Um...ouch during part of the pedicure. It did look good though. Ill have to revisit and try a different technician. Very nice massage chairs and atmosphere.

I wanna preface this by saying that if I could give this place 0 stars, I would.I had an appointment for the first time here at 1pm. I check in at 12:50pm. They seat me, I pick out colors and just wait. 1:05pm rolls around. Which totally no big deal, they seem busy so I dont mind waiting a few extra minutes. Than 1:10 rolls around (still cool with me), than 1:15, than 1:20... . Finally at 1:30 I explain to the receptionist that my appointment was at 1pm and if she knows when I might be seated. They say another 20 minutes and ask if I wanna be rescheduled. No explanation or apology was offered, the receptionist was incredibly rude.Im cool with waiting a few minutes after my appointment time but an hour after? With incredibly bad customer service too? Nah, Id spend my money elsewhere.

Wonderful! My pedicure massage was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep. My manicure was great. Everyone was very professional and efficient. Ill be back!!

My daughter and I had an appointment for 12:30 and arrived 10 min early to pick out our colors. However, we were not seated in a chair until 12:50 and continued to sit there until 1:15 when we decided to leave without receiving services. No apology or reason for the delay was given, and they didn’t seem to care that we had wasted 45 min of our time after we made an appointment over a week in advance. We will never return and continue to share our bad experience with everyone we know.

Incredibly rude owners who charge too much for basic nails. The male owner is very unprofessional and treats his customers badly. He raised his voice at me and argued with me for no reason and the only reason I stayed to get my nails done is because it was the only time I had that week. I was told I needed to schedule an appointment for designs, which is totally fine, and I was okay with just getting gel but he started yelling at me before I could say anything. I was so upset I almost cried but luckily my nail tech Maria was so nice. He also rushes through his client’s nails and my sisters nails were so bad she had to get them redone somewhere else. I have spoken to other people who have gotten their nails done by him and they have said the same thing. Making an appointment is pretty much useless because you will be waiting at least 25 minutes after your scheduled appointment time. The rest of the staff are nice and probably the only reason people come back.

I’m in Duluth for a wedding and my nail polish chipped and I just stopped in just to even see if I can get squeezed in. Thankfully they took me in right away and jimmy did a fantastic job! Thank you guys so much for squeezing me in!

All the salons I go to always use OPI and they are less expensive.Mani: nail tech literally ripped off my dip from last time instead of soaking. That hurts!! I got no manicure/trimming of cuticles and he said he was in a hurry and you could tell. The dip is super thick on my nails and I think it is because I was in a rush.Pedi: was great! First time getting gel polish and it was very clean. I wish my tip would have gone solely to my pedicure technician.

All clients and staff are properly masked and physically distanced. Appointments limited to allow distancing between work stations. Plexiglass barriers at all stations between client and technician. All clients to must wash hands upon entering the building and before exiting as well! Stations are sanitized between clients. Our family highly recommends Pearl nails!

First off, I came in for a full set and he had to remove my pervious nails and he did that by basically pulling off my last set. This led to my pinky nail bleeding under the nail. He then proceeded to sand down my nail and basically put a hole in my thumb nail. Then he asked how I wanted them finished and I said matte and they are currently shiny so didn’t even listen to what I wanted. He was in such a HURRY because they clearly overbooked that I don’t even think he could name the color I wanted at the end. I will never be going back here again. Horrible, horrible way to treat someone that wanted something very basic and normal.

I went there for an appointment today with my sister for 5:15 and sat there for 30 minutes. Another person walked in for a 6:00 appointment & was 20 minutes early and they took her before us.

Not happy with the service at all. 1st I was sitting for over 20 mins with the foil on my nails then my nails were so weak that they were bending badly. Then I was getting the dip french done and the guy went extremely fast and didnt pay attention to my nails and how they looked! Lastly I was supposed to have a manicure and that never happened they ever forgot about me when my nails were in the foil!! Dont recommend at all

I went in for my birthday with a friend. we scheduled to have a manicure done, not acrylics, we showed up and They separated us and sat me down and the technician started putting acrylics on! But first I didn’t mind necessarily, but he didn’t push up my cuticles so when I got home they look like they had already grown out. Then didn’t tell me how much it was so I ended up paying $115 for two manicures :( The only reason I’m giving us a two star is because the people are nice. But otherwise I would not recommend

