I have been coming to Gentleman’s Republic for my haircuts for the past 2 years and couldn’t be more pleased with my experience there. Chris is by far the most professional and attentive barber I have ever had and will go the extra mile to make sure you’re looking your very best. Classy place to get a haircut. Good vibes great service. They also offer facials and pedicures. Drinks are incredibly good! Check this place out. Also keep in mind that it is pricier than your typical haircut place in El Paso, but it’s for a reason.

Barber shop that charged $50 for a haircut and wasnt better than a Sports Clips cut. Fade was ok, shaving cream barber used was cold. Positive note they did offer coffee that was good and they were professional and welcoming, but the actual haircut experience and quality of cut was sub par for the price. Have wanted to go back over the years just to see if they have improved, but my past experience keeps me away....

I had a great experience at Gents Republic! Their staff is very nice and super accommodating. I used to go to Sports Clips, but never again after going to Gents Republic. They cut my hair exactly how I wanted. It is 100% worth it.

Starting from going in, I met the manager and the host. Both were very professional and it felt like going to a high class restaurant. It made me feel like I was an important part of their business. You can walk in with gym shorts and a t shirt and get the same treatment as you would if you were dressed up.They take time to get to you know you. I told them about my son and they told me about their father son packages too, and invited him to come with me next time.Even though they were busy getting ready for a group to come in, I was still treated as a number 1 customer.The services were amazing. The barber took all the the time to make sure it was perfect. He made easy comfortable conversation. I did the maintenance package and all the services were awesome.I was given beer with my package which was very refreshing and went well with the whole experience.If you get a package, that time is going to be set aside just for you. You can leave your stress at the door and let them take care of you.Highly recommend.

Update: EVERYONE PLEASE BEWARE. I had to start the process of taking legal action, and am now getting a police report for harassment and have submitted a complaint to the Civil Rights Division. None of what she wrote below is even remotely true.In fact using someones disability as a scapegoat for your poor business practices is not only disgusting but ethically wrong and violates the ADA. Also just for the record, Aspergers is not a disability, it is a social disorder, which two of the worlds greatest minds were diagnosed with. Maybe you recognize their names, Albert Einstein and Elon Musk. That is not a disability, that is a super power.Ms. Laura, I have no interest in any name calling or stooping down to your level.Original:Believe it or not the cut itself was decent. The drink was delicious. My only gripe is that they lack transparency in the price. I checked the prices on one of the photos that were posted and decided that it was within my range for the services that I had wanted.The cut was quick and this isnt my first barber spa experience. Nothing that I received was worth $100. Which was more than double what was advertised. That is the most expensive cut that Ive ever had from any of the other spas I have been to in NY, Los Angeles, and Chicago. I decided to view the reviews afterwards, which I wish I had done prior.This was going to be a 3 star review but as a business owner myself, I removed 1 star after reading how the manager responds to customers. All of their responses are rude and not even the slightest attempt to rectify or discuss the situation. In fact they accused every single review as a FAKE REVIEW. Based on my own experience I can guarantee that is probably not the case. In fact just in case she accuses me of the same, I will attach my copy of the receipt.

As soon you walk in you can see that you are not walking into any ordinary barbershop. You are welcomed by the front desk and offered a drink. Once you are in the chair your stylist makes sure you are taken care of 100%. From start to finish are taken care of. To top it off they are very clean. The owner didn’t spare no expense all top quality.

This place is definitely a false representation of an honest establishment . A lot of reviews have been taken down as any honest review the owner swiftly flags as being fake so it doesnt show poorly on her google page. I overpayed for a poor service that was done less than an hour and cant even leave a negative review since shell remove it. Boasting you have 4 stars when in reality its a false title is sad. (Not a fake review) I paid for a service and overall this establishment did not deliver. I asked the young man in the front who checked me out to have the manager call me and he wrote down my number and they never called. Professionalism and price is not up there... only good part to this place is the mediocre drinks...that if you dont drink you are still charged for! Thats literally the only reason i paid so much from what I gather.

