Nice pool and jacuzzi, steam room and sauna thats what I really love about health clubs like this. After a workout and you hit all of those things. Take a shower and feel like a million bucks when you get out.
As a senior citizen I am impressed with Oakway’s commitment to providing quality classes to senior citizens. The teachers are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about providing quality classes. A newer teacher of the Silver Sneakers classes, Robert, is particularly fun.
Was easy to sign up for membership through medicare silver sneakers. The facility is will run, clean, and has all the equipment I would ever need and then some. Nice pool too.
This is the best gym that Ive ever been a member and Ive been to lots of gyms! Many options with cardio equipment, weights, pool, sauna, steam room, etc. My fave is the group fitness classes, including step, piyo, and water aerobics. What set this gym apart from the rest was the welcome that I received from the very beginning. The front desk gal addressed me by name every morning. The instructors noticed new faces in class and introduced themselves. I felt like I was actually part of a club, rather than just working out at a gym. Ive been a member here for 7 years.
After leaving 3 voicemails during the pandemic closure to cancel, we were charged fully to renew a yearly membership once they reopened. (Possibly excusable, it was a crazy time and Im sure they had a lot to deal with) but...After they reopened and we were charged, I asked in person, twice, and once over the phone to have the charges reversed, including providing the call logs showing when Id left messages over and over to cancel - they wont refund. So, we were charged $165 for a membership I tried repeatedly to cancel. Not cool.
Great place to unwind after a long day, swimming for full body workout, then relax in a hot tub 😊 one could never be in a bad mood after leaving oakway.
3 Gym Locations in a 10 mile Radius is a great way to not get bored this summer! Hot tubs, Pools, Bar, Lounge Areas, and Free Weight Facilities + Varying Classes for everyone. Well worth the expense!
The staff is always nice and welcoming, the gym goers are extremely friendly and respectful as well. For the small size of the gym they do a good job packing in pretty much all of the equipment I could want. (April and Deedee are the best 😊)
I really like this place. I like all the classes they have
I have been a member of Oakway for many, many years. I love the instructors and the camaraderie of the members. The change over to Elements has been seamless and a positive experience for me. I love the additional classes, pre-pandemic, amazing and supportive instructors. Initially, I had no interest in going to any of the other clubs, just Oakway. The pandemic forced my hand and I experienced the Springfield location and enjoyed it. I have found myself stretching and trying different classes that the clubs are offering. Oakway has offered me a wonderful group of friends that I will always cherish. I love Oakway and acclimated to the changes as they occurred such as going coed. It turned out ok, even tho I was pretty skeptical about it since the pool and steam room was a huge draw for me on certain days. All in all, I can’t imagine choosing to go to any other club in town. Elements at Oakway is the place that I prefer to go and it’s definitely the spot that I mention to others when asked. Great staff, fabulous classes, friendly members, nice facility, and easy parking ~ couldn’t ask for anything more. Debi
Great gym for an unbeatable price. Staff is friendly and helpful. The weight room has all the essentials. The crossfit/HIIT room is worth the price of membership alone. Everything in the gym is continuously cleaned throughout the day. Ive been to a lot of gyms and this one is one of the best.
Used to be a great place but the management insists on playing his tinny techno music. 5 people asked him to turn it down and his response was to turn it up .Unfortunately many of us are dropping out for better customer service The ladies at the front are usually pleasant but no one is going to turn off that loud disruptive music Its not a good way to run a business.
$10 drop in, great weight and cardio room plus hot tub, sauna, and showers.
