I’m giving an extra star because Joel at the front desk is always very friendly and he himself gives great customer service. However, the last few trips to Adams have been bad. I recently spent about 300 to replace my front brake pads because they were making a noise. Said everything was good to go when I left. There is still a noise and I just don’t have another 300 to drop on an issue that should’ve been fixed the first time. I drive a 2016 Toyota that has never had any issues but as soon as I started going to adams, I’m having lots of new issues that happen almost immediately after leaving the auto shop. I’m not accusing of it being intentional but I am questioning if their mechanics are experienced. I personally won’t be back to Adams

They took care of my car with expediency and efficiency. They were honest about the repairs that were needed to drive safely. They looked into finding the best price for the parts so as to be competitive. If I ever have car trouble while Im in the area, I would def return. It was the first time in years, that I felt comfortable talking with the mechanic while he explained and showed me the issues.

I was locked out of my vehicle, called AAA. They sent Adams Automotive to my rescue. Arrived right on time. Technician was very friendly and got me back in my vehicle in just a few minutes. Great service!

On 6/1/2021 my daughter had run an errand, and her vehicle began overheating, when she pulled over, she noted that radiator fluid was leaking. So we called AAA and they sent Adams Automotive was dispatched to tow her vehicle to Prestige Auto for repairs. We stayed with the vehicle until the tow truck driver came, but did not watch him load up the vehicle, as it was 10:30 at night and my daughter had to pick up her children. When we left the vehicle there was no damage to the bumper. When it arrived at Prestige Auto it was noted that the bumper was punctured, and there was a large crack in it, and of course, a hole in the radiator, so they assumed that the vehicle had been in an accident (the force of whoever caused this damage, also through out the alignment on her vehicle. the radiator was replaced and a re-alignment was done. Our issue is with the damage to the bumper. So we filed a damage claim with AAA, requesting that the bumper be replaced/repaired On 6/8/2021 Rich, from Adams Automotive called me and asked if I could bring the vehicle over to the shop so he could take a look at the damage, or If I had a picture in my phone. I said no, but that the vehicle was still over at Prestige Auto. Rich said okay, he was going to go on over and take a look at the damage and get back to me. We called Prestige Auto, and told them he was coming over, so they pulled her vehicle out front of the building Rich from Adams Automotive was seen by Prestige Auto personnel taking pictures of the damage, but that Rich did not come inside to speak with anyone. On 6/14/2021, Rich from Adams Automotive called me and told me he had possession of pictures that the driver took at the time he picked up the vehicle (6/1/2021) and these pictures showed that the damage was already there. On 7/1/2021, I spoke with MIchael Monterroso (service monitor from AAA handling our damage claim requested that we go out and obtain two estimates and send email those to him. We obtained the estimates that same day and these were sent. On 7/9/2021 Michael Monterosso called me and informed me that Adams Automotive produced a photo that the tow truck driver took when he picked up the vehicle showing that the damage was there when he picked up the vehicle. Again, the vehicle had a radiator leak, the vehicle was not in accident, there was no damage to the bumper. We stayed with the vehicle until the tow truck came. Needless to say I will not be using AAA ever again for roadside assistance. The radiator leak could have been as simple as a hose leak. We will never know. What could have cost her hundreds of dollars is now thousands of dollars. Needless to say I will not be using AAA ever again for roadside assistance. This is upsetting because I have had a membership with AAA since 1996. I feel like we are being scammed, Adams Automotive was not being honest. I certainly would not recommend them to anyone.

On vacation this happened, these guys dropped what they were doing and got me back on the road. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Thanks again.

I have a 1992 Japanese ambulance that I use for mail delivery. Adams is the only place I take it to for service. They dont give up when presented with a challenge! Always leave there with a smile on my face. I recommend them to everyone.

They were friendly and explained things in a way I could understand. I was given an estimate before the actual work began, and I was completely satisfied with the end result. I am new to the area, and my daughter recommended Adams. I’m so glad she did!

They lost one of my lug nut caps. As well as stripped over half of the lug nuts and I can no longer take my back tires off. They are beyond stripped and we have to go somewhere else so they can be drilled out. Meaning I have to pay even more. They’re very expensive and over priced as well. Don’t waste your time or money here!!

I took my car in to get some work done after getting a very high end quote of 2872 from another location. Before the checkup their quote was 600 flat, after it ended up being 692 - and when I say my car hasnt run this smoothly in a long time I mean it. They kept me up to date with all progress and even tried to save me some money, I will definitely be returning in the future if need be.

