cos most nail salons offer walk-ins, right? So we drive 40 min to the nail salon in hopes that they offer walk-ins. We got to the salon and are happy to see that the door says “walk-ins welcome”. We walk in and there are no workers in sight and two other customers waiting. A worker comes out (in her socks) from the back room, answers one of the other customers questions, and then runs back to the back room. My sister and I are left there wondering why she didn’t ask us what we wanted. The other remaining customer is also confused and then goes to the back room doorway to let her know that there are people waiting. The woman then runs back out in her socks and asks how she can help my sister and I. We explain to her that we have a Groupon and want two gel manicures. She tells us that she’s the only one working there and that we needed an appointment (even though the door to the shop says “walk-ins welcome”). We try to explain to her that we called three different times this morning to try and set up and appointment, and nobody answered. She then explained to us that she wasn’t here this morning and she’s the only one working there. Long story short, my sister and I had to refund the Groupon cos we no longer wanted to give this place our business and we left and got our nails done at Act II nail salon at university mall (also in Fairfax). 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. If your shop opens at 10am, you should have someone working, in the shop, at 10am. That’s just how businesses work.

First of all she keep changing the name n number of her adress second every time I go she change the price she say 50% off but then she charge the regular price which is $99 which I pay my first visit n tell other customers thats 50% off.I pay $119 second visit she was going charge me 129 And when I say what since when she say sorry I meant $119she tell different prices to different clients n I was thinking maybe they want different services but no I heard her twice same service different pricesI went there three times three different price I pay she is a lier and will rip you off.

My guess is that theyre trying to distance themselves from poor reviews.I went because I had a Groupon. The experience told me to always, always, always read reviews before buying a deal. This place pulled the bait-and-switch of not providing the services detailed in the deal and changing the conditions of the Groupon. They argued with me about the terms, even calling the owner* to try to tell me why the terms werent as described. And for what its worth, whether I even spoke to the owner is debatable--she claims to have been out of town the day I was there, but Im 100 percent certain that I was told I was speaking to the owner, both by the person doing my pedicure and the person on the phone. Who knows? I recommend avoiding this place.

DO NOT GO THERE!I went there before my wedding. I bough Groupon and though I got a good deal. I call ed them to make an appointment and the lady ended up calling me back three times to reschedule the appointment. She called one telling me to come at 3pm then she called back after 10 min telling me to come at 4pm then she called me back telling me to come at 3:30 even thoug I told them my time frame when I can be available. Finally I went there 5 min early she looks at my eyelashes and stated that the wing eyelashes- basically the flirtatious ends will not be good and I have to pay extra 70$ for the the whole set. She refused to do just the end because she wanted me to pay more pretending I have a baby lashes and it wont look good BUT the whole set that is more expensive should be just fine. I said I dont want to pay extra and if she cannot do just the ends I dont want them at all. She started yelling at me and went back to the car after me telling me I should have not even come here at first place, why did I go there if I dont want to pay extra etc...this was the worst place I have ever been beside it was so empty and no one was there. She was sleeping on one of the pedicure beds when I came in....I WILL NEVER GO THERE AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. DO NOT GO THERE!

I would not recommend this place.I came here last minute with my friend when we thought we would try this place out. When we walked in one of the technicians, Twee, was getting her nails done by the other and said shed be right with us.We were there from 5pm to 7:30 pm. I spent about 45 minutes of my time just sitting around waiting while Twee took someone else to get their eyelashes done without saying anything to me. So after 30-45 minutes of waiting Twee tells the other girl to do my nails after she finishes my friends toes. The tools she used didnt seem to be really cleaned/maintained, but i dont know to be honest. Anyways, I had some leftover acrylics, that i had told them about beforehand, and the girl didnt seem like she knew how to remove it. So she gets Twee from the other client and she comes over and starts peeling them off without soaking or anything because that was faster. I didnt say anything, but i found that a bit harsh. She then proceeds to rush the hell out of the rest of my nails. Overall, the quality of the manicure was fairly poor. The nails were filed pretty uneven/short and a lot of the typical procedures didnt seem to be followed.The Groupon stated that it was 25$ for a gel manicure and she said she would honor that price. Our total came out to $49 without tip. Which i guess is a decent price for a gel mani and a regular pedicure, but for what we got i thought it was way too much. On top of that, she wanted us to pay her by venmo. In hindsight we probably should have spoken up or said something to her when we were there but, it was an uncomfortable situation.It was a fairly sketchy experience and i wouldnt go back.

