Brittish is amazing!!! Her technique is precise and beautiful! Her attention to detail and customer service is why Ive been going there for the past year.
I was thrilled to find a black owned shop not far from my home. Unfortunately, that excitement soon faded after arriving to my appointment. As a first time customer, I was pleased with the cleanliness of the salon but I was underwhelmed with the greeting I received when I arrived. Secondly, I waited almost 30 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment time to be serviced (28 minutes to be exact) without any apologies. The service that I received is not the service I requested at booking which in the end was fine with me since that meant spending less money than anticipated. The seating was not comfortable. My technician wasnt rude but she also wasnt exactly personable - not a how are you; how did you hear about us...nothing....zero conversation. There are no fans to help dry your feet with regular polish. The young lady sprayed some quick dry spray on my feet and sent me on my way. I asked about dry time and if I would be ok driving home - she said yes just be careful. I was very careful however, when I got home, I noticed that the polish dried with a textured (non smooth) finish, which I did not like or want. This was a highly disappointing experience. I will not be returning and unfortunately would not recommend this salon to any of my friends or family.
I was ecstatic to be referred to a black-owned salon near me. I was impressed by the scheduling tool which I used to schedule an appointment for both my Mother and I. It required a debit/credit card to make the appointment. We waited in great anticipation [for little over a month] for our first professional mani/pedi of the Spring. Within a few days of the appointment, we each received three separate text messages requiring confirmations of our scheduled appointments. My mother’s appointment was immediately following mine.We arrived [on time] and did not receive a greeting; from either of the two technicians. After sitting, in silence for ten minutes, I inquired which tech was the owner (with whom we’d scheduled). When British responded, I inquired when I could expect my service to begin. She implied that she was finishing her current client and soon disappeared into the back of the salon. When she returned [about five minutes later] she directed me to a chair (with freshly drawn water in front of it) & asked that I pick a color.About 27 minutes after the start of my appointment, my feet are finally in water. However, British still had not finished applying the gel overlay to the client at her station. After waiting another 13 minutes, with no further communication from British, I dried my feet and explained that I am willing to pay our cancellation fees rather than continue to wait. I shared my disappointment with her lack of professionalism, her mismanagement of time and the absence cordiality. Brittany looked up & acknowledged that I wouldn’t be charged as I left.If you’re running behind, you can communicate this using the information gathered by your scheduling tool. I was saddened that British hasn’t chosen to call or text to attempt to reclaim potential clients. This speaks volumes! If the owner doesn’t care enough to do better than that, there’s little hope that her technicians will. As such, I will absolutely NOT recommend Buff n Blush Studio. If it weren’t required, I wouldn’t have given the singular star. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t leave this well-deserved review.
Very professional & positive environment. Plus my nails came out wonderfully. All thanks to Miss Mya. Will definitely be back!
Very pretty decor. Uncomfortable set up for a pedicure.. portable pedi tubs & foot rest with wheels that moved the entire time causing me to have leg cramps. No nail dryers for regular polish so my nails were ruined b4 I got home even though I waited a while. Extremely poor quality pedicure. The water was cold & it didn’t even last 4 days. I wasted 3hrs and $75 +20% tip. So close to home & Black owned. I thought I had finally found a really nice nail shop for me & my daughter. #Disappointed big time.
Ive gone to British for almost 10 years, maybe longer. Shes a highly skilled nail technician. The products she uses are the best professional products on the market. My nails always look beautiful and last until my next appointment. Her space is comfortable and beautiful as well:)
I have been going to this studio for only a couple of months. I love the ambiance and the owner who does all her own work is amazing. She is very knowledgeable in her craft. Its one on one personal care.
Very clean location. Was excited to try because I only lived a few blocks away. However, the quality of my no chip manicure was poor I will never be returning. Polish was put in sloppy, and chipped in 2-3 days like wow. It was by far the worse manicure I ever got I rather go to a nail shop I’m sorry. Also, I had to wait 22 mins past my scheduled appt time.
Love the owner British who is a great nail stylish and make up.artist. I love being able to make an appoinment. Just a great place.
Professional and friendly!