Had an appointment and was left waiting 20 minutes after the time of the appointment. When I asked what was going on I was told by the lady that the barber was almost done but received no apology or anything. I can understand and wait a little bit but there was no communication or apology offered. You can tell the arrogance of the manager just from the way she replies to negative reviews.

The establishment decor and vibe are modern rustic and really enhance the first class experience. The owner is truly fantastic and very professional. She was very engaging and extremely hospitable in providing a fresh made French Press coffee. It should come as no surprise that the coffee was excellent. Fair beard trim and hair cut. But WAYYYY OVER PRICED. WAYYYY. I was in the chair for 25 min declined a wash and it was $91. I am from Chicago and some of the best barbers in the world dont charge that. Nice enough but be ready to over pay.

Ask for Marielena. She is obviously a pro from the quality of my lineup and fade. When I go for a haircut, I like to know that the barber possesses a knowledge of hair far beyond mine, and, in this case, it would be true. She’s new there, but don’t fret. If you’re assigned to her for a cut, you will be in good hands. She understands both English and Spanish, so use both.

This is the only place I go for a good fade/haircut. Im picky with fades and havent had a bad cut yet. Ive been other places all around town to find a good cut, Gentlemans Republic Barbershop is far superior in quality, professionalism and class.

If you leave an honest review the manager/business owner trys to lie or come at you for a fake review, instead of resolving the issue professionally she plays defense. In my 29 years on this planet I have never ever been intimidated by a owner or manager for a service I am paying for especially a simple conversation on scheduling an appointment but rather see how this owner truly doesnt value her customers its either her way or the high way and Judging how she replies says a lot about her character. A simple question she becomes defensive and rude when in reality I am not the first to state the obvious my girlfriend was bare witness to how she treated me on the phone as well as when she was waiting in the lobby for me. I got my hair cut with this place and after told the owner how it differed when compared from other top barbershops in El Paso, she went off downgrading the other establishments and comparing them to her supposedly amazing atmosphere that she provides. If you dont deal with her often the establishment is okay the stylist are nice but you are over paying who pays 68+ for a 30 minute haircut I had never had razor bumps as bad as I did from this place . Price is never an issue for quality but I wouldnt say with the attitude the older lady gives off it is worth the price. I hope she remembers that her attitude is what makes customers come back and being professional and treating people with basic human decency is not hard. 10/10 will not come back and gladly rather pay 70$ Elsewhere than to have to book again through the rudest lady Ive ever met!

María Elena was amazing and very professional. When I came in I did not have an appointment, and the young lady at the desk said everyone was booked. As I was getting ready to see when I could come back, a another two employees came up and told me that they had availability. What bugged me was that the young lady at the desk kept on coming into the room and kept on eves dropping. Did not get her name but it’s the one with blond tips on her hair. Aside from the issue with the front desk girl everything else was great

Gentlemans Republic was a most delightfully unexpected experience. Im from New Jersey and was visiting family in El Paso, yet needed a haircut. I discovered GR and was treated to an experience that I would only have believed possible in one of Manhattans finest salons. I went in for a quick haircut hoping I would not be butchered and soon realized I had found a gem. Rebecca was pleasant, personable, and professional. My haircut was not only one of the best Ive ever had, there were scalp, shoulder, and facial messages; and then an expert shave. The ambiance was wonderful from the dark paneling and leather furniture, to the de-toxic masculinity of restfulness in the atmosphere. No driving dance--club music; just relaxing smooth jazz. Ill be making it a point to pass the word to everyone who mentions haircut and El Paso in the same paragraph. Gentlemans Republic will definitely remain on my radar and in my phone! Thanks!

I was on the phone as the manager deliberately rose her voice at my husband for a simple question. Disgusting as a grown woman. He called for an appointment and was answered with a rude attitude. Never again calling or recommending this place to anyone. At least they have drinks so you wont remember the attitude you receive!

