This is a great company! Our grass has never looked better. We moved into a new home and the sod was laid on compacted clay. I knew it wasn’t doing good, so we ordered an estimate. Weve lived in our house for 9 years and I have hired other companies to reseed several times, and tried to do natural soil ammendments myselft. The results were pretty awful - we never got great luck with reseeding and weeds and bare patches were taking over my yard. We finally hired Pleasant Green Grass about 6 months ago - after their targeted ammendments, aeration and reseeidng, our yard looks amazing! Easily better than its ever been and now its one of the best yards on our street. As a conservation biologist with a big pollinator garden, I was hesitant to hire a lawn care company, but I love their natural appraoch and care for our habtiat!

Scott and his team did an amazing job this past fall (Oct 2016) of expanding the back yard (and installing new lawn) of our newly constructed home. The job entailed a lot of de-stumping, tilling and compost amendment to prep the area before seeding.They were even able to come out several weeks before it was scheduled, which was great. The price was fair, they did a great job and his team was very friendly. I tend to be a DIYer (for the most part) when it comes to lawn maintenance, and Scott is also very knowledgeable and generous about offering his advice so that I can make the right decisions. When I need help in the future, Ill certainly call on Scott and his team again...and will continue to recommend them to others!

I am very appreciative of Pleasant green Grass -- the customer service, the products, and the results. Admittedly I am pretty hard to please when it comes to my yard, and the first couple of years I did not see much impact. So I kept sending Scott tough questions, i.e., Is this really going to work? He was patient with my questions, and kept encouraging me that things would begin to change after a couple of years of their service. Because Pleasant Green is environmentally friendly, I decided to stick with the program. And wow! Im really glad I did! Were in the third year, and our grass looks better than its ever looked in the 15 years weve lived here. Besides all that, we have critters in the lawn again (fireflies, grasshoppers, and little bugs), which is fun, and it means the birds are coming, too. We have been using the services of Pleasant Green Grass since we bought our first house 8 years ago. A couple of things that really stand out with his company is how personable he and his staff. We get landscape tips from either Scott or his office manager Judy on ways we can keep our lawns beautiful year round. Pleasant Green Grass have been taking care of our yard for several years now. They are 100% reliable and work quickly and discreetly, taking pride in their work. Pleasant Green Grass was great! I called them with multiple issues with our yard (aeration, fertilization, repair of drainage lines) and they were out to our house within a few days and fixed everything super fast and were very affordable. Ive been using Pleasant Green Grass for quite a few years now. They are the best! My new lawn (on 1 mm of topsoil on top of a foot of clay) looks so nice now. I have recommended them to several neighbors! The only down side is that our lawn grows faster and needs to be mowed more often, but it is BEAUTIFUL!

Everyone should be concerned about the large amount of fertilizer and pesticides washing into our streams from manicured yards. Pleasant Green Grass uses only organic methods for helping you keep your yard looking nice while protecting the environment. They communicate well with their customers and dont shortchange people in applications. The organic approach requires more diligence, more expense, and the results are not monochrome green, but I find my yard responds better to stress than most of my neighbors yards.

Our results were excellent. The lawn and landscaping looks great. The company is so easy to work with-emails are replied to quickly, you are notified when to expect the crew, and the work is efficient and well-done.

Excellent communication and responsiveness. We are in our first few months trying out their organic plan, and so far are very happy with their communication, explanations, and responsiveness. Time will tell how the lawn responds to their plan, but it does make sense, and Scott takes all the time needed to explain everything to you. Bridgette, in the office is also very responsive and gives you clear and up-to-date answers. Overall the price really isnt that much different than the other plans out there.

This past year was my first with Pleasant Green Grass. They always email in advance with the exact day that the service will be done and include instructions to help ensure the treatment will be successful. If the weather isnt accommodating, they let you know the rescheduled date. The office staff is prompt in responding to email inquiries. They were able to keep the lawn relatively weed-free without any harsh chemicals.

