I can’t say enough about how great this gym has been! I feel completely comfortable working out in the weight room here. It’s well equipped, and the layout is such that you don’t feel like you’re on a stage in front of everyone. After some not-so-great experiences at other gyms in the area, I am so SO glad I gave In Shape a shot! I’d recommend this place to any other women looking to get into weightlifting who are nervous about it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, it’s never too busy, there isn’t crazy “bro bro energy” (if you know what I mean), and the space is kept clean. Best gym in Eugene in my book.

Such a great place! Im so glad I finally decided to join after being on the fence for years. Ive been a member at most places in town over the past 25 years including the DAC and Id say In Shape club(and lockeroom) is the cleanest by quite a bit.. in fact whenever Im there the staff is walking around keeping things impeccable. I spend most of my time on the treadmill but all of the equipment Ive used so far is solid and high quality. Id definitely highly recommend.

Great gym! Nice and quiet, never too busy, you dont have to hustle to get your turn on a machine like a lot of big box gyms. Very clean, super friendly staff, and my wife and I loved that we were able to get a great short-term rate since were not in Eugene on a permanent basis. Some of the equipment is a bit older vs. say a club/gym in a big city, but everything is very well cared for! Would definitely recommend, and the bike racks are much appreciated.

1 star rating due to the fact that they have a typical forced pay membership model, and charge you regardless of if you move away or not (this happened to me). Yes, I know I signed a contract. Its okay though really, because it has steered me towards modern gyms that offer a number of membership options, including month to month. Thank you for opening my eyes, In Shape Athletic Club! :)

During the pandemic they continued to bill me each month - even after I requested a cancellation.I sent a contact form in through the website and left voicemail messages but never heard back from anyone.This business simply continued billing me month after month. When I mentioned cancelling, they denied ever hearing from me or receiving my messages.The responsibility was on them to get back to me, nobody did.They just kept billing me month after month. Even when they were admittedly closed -Hello community, we wanted to reach out and let you know that we are temporarily closed due to COVID-19 and look forward to reopening our doors once it is safe for our membersI requested cancellation the month prior. I dont feel that its okay to bill for literally nothing at all. Nobody can even enter the gym. I asked for a refund, which was denied.These are difficult times for everyone, and they decided to take advantage. I dont feel that was the right thing to do during a global pandemic.Update: Everyone please notice that in their response below they dont address or deny any of my statements above. They cant. Instead, they simply come after me and attack me as a person - as if I werent actually a member of their gym. Thats ridiculous. Think about it - would some random stranger that was never a member of your gym pick you out oof a hat and then take the time to write a detailed negative review about your business for no reason? Thats actually a ridiculous position youre taking. What a terrible response. Whats also scary is you took the time to look up my personal information you have on file in your system (which include my name, address, phone number, credit card info etc.) because I wrote an honest review about your shady business practices. Do you not destroy the private information of past gym members? Are you keeping my personal information on file for any reason? Why would you not delete it? Do you keep that information stored securely? I bet you dont.Keep digging that hole, we can all see what youre doing.

In Shape has an amazing staff and everything you need in a club to get in a good workout. The owner and the child care staff go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. We were new to Eugene and the In Shape child care staff has made it possible for me to stay on a good workout routine, while having peace of mind knowing my children are in good hands with loving professionals. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is considering a membership and even more so to parents wanting to get back in the gym. I am a better mom because I start every day with my workout at the gym and my kids are burning energy playing and doing crafts with the staff.

I think this place is great. Great atmosphere. Laid back and friendly. All the equipment you need both in the cardiovascular aerobic area and the weight room which is big with lots of equipment. I dont do the classes but they seem to be good and well-attended. The place is never too busy or full. Just a very relaxing and easy place to work out. Lots of tv screens for those who like to watch while using the aerobics. Great staff. I have only good things to say about this club. The fees are very reasonable and there are many different plan options to choose from. Straightforward, clear, and convenient.

Perfect neighborhood gym. The people come here to work out and do their thing. Its never overly crowded. The atmosphere is focused on fitness, and thats what Im looking for!

