Daves is the best barber shop with the best barbers in the area. Everyone is in a good mood here. The only negative is the long wait time. I usually wait 45mins-1 hour for a cut. Obviously worth the wait as we all keep going back.

The staff were polite and friendly, and they even made sure I had my bike locked so it wouldnt get stolen. You can be as quiet or social as you want, and theyll reciprocate accordingly. My haircut was clean and well-done, but make sure you know what you want beforehand. The free WiFi is a plus.That being said, the Achilles Heel is the long wait time, due to the many customers and lack of appointments. It took over an hour between stepping foot in the door and getting on the barber chair. But I dont visit any barbershops very often so I cant speak for others.All in all, however, a neat little barbershop with a comfortable atmosphere, friendly banter, and chill people.

Ive had several haircuts done at this place and theyve all been great. There is a little bit of a wait on busy days so do plan to be there for up to an hour or two if you havent made an appointment. Their skill and service is very good, especially for the price. They currently are charging $18 for a haircut which is a bargain for what you are getting.

Every time Ive taken my son here (about 5 times) they never do what we ask and very sloppy. Only reason I have even kept going to give them more chances is because I live nearby. Not planning on going there again unless its emergency.

I have lived in Elk Grove for six months at the time of this post and after trying several other barbers in the area Daves is the best Ive had. Theres no appointments which does suck so youll have to get there early. All the barbers take there time and they give constant feedback throughout the cut. I get a medium fade, skin with a trim on top and it rubs $24 dollars before the tip, but it is well worth the time and price.

Busy day. 5 chairs working. Wait was 1 hr. Watching golf on TV. Lots of fun banter between barbers and customers. Great haircut. I save 4 bucks with Sr discount. Very traditional barber shop.

I never do a review for anything but I just had to do a review for Dave’s barbershop. The last haircut I got was at sports clips and they really messed my hair up but today I walked into Dave’s and they did an amazing job. They had fix what I had thought was already ruined. The fades are so clean. Based on my experience I believe daves barbershop is the best barbershop in Elk Grove hands down.

I like Daves Barber Shop and understand the high ratings that it gets, but I have to say that I have had better haircuts. That said, I will happily go back to Daves especially to get the full hot towel shave experience. Always a great treat to give yourself. The music is always good, and the staff is friendly with just the right amount of talk.

Plan on at least a 30 min wait with an 15-30min haircut. No set prices. I get the same hair cut, and one week its $18 the next its $24 not including tip. They do a good job though.

I have been going to Daves for about a year, and I cant say enough good things. Great haircuts for me and my toddler son, its clean and the barbers are super friendly. Never had a bad haircut from here. They dont do appointments, but you can call ahead to check the wait. The place is so friendly, I usually just show up and wait it out. There are almost always enough barbers working that even if there is a big line, it goes pretty quick.

Great place to get a clean cut... can be a long wait but thats just a testament to their demand. Weekday mornings seem to work out best to get in and out.

Ive been going to Daves for twenty+ years and have never received a bad hair cut. Dave is a great guy who is an great at his craft. They have done some fairly recent renovations and the place looks great. Highly recommended!

17 years and never a bad haircut. With 5 chairs cutting now the wait is rarely more than 15 minutes. While I am old school with regards to my haircuts, a lot of the younger barbers are pretty cutting edge.

Daves is great. Barbers take their time, do things right, and they are super friendly. Its definitely not a $6 haircut type of place, but they fixed the haircut my wife gave me with no problems :)

Nikki is my girl for my undercut & fades, but the guys are great, too! Great with children. Small, yet busy, so be prepared to wait.

This place is AWESOME. Havent gone anywhere else since I discovered it. They get pretty busy sometimes, but with good reason, theyre simply good. I usually get cut by Dave, but Ive had cuts from others there too and its always amazing, never seen anyone complain. Always have some good music playing in the background, good conversation(theyre very good about keeping things appropriate based on whos in there) and the shop is always clean. Only place Ill ever go as long as I live in Sacramento area.Edit: i now live in west sacramento, i still drive across sac to my cuts here!

Good old boys and girl barber shop, Ive been here multiple times usually a wait, no thang.. reasonable prices, I see a lot of moms and dads bringing the boys in for a cut, a lot of old guys too, always respectful to veterans and older folks..

Used to love this place. Been going for 2 years for every haircut until today.I arrived and was told the wait was a little over an hour, as per usual, so I put my name in and leave to run errands like I have so many times before.I arrive back 45 minutes later at 3:20 to wait the rest of my time, only to find the front doorman walking out to grab the sign and close early, which was confusing, as they are open till 4, the 4 chairs were still in use & there were still 3 other customers seated inside waiting to begin.I politely asked them if they still had time for me, since I put my name in, and arrived before the time they told me too. The front doorman was incredibly rude to me, and couldnt make eye contact while telling me they had already called my name, then closed the door In my face.I used to love this place, but I neither I, nor the roommates I recommended Daves too will be going back again.

Took my 4 year old son. He hates haircuts. They were awesome with him. Gave him a great cut. He still hates haircuts, but I appreciate their patience and efforts to give him the best experience. Ill be taking him here forever

I have been getting my haircut by Dave since I first moved to Elk Grove a few years ago. I wear a flat top style so its a difficult cut to begin with. Dave has always showed great patience and left me with a perfect cut everytime!

Worst place to get a haircut. Walked in, shoulda walked right out. Dude who cut my hair was too talkative to the other booth. Both my hair and the other patrons hair look like we got chopped up by a tag team of Edward scissor hands and ray Charles. I needed a trim and ended up with 2 inches off my hair and a lopsided line up. I dont get why that David guy is still working there. Worst cut of my life I ended up going down to the store, buying my own clippers and buzzing my head evenly just cause that guy couldnt trim .5 from my head. Amateurs!!!

Best barbershop I ever been, they know what they are doing and take their time to do your hair, unlike most places they do a fast job but not the same style. I would recommend this place because I get my hair it and I like how it turns out.

I went to get a fade and this guy shaved half of my head when i just wanted a medium fade. I also had him trim my beard and butchered my beard. not happy will not go back again. Rossi cut my sons hair and it looked great, but mine was cut by someone who probably just started cutting hair.