This past spring we switched to organic lawn care. Our lawn was a mess of weeds, literally probably 90% weeds. We have been working with Pleasant Green Grass to improve the soil, remove the weeds, and get grass to grow, without herbicides. We have been very pleased with the progress, and also very pleased with the company. When we moved into our new house, the previous owners didnt do organic lawn care but the lawn was beautiful. We were uncertain if we would be able to maintain that throughout the transition to organic, as we knew that it was a process of strengthening the lawn overall but would take a few seasons for this to happen. Scott has managed to not only keep our lawn looking nice, but is fixing areas that are spotty, working with us to deal with weed growth throughout, and making our lawn healthier than when we moved in. Please Green built a pair of very nice raised planting beds. Scott and his crew were prompt to respond to my request, quickly performed the work, and were easy to work with. The area they built them in was challenging due to the slope. They built two tiered raised beds and back filled with compost. They look great!

Provided good service with a product (sod install) that has held up well. Communication was at times great, at times missing. I attributed that to them being on site for installs.They took the time figuring out how to install in my back yard - an awkward spot that is uphill, over a terraced wall and through a 4 ft gate. Great problem solving.

I have used PGG for going on 3 years now. The results can be slower to achieve than non-organic means but the progress is positive. The communication with the techs and front office is excellent, and Scotts team is continually looking for better ways to produce a healthier lawn.

Mark and Bridgett were both great to work with, and their work crew is amazing too - super hard workers, friendly, polite. Mark is very creative and knowledgeable, and will work with you to make your ideas a reality, while adding in suggestions of his own if you want them. I have a difficult, very shady back yard, and Mark was very flexible and enthusiastic as we refined the plan to come up with a great solution for what to do with it. I had a lot of questions, which were all responded to quickly. I am very, very pleased with the result. Mark also took care of some drainage issues for me. I will be using Pleasant Green Grass again in the near future to do some additional work on the front side of the house.

I would highly recommend Pleasant Green Grass for any landscaping projects!! They installed sod and did some hardscape projects in my yard. It has been over a year and the yard is gorgeous!!! I had their service for about a year. Before I hired them by back yard was in good shape, but the front yard didnt have much grass. It is a newer home (~ 2 years old) with bermuda grass. Over the course of the year my back yard went from nice grass to now 80% crabgrass. The front yard looks greener and and there is some more grass, but there are significantly more weeds. Keep in mind that I had no treatments done to the yard before they took over. Also, they did not do the soil test at first like they said they were going to, and they charged me for it. At the end of my year they realized the mistake, and did the soil test. They were treating my yard blind for a year. When I complained about all the weeds, and about how my back yard has no grass left I was told that I was looking for a quick fix and that maybe I would be better off with a chemical company. If in one year they turned my grass into weeds, how many years do I need to keep paying them to get pleasant green grass? 5 years? 10 years? When I received a warning letter from my HOA because of all the weeds I decided to cancel my service with them.

I was impressed and pleased at every step this past fall as my requests for evaluation and service were responded to immediately, and the follow up work was done to high standards of thoroughness and attention to detail. There is a field staff and an office staff, and all cared and payed attention to my particular needs, adjusting service and timing according to the weather and my yards condition at the time and answering my questions promptly. They even sent someone out to show me how to water properly and what equipment I needed. Although its too soon to see the full results, I know Im working with a company that cares and wants to get it right, and will go extra steps to make it happen. Im also really glad to be working with a company that cares about the environment and actually knows how to do organic lawn treatments. My previous experience with another company was a flop, as they are really a grass cutting service and did not follow through with caring for my lawns long term health and changing needs.

Five years ago, I had employed Pleasant Green Grass to analyze my soil, fertilize, and aerate/reseed. After a while, I had the best looking lawn on the street. Unfortunately, I was laid off from work and had to let them go. I tried to keep up with the lawn needs, but within two years the lawn was weed-filled, spotty and sick-looking. I contacted Scott Walker from Pleasant Green Grass earlier this year to help restore my lawn and after testing the soil, aerating/reseeding and composting, the lawn now looks great! I went back to Pleasant Green Grass because they respond to my questions and concerns, arrive as scheduled, and use organic, natural material, which is important to me because I raise chickens. Pleasant Green Grass got the job done right.

Just started using them this spring (2017) and so far they have been very responsive and the lawn is looking better than it has in years. They did soil testing and then applied lime/gypsum, organic top soil, did seeding and weed control. Not cheap, but whats your lawn worth? Once its in shape, just keep doing the right things and property values keep going up based on curb appeal. A junk lawn costs you thousands when you go to sell. Think ahead. Big picture, etc.

