The experience I had with the sales representative was good until after the sale, that is where the extra star comes from.I am leaving a 2-star rating because the vehicle was severely un-aligned when I got it and it also stunk like mold when removing the plastic on the flooring and I had to have the belt replaced.Then, Less than 400-miles into driving it, the AC system stopped working and the battery did as well.Took it to the dealership, turns out the battery was shot and had just been given enough juice to hold up for a few drives. When looking at the battery connection under the hood, you could tell it had been jumped multiple times go scratches and scrapes.Tried to return the car but it was past the 7-day return window so they told me “Tough luck.”—verbatim and offered to do the repairs at there shop, a few hundred miles away (for a charge) but I cannot drive a car without a defroster and heater in this weather. Besides, all the places I talked to said it’s about the same price if I were to do it there, their place or the Mercedes Dealer. They just said maybe they could do it for cheaper but they have to look at it.$1000 for AC, $400 for batter, $300 for belt, $300 for detailing, $200 for alignment. All at 390 miles.If you choose to buy from this place, I recommend that you put at least 5000 miles on the car within the first 7-days to make sure it nots just rigged to work for a few hundred miles.

My husband, 9 month old baby, and I broke down off of Highway 2 going East approx. 20 miles outside of Duluth in South Range, Wisconsin. On top of AAA taking over 5 hours to arrive (lying and saying a tow was coming only to find out one was not coming), we called almost 25 auto repair shops in that area (including Duluth) to see if they could work on our car since we were traveling from Grand Marais, MN to Grove City, PA (15 hour trip) and needed to get home because of the baby... we were hoping someone could squeeze us in if possible! - To our horror, every repair shop told us 1-2 weeks wait, despite our circumstances. Im not sure what the deal was in that area but where I come from, mechanics try to squeeze travelers in, if they can due to them not having anywhere to go other than a hotel. - So, thanks to all those shops.ALL THIS TO SAY, Joe at Capital Motor Company was SO quick to work us in and help us. It was 146 miles from where we broke down but well worth the extra money spent being towed there. He got it done in less than 24 hours and made sure we were safe to get home. He was helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. We had a BMW, and it was hard to find someone who could also work on it. - Thank you SO much, Capital Motor Company... 3 month update/EDIT: I put about 10k miles on a BMW I bought about 3 months ago. Still a very clean car but going into an older BMW 3 months ago I wasnt sure what I was looking for as far as maintenance. Now I learned a lot more. Basically there was no maintenance done on this car ever done, they must have seen a clean car, cleaned it up more, and called it good enough. I recently started having some misfire issues. So I thought I would start with spark plugs. After getting the plugs out and inspecting the coil packs, it looks like they havent been changed recently, if ever to be honest. also with taking apart the engine i found an oil leak with the oil filter housing (common BMW problem, but this one looks like it has been going a while). again, the car is still nice, but these are some things that would have been nice if they would have disclosed or taken car of themselves. In parts alone to catch up on maintenance and to get my car running smooth again, I am in about $700. so my advice is to have your own mechanic look at any vehicle you buy from these guys, just because it is very clean to the eye, does not mean it doesnt need a fair amount of regular maintenance.They were able to get me a same day appointment with them when I called to see the car I wanted to look at. Steve was the salesmen. He was friendly and never once did I feel pressured. It took us some time to figure out delivery and some other small details but it all worked out in the end. I would take my business back in the future.

The price was very competitive but I needed a solid offer on my trade-in to make it worthwhile. I sent an email inquiry and received a response from Chris who promptly got me my trade-in range, pending inspection.I drove out today to test-drive the Audi, and was very impressed. Not only was the car well-represented, but Chris low-pressure approach and calm demeanor was extremely refreshing. Bought a used vehicle along with the extended warranty. 10 months later, the extended warranty is gone. I was without a car for 3 months. $9000 in repairs later, including $5000+ out of my own pocket, I am still dealing with issues. The latest episode involves 2 small copper washers causing an oil leak. Capital replaced the turbo and if they spent the extra $2 to replace them when they had it apart, I wouldnt have had an oil leak for 6 months and have to pay another $300 in labor to take it apart again. Seems to be a running theme: Do minimum amount of work and then have to pay for extra labor to do the job that should have been done the first time. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable enough, just wish there was still a lemon law in Wisconsin for used cars.

I have a 2004 BMW 330 CI convertible. Heading to Duluth on HWY 53 almost an hour north of Eau Claire I heard a clink and saw a piece of metal pop up behind the car. Pulled over. Was unsure what was wrong, Tried again and seriously burned rubber. We called Capital Motors and Joe the owner answered. He came with the Jerry Dan personally and brought us back to the shop. His technician assessed the impact to the car, was able to find one tire in the shop that matched the odd size needed and put us back on the road.We greatly enjoyed our conversation with Joe on the return. I did originally start with a 5 star review. My transaction at Capitol Motor the day I purchased my BMW X5 was easy. My 5 stars went to two stars about 2 weeks after I left the car lot. I feel as I was told mis-information the day I was sold the car. I also called and stoped in the the service department with concerns about my vehicle and no one seemed to care about them or the fact I just purchased this car from them. If you are familiar with BMW and live outside of the area that has a service department that works on BMWs this could be a great option for you. If you are new to owning a BMW and have to use this service department I would recommend finding different options.
