Dr, Dan Loban is a great dentist. He has all of the state of the art tools to do the job right. His staff is knowledgeable and friendly. He is the best dentist on the hill. You can trust him to do the right thing and take excellent care of you.

We move a lot, do I have seen a lot a dentists in my life.. Dr. Loban is by far the BEST dentist I have ever met. Over the past two years I have had two extractions (one implant process started), two root canals, and several fillings done, and every time his work is excellent and my experiences have all been wonderful (as wonderful as a dental visit can be). The dental assistants are nice and friendly, as is the office staff.

Dr. Loban is honestly the best! He does amazing work, he’s very dedicated to getting his patients the best results possible. I have a fear of dentists and Dr Loban and his staff have made me feel safe and comfortable every visit. I am beyond grateful to him he has helped me more then he will ever know!

Had a good experience for both my husband and I. Jodi and Lisa are good dental hygienists and clean teeth without pain.The doctor was also good. The only comment would be the same for all dentists that they could spend a few extra minutes with their patients.

I switched to Dr Loban recently due to insurance change. Most reviews were good, friendly staff, the office was clean, etc. My first appt was an annual cleaning and exam. Nothing special to report although I felt it took way longer than usual. The hygienist even got distracted by the tv a few times which seemed unusual. My 2nd appt was for a routine filling, a very small cavity. The appt seemed fine and normal. Other than a few odd comments and behavior from the dentist. He even remarked about my chubby cheeks to the hygienist like I couldn’t hear him. The procedure went fine but I had noticed the water had a funky taste. It made me gag once or twice. But I didn’t think much of it until later. Within 24 hours I became violently ill. Like the worst stomach bug I’ve had in years. Fever, violent vomiting non stop for 10 hours and diarrhea. I know it was the water and or the dental equipment not being cleaned properly. I have a good friend who is a hygienist and she agreed it was the dentist who made me sick. No one else in my family or at my office got sick this week. Just me. So I think it’s safe to rule out any food poisoning. Dental equipment needs to be properly flushed out and sterilized. I had to miss a day of work and could’ve been hospitalized I was so sick. I still days later can’t eat much and have headaches from dehydration. I won’t be returning to Dr Loban ever again.

Friendly staff, although the dentist did not inspire confidence. I went in with a sore tooth. They took a few x-rays and then the dentist told me he thought I needed a crown (on a tooth next to the one I told him was hurting). He didnt seem too confident, but wanted to book me for the appointment. I wasnt comfortable with that plan, so I drove three hours away for a second opinion from a trusted dentist Ive seen in the past. My trusted dentist took better x-rays and told me I didnt need a crown at all. The problem was actually a loose filling on the next tooth over. He fixed it and my mouth feels great! Im glad I got a second opinion.

The office and bathrooms in this dental office are extremely clean. My case was a very complicated case required extraction and additional work. Dr is extremely knowledgeable and very thoughtful of his patients, his assistant has an extensive background in oral surgery experience. A little short story to start:I used to live in Ohio and had the majority of my dental work done in that state. One weekend, I experienced an issue with a cracked tooth and had to head to an emergency care facility as an abscess started to grow out of control in the roof of my mouth. This abscess was cut open with a scalpel, drained, and the tooth was pulled in its entirety. I was told by the dental professional that this cracked tooth was the cause of my abscess and it needed to be pulled. I had the abscess drained a total of three more times.Over the past 12 months, Ive dealt with multiple dentists out of Ohio. Specifically, I had one gentleman that physically leaned his knee into my chest and yanked an impacted tooth out of my mouth - not to mention he cut part of the tooth in front of the one he pulled, so this adds to future dental work. The anesthesia was sub-par, the professional care and respect was non-existent, and the needles that were used to provide relief were extremely painful. This scared me from wanting to go back to any dentist from that point forward.Fast forward a year, I am now living in Duluth and the abscess returns. Scared out of my mind, I decide to let the abscess continue to grow as I did not want to deal with finding a proper dentist based on previous experiences. Finally, at my breaking point, I decide to look at Dentists in the area and I make a phone call to Lobans Dentistry.I am SO glad I decided to do so. I called and expressed my concerns to Daniel and his team and I was taken care of immediately. They called me back and asked me to come in right away so they could look at the abscess. Upon arriving, they looked at the abscess and decided to put me on some antibiotics to take care of the infection. They follow up with a 360 degree X-Ray and Mr. Loban sits down with me personally and explains that Ill need a root canal and crown.Fast forward another week and the infection is already feeling miles ahead of where it was previously. As I go in for my appointment, I express my concerns of needles and pain to the lovely staff at the front, the supporting dental assistant, and Mr. Loban himself. I was given Nitrous and a topical treatment on the gums for the insertion of the needle.Five minutes in, I ask the nice dental assistant when the needle is supposed to be injected and she responds Its already done! - What a LOVELY team. For the first time ever, I experienced NO pain with a needle going directly into my gums. I didnt think it was possible, but Lobans dentistry pulled it off and made me feel incredibly secure and respected as a customer.Mr. Loban and his staff had such extremely understanding personalities. They were understanding of my past experiences and of the past pain that I had endured. They listened to me, provided re-assurance, and worked diligently and quickly to provide me as much of a pain-free experience as possible.Mr. Loban is fantastic and his entire team is full of understanding and compassionate people. I am in significantly less pain than I was previously and its all thanks to Loban Dentistry! The team is wonderful and extremely understanding of their customers previous experiences. As long as I am in the Duluth area, I will never go to another Dentist. Mr. Loban and his team have made a customer out of me for life.Please, if youre afraid of needles, or, if youve endured terrible experiences in the past and youre looking for a dedicated, professional, and understanding team - then Loban Dentistry is right for you. I am so happy and thrilled with how I was treated that I began having joyful tears as soon as I left the building.Dealing with dental pain is terrible enough in and of itself - no one should have to deal with excruciating pain at a Dentist office where theyre supposed to make you feel safe and secure. Now, thanks to Loban Dentistry, I dont need to be scared anymore. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Im writing this on behalf of my husband who was just at Loban Dental as a new patient he was NOT impressed by this office whatsoever. I have worked as a dental assistant prior to moving to Duluth so he and I know the level of care expected when establishing care at a new office.1. The dentist never formally introduced himself to my husband when he came in for his exam.2. Zero small talk took place during my husbands entire visit. Neither the hygienist or the dentist asked about any of my husbands oral habits or cared to get to know him. (My husband has an oral sleep appliance he uses nightly. It sat on my husbands lap the entire visit, none offered to clean it or even to look at it, which is routine)3. Period probing was NOT done properly (checking for gum recession/pockets, gum disease)Just not a welcoming environment overall unfortunately. We were looking to establish long term care in our new city and now we have to keep searching.