We are recent members to the Elements Health Club in Springfield. So far we enjoy the facility. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Pros: The club provides amenities that other gyms do not; i.e. workout towels and shower towels, a water massage table, outdoor pools with gazebo & lounge chairs, racket ball courts that converts into other sports like ping pong. In the ladies bathroom there is a small room with exercise equipment for those who prefer a more private setting. There is also a sauna or steam room, although they not in use due to pandemic restrictions. We like that no loud music is blasting in your ears in the workout rooms, allowing one to concentrate on their exercise in peace. The club is kept clean, supplies always filled for wiping down the machines before and after a workout. There are group classes for yoga, etc., and other workout rooms for advance training. Cons: although there are enough exercise machines for the amount of members, the machines could use a little more TLC; i.e. lubricating parts that stick or are rusty, and more maintenance on the machines in the cardio room. With all that said, we are thankful for this club, its location, and enjoy it very much. We would highly recommend it to those who have the same workout needs as ours. We wish Elements Health Club in Springfield much success.
Man oh man, good price even just for pool and hot tub, they got a 1 week membership as well, try and you will like!
Great staff, nice locker room, plenty of treadmills in excellent condition.
Great people. Great staff.
Some of the employees just dont have appropriate job training. It is confusion and they cant answer simple questions. Before changing from Oakway Fitness, I was a member for about 20 years. Loved it. Now, I dont go because it is not for me. I joined another gym.
I have been to the club at several different times during the week. It’s always clean, the staff are friendly, and the members are respectful.
I use water aerobics. With Covid the # of people in pool is supposed to be limited. We notice M, W, F there are more people than limited. The instructor says nothing letting more and more people in the pool.We need to be 6 apart but were not.
This place is great to workout at! It’s clean and has all the equipment I need. The staff is super friendly as well. When I don’t feel motivated to workout out on my Own then I’ll take one of their many great classes. They are all great but Kristina’s classes are my favorite.
Nice people patronize and work here. Unfortunately, property management, especially deferred maintenance is not in their vocabulary. There is always something out of order and they love to close for extended week-ends whenever there is a holiday. I have been gone recently for a few weeks and when I came back there were still some of the same items out of order. Clothes spinner, sauna, shower door missing, whirlpool all out of order.Update 1 / 25 / 2019 Kris Christensen, owner and general manager, today approached the jacuzzi and said get out. Kris didnt say we need to clean the jacuzzi and we apologize for any inconvenience. Just get out.Khris looks very unhealthy and stressed out.
Mens bathroom be nasty🤢
The staff was very helpful and the gym was nice and clean.
Put a huge speaker upstairs Playing god awful music and is just not a quiet place to workout anymore. I used to work here a couple of summers ago and it has gone downhill. Management is trash and the new owners are no where to be found. They put covid for my reason to cancel which is false. I would suggest other gyms first.
NEWS DECEMBER 23, 2020Colorado study finds no link between gyms and coronavirus outbreaksThe results were clearA new study out of Colorado discovered that gym attendance has not been linked to any COVID-19 outbreaks in the state. The news comes as lockdown restrictions implemented by state and local officials across the country have resulted in gym operators having to close their doors for weeks and months on end in order to stop the spread of the virus. The study was commissioned by the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association, after it said in October that its data showed only 1,155 cases of COVID-19 resulted from more than 49 million gym check-ins, or 0.0023%, the Denver Post reported. The organization then asked the Oregon Consulting Group, based out of the University of Oregon, to conduct an independent study to confirm or refute their findings. The results were clearThe group analyzed gym attendance data against outbreak statistics provided by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment over a span of 32 from March 13 through October 15.What they found was quite remarkable: Out of the nearly 8.5 million health club check-ins, none could be linked to the 59 outbreaks reported by the CDPHE. Outbreaks are events in which two or more people report that they contracted the virus.Based on Colorado data as a proxy, there is no correlation between health club visits and COVID-19 cases, the study concluded, adding, relative to other public spaces like restaurants and bars, health and fitness facilities are lower risk environments. The group noted it is possible that safety protocols and sanitation practices implemented by gyms may be a contributing factor in the results. What else?Based on the data, the consulting group is recommending that state and local leaders evaluate the data before barring entrance to health clubs within their jurisdiction. If we look at Colorados record of self-reported outbreak ... gyms havent made the list up to this point, but bars and restaurants certainly have, said OCG President Callum Kuo.We need to be reasonable and critical when it comes to evaluating relative risk. And based on what we see in Colorado, gyms do not belong in the same risk category as bars and restaurants, he explained. We believe states need to examine their data more closely before hastily closing down gyms and instead making decisions based on what they are seeing in their respective states. To the CDPHEs credit the most recent mandated closures exempted health and fitness centers. We have been talking to stakeholders, and we do not feel this is one of the higher risk settings because people are wearing masks at the gym. Gyms are ensuring social distancing and also cleaning their equipment. So we are comfortable allowing it, said the departments executive director Jill Ryan.