On a recent Sunday morning our Dodge would not start. We determined the battery was dead but couldnt figure out how to jump it. We called AAA for a jump or a tow, we werent sure. A short time later, Adams Automotive Center called us to say they would come to our home, and when they would arrive. Near the appointed time, they called again to report there had been an accident to which they must respond. We agreed that was the right decision to make. Later, they called again to say they were again on their way. The fellow arrived and knew exactly how to jump our car, which solved our dead battery problem. He was a good communicator and interested in helping us. We would give Adams Automotive 10 stars too, if we could.

Best automotive place in Eau Claire. Great all around service.

My son is from MN and attends UWEC.  His vehicle began to misfire and run rough.  Being from out of state we needed to find a local repair shop that we felt confident would do a good job.  We looked at many reviews and chose Adams Automotive Center based on their many positive reviews, are AAA approved and offered a AAA towing service.  Adams did not disappoint.  We received first class repairs and customer service.  We worked with service managers Steve and Chris and got top notch treatment.  The problem was quickly diagnosed and we were quoted fair prices for the different repair options.  The repair was done in a timely manner.  The misfire issue was resolved.  Often is the case that when repairing one issue on a vehicle of age and mileage other issues can be noticed.  This was true in our case as after driving the vehicle we noticed another issue so we brought the vehicle back to have them look into it.  Not only did they give us priority to fix the second issue they gave us a very fair price for the second repair.  Adams guarantees their work and they just wanted to make sure everything was done right.  Knowing the vehicle was for an out of town student Adams went well beyond the normal checkout to ensure that the vehicle was running properly without further issues giving us even more peace of mind to the vehicles safety and affirming that we made the right choice in bringing the vehicle to them.  This was also my sons first experience with having his vehicle towed for repair.  Adams is a AAA towing service so having them also do the towing made things easy.  Conner, the towing tech was great.  He treated my son very well and made everything go smoothly.

I broke down in traffic lane in Amery Wi. I called AAA towing. 3 hours later I had called Adams for a tow. He said he couldnt do it unless AAA roadside service notified him. He said he could do it if I would pay him mileage both ways from Eau Claire. Then I could request reimbursement from AAA roadside service for the tow. He stated that AAA wouldnt reimburse the entire amount. I finally had to rent a truck and trailer from U-haul to remove my vehicle. I definitely would never recommend Adams Automotive for AAA towing. I am filing a complaint with the Eau Claire AAA office.

I was so surprised with there honesty. My vehicle was diagnosed with what they thought was the problem and ended up being something totally different. There honesty was very much appreciated and my bill was half the amount. I will be returning with any other automotive issues.

No reason to have to take a vehicle in for maintenance only to return 3 more times because after each fix you discover something else is wrong & requires even more maintenance. Its time without a vehicle & more money spent. Needless to say, after 3 times, theres still an issue. Not going back there though. Will go elsewhere so the problem is fixed once and for all, and so more problems dont come about.

My car had been sounding a little loud, so I filled out the form on the Adams Auto website. I got a response within an hour. Dropped my car off the next morning for an inspection, and they gave me a ride to work. The same day, they provided a link to view photos online of the parts on my car that needed replacing as well as a fair estimate for parts/labor (I Googled the prices). They were able to get my car in for service immediately after the parts arrived. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and informative. I was very impressed.

About a year ago I went into Adams Automotive to get my oil pan changed because it was rusting up and I was told that they had to order a old oil pan from the junk yard. It was confusing to me why they couldnt just order a new one. I also came back a second time to get my car fixed again for a squeaking belt and they fixed it, but the noise came back. I then took it to a different automotive shop and they said that the tightness on the belt was messed up and it was done wrong. There are better places to get your car fixed, Adams Automotive to me made me waste my money.

My fuel line busted and NOBODY in Eau claire would even look at me for a month! Adams got me in 2 days after I called. Friendly, fair priced shop and they definitely earned a new customer!

Great service. First of all, they tow with AAA, and that alone is enough for the 5 stars. However, they had my car fixed, no appointment, in less than 24 hours, and for a very reasonable price. All the while they were in contact with me letting me know what was going on. Would highly recommend their services.

They also dont push unneeded repairs, only let me know what to watch for in the future. I would give them 6 stars but there are only 5 on this review!!! I hope to never have to use their tow trucks, but it is nice to know they are available.

