Dr. Shannon has been taking care of our dogs for over 10 years. We recently had to say good bye to our old girl, and as a family, thats definetly one of the hardest things weve had to do. Emma would have been 13 this month, and our children are 10 and 13 . She was there their whole lives, loving them and protecting them.Dr. Shannon and her staff, will forever hold a special place in our hearts, for helping us get through that terrible time. I dont know how we would have managed without them.We are forever grateful for their compassion and professionalism.Emma was far from being one of Dr. Shannons easier patients, and we could never say thank you enough for the care she received.
I would trust my pets with no other Veterinary Clinic than Cherry Knolls. Highly qualified, AHAA certified, and an overall outstanding experience. =)
The staff at this office are Some of the most compassionate and understanding people I have ever come across. They truly love what they do and it shows. If you want your pet to be treated with the upmost care and not worry about being taken to The cleaners financially than this office is for you.
I have been going to this vet for almost 10 years. They used to be responsive and loving, and would bend over backwards to take care of our babies (two GSPs). Since Dr. Shannon took over (or maybe everyone quit? For clarity, Im aware this is her practice, but she has had other drs in the past -good ones- and they are all gone now) the prices have skyrocketed and Im lucky to get an appt in a week, for an urgent concern! My younger dog has a tooth that is broken off inside the gums, and parts of the tooth are dangling and turning black. I called the day it happened, and it took 6 days to get it evaluated! And the soonest they can get to it isnt for three weeks! Reading other reviews, Im not alone in thinking that Dr. Shannon has become waaaay to big for her britches, in what used to be a lovely little neighborhood vet clinic. We wont be going back. And considering the length of time weve been clients and the convenience of having the office just five blocks away, Im done. (Did I mention that she didnt even bother to talk to me about the surgery? She sent a tech out to my car with the estimate printed out. She clearly doesnt care anymore. Since I couldnt even go in for the exam because of their Covid policy, youd think a two minute conversation would be warranted for a nearly $1,000 procedure?!!?)***Response to owner***I am not one who runs to social media when I have a minor concern. Being previously inconvenienced didnt cause me to stop coming to your practice. The revolving door of employees and other drs wasnt something I cared for, but that wasnt why I wont be back.I most CERTAINLY told the receptionist/scheduler about my concern at the delay. She very directly told me that its two dental procedures per week and take it or leave it, which I also told her directly I was going to do. I told her at the time it was too expensive and I was worried about waiting that long because of infection concerns, and that I would be seeking care elsewhere. Neither she, nor the tech said it was a topic up for discussion.Based on the repetition of the types of problems being experienced at the clinic, I am clearly not the only person with concerns. (Is it really a 50% off when no one mentions it or when I just have to pay for the full price AGAIN when he comes for the procedure? An additional $47.00 is listed for another professional evaluation at time of procedure, sooo?)
My dog had surgery on Monday, 10/12/2020 and they kept me up to date and Dr Shannon explained everything to me. My dog was not eating or thriving the past couple days after surgery and they had me take him in today 10/15/2020 to give him fluids and didnt charge me. I highly recommend Cherry Knolls to trust them with your pet. I appreciate Dr Shannon and the staff very much.
This is a great clinic the team truly loves your animals and they are very kind I also wanted to say thank you for teaching me everything that you guys did I’m sorry it didn’t work out also dr Shannon and her team are very high quality people and will do anything they can to help you and your pet.
Dr. Shannon and staff are stellar. We tried several vets in the greater Denver area when we moved here six years ago. CKVC is by far the best. They have been caring for our two chocolate labs for several years now and helping us make informed decisions about different treatment options for our geriatric dogs. At one wellness exam, Dr. Shannon noticed that one of our dogs had developed an emergent heart condition, referred us to a cardiologist, and likely saved his life. I highly recommend CKVC and was surprised by less positive reviews. I dont usually post reviews, but feel it is important for others to know what a great clinic this is. Very professional, affordable/competitive pricing, compassionate care
Dr. Shannon is amazing. She stays on top of cutting edge procedures such as ACL stem cell surgery. When I called her for help, she came in on her day off, and she didn’t even know me. I was impressed. Her staff is friendly and helpful, too! They did everything just as they said they would. Pricing is reasonable for a high quality vet like Dr. Shannon. If your dog tears their ACL, Dr. Shannon is the vet to see. I highly recommend her and Stem Cell ACL surgery.