Not too busy, lots of equipment.
This gym has a two-faced approach to following local health regulations. Visibly in the first floor entrance, they will scan your temperature and display a sign stating masks must be worn indoors. However there is zero enforcement and people are free to do as they wish in the exercise areas upstairs. Over time Ive noticed the level of non-compliant behavior steadily increase from some folks not covering their nose, to wearing their mask like a chin strap, or flat out taking it off in the exercise room. The three separate occasions I have voiced my concerns about this, members of the staff have given me a response along the lines of Yes many people have come down to talk to us about this. Ill forward your concerns to management. If you are at risk or in close contact with someone who is at risk, Id highly advise against coming here.
Horrible customer experience. The Gym manager Tyler was rude and combative when all we were trying to do was cancel our membership. They wanted to take extra Billings charges after we had asked to politely asked to stop billing us weeks after we had originally contacted them about billing. Don’t come here.
I recommend this gym if you are interested in their classes. The machine rooms are a bit awkward in their layout. When I had to cancel my membership, there was a clerical error and I was overcharged. Their customer service was ethical, helpful, and professional and helped sort the issue without giving me a hard time.
So happy the pool is open again.
Very bad experience here, I suspended my membership for four months and then they charged me in the third month itself telling me the person at the front desk had set it up that way, its not there fault as the person has left them. They didnt give me a refund saying corporate doesnt allow that so I just canceled my membership. These guys dont deserve your money especially during a pandemic
The employees make this place what it is. A straightforward excellent community gym.
Sadly, I am ending my membership after more than twenty years. Too many patrons do not understand that the nose is a breathing passage and, when it is not covered, it is same as not wearing a mask.Today, I politely asked a man to cover his nose and he accosted me in the hallway and his words and body language threatened physical harm. Staff seemed not to care. Therefore, if health is not a top priority, then Elements is not for me.
Im a former member who moved away but visit periodically. As a current member of a local gym, I am able to use the facilities at a reduced rate. Best hot tub/spa Ive used and a nice pool, too.
I’ve been going to this gym since 2006 while I was in college even though I had access to the University of Oregon’s gym I’ve always loved the feeling of an upscale building and great location. I find their equipment great, even though they just upgraded it. The staff are friendly and personable, definitely not rude or dismissive which has also kept me there. They have four large rooms for different purposes. The pool, sauna and hot tub are great. I have no complaints or wouldn’t have been a member for so long. In the evening the workout rooms are less crowded. I think the workout spaces are plenty large enough.
This gym is for older people! The location is great and they have a big sauna and nice pool but the gym it self is tiny and super outdated. They have just the basic equipment from the 70s seem like. The workout/ dance studio is huge but it seems to never be available for the workouts.
And theyre open for business, walk in, wet room is open, the sauna and the steam room wont be open for a couple of weeks, great place.