I first started coming here almost a year ago, when I got a Groupon for a full set of eyelashes that I wanted for an event. Twee did a wonderful job on my lashes, they were absolutely perfect! I have maintained my lash extensions since that first time, getting them filled roughly once a month. I love them and Twee always does such a wonderful job! She also gave me a great deal on microblading my eyebrows and it was the best decision ever! I hardly wear makeup now because my eyebrows and lashes are always perfect, such a huge timesaver! Im in the gym and sweat a lot each day and my lashes and brows hold up perfectly. I got to he appt and waited for 10 munites becaue they have back to back apptI paid for the grkhpkn honnored price which is honestly affordable and alot less than other places. My lashes look supper natual soft and lastig a month before he touch up unlike oher salons i went to fell all in 2 weeks. The lashes are light weight they are so comfortable. Very rude. They do not care about their clients. I purchased a groupon months back and they did a great job with my gel manicure, then I came back again (but this time w/o a groupon) and they also did a decent job. I am disappointed as I was gifted a groupon of theirs for a gel manicure and when I called to schedule an appointment she automatically shut me out saying I won’t accept the groupon because I have been there before. So now I just have an extra groupon laying around if anyone wants it.Shame on you natural nails and lashes.

Friend got them done here, they put them all over her eye lids and went back for a removal and she refused to do what we wanted and then said she would fix them. Very rude. Only kind of fixed them. Would not recomend at all. Go to a place that actually is specifically for eyelashes

One of the worst places Ive been to. I had a bad experience the first time I came in, and decided to give it a second chance. When I came in the second time (with an appointment), the person who could actually do what I wanted was not working that day. I ended up going to posh nails (both times).

When booking the appointment I was told dont worry about showing Groupon that they would honor $119 price. Got there and owner asked for Groupon. Happened to be in my email from weeks ago, so I question whether they would just honor price as I needed to leave and Id pay whatever that was plus the mink lashes cost. I asked about pricing and different, which aggitated owner who ultimately became rude and suggested I was trying to get free services which really offended me. She because very rude about the whole exchange and by the time I went to register to pay she continued with nonsensical explanation as to why she needed to see Groupon. So spent the time searching emails to show. She remarked snarky that oh so convenient for you to show that. By that time I asked what was old and remarked that Id never be back and would tell the several friends that come to not return. Clearly she thinks certain people try not to pay for the subpar service. The glue or condition burned the hell outta my eyes. Never had that happen before. Wont be going back.

I love coming here and recommend to my friends and coworkers when they ask me about my lashes! Last Saturday the owner fit me in to her schedule, which I really appreciated. This is by for and away the best deal for lash extensions. She was running behind which didnt bother me at all because I was just happy I was able to get in. While waiting I heard two other women paying complaining about having to pay extra money ($10) for an already inexpensive extensions (Anywhere else you are going to pay 2x what you are charged here). She explained that she had to use twice as many lashes to get their results. I couldnt believe they were fighting $10...like I said, even with a $10 increase, you still arent coming close to what other places charge. And to the other reviewers, lashes fall out. They grow or if you mess with them too much THEY WILL FALL OUT!Then I heard someone come in, while I was in the back, asking to trade in her two shellac manicures for one pedicure (bought on Groupon). They said they couldnt do that and only then did this woman fly off the handle. She mentioned that last time she was there she got a severe infection from her manicure. My question would have been If thats true, why are you coming back for a pedicure?. She was so angry and said she would ruin the business with a bad review. I personally dont think she got an infection but just wanted what she wanted and didnt get it so she was ticked. The owner also asked why she never made her aware, to me thats a valid question. Hearing all of these rude people come in made me want even more to write a long overdue review. People are so entitled, it really is sad how customers will treat small businesses.