Found My Vet and Love the Amazing Staff!I was referred here by a client of mine that lives in my neighborhood and Im so glad I finally went. My first visit was for our Great Dane and German Shepard/ Lab mix. Both dogs were showered with affection and treated so well. I was giving a print out of all my options for services needing to be done and also recommended services. I choose which ones I wanted and which ones I thought were not needed with no rudeness or attitude. They even were able to get information from our old Vet and saved me the cost of blood work (which on a great dane is a lot). I was also offered a discount card that has more than paid for itself.Since my first visit I have been back multiple times for a new kitten and our older dogs discomfort, she was 14. I told them that I had a budget and didnt want to spend an arm and a leg for an older dog and they assured me they would keep that in mind. The last time I visited I had both our older dog and our new kitten. The kitten was just a booster and the older dog was for blood work to make sure the pain medicine, that was helping her be more mobile, and to make sure it wasnt hurting her more than helping. Unfortunately, she had a tumor that had ruptured unbeknown to me and she ended up passing away. The staff acted with the upmost respect and quality care. I couldnt get her to get out of the car, so one of the vet techs came out and carried her in. They laid a comforter down to lay her on. Once Dr. Shannon came in, she asked me a few questions, of course by this point I was in tears and terribly sad. She stopped breathing and they immediate performed CPR, and all sorts of other tactics to see if she could be saved. Sadly, it was her time.Ive read some of these other reviews and feel that if you could see the look and determination in all the staffs eye as they physically exhausted themselves and cried along with me, you would want them to take care of your fur babies too. THANK YOU CHERRY KNOLLS VETERINARY CLINIC FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND CARE, MY TWO KIDS, HUSBAND, AND I ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THE WORK YOU DID THAT DAY.Thank you for the thank you card and the follow up call I received. I am a customer for life.
I love this clinic! The dental work done on my older pet was affordable and so worth it...he acts like a puppy again! No more pain!
They care as much about my pet as I do! You can really feel the love for animals. They were so kind and made sure my pet and I were both comfortable and talked to us about every step of care. They are amazing !
Every member of the team here is amazing. They flawlessly performed a splenectomy on our pup which could have gone wrong in so many ways. They honestly and earnestly care about the pets they see...something which Ive never truly encountered from any other vet office. We drive 45 minutes to Cherry Knolls and always will for all of Pipers needs!
Wonderful! Cherry Knolls has been wonderful to us, at a very very reasonable price! My black lab had a very bad cut on his leg that was fixed by the emergency vet, and we took him to Cherry Knolls for the follow up care. Dr. Shannon and all of the vet techs were so knowledgeable, handled my dog so well, and just sweet and wonderful to work with. Very easy to schedule appointments. Overall Im so happy we found them.
Absolutely best hospital and best value in the area! Dr. Shannon is amazing.
I would highly recommend Cherry Knolls to anyone. I tool my cat to them beginning in February after he was diagnosed with kidney disease and they were great in every way. Everyone there is great, they took the time to answer all my questions and showed me how to do at home procedures. Every time I needed an appointment I was able to get one right away, I was able to go in a get new IV bags, needles, tubing, etc. quickly, even without prior notification. Unfortunately my cats health declined rapidly and I had to euthanize him recently. Before I did I made a courtesy call to them so any future appointments could be cancelled. I honestly did not give them a second thought after that and was quite surprised to receive a hand written condolence card. For me that cemented who I will use as a vet from here on out. I plan on adopting a cat in the next month or two and will definitely go to Cherry Knoll for all its care.
Our dog Jax cut his foot open really bad in two places and my Daughter and I couldn’t get the bleeding to stop. We rushed our dog over to Cherry Knolls Vet clinic and the staff responded very quickly to help our dog Jax. They were super friendly and let us know what they needed to do while they were fixing him up. They did and awesome job and made us feel at ease explaining the process of what needed to be done. Jax is resting at home and will be all better in a few days thanks to the staff at Cherry Knolls Vet clinic. We will always trust them with our pets
I love Dr.Shannon and her team! Dr. Shannon rescues just about anything and everything as far as animals go. She is one of the most compassionate veterinarians we have had the pleasure of going to. We have had to say goodbye to several of our pets which is very tough but Dr. Shannon and her technicians made the best of those experiences. Thank you!
The best description I have come up with is horrific. We have been taking animals to them for over 10 years, and when our 15 year old Brittney stopped hearing, couldnt see, couldnt keep food down and was having a hard time breathing, that his quality of life was gone. After meeting with a new Dr, who insisted that we spend hundreds on tests in order for her to be convinced that his health was that bad, we left with our dog to find another Dr with some compassion for the family, and our dog. The condescension and complete lack of empathy for the family have made it clear to me that I will never step through their door again.