Really nice place to work out. Its a little pricier than most gyms, but well worth it. Offers coed and gender specific options. In a upscale neighborhood. 5 ⭐
Its a smaller club with a mostly older members which makes it comfortable to seniors. It has a variety of maintained equipment. Ive been going there for 4 or 5 yrs. And plan to stay. About a year ago the club went to different management. Sadly, its gone downhill. In the past if the pool area had a problem it was fixed immediately. The hot tube has ongoing problems and is not as clean. The steamroon and sauna were each broken for a time last year. The water in the hot tube is not changed as often as before and the mens locker area needs some shinning. But I like it there and plan to remain a member. I hope to see some of the problems taken care of. Thanks
First of all, I can’t say that I took full advantage of the different things that this gym has to offer (classes, pool, etc.) My experience solely relates to the price, location, and space. At a fairly reasonable price, I wasn’t exactly disappointed... but I wasn’t in love with this gym either. It fulfilled my basic needs but there were things that I wasn’t entirely fond of.There are two separate rooms for men and women to work out in. While some people might prefer this, for me, it felt like the room was too cramped. You are almost always working out in someone else’s space. Machines are very close together because they take advantage of every inch of the room to add machines... except that it just makes it too cramped. There’s virtually no space to do things like stretch or do workouts that don’t require a machine. In addition, there were different machines for men that weren’t in the women’s, which was disappointing.Lastly, if you go at any busy time, parking is tough. And the weekend hours start later so it’s not ideal for you if you like to hit the gym early on the weekend.I left the gym when my contract was up because I moved and found a gym closer for a better price. But it was convenient for me when I lived near it!
Ive attempted to cancel my membership multiple times. Im now receiving daily phone calls and letters stating I owe late fees. Steer clear of this place!
Dont even try to go after work. There are two weight rooms, but only one is available to the public (the other, larger one is reserved for trainers only). If you like to work out in the afternoon I would NOT recommend Oakway, the weight room has 30+ people in it from 4:30 until 8:00. It gets pretty hot, smelly and busy and there simply arent enough machines or room to work out.
Love this gym! Long time member. The staff and instructors are amazing; kind, eager to help! The facility is as clean as you can keep a high volume of traffic. There are some drawbacks I wish could be addressed. The womens locker room is really cramp, and gets so hot and stuffy!! Wish the would have better air flow or a few large fans could be hung up to cool and move the air. The showers are too close and open to the dressing area, which is whats creating so much hot steam. Wish showers were more away and separate from dressing area...many members do agree, and chat regularly about this. Also another popular concern for so many women...there is no area to do makeup, and dry/curl- style hair! The very small counter they have can get so crowded, and difficult to use; some like me use the toilet area, has larger counter area, and is not right next re showers...but still your hot from the steam from showers. Problem using toilet area to do hair, and makeup, is it can be a bother to the women using restroom, crowds them! I love this facility. It offers great work outs! The weight area has been changed to coed..men and women, which its gives more room than before.
Nice swim. Nice soak in the hot tub.
Oakway Fitness offers a full service gym. They have a 2 lane 25 yd lap pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna and daily water aerobics classes. The hours are generous. The price gives city services a run for the money.Daily drop in 15Month to month no contract 35 (70 to start). And less monthly w contractSilver sneakers gym
Great place for steaming and sauna. Nice and clean facility. The only downside is that you have to wait until 6 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to go into the sauna area if your a male. Other than that its pretty cool. Only place in town with coed sauna.
This Fitness Center is called this with good reason. First of all they have a long history here. They have 1 pool with lap lanes, both steam and sauna. They even offer childcare!! Over 35 classes, 80 group classes, weight rooms and personal trainers, water fitness and so much more, senior programs and some of the best friendly customers and hard working staff. So many choices for every age and every level. Come check it out!! You will be glad you did!!
Nice facility, nice equipment, great classes. Also included: lap pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room.
I signed up for International Fitness (Gateway) on Monday, by Thursday is was closed. I tried the Oakway location option, but the child care there is inadequate. You have to schedule way in advance and it costs $3.00 an hour. At Gateway, I had a deal for $15.00 per month for two hours a day 7 days per week. Delta location only charges $10.00 per month. We will go there in days we don’t have other care. Jenny at the front desk of Oakway fitness was at her whits end with flustered, angry people. I was just the last straw. Her boss told her to require everyone to fill out medical information sheets and a waiver. HIPPA exists for reason, I do not give out my medical information willy-nilly. I did however sign the waiver. Jenny did her best to keep her composure, and while she did become frustrated back at me, we ended friendly. Good job Jenny!