I used to go here all the time last year. I really liked it at first(about the first 5 appointments) but since those appointments, I’ve been less than pleased with the fact that they try to get you in and out as soon as possible. I can understand that this week was spring break and they were pretty busy, but maybe they shouldn’t overbook in attempt to maximize profits. The service itself was rushed and painful because I was squeezed in between another appointment, even though my appointment was made a week and a half prior. I’ve also gone in for a full set multiple times and never once have I had to pay $58 dollars. I got pink and white acrylic powder, meaning you don’t even have to use gel polish over it besides the top coat. So without gel polish, and knowing I used acrylic powder, why was I charged $58 for a rushed and less than admirable experience? Also, being charged extra for the shape of the nails and so called “gel powder”(that’s not a real thing, they call it a gel full set because it’s supposed to be a GEL not a powder), it’s ridiculous. My roommates technician was consistently trying to get her to spend more money by asking her to use the gel powder and changing the shape of her nails so he could get an extra $6 out of the appointment. My other roommate didn’t get nearly what she wanted out of her nails and is going back home this weekend to get them fixed before our trip. All in all, for being the best nail salon in Duluth that I’ve been to, this place isn’t great. I’m going back to doing my own acrylics.

Got a gel manicure, it was chipping within a week. It was done quickly and sloppily. The sides of my nails didnt have polish on them. The top coat was all over my skin and had rough edges. Way overpriced for bad quality.

Ly did my nails and they were so well done and beautiful, and let me tell you my nails are not easy to do since i nite them. The shop itself is very clean and everyone working there is extremely nice. Definitely will be going back!

Someone recommended Jimmy here, so I made an appointment and was quite disappointed because I had heard so many good things. I always get coffin shape and I don’t get them super long. I’ve gotten the same shape and length for over 3 years and he insisted longer would look better and that’s how long coffin shape is suppose to be, so I didn’t continue to argue. They are way to long and he started gluing the tips on and didn’t touch my natural nails which I thought was weird. The next day 2 nails chipped and it hasn’t even been a week and they look horrible! Also while I was getting them done, he was arguing about a customer with the receptionist, very unprofessional. I won’t come back here .

I’ve never had my nails done (I got acrylics), the staff were extremely kind. Everything was good with the technician until she started painting my nails, it’s very clumpy at the top and she didn’t paint anywhere close to my nail bed and it looks a little strange. I wish she would have painted the full nail because they look as if they are growing out. But it was a decent experience after all.

This is by far the best nail salon on the North shore. And Ly is my favorite.

Sorry to say worst pedi ever. 50.00 gift from my daughter, didnt even need to do polish. Poor prep, lazy leg massage, terrible nail trim. So sorry my sweet daughter spent 50.00 for this. Lady who did hers did wonderful job. Owner did mine... obviously not into it I have 25.00 pedi in Jacksonville Florida much better. May go back for redo but not by same person. Ugh.

Jimmy did my nails I arrived way early for my appointment and he was way late. I told him what I wanted and said I got you. Well he don’t got me I asked for thick and wide nails and I got narrow thin nails and he rushed with my nails. yesterday a nail broke I won’t be going back paid 59$ for a set never again over priced and poor quality

I’ve gotten my nails done here twice and had a great experience both times. The atmosphere was inviting, the staff was lovely and enjoyable. One of the best manicures I’ve had! I plan on continuing to go here and would definitely recommend.

Great experience! Ive never had nails put on before and I couldnt be any happier! I got a full set of gel nails with glitter powder and they turned out really pretty! They were pretty busy when I went in, but still managed to honor all appointments and take in walks in as well without keeping people wait too long. The front desk gal was very very nice and helped me out since I was clueless on what to do. My technician was very friendly and very speedy, but in a good way! Thank you guys! If I can get used to having long nails I will surely come back here :)

As a customer for probably 10 years I highly recommend Pearl Nails. After all these years of wearing gel nails I just tried the new dipping powder nails. Not only are they healthier for my own nails, they are absolutely beautiful!!! The folks who do nails and pedicures are all professional and friendly. Before my first visit to Pearl Nails I tried several other salons in Duluth. As a retired nail tech Pearl Nails is absolutely the best nail salon I have ever visited!!!! Thank you Pearl Nails!!!

Stopped in for a pedicure. Sat for 25 minutes with my feet in the water. No one came over to start my pedicure. Got up and left. Wouldnt waste time on this place.