Honestly, my grass was terrible. My dogs ripped it up every winter and the weeds took over every summer. It was embarrassing. Best thing I ever did for myself was let pleansant green come in and work their magic. Plus no chemicals that couls hurt my dogs!!

This service took over lawn care for my neighborhood about a year ago. In my opinion, they are the worst service we have had. They left leaves from two different trees down all winter and spring killing much of the grass around my home. When I noticed because of the standing water and drainage problems it created it took weeks and multiple emails before the leaves were removed. I was told the areas would be reseeded. After several more weeks that was only partially done. I finally spent $60 on grass seed to finish the job myself. The workers have on multiple occasions moved things like my basketball goal, my trash cans, my childrens wagon directly behind my garage door. I contacted the owner to ask that they not move items in my yard behind my garage door when it first happened (and on all subsequent occasions) because I almost hit the items pulling out as I was working from home. I have made at least 4 requests about this but it continues in a way that seems passive aggressive and scary. I offered that they could mow around the trash cans and basketball goals and that I would move them if needed.My dogs outdoor leash was run over twice and destroyed. Even though it was in an area that should have been mulched months ago, I was told they werent responsible for items left on my lawn as stated in the contract with my homeowners association. When I asked for a copy of the contract the owner stopped responding and didnt provide it until I posted a negative review on Yelp.They recently ran over my neighbors pipe cap for the second time and destroyed it. The first time this happened the house was on the market and a member of the HOA board fixed it. I let the owner, the board, and my neighbor know. It took at least two weeks for the service to fix it. To prevent further damage my neighbors covered the hole with a bucket. The area is adjacent to my home but not on my property yet the workers removed the bucket and threw it behind my garage while mowing this week. I was home and heard it hit my driveway and roll behind my garage then looked out a window and saw a worker walking away. However, when I contacted the owner instead of apologizing he told me the worker set it down by my house and that they hadnt moved any of the other items that ended up behind my garage on the days they came to mow (as I mentioned, I often work from home and Ive seen them do it twice). He accused the garbage collectors of walking up my 30 foot drive way to move those things because they come on the same day (no, this did not happen). If I had control over the contract that is administered through the homeowners association we would not use this service. Hire at your own risk.

Weve been working with Scott about 4 years and always had great service and support . Growing fescue in NC can be quite challenging but we are winning the battle without the use of toxic chemicals.

This company uses high quality products that I cannot find anywhere else. I almost lost my lawn with the cooler, wet temps extending into the Spring. I spent $800 and most of the summer on other services, landscapers, agronomists and products. But the lawn was still stressed and not coming back.After consulting with a greenskeeper at a golf course, he recommended topping the soil. PGG was one of the few companies to even offer this service...and for a very fair price. When they came, it was a light dusting all over the top of my lawn. On the day of application, I had different visions of what topping was and I was disappointed at the small amount of material they put in the property. I thought I had wasted even more money.But the organic material they used was something magical; way more active than premium products I had used like Big Daddy Petes. Within a day or two the transformation was obvious. Within a month, I had the thickest, greenest lawn on the block. Now I complain about how hard is it to mow my thick, lush lawn. I am working this into my annual lawn care routine. Its a do not miss, like overseeding and aeration.Very grateful for this group! Highly recommend.

I hope to have a lot more good things to say about Pleasant Green in a few years. Ive been through 2 entire years with them for treatment of my zoysia lawn already and am still a little on the fence as to whether or not an all natural approach to lawn care is feasible. Its obviously preferrable to having our kids and dog unwittingly bringing petrochemicals into our house all the time, not to mention what they do to local waterways. So, were pretty committed to trying.I hope to have a lot more good things to say about Pleasant Green in a few years. So, were pretty committed to trying. Each year there do seem to be fewer and fewer weeds. But there are still plenty of them. Fortunately, weve got a smaller yard, so getting around to remove them before they go to seed is possible, albeit a time sink Id looked forward to ditching with a professional lawn service on board. And crab grass is starting to be a problem. Im not sure theres much Pleasant Green can do about it. All things considered, Im sure my lawn looks better than it would if I was to do nothing to treat it (although zoysia is quite a weed). But I hope that a couple more years of Pleasant Greens regularly scheduled treatments, will get me pretty darn close to weed free.