One of my favorite places. The members are amazing and encouraging. The staff are supportive and helpful.
I was redirected here from International Fitness Gateway, after they shut their doors with a one day notice to us. I was really hoping for more, but after two workouts here, I can only say one positive thing. Location. This facility feels like somewhere I would’ve worked out in the early 1990’s. Frumpy, aged equipment, worn carpets, and rather dim overall. So, if you’re looking for state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, this place definitely isn’t your pick.Added bonus, International Fitness is now merging, sarcastically.Finishing out my last year of advance-paid dues, but diverting to a different company, with a much better gym facility, housing equipment and amenities from this century.
I am heartbroken to say Oakway Fitness sucks now. They completely changed the gym so instead of men and women having separate rooms (which was the only reason I started going there) they have combined into one full cardio room and one weight room. There is no room to lay down a mat and do floor exercises. AND to cancel my membership I have to pay loads of money. Having different gym sides made Oakway special and I would always recommend this gym to my friends or coworkers. There is nothing special about this gym anymore.
Love this fitness center, Its my second home. The xtremefit class is awesome, and the coaches are so helpful! They have a big pool area, so I relax after class in the hot tub and sauna!
Helpful and friendly staff and suitable weight room with a diverse demographic of members. Free weights went up to 105. They even had a few box platforms for squats and deadlifts. Showers were plentiful and clean. Lockers are provided as well!
Pool water not filtered very well and locker room not kept up very well but they made sure that we had a mask on when we came in and that we didnt have a temperature.
Very clean changing rooms, nicely maintained pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room and good choices for workout equipment and classes
I had fun on my very first time visit. Cant wait to attend classes!
Con Artists. I got duped into a contract, found out you have the option of month to month as well as a trial period you can see if you like the gym. I didnt get this info from the staff, I got it from the other patrons. Since I was stuck in a contract, I tried it out. I went every day for 3 months until the gym got so crowded that I couldnt even barely move. Guess making more money selling contracts is more important than the accessibility and comfort of the people already paying you! When I found out there was a month to month offer, I tried to change to that at least because I was never even given that option. They said I could talk to their billing people and they never ever answered any of my calls or messages. I was told I would be charged 3x the amount if I just flat out cancelled. So I had to pay for NOTHING for the last 9 months. I was told on September, when I called to pay, that I was making my very last payment. I look at my account today and they took another payment out without my concent!!!!! I call and magically the billing department answers and tells me that this is in fact my last bill. She told me the exact same thing the girl told me a month ago! I hate this gym, hate how crowded and stinky it is and that they do not care about their patrons. There are So many gyms in town. Do not make the same mistake I did.
Im a newer member but I like the facility. The staff has always been friendly to me. The pool, hot tub, and choice of wet and dry sauna are a nice amenity if you can remember the days and times it is open to your gender or open to all. Im happy with my membership thus far.
I have been a member for over twenty-years; within the past decade they have built a whole new center. It has everything: weights, dance, zumba, silver sneakers👟, lap swim🏊, deep water aerobics, shallow water aerobics, hot tub, sauna, separate men and womens swim times and male/female together hours, individual trainers for the exercise equipment rooms, x-training, bike rentals, child care, snacks and nutritious drinks, separate shower areas for male and females, caps, sweat shirts, t-shirts, bags🎒 with their logo - televisions in their work out rooms. Every imaginable work-out equipment is there. They also offer nutritional training. They have won The Best Readers Award which is based on community input through the local newspaper, The Register-Guard for the last 7 or 8 years! Additionally, Lussuria, a massage and therapy spa, is next door to Oakway Fitness; it also houses a hair salon. On the other side of the fitness center is a popular bowling alley. The Oakway Fitness is a busy and popular place. You can buy 1-3 year memberships there. It is worth every cent you pay monthly! 😀
Keeping it simple..Monthly fee arent too bad compared to other gyms. Nothing special about this gym$60 annual fees to keep gym and equipment clean are a little too much considering the lockers and equipment are dirty. Im extra cautious when changing in the locker room.If I wasnt locked into a contract I would totally get out of it. Other gyms are much less and cleaner with the same amount of traffic.Keep the lockers cleaner and Ill change my rating.