I made appointments on December 20th to get a gel manicure and pedicure and for my mom to get a pedicure before we went on vacation for Christmas. Knowing they would be busy right before the holidays, I made sure we had appointments! However, making an appointment didn’t make a difference because they accommodated every single walk-in that came in. It’s clear this place just wants to get as many people in and out as quickly as possible to maximize their profits. My gel manicure was very rushed and not relaxing at all. Lien, who did my manicure finished in 10 minutes, and was onto the next client. She did a poor job of shaping my nails, some were uneven, and the edges were left rough. She also didn’t put a gel base coat on or wrap the tips when painting my nails. Chad, who did my pedicure did a good job, but I noticed Lien finished 3 more manicures in the time I got my pedicure. When I said I was unhappy with my manicure, Lien was happy to fix it, however she blamed the rough edges on my “thin nails”. Once she fixed it, I was happier with the look and feel of my nails, however a good gel manicure should last 2 weeks, one of my nails chipped the very next day, before I even left for vacation! More nails chipped within the next couple days. I intentionally got a gel manicure so my nails would look nice throughout my vacation, but they didn’t even last a day! I’m very disappointed and wish I could take my tip back. This place is overpriced for the quality of service they are giving. Customers with appointments should be given priority over walk-ins and should not have to have their service rushed to accommodate walk-ins. I will not be going back to Pearl Nails.

I am always pleased with the work done. This is my go to spot for pedicures. My polish is always excellent and the space is clean and relaxing.

Went for a pedicure. The guy that did my nails worked fast and did not do very well. He started after the guy next to us and finished much before him. The color didnt stay on even a week. He didnt go all the way to the edges, didnt buff, cut short without asking and I dont think he put anything else on except the color. I dont like paying 39 for that.

I get my nails done here every two weeks. The employees are so kind and they do an amazing job! I would never go anywhere else the best nail place in Duluth. 10/10 fantastic

When we first walked in, the place was very nice. The technition I had was really rough with my nails. He cut one of my fingers. He was just overall really rough. He also seemed to be rushing to get my nails done. It wasnt a very good experience.

After living in Duluth for 20+ years and going to multiple nail salons I would say this is the best one in town. They are very professional, clean, they have amazing customer service, and they won’t over book appointments and make you wait like many salons in Duluth will. My nails have always been perfect when coming to Pearl Nails and I’m extremely picky when it comes to my nails. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. They also have a lot of new gel colors that I absolutely love and haven’t seen anywhere else in town!! This is definitely the place to go!!

I ABSOLUTELY love this place. I have had pretty terrible experiences other places, but have never had a bad experience at all here. I have been coming here regularly for about a year and a half! Ly just does such an amazing job on my nails!!

I got the SNS dip. Only 2 days after it was done, the top gel clear coat started peeling back, and in less than a week most of my nails were chipped or broken. I also asked for rounded nails but they are square. I am from out of town, and my only option was to drive the 2.5 hours back to the nail salon to have them fix it. I would not recommend Pearl Nails for dip. Definitely way over-priced, I get much higher quality dip nails for a better price in Minneapolis.

Emily (I believe that was her name) gave me a pedicure this morning. She was kind, thorough, and detail oriented. She gave me the best foot/leg massage Ive ever received with a pedicure - and Ive been getting pedicures for almost 20 years. :-). My feet and polished toes look and feel great! I loved it here! I called for 4 pedi and 1 fill for a Lady Business Weekend trip yesterday and got in the next day. Great service. I inquired about in-home service but Jimmy doesnt travel out of state. ☹️

Very clean and nice people but this was by far the worst pedicure I have ever had. from the technicians long fingernails that he used to gouge into my skin to hold it away from my nail, to not trim in leg the nails for ingrown nails, and not speaking a lick of english. I’m on vacation and needed a pedicure, ran out of time back home, this place had good reviews and was open early to fit into my days itinerary. But don’t come here if you want a relaxing experience.

They have a huge selection of nail polish and are very organized. I am usually very very happy when I leave. Yesterday, I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I love my nails but my pedicure could have been better.

Disclaimer: I’ve have limited experience with pedicures (I’ve had 3 total).This place was really nice and update. Seems new in the last few years. I’m not on campus much so I’m not sure. Pedicure was good, lacking a little on exfoliating, but my feet get gross so it was good for what they had to work with. Massage chairs are always nice. I could ha e gone for more foot/calf massage or at least a little more warm water soak time, but I’m not sure if I just picked the base package or not. My wife was happy with the results, but also commented on the lack of extra stuff (like the paraffin wax and massage). I would go back for sure, but the best I’ve had.