Very professional and relaxing from start to finish. I got the works package and it was definitely worth the very reasonable price. Facial was more than 20 different treatments and the stylist really took her time. I highly recommend you to give this place a try. Coffee was fantastic, the bar looked great but it was a morning visit. Im told a food truck is in the near to finished stage. I will definitely be back.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would, no exaggeration! I was even greeted upon entering!!I’ve always found it hard to come by getting a nice hair cut, regardless of where I go. The PX barber (for you military peeps) is a 5 year old cutting your hair compared to this place. If you know what you want and give detail, an amazing haircut you’ll receive. I loved the look and style of the place, friendly and funny staff, amazing and lovely owner. Very well kept.

Nothing like having your French press coffee with bourbon made by a CIA trained chef. She even took the time to teach me a bit about why alkaline water is better for coffee. This is a place to relax and be pampered. Oh, and the do a great job with hair too!

I have received multiple haircuts over the last year and will return for many more. I travel from out of town and the quality of the cut and attentiveness will keep me coming back.

Tried to go here twice and was not impressed. First time, I showed up for my appointment and was surprised to find out they only accepted cash. I didn’t have any on me at the time and notified the hostess I would reschedule. Second time, I tried to make an appointment over phone and asked about the cash issue and was notified only cash still. Got it no problem. However, now I’m asked if they can have a card on file in the event of a no show. Pause. Well if you can only take cash how do you charge the card? I was notified that an they have an alternate way to charge the card in that “special” case. Hmmmmm. So why can’t I use card for the actual haircut? Basically, for the rest of the conversation, she danced around whatever the real reason is and I didn’t feel comfortable giving a business my card information under those conditions. I fully understand the no-show policies, it’s at most barber shops and I have no problem with that. It seemed a little too sketchy for me. I would not recommend and would suggest that they correct the issue. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Good luck all.

Excellent service,! We were in town visiting family and decided to spoil my hubby with having his head professionally shaved and a beard trim. They did an amazing job. While he was getting pampered I enjoyed a few cocktails prepared by Laura out in the patio. Highly recommend it!!!!

Just make sure you have plenty of time as they are all about quality and you may be there for a while and youll love every minute of it!

Most relaxing beard trim and cut ever.

My Covid-19 makeover was an awesome experience. As soon as I arrived I received the VIP treatment. Laura made me one of the signature drinks and humbled me in a game of chess. Jared did a great job of making me look normal again. He was very meticulous and took great pride in his craft. So if youre looking for a place to relax and kick back make an appointment. You wont be disappointed.

This place can be summed up with one word; Classy. The barber salon is set in an El Paso Trost house and has been taken fantastic care of. My barber, Rebecca, did a fantastic job and was very attentive to every detail while cutting my hair. The owner, Laura, is a very wonderful woman who loves her business and the city of El Paso very immensely and is super friendly. Would very much so recommend Gentleman’s Republic to anyone who likes going to local businesses that actually care about their customers.

I am not really sure how to start. This should be a destination location.. A mini event everytime I visit. It should be an oasis, an escape from the daily grind... if I wanted a 20 minute haircut I would have gone to superxxts. I spent 3 hours experiencing a host of services from the menu. My total ended up $40 more than the original estimate... I didnt know adding a facial to a shave added that much.FYI - fluorescent lights suck and should be removed from this place. LED lights are cheap and deliver better light.FYI - the military discount only applies to the haircut, nothing else.Giving me $3 cash back (haircut discount) on a $191 tab because we couldnt figure out the register, was somewhat insulting. Insulting because it made the discount stand out even more.Not excited about coming back.

Coolest barber shop Ive been to, and Ive been to ones in California, new York, and Florida. Jimmy cut my hair. Hes hilarious and filled with stories--a living Jonah Hill. His barber skills are also of mastery. Nailed my cut to the T. The whole staff culture is really homely with a family feel. Come visit here!

The addition of the food truck up front has made my experience in this place an even better one! Bubba’s food truck is great, delicious and the cook at only 16 years old has a bright future cooking delicious home made original recipes!