Im another member redirected from International Fitness. Wow. I cant get a clear answer on this, but I suspect that my rates will increase. I dont need to know by how much; I can already tell you that it isnt worth the extra money. A small, crowded workout space with aging, worn out, out-dated equipment (some of the weights arent even labeled). So far, when weve gone, theres been a 50% chance that the cardio equipment or the back room with the mats/powerlifting equipment will be reserved for a class, which means youre stuck with the crowded equipment. Id always heard this place was pricier or fancier than other gyms-- ha!Its just a step above the gym equipment youd find at a cheap hotel (and only in terms of quantity--certainly not quality). Save your money and keep looking.
Customer service is appalling. It’s Sunday, website says they close at 6:00. I get there at 4:30, the sign says 5:00. Bottom line, the powers that be decided Willy Nilly to change the time today. No respect for customers(some of whom are disabled) who come with the need to work out. Shame on you. And the worst part, this club is the best of the worst.
Love love love what Elements is all about!!! Oakway location is one of our FAV’s!!!!!
Great workout areas friendly staff and many ammenities
Love coming here. Always feel welcomed, love the machines and the pool area is wonderful!
Love the unlimited classes with membership.
Great pool for working out and friendly staff
The separation of the men and womens facility is great, however, the staff fails to inform you that during the weekends, there are no restrictions on the weight room. The womens facility is significantly smaller than the mens and it seems a bit unfair that the men use the womens facility on the weekend, even when their area is empty. Enjoy working out during the week days? Forget it! The womens area is packed and youll be waiting forever before you can find an available cardio machine. Want to lift weights? You cant! The staff members of the gym work out in groups during the busiest hours and do circuit training, basically making it impossible for paying customers to do anything. The concept of separate facilities seems ideal, but the staff have made it nearly impossible for anyone to enjoy this gym. This place is overcrowded and Oakway either needs a second facility or they need to increase the membership cost for new members.
Great work out facility, even better now that they have gone co-ed 7 days a week
Nice fitness club. I like the classes. Lift to be fit is the best :)
I love the separate fitness rooms for men and women, the after work classes and most of all the kidz zone child care. My son loves it there which makes it easier to go after a long work day and full day of daycare. Options of wet or dry sauna, Jacuzzi and pool add to the after or pre workout experience. Awesome place!
I have been a member of many a gym over the years and never been to one that made me feel as unwelcome as Oakway Fitness. They never seemed able to print my membership card to make checking in easy and on occasion when checking in was asked are you sure your a member Yea i am sure i am a member as is my bank account.
This gym has a serious staff problem. The obese girl and her even larger partner are a poor choice for the front desk. The fact that they glare at everyone who doesnt eat their feelings is frustrating b/c who wants to deal with depressed, unhealthy people when youre trying to work out?About 4 months into trying this gym, one of the creepy gym attendants actually started following me out to my car at night and lurking in the shadows like I wouldnt notice. He made me feel unsafe in the parking lot.On another occasion, a verbal fight broke out in the locker room when an older white woman started screaming at an Asian lady with a skin condition that her appearance was offensive and that she shouldnt share the showers with other people. The staff ignored the fight and looked on as though this kind of behavior was acceptable at the gym. I was so disgusted I havent been back since. I called the gym 3 times to cancel my membership and they refused to help me. Straight up, the girl at the front desk refused to take a message for me so I could start the process of cancelling my membership. Confused how you can treat your customers this way and still stay in business...
Friendly atmosphere, great pool and sauna/ hot tub/ steam room.
