A little confusing when you enter, as all the barbers operate independently and there is no main reception area. One was kind enough to explain the situation to us and we were very happy to wait as walk ins.

I have some severe anxiety when it comes to getting my hair cut. I have really long hair and yes, theres damage but I just want it trimmed. EVERY female I have gone to takes off so much and I leave in tears. First time in a barber shop and Mark was recommended by a friend of mine so I took the chance. He listened to exactly what I asked and I actually asked him to take a little more off. First time I felt like I could breathe during a hair cut. By the end, I was done shaking and, for the first time in 4 years, I didnt cry on my way out the door. Ladies, if you only want a trim, Mark is your guy. He now has a loyal customer every month.

Mark understands how to provide above and beyond customer service. The price is absolutely unbeatable as a typical cut is $13. I will be going as long as he is there.

I like going here. Its really an old time barber experience like Ive been used to all my life. Comfortable chairs to wait, familiar barbers faces, and cuts as requested. See the same barber more than twice and they will remember your style. The clientele at the times of day I go tend to be older guys like me who love America, so we and the barbers have great conversations. But, dont think this place is just for geezers.LOL They do a great job on younger men who still have hair to work with!

I use to come here and get my beard trimmed and my hairs cut. It was worth the drive from Panama City. Would be nice if you could make an appointment to get in. After calling all week and no answer, I drove up and the place was packed. Maybe I’ll try again sometime in the future.?

👆That’s not my real name lol. I created this fake email to hide from some things, but this is not one of them. I’m from a small town in New York, and got my cut the same place for 29 and a half years. They always did a good job. But, when I came here, I told the barber to cut everything off the sides and do what she wants with on top. Some barbers would literally just cut everything off the sides and that was it. She did that, and then very carefully trimmed the top with scissors. She spent a good amount of time to make sure it was right. Never had a barber pay that much attention to detail and I loved it because I am so into detail myself. She spent as much time as possible making my hair look good without dragging it on. I was very happy that I chose Southern Man Barbershop as my first southern haircut. Already getting compliments from the ladies and it’s only been a couple hours

Took my 3 year old grandson about a month or so ago to y’all! Brooke did a great job on his hair. Keeping him calm and explaining to a 3 yr old that the clipper and scissors won’t hurt you. After reading all the good reviews I was pretty excited about trying this place. My haircut was fast, and there wasn’t a wait at all. However, my haircut was definitely a rushed job. When I got home I realized that tufts of hair were standing well above my close fade. The fade was uneven and my wife had to tidy it up a bit with scissors. My hard part was also widened to a point where the Mississippi River would be jealous. I only paid ten bucks but prices are not posted. They’ll tell you at the end what you owe. The atmosphere was also pretty awkward. Essentially I think I just got what I paid for. I’ll wait a couple days and go to someone else to fix it.

Love the Atmosphere. It has an authentic Barber shop feel offering up a early 1900s Southern Charm that shines true with the shops nuances like the Bourbon Bar, and rustic Andy Griffith era mystique. The mystique isnt the only thing with an Andy Griffith era feel. They have obviously taken into account the working mans budget by offering standard cut/trim for only $10, as well as additional services(Beard trim, shampoo, straight razor shave, etc.) costing even less than that. With their recent exoansion, I personally have never waited for a chair and I always walk-in. As you can probably guess, I highly recommend!

I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was confused about where to go the minute I walked in one of the doors. Nobody greated me so I took a seat where other patrons were seated. 45 minutes went by and I listened to Ashley ramble on about her familys health issues. The two laddies I could see only completed 1-2 haircuts during that time. The decor looks much better online than in person. It is wet and tacky in my opinion.

Their great the team of Mark and Shelby..both stylist are great..their is another side to this business..i have always gone to the smaller side..if you dont know what you want..show them a pic and theyll accommodate you with it..

My husband gets his haircut here and has finally found a barber he is happy with in the Dothan area. It took some shopping around. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. The only confusion is with the entrance. There are several doors and customers always seem confused as to where they should go in at. Signage could help with that on the exterior but thats not important. Husbands haircuts are always great and hes a regular now. Thanks Southern Man Barber Shop!!

Great barbershop with great barbers but apparently they dont have a fixed price for haircuts and each barber can change what they want. First time I went I paid $12 second time I went the same person charged me $18 and they stated that each Barber can charge a different price. I guess this barber got alot better in the month from my last visit.Maybe agree on a price before you sit down???

A great place for men to get their haircut. It is only $10 and usually very little wait when I go in. Note, this is a barbershop and they cater to men. But if you need a good barber, there are several here who will fit the bill.

Ive lived in Dothan for about 6 months now and only had my haircut once at Great Clips, which was mediocre. After asking all of my co-workers where I should get my haircut the general consensus was Southern Man. Im extremely selective about who I let cut my hair after having some really nightmarish haircuts. I went into Southern Man yesterday right before work waited about 7 minutes for my turn. I showed the woman a picture of one of the last good haircuts I had I showed the woman a picture of one of the last good haircuts I had, she looked at it for about 10 seconds and then said she was good. That automatically made me nervous and I closed my eyes and just waited to see the outcome.Not only was it the fastest haircut Ive ever had, but without a doubt the best. In the 10-second time period she looked at the picture she not only reproduced derricott, she made it better. I cannot sing Southern Mans praises enough. She literally gave me the best haircut Ive ever had, in the shortest amount of time, and then to top it all off, it was only $10! I wont go anywhere else for a haircut, and I suggest you dont either.Make sure you tip, they deserve every penny and more.

Went to get a haircut walked in they set me in a chair instantly the haircut was only ten bucks and they even put a hot towel on the back of my neck and shaved it. Then they added a cream it was very nice to see someone who still gives service to the customer

I went there to get my boys a haircut. Seeing as how Brooke did a decent job on them, I decided to give her a try, instead of going all the way to post as usual.I showed her a picture if a haircut I wanted and asked her if she could cut my hair that way. She said yes and I took a seat, explaining that I wanted that cut, to hide scars I got when I went to Iraq in 2003.Immediately, she cut my hair, using a low setting on the clippers, starting with the top middle of my head. Long story short....it looked like I had a basic training haircut. Not REMOTELY close to what I asked and what she agreed to. Personally, I think it was done intentionally and I will not bring my kids back there as long as shes employed.

Just a good, affordable haircut. Not alot of bells and whistles. Its not a salon, and although they will cut womens hair, it seems to be a place that caters more to male clientele, which is good, Dothan has enough salons. The only place Ive been locally where they will still use a straight razor too. Seems like they have someone there all the time, but during peak hours, youll still have a bit of a wait. Ive never had a bad haircut there. If you get there early, Mike does a really good job.

Definitely didn’t even remotely listen to how I wanted my haircut or bother to take a gander at the picture I showed her of MY HAIR. Asked for faux hawk like cut and to leave length on top. 1 at the bottom and move upward into a blend with the top. What I got was the doppelgänger haircut equivalent of the mange! She rushed through so fast I knew by the first clip of the scissors at the purported faux it was gonna be a disaster! #disrespectthegaurd #quantityoverquality