I have had the worst service all my lashes fell off after coming here I hate this place I will not be returning! Good luck with this place!

AWFUL!The place is a hole in the wall and the prior reviews are 100% correct - this is an UNPROFESSIONAL place and the lady - if I can call her that - will try to upsell and argue with you. I have never experienced a more rude customer service.Same story as with the other customers who posted reviews - she said the flirtatious end will not look good and told me to pay $100 (in cash) more to get the mink full set. I insisted I did not want a full set as my lashes are actually quite long on their own and she did the flirtatious end and it was all crooked, looked HORRIBLE and my lids were paining when I blinked. Needless to say she did a chop job and that the lashes she glued were uneven and not straight and I had a hard time removing them ...My advise - dont go there. This place is not worth going to even if they give their services for FREE.It is sad to see small businesses like these that post deals on Groupon and whose owners resent you for expecting good service as if you forced them to put the deal on. These are people with poor business skills who simply dont understand that Groupon is an excellent way to get free marketing for your business and that they should be PARTICULARLY attentive to the Groupon customers as only good service would bring them back. Instead they look at Groupon as a clearance place and treat their customers with resentment which ensures that they never come back. These people should just not run businesses as they are a waste of time and money for everyone else. And this place is no exception.

I bought this last year to use for my wedding. But there was just one option and it was for full lashes or the wings for the $59. I made an apt, told them i had the groupon and went in to get my lashes for my wedding. I was super excited, and when I went in I told them I wanted them really long and full so that i didnt need mascara on my wedding day. She made them look great but then when I gave her the groupon to pay she told me that groupon had made a mistake and that the groupon was only for the wings and didnt cover the full lashes I had just had done. #1 this is not my fault i bought a deal and thought it was good for either treatment #2 It is not my fault they didnt catch the mistake before they went out and people were allowed to buy them #3 They knew I was using a groupon and should have told me this before hand.Long story short she wanted me to pay an additional $100 for the lashes. I told her I was not going to do that (and now seeing they are offering full lashes for $99, I am angry and feel like she was trying to take advantage of the situation. I ended up paying an additional $80 out of pocket. So basically I paid $140 for something i was under the impression would cost $59. I would be very careful because I am sure I am not the only person they have done this to.As far as the lashes went, they looked great, but as they started to grow out (on our honeymoon) they became very painful. The glue was very harsh, and i ended up going to a salon on our honeymoon to see about having them removed and I was told that they were not put on correctly. They said they were put in in clumps and that should never happen. When they took them off, sure enough the lashes would come off in groups of 3-5. They do look great at first but i would beware of this salon

This place doesnt even deserve the one star I gave them. I bought a groupon and the terms and conditions on the groupon site was that I must call, make an appointment and mention I had a groupon. I did just that. I wanted to have my eyelashes done on 12/31 and new if I had any chance of being seen on that day. Unfortunately when I called I was refused an appointment. I asked why and the lady on the phone( called herself Thuy) said because if I made my appointment in advance I would risk not showing up. I tried to reassure her I would show up but was still refused an appointment. Even though it is not stated anywhere on the website I only allowed to book an appointment.I told her the only thing I can do is ask for a refund from groupon, at that point she became very upset and started yelling at me calling me a bully and said I was threatening her.I asked to speak to manager and she stated she (thuy) was the manager. I was so frustrated at that point, I have never been treated like that from any legitimate business.

Would never go back....

I called to make an appointment for microblading my eyebrows, but the lady who answered the phone informed me that they dont use the bio- organic form for groupon price. They only use the synthetic form of ink which is not good. If they dont use the same ink, than it is false advertisement!