Wish it had every day co-ed. Need hot tub more often
Expert trainers, great equipment, fun place to work out!
This is a great fitness center with many amedities, and a cool employee named Cherise pardavich
Has best step class in the world
My happy place. Wish I could go more.
Ive been going there for 11 years now. The atmosphere is so different from Gyms and not hauty tauty like some clubs. The people are very friendly. I rarely feel intimidated by others. And there isnt the grunting, loud banging, and blaring music like so many other places. Considering all of the amenities at this club, and so accessible, its a great value!!
There is a guy at the front desk who seems to go out of his way to make me and others feel uncomfortable when we walk in to check in or when he walks through the work out room. Hes got light brown hair and is slightly balding. Try not to make eye contact because he will make you feel increadibly unwelcome.
Great water aerobic class!
FABULOUS WITH DEBRA
First off, the people there - both staff and especially the patrons - are extremely friendly. This gym has always had a great community. My criticisms are mainly about the equipment and size of the space, especially whats offered for women. If you are into group fitness, this is a great gym. But if you want to mainly lift, thats much more difficult. There arent deadlift or chest press racks (probably not using the right terminology) in the womens section, and its frustrating to try to time workouts to use the Xtreme Fit workout area (think CrossFit) when there isnt a class. Without mirrors there, it can be hard to check form. Plus, its technically a no-no to sneak into the mens area where there is more of the equipment Im looking for. Plus, the general weights area in the womens area is small and crowded. I understand that segregating by gender works for some (it can be intimidating sometimes, and Ive been hit on by creeps in the past - never at Oakway, though!), but I think the concept is becoming outdated as more women look to lift heavier weights. Plus as our society/culture moves past outdated gender norms, its going to be harder for this gym to be open to all. Consider what youre looking for re: your fitness goals and join a gym from there.
You wont find a better equipped, cleaner or more friendly gym than this one.
I am a life time memberO.FIs a a clean well managed facility and I am proud to be s member
I got an ear infection after swimming in their pool. The pool was visibly dirty so I shouldnt have gotten into it to begin with. The steam room was dirty and gross as well. I did the free trial offer and cancelled within a couple days. Also, its not good for male/female workout buddies because they have separate sections for men and women...which I didnt like since the mens section had far better weight machines than the womens side.
Have belonged for 46 years! Clean, friendly, coed, and lightly occupied at times.
Still scratching my head as to how anyone could think oakway should recieve anything higher than 3 stars. The hours are sub par, the weights and machines are very much sub par, it’s over crowded. The locker room is falling apart. They allow people to play soccer in the weight room (I plan on doing sprints in there next week). They shouldn’t be charging anything more than $9.99 a month. I can’t wait until my year is up.
I hope, in the future, reviews that are in the spirit of bullying and judgemental can be shared face to face with the manager. Even large people try to exercise and the comment about the front desk staff is meanspirited. Use your verbal skills with the management.
This place has become so crowded. Literally a bus load of kids (a sports team?) came in today, there are more people than equipment.
Best customer service, great clients, nice & clean, love it, love, love it!!! The cedar sauna I could live in!
Great place well worth monthy payments
Favorite group fitness classes!
Its overall a nice facility with a friendly staff. Love the separated mens and womens sections and despite what other people have said, its only Sunday (family day) when men and women can work out in either room and from what Ive seen, they rarely ever intermingle. And the assumptions of racial discrimination are really quite ridiculous... There are plenty of minority members, all of which Ive seen treated as respectfully as anyone else. My suggestion is, however, unless you plan on going to the gym multiple days a week consistently or if you plan on using this gym for a short period of time, just buy a punch card! No commitment or sign up fees but you can still attend classes and if a member of your family is an actual member you get your card at a discount! If you are able to avoid high attendance hours (8-10 AM or 5PM) its actually pretty easy to have room to work out and be able to snag a machine, especially in the summertime!
This is a great facility with lots of classes available.