Adams Automotive was recommended to us when we needed to find the source of a transmission leak in our 2003 Yukon.They called us back with a description of the work that needed to be done and an estimate: We agreed to get the work done and away they went.They not only addressed the problem of the leak but also added ultra violet dye to the transmission fluid and asked that we come back after 100 miles. At that time they would look for additional leaks with a black-light @ no charge to us. If other leaks are found then we will have the work done.If you are looking for a reliable place to bring your vehicle; this is it!!Great people and great service!!

Ive never written a review on Google, but I had to for this business. We hit ANTLERS on the freeway that someone lost out of the back of their truck. Both of my front tires were destroyed. Adams automotive was set up through AAA. It was memorial day, and unfortunately no one was open, nor had my size tires. Our tow truck driver, TJ, took care of our family from pick up to drop off. From advice on hotels to treating our 3 year old like his own. The next day, the owner went over prices and made sure we were on the road on time for me to get to work on time with the best option. We were on the road by 12:30. They were fantastic in keeping us up to date and making sure they took good care of us. I have seen a couple posts about price, but I have 0 complaints. Adams automotive made our stressful situation exponentially less chaotic, and I am beyond thankful for their service.

I think I’ve posted a total of three reviews in my entire lifetime, this one being my fourth, so I’m clearly not a review troll who critiques every aspect of one’s business. In looking at some of the more critical posts directed at Adam’s Automotive (Adam’s), I can’t help but wonder if the author of the post is confusing Adam’s with some other auto shop. It must be painful for the owner to see some of the more critical reviews knowing that the author is either being somewhat less than honest, or intentionally omitting relevant and important facts about their experience.People, this is a family owned and operated business that clearly employees a team of highly skilled, competent and honest people. Being in the customer service industry for most of my life, I consider myself to be a pretty good judge of character. As such, I can say with a high level of confidence that being “dishonest” is simply not in the owner’s DNA. I’m not saying he won’t make a mistake or misdiagnose a problem on occasion, but to state that he intentionally lies or misleads customers for the purpose of financial gain is simply a blatant misstatement…….period.My 1995 Chevy Silverado broke down on the interstate while towing a boat. Not being from the area I called several auto repair shops in the Eau Claire area only to be told that they would not be able to even diagnose the problem until the following day due to scheduled repairs. In addition, I was told that the chances of getting my truck repaired and back on the road the following day would be remote at best. When I called Adam’s for a tow, Hope, the receptionist was very polite and professional. She informed me that Adam’s also does auto repair and while booked solid, she pledged to do her best to get one of their mechanics to take a look at my truck before the end of the day (it was around noon). Long story short, the owner (Bob) came out during his lunch and popped the hood of my truck. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes, ordered the necessary parts, repairs were made, and I was back on my way by 3:30. And while I anticipated a $700 plus towing and repair bill, the cost (including the tow) was closer to $400. The owner even topped off my fluids at no charge.I would honestly send my 90-year-old grandmother to this place and have no concerns about her being ripped off. Thanks again to Bob, Barry and Hope for your professionalism and added efforts to get me back on the road and in a very timely fashion!In closing, if given the option to rate Adams Automotive Center Inc. 10 stars, I would not hesitate.

They had a coupon for an oil change plus tire rotation. I was needing other work done as well. I got home and read the notes after discussing them with the service clerk. I noticed that they DIDNT ROTATE MY TIRES. I called asked why and apparently I would need new lug nuts and it would take a long time to do the whole thing. Understandable, I guess. When I asked if I would be able to come in and get my tires rotated then, they said Id have to pay for it. I said I thought it was on the coupon? It was complimentary. Then dont advertise it as a deal when you didnt do it and then were going to charge after I pointed out they didnt hold their end of the bargain. They even got a little sassy with me on the phone. To give them props, they did call again to apologize and to work something out. I decided against calling them back because there were a bunch of other things they said going on with my truck that werent, besides quoting me higher than the next place I took it to. I was pretty disappointed, especially since being a college female I was hoping for help and not to be ripped off.