Dr. Shannon has been my veterinarian for over 10 years. She is attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and communicates clearly. Her passion for animal care also makes her pricing reasonable. She reviews everything with you beforehand so there is no surprises and, if the recommended care is unaffordable at the time, she will be clear about how we can prioritize what needs to be done now and what can wait for a future visit. At the end of the day, we all make a commitment to our animals when we decide to make them a part of our lives and sometimes animal care can be expensive. In my opinion, if you can’t commit to quality healthcare, quality food, etc. you should reconsider your commitment to a pet. That being said, Dr. Shannon has always been straight up with me on what my options are, what the ideal case scenario looks like and how, if necessary, we can find a sweet spot that is both affordable and the highest level of care possible.Dr. Shannon has been a friend to two very special companions of mine; one I had to say goodbye to a few years ago, and the other more recently. Throughout their lives, Dr. Shannon got to know me and my dogs, understand them, and develop a relationship of love and trust with myself and my animals. Through emergencies, routine checkups and vaccinations, it’s always 100% clear that her focus is the health and well-being of my animals; regardless of the situation, Dr. Shannon will take all variables into consideration when determining the best strategy for care. This passion and love for my dogs is the reason that I will never see another vet as long as Dr. Shannon practices. As my dogs progressed in age, Dr. Shannon was always available to discuss my options for the best care possible (medications, food, supplements, etc.) and took all variables into account while leveraging all the newest medicines and technologies to ensure that my dogs enjoyed every bit of their senior years. Having to let go of these two close companions was absolutely heartbreaking. Both times. Dr. Shannon intimately understands and it shows in the way she acts as a friend and knowledgeable advisor through the process. I wouldn’t want to go through that with anyone else taking the lead.I can’t say enough about Cherry Knolls and Dr. Shannon. If you’re looking for a competent, well-versed, compassionate, and intentional health care provider for your animals, I cannot recommend Dr. Shannon and Cherry Knolls enough. Not only do I trust her, undeniably, with the health and well-being of my animals but I trust her beyond that. She cares. And that combined with her extremely high level of care, knowledge, and years of experience makes Cherry Knolls a clear choice for the care of my pets.
I called to make a last minute appointment to get annual vaccinations for my dog, Kenny. They were able to see me 20 minutes later. The service was impressive; I really appreciated the way they treated and took care of Kenny. I will definitely be coming back!
Although the staff was nice, from the very beginning the goal seemed to be to over sell me. Really disappointed the main focus was not my pets well being and pressure sales tactics, including trying to guilt me multiple times. Will not be taking my pets back.
I absolutely love Cherry Knolls vet clinic. Everyone is super nice, caring and always goes above and beyond. I simply love Dr. Lauria (we see her the most) but Dr. Shannon is also fantastic. They always take wonderful care of my precious boy Romeo. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
My experience with the staff at Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic has been extraordinarily positive and satisfying. The clinics doctors and veterinary technicians are ardently devoted to providing the best and highest quality of care for the innocent and helpless creatures for whose well-being they are responsible — a level of care that goes above and beyond the scope of medical services to include emotional nurturance for the animals as well as a scrupulous commitment to striving for optimal quality of life for the animals. Dr. Shannon and her staff are deeply dedicated to the welfare of the animals that come into their care, and they go out of their way to rescue, save, and help a wide array of animals, frequently donating their services at no charge and spending exorbitant amounts of money out of their own pockets to nurse their patients back to health. The staff members at Cherry Knolls clinic are a tremendously beneficent team of altruistic advocates for the animal kingdom — a world comprised of a populace of creatures who have no voice of their own with which they can speak for themselves.★★★★★I consider Dr. Shannon and her team to be the best kind of caregivers for animals — caring, kind, loving, and compassionate people who look after the interests and welfare of the animals. It would be wonderful if all veterinary clinics could be so superbly exemplary.
We have been bringing our pets here for about a decade. Back about 6-8 years ago, this place was great. Wonderful customer service, affordable and just an overall great Vet clinic. However, the past few years, this place has changed in a negative way. If you go here, please be prepared that if you would like to ask follow up questions about why you are being charged for something/ refuse any service that is recommended for any reason, you will be spoken to in a way intended to make you feel guilty and like a bad pet owner. This past experience was the straw. We brought our dog in for a check up and when i spoke to the woman (i do not know who she was as my partner took our dog in and i spoke to her on the phone at work) I inquired about why we were being charged for a Thyroid exam when he had one on his last visit that came out normal. She stated that it was because he has not lost weight, even though he has lost nearly 15 pounds in the past 2 years, ridiculous! Then, I tried to reason with her, bringing up how many years we have been loyal to their clinic and trying to understand why their clinic is drastically more expensive than others, she stated, I dont even know you... What a rude and unprofessional response.i wish i could explain in text how condescending she was to me and how guilty she attempted to make me feel.I dont think this is a bad clinic.. i think they care about the animals they serve. But no matter what they say, they try to upsell you on every little thing that your pet doesnt need and if you attempt to ask follow up questions or say you do not want a certain service, they treat you poorly, and that is just unacceptable.I really hope they get it together, take the constructive criticism from the multiple other comments ive seen that echo my same experience, and turn it around.I am truly saddened and disappointed that this is how my decade long plus experience had to end with Cherry Knolls Vet Clinic.