The employee lied and said it would last a whole month so when it started peeling in a week. I was told again it only lasts a week. The also filed my nails so poorly that it took weeks of me growing it out for it to be right.

I have been here twice. The first time for a gel manicure with Lein and the second time for a basic pedicure with Tammy. The place is super clean, despite being really busy. There was a wait, and they were running late, but it was all worth it. There isnt anyplace else Ill go, in Duluth!

I had a pretty good experience here! They were able to fit me in last-minute for a full set and I still made it to my wedding rehearsal on time. The nail tech was super friendly and professional, and efficient but careful. My nails look great and exactly the length and shape I wanted.The only thing I would be aware of is they may use MMA liquid and not EMA for the acrylics. MMA is harder on your nails and if your nail bed is filed too thin it can penetrate deeper and damage your nail bed. I’m not 100% sure they use MMA, but most places that use it wear masks and it has a weird fruity odor.I also wanted to note that my nails hurt quite a bit the evening after and the next day. Whether he filed too much or gave the nails too much of a curve or they fit poorly I don’t know, but they typically shouldn’t hurt.

Having an appointment means nothing. They spent maybe a total of 10 minutes in my manicure whereas when I go to Qnails, they spend a good 20-25 minutes on my nails. I have polish on my cuticles and my nail technician couldn’t seem to keep the polish just on my nails. Disappointed.

Here for work in Duluth. Pearl came highly recommended by the locals. I went in for a gel pedicure 5/22/19. This became the pedicure from hell. The technician who started my service was horrible. Nice gentleman but very poor with the technique. From the beginning I was highly disappointed. He did not clean out my toes which i had to ask him to do, he proceeded to paint my toes and I immediately cautioned him about how my toes where being painted. I was then told by another technician that he was going to take over. When the technician Jimmy, came over he said just relax this isnt Atlanta being that i am from Atlanta. I proceeded to tell him that I was on the verge of giving the business a one star review, he got upset and told me to leave. He snatched the towel from under my feet which is assault and started raving in front of customers. He claimed that i wasnt nice to his staff, however another technician 2 seats down whispered I am so sorry. If i wasnt nice to the staff, i should have been asked to leave prior to that. He proceeded to call the police and told them i owed him $47 for a service that was rendered. I travel for 100% for work and I have never had to deal with such despicable service, Jimmy also cautioned me and told me if I realized what city I was in. To me that statement was so prejudice. I am a professional and I pride in good customer service. Jimmy went back and forth with me while i was recording him in front of customers until the police arrived. Judging from the demographics in Duluth, the African American community is mostly low income and also not a large number. With that being said, I refused to pay for a full service that was never rendered. It is despicable for him to tell the police that they rendered a full service which was untrue, act in that manner in front of customers and then snatch a towel from under my feet. I will be Consulting with a lawyer ASAP. If i could give 0 star i would. I am so appalled by the unprofessionalism displayed. African Americans are humans and should be treated with utmost respect just like you would treat any other paying customer of a different race.

Its a really nice salon and very friendly staff. I was there during graduation week and it was crazy busy. I waited about 45 minutes past my appointment time- they had overbooked for sure. However, Im going on four weeks with my gel manicure with no chipping! They stress that they want to make customers happy, so SPEAK up if theres something you are not satisfied with!

Honestly, not worth going here. I scheduled an appointment for 2 pedicures and a manicure for my step daughters birthday. She didnt even get a manicure, just a rushed polish. The nail tech was working on 2 people at once and barely took time to even sit and paint her nails. I had a pedicure and my polish looks like trash. Only one coat was applied and there are visible steak Marks on my nails. I couldve done a better job myself.

My 12 and 14 year old daughters and I all had manicures here recently on a trip to Duluth. We really enjoyed our time at Pearl Nails and Spa. The three people working on us were very friendly and did a really nice job. The atmosphere is pretty and open and the people were very easy to visit with but not pushy. Owners are really sweet people. Check this place out!

I am very happy with the service I have gotten from Lock. Ive had others at pearl nails do my nails and I have not been as satisfied. Lock takes his time and is very precise. I went to a different salon about a year ago and they caused me pain when they sanded my nails. I read online that a manicure is not supposed to be painful so I thought I would try this fairly new salon. I am very satisfied.