Its been about two months since I had my car there. Ill give one extra star for the cheap towing. I hit a curb with the car taking out both wheels on the drivers side. Getting the towing did not cost much and the truck was there in about 15 minutes. We were near exit 87 off of 53 so they were just further up the road.I was contacted the next day and told I would probably need new tires at least, spot on, but I would have to pay for the drivers side to be inspected. I gave the go ahead and waited. They called back later in the day to inform me that a rim had been bent, I needed new tires, and was given a $900 estimate. I talked them down to using a used rim and used tires, then gave them the go-ahead for 1 rim and 2 tires. I got a call later that week when the rim came in, the other rim was apparently also bent. I asked what the inspection at the beginning covered if they just found this out, and they said it was in a spot they couldnt have seen before. Looking back at the receipt, I see no charge for an inspection, so I guess its fine. I was a bit fed-up with this and the cost of the used rim, $272, that I asked them to throw the spare tire wherever it was needed and just to throw the bent rim in the back. They did this and I went to pay the same night. The one great thing to happen here was that someone had stopped by before me and, for reasons I still dont know, paid the bill anonymously. Whoever did so, thank you.My next couple days brought to my attention that getting a used rim for a Dodge Caliber was more in the ballpark of $120 and thats even shipped from the cities. Worse yet, I had the bent rim inspected at two different places, because I really couldnt find the dent, and both confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the rim.TLDR: I cant recommend. They did get my car back on the road, but the price was high (even though someone covered for me), and one rim was misdiagnosed. I should have looked into the other rim.

I used AAA during this polar vortex to get my car jump started. It took about 4 hours for someone to come out, which is fine. Once he got here, it was a quick jump start & told us to let it run 15-20 minutes before shutting it off again. So we wait & then shut it off, now it won’t start again. So I call & ask what that means, the receptionist was SO UNBELIEVEABLY RUDE. Talked to me like I was stupid for turning it off when YOUR TECHNICIAN gave us false information. We hang up, try to find a way to jump it ourselves, no luck. I call back to see if maybe they could jump it again, I don’t really care how long it takes just need a jump start... I get placed on hold by some guy, who then transfers me back to this lady. She was rude from the second she got back on the phone. I’m trying to be nice, I just need help, & she goes “well that’s just how it goes, it’s a busy day.” & hangs up. Sorry, but when your employee gives false information, that’s on YOU. Not me. You should own up & be willing to fix the situation at hand as soon as you are able to. Now I don’t have a working car before work. The technician was nice, but unfortunately gave me the wrong info. & having an unprofessional receptionist is the face of your company. I will not recommend to anyone simply for that. I work in customer service, & this is exactly what it should NOT be.

Tom at Adams was SOOO incredibly helpful when the alternator in our suburban went out on 94(hauling camper) helped us get to their shop at 8Pm on a Saturday night...AAA was no help in getting us back on the road that night but Tom came back to check on us and helped us line up a rental and even drove us out to pick it up....he then was up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday towing my rig closer to home...very impressed with the customer service and going above and beyond for the client...Thank you!

Fast and efficient. We were in a tough spot traveling from NC through Wisconsin. Our van broke down outside of Eau Claire. It was towed there around 10:00 in the evening and done by 10:30 am for the exact price our trustworthy mechanic in Raleigh would have charged.

I currently have a flat tire so I called AAA (6pm), they said someone from Adams Automotive could come tow my car and theyd be here by 7:10pm at the latest but probably earlier.At 7:45 no one was here to tow my car yet. I called AAA to see if they knew what was happening and they said the tow truck driver had been delayed but hadnt updated me. Nice customer service. After the very nice AAA rep spoke with Adams Automotive, she reassured me someone would be over with a tow truck by 8PM on the dot at the latest.As Im writing this its 8:06 PM and I am still waiting for someone to show up to tow my car.Update: tow truck made it and the guy was very nice and flexible with our options tonight (+2 stars)

These guys are great! Im not from the area so I really lucked out with them. Everyone I encountered was professional and extremely friendly. My car was done quickly and fairly inexpensively (even though it was an expensive fix).

Ive had 3 cars in as many years, and Adams has seen all 3 of them. My first vehicle was a, to be polite, ancient death trap. But anytime I had an issue (which was many, many times),I also knew I had a friend.My second vehicle was a whole lot nicer, and when it started draining its own battery, Adams was there to say, Heres an itemized list of whats wrong, and how we fixed it., which is... a relief. I am not a mechanically minded queer, ok? I can change a tire and check my fluid levels, thats about it.And now my third vehicle... I hit two baby raccoons and they got their revenge with a flat tire... which nearly destroyed the wheel itself.So I called Adams, and like a knight in shining armor, on a steel steed they came, at 445 am, to take my car to their shop.Now look Im not gonna lie- theyre not cheap. Oof, theyre not cheap. BUT- and big but here, ok? Theres stuff money cant buy- honesty, quality, skill, and experience. Thats what you get from Adams. Every time, no exceptions.Will I ALWAYS go to Adams? Likely not. One day Ill move, or Ill get another job, and theyll see the last of me. But if my new place aint like Adams, it aint my new place. I will always go where Im treated right.