Very uncomfortable atmosphere. We dropped in because we were driving through town. The place is so quite that if you move everyone looks at you like you are invading their space. The man at the front counter was very nice but that is the only good thing that I can say.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! SHADY COERCION WITH ANNUAL CONTRACTS BECOMING MONTH-TO-MONTH WITH NO NOTIFICATION! BLAME CASE ON THIRD PARTY CARD SERVICERThis is negative feedback strictly concerning my recent upsetting experience with this gyms attitude and policies towards membership agreements. I signed a 12 month, month to month contract with them on 3/15/2017 for $38 a month with first and last months payment as a downpayment on that date.Upon reviewing my bank statement this week of 1/2019 it was brought to light that charges are still being debited against my account for the $38 a month. There has been no notification to me that this is occurring, other than the payments being directly withdrawn. No annual summary, no receipt of any kind. There has been absolutely no outreach from the gym or their billing department in any capacity to inform me of my continued charges except their continued monthly debiting.After speaking with a rep on the phone I was told my contract was month to month. This left me wondering if I could have misremembered signing a contract for 12 months? Signing an open ended contract and forgetting about it is not the sort of mistake I make as the owner of a successful local medical clinic and a doctor.When I returned today I was furnished with a copy of my contract with very confusing wording. On the document in clear bold font is our agreement to a 12 MONTH CONTRACT, written in and clearly stating this is not a month to month program. In small language near the bottom right of the contract are several small highlighted boxes. Upon signing my contract THESE WERE INDICATED BY THE PERSON WHO REGISTERED ME AS MANDATORY TO MY SIGN UP PROCESS.One of these is a Roll Over box. This gives them the right to turn your annual contract (which was clearly stated in the contract as not month to month) into a month to month contract with NO NOTIFICATION to you. No annual receipts, no monthly receipts, no notice of withdrawal, no indication whatsoever except making sure you scrutinize your banks statement. I take ownership of the fact I did not check my bank statements so thoroughly for charges from this company, but I did NOT expect my annual contract to become a month to month with my consent or notification.When I was getting this cleared up with the young man working behind the counter today, he informed me that the reason why there is no receipt of withdrawal or annual receipt is because their card processing service is a third party entity and that they cannot control what they do. This feels like a weak excuse. When I was cancelling my month to month contract, it was indicated that I had not been at the gym 3 months or more when the reality was closer to 14 months. No effort to document or understand my experience was made.I feel incredibly misled that I was not informed that option is voluntary and not mandatory and I certainly wish I had been informed that there would be NO annual renewal information and NO notification that my account type had changed. I would have taken my business elsewhere.At this point I have not used their services for an estimated 13-14 months. There was no resolution, there was no explanation given for why I was misled. There was no interest in helping me understand why they do not have a third party seller that offers receipts, the whole experience was terrible.All in all I am out approximately $342.I always try to spend my dollar locally in contract to with a chain, but I will be taking any future business to a chain where the membership contracts are backed up by a corporate entity. My mother and father has been members at this gym for a decade and will be terminating their memberships as well.This was not a gym membership I forgot about, this was a 12 month contract agreement as stated at the top of the agreement that was designed to allow a participant to be coerced into automatic monthly payments with NO NOTIFICATION.If you choose to patronize this business do so at your own risk!

Superb group fitness-much better than other gyms in town Ive tried. Why? The instructors are doing all new stuff and you feel you are getting it all--incorporating all the recommended cardio/strength/flexibility/plyometrics. Good times and lots of variety, attended by men and women. Julie rocks. I lost 3 pounds in a week just by doing her HIIT/cardio classes. The early morning yoga was really good too. The cardio dance is so fun people go out and buy the specific shoes just for it. Lots of smiles around here. Front desk is always welcoming. Plenty of cardio equipment and a large weight room. Im in my 50s and feel very comfortable here and am getting in great shape. Lots of young energy too--its amazing to watch how the younger people challenge themselves but there are older people here too in terrific shape. For many folks here its a work in progress but the right atmosphere for helping them on their way.

Nice friendly gym. I havent been a member for a while but wish they had free wifi for streaming devices. I liked to watch Netflix while cardio machines but data plans cant handle that 3 or 4 times a week! Ill be renewing my membership soon. I really like the place. The locker room layout is odd but they obviously didnt have many options. Can be awkward when busy and trying to take a shower.