They do excellent work. However as a transgender woman there is only 1 girl willing to do my nails that is qualified to do my tips. She is overbooked and even with an appointment I usually have to wait an hour.

Bought my wife a pedicure from there and it was the only place that was helpful to me.

My mom and I visited for the first time, and we were greatly impressed! THe shop is beautiful and clean. Our pedicures looked wonderful! We never felt rushed through the process and appreciated the thorough care and attention. We will definitely be back!

Went in as a walk-in and they were able to help me within 5 minutes, granted it was a Tuesday around 1. Ly helped me out and he was so great! Funny and friendly and did a wonderful job with giving me an acrylic full set with almond shape. I learned that they have a $3 extra charge for the almond, coffin, and stiletto shapes - I suppose it takes some extra time and talent. Overall very very pleased with how they turned out. A huge problem I’ve always run into with getting acrylic is the excess powder/gel getting stuck to my skin or underneath the nail tips - that was not the case with Ly here, he did such a beautiful and clean job, I am still blown away!

I have had such bad experiences at the salons in Duluth but Pearl is amazing!Vesi (sorry spelling?) was wonderful. He listened to what I wanted. He was friendly, gentle, and quick! I didnt feel like he was about to rip my damn finger off Like some other places 😒I will definitely be back soon!

My 9 year old daughter has been getting her nails and toes done here for several years- We Have always received great service, until today. Unfortunately, we were late by 10 min. I called and the lady said it was ok. We arrive and 3 clients came after us, at that time I was not happy and asked if my daughter was going to be served. A male worker yelled across the room, after my daughter and I were seated again, and said “you were late and customers on time will be seen first.” I shared he didn’t have to be so rude. Wouldn’t you know it, this male was the person who was going to serve my daughter. He was kind to her and when he couldn’t hear her, she talks very softly, I asked my daughter to talk so he could hear him. At this point, the male worker asked “ are we going to do this.” I said yes, and tried to explain why I was upset, he proceeded to talk over me. I asked him not to and to listen to what I was saying. At that time he stated “ you are making me uncomfortable and I am not going to have you ruin my day.” I asked at that time to speak to the manager or owner- he said he was the owner and manager and walked away and took another client. My daughter sat there confused. I asked again at the front desk who the owner was- and they said it was him. I said it was a shame- poor customer service. I have never experienced being treated so poorly that someone could not listen. It all could have been solved if the woman on the phone who said it would be ok to be 10 minutes late said we would have to wait until the next available time- I would have rescheduled our appointment- hence the reason I called to state I would be late.

Went here with my bridesmaids before my wedding and it was ok. They were obviously quite busy and seemed very rushed.... Maybe during weekdays it would be a better experience. Beautiful, clean indoor space though.

Emily gave me a full set & pedicure, she was very sweet & took her time but unfortunately her nails were so long she had some issues doing mine like she was trying to not mess her own nails up while doing mine, I feel she would of performed better if her own nails werent so long. the full set took about an hour & nail polish was poor quality it dried cracked I was told it was due to new top coat, I was disappointed when I left.

I just got done at Pearl Nails, and it was my first time going here because I am from the cities, but I had heard good reviews. However, I was over charged, ripped off, and was asked to give a tip after confronting the man about the price. I will not go here again and would not recommend unless you can afford an arm and a leg just to get your nails done.

Honestly I wouldnt go anywhere else to get my nails done. Ive been going here ever since they opened. Everybody in the shop goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and they really take their time to give you quality service.

Made an appt at 4:15- didn’t seem to matter- was sat waiting for over half and hour. I’m heavily pregnant so sitting in the scents of a nail salon is not my fav which is why I made an appt. Once nail tech got started it took FOREVER. I was finished almost two hours later.... no apologies, nothing. My nails look fine, but if you offer appt times then you should honor them. I was also quoted a lower price than I was charged, but only by $5. Anyways, hoping this review will help the salon value their clients’ time more.

I have never been to a place that does your nails so far away from your cuticles. I had then done 1 week ago, I have already lost 2, theyre bulky and extremely too thick and looks so grown out as if Ive had them on for a month! Very, very disappointed. I even spoke with the Owner and wasnt too accommodating for me. Just highly unimpressed. I will never return there.