We have always been treated fairly and honestly by the staff at Adams. Id agree with some of these reviews in that they are not the cheapest place to take you car. If thats what youre looking for then this aint the place for you. Just remember, you typically get what you pay for. I dont typically trust my car to mechanics who are less than 1 year post-graduation from their on-line mechanics school and I am willing to pay the difference for an experienced mechanic. Bob and his team have done a great job for me and our cars. Well keep going back and I definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for honest, quality work.Keep up the great work!

I would not recommend Adams Automotive Center because they admitted to overcharging me for my service. They gave me an estimate range for the service and came in $1 short of the high end. I asked for detailed invoice and 4 items were the same, each of which they assigned a different dollar value to. If you do go there, ask for the break down of the charges, FIRST. Dishonest, in my opinion.

I had my car at a dealership needing a computer programmed. After two attempts with no luck I contacted Adams Automotive. They were able to have me back on the road in no time.

I hope I’m right any who I called and he answered very quickly Even managed to be so kind even when I had no idea where I was found me with no problem considering the small wait time He told me 40 minutes and I swear it was like 15 so fast and very very helpful with my car troubles he hooked my car up quicker than any of my previous tow truck adventures. He made it a breeze ! He played frogger very well lol insider but he was sooo nice and I just really had to shout him out for his help and if anybody needs a tow call him cuz he’s fast and if your lucky like me he could be your hero ! I may be dramatic But he helped me out of a kinda scary situation and made me feel completely safe and in good hands ! Plus his truck was clean and smelled good ! Thanks again ! I visited during an extreme cold snap because (duh) I locked my keys and phone in my car. Of course most of their (many) service vehicles were out on calls, and there would be a delay. Decided to call my insurers 24/7 roadside assistance but realized I had no phone. Despite being extremely busy one of the guys at the service desk let me use his phone. The lines were backed up at the insurers call center so it took 10 minutes or on his phone. They never complained and were courteous throughout even though I ended up using a different service. Impressed!

My daughter is in Eau Claire for the summer this year doing an intership and her car broke down ( we live in FL) I looked up Auto Center and they came up I called them they said no problem have the tow company bring it to us. they had the car for a week ( it was 4th of July weekend) but on that Friday she had her car back and no problems. I just called them because I had to ship car back to FL and without any hesitation they say yes they would help me to ensure it gets put on the truck and hold the car until trucking can pick it up .. They recommended I get something fixed in the future and I thought it was accurate. My home mechanic said nothing needed to be done. Initially I was fairly upset about the thought of someone trying to rip me off. However, because of this post the owner called.The owner called me and made amends with me on why I was dissatisfied. I appreciated the honesty in the way he approached it, and he even offered a free oil change and to take a look at it the next time I am back in town!Professional way to look at what started off negative.

Wouldnt bring crap to here there crooked. My wifes jeep broke down 2 blocks from there. They charged her $100 to tow it 2 blocks. The U joint went out they told her $500 to fix it. Thank goodness she waited to talk to me.

I had a blown rear driver tire during my trip back MN. AAC was there to help us in time of needs. They were very honest, dependable, and helpful. The staff went all out and search for a tire to match the worn out tire treads of the remaining 3 tires of my Audi Q7. AAC saved me over $1500. I am grateful for their helped.

Great little shop, I definitely recommend this place to get your car fixed. Ive always felt with either Bob or Rich. Both are very attentive and do a great job at explaining any situation.

Had a misfire in my truck. I knew what the problem was, they mis-diagnosed the problem which cost me $100 alone, and wanted to charge me another $900 for a basic tune up (plugs, wires, distributor). Tried to sell me a bunch of other parts that they said were malfunctioning. Fortunately I am a mechanic back home, and I can smell a scam from a mile away. I didnt fit into the typical college kid who doesnt know anything about cars. Took my business elsewhere (right down the road to another shop) because of the ridiculous price. The next shop correctly diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel injector and fixed it for a fair price(less than half of what Adams wanted). If I would have had my work done at Adams I would have had a bill for almost $2000. Im sure they would have eventually fixed the problem and had my truck running great. If you want overpay for a fix, then Adams is your place. I hope my experience here was a fluke, but this fluke has cost them my business now and in the future. I would not recommend Adams Automotive Center.

I had a tire go flat on the interstate and didnt have a spare. I called AAA and adams towed me back. Had me back on the road in less than an hour with a used tire. Knowledgeable staff and quick service! Thank you adams staff!