When my puppy got sick, they saved his life. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. I stayed very satisfied with their work.
Dr. Shannon and staff are amazing. They work with our schedules to get us in quickly and have so much compassion for their patients. We have a geriatric dog who needs special meds and care. We can always count on our friends at Dr. Shannons office to help us navigate this new territory. I trust this clinic with our sweet Mojo and any other pet we may have in the future.
Dr. Fleischman and the vet techs at Cherry Knolls are great. They treat our Border Collie thoroughly, with compassion and great care, and I feel completely informed and comfortable when using their services.During a recent teeth-clean Dr. Fleischman removed a small mass from the inside edge of our dogs eye-lid; the operation seemed to go so smoothly and the site of the excision was stitched together so well that the dog seemed completely unphased by her ordeal, and has healed so completely that you cant tell now that there was ever an issue.
I would echo what others say about this clinic pushing unnecessary procedures in an effort to get as much money as possible from you, and guilting you if you question the necessity of the additional procedures.
I have been taking my cat here for years. I was originally very pleased with their services, when I first went there in 2009-10. Back in those days, my review would have sounded a lot like some of the 5 star reviews currently on here. One thing I have noticed however is that in my most recent visits, they seem to find every excuse they can to get money out of you. I scheduled my last visit, because I noticed a small lump on my cats belly. Over the phone, they explained how they would check to see what it is, and gave me a cost estimate. They also stated they would need to sedate him, which was no surprise, because they always have to sedate him when he comes in (he hates going into the clinic and gets very agitated, even though he is the most docile and playful cat I have ever seen at home). So far so good. They further stated that he is due for blood work, and they would like to get that done. I explained to them that I was currently saving up to get a dental cleaning done at the end of this year when they previously told me it would be due, and since they had previously told me he would have to get blood work done anyway right before that proceedure, I would rather just wait until then, instead of getting it done both now, and again at that time (blood work is very expensive, costing 200-300 dollars). In other words, I told them that this visit was only to check the lump, and everything else would be done when I came back in January. She told me this would be fine. When he did go in, I had my mother take him because I work nights, and sleep during the day. They changed their story up on my mom, again trying to push the blood work, this time stating that they felt it was essential because they were worried that it had been too soon since his last sedation (last January), and blood work would tell them if it was safe to sedate. This is clearly not what I was told over the phone. If they had made this clear initially, that would have bee one thing. But instead, we got what was irraly similar to the old bait and switch sales tactics. Could it just have been a simple miscommunication? Sure, but this is not the first time it has happened to me with them. To make things worse, they tried pressure my mother into getting it done, and were rude about it in the process. They even tried to call me at home, even though my mother told them not to, because of my work schedule. When they realised they werent going to get blood work paid for, they tried to prescribe a medication that would calm him down, so he could be brought back in later. By this point, my mother was so upset after the smug, and condescending way she had been talked to, that she took my cat and walked out. My mother is not easily upset, so that says something. After hearing about this, I called them back. I explained that I would not be coming back for two reasons. First of all, they were misleading between what they agreed to do over the phone, and then what they tried to do during the appointment. My new vet has now said that their reasons for him to get blood work done for safety of sedation purposes doesnt make sense...go figure. Frankly if the vet business doesnt last for them, they would certainly have a future in used car sales. Secondly, the rude way my mother was treated and talked to, is why they will never receive another cent from me. They did try to call back later, and left a message saying that if it was consistency of care I wanted, I should contact the doctor who previously saw him, who now works at another facility. This truly blew me away, and simply reaffirms why I told them I would not be back. It is reaffirmed further still, by reading some of the other reviews out there. Particularly a spine-tingling one on Yelp about how they called animal control on two previous patrons, who also stopped bringing their pet there due to similar complaints. What a waste of government time and and taxpayers dollars. All, please give this place a wide berth.
I took my dog in for a physical and shot updates. The first thing they did was try and sell me services I had not asked for nor did my dog need. Second they found a growth in my dogs mouth and the vet said the growth and a tooth had to be removed. All without X-rays and no knowledge if there was a problem with the growth of tooth. Got a second opinion and had a vet with real common sense refused to say what the problems were without X-rays and a biopsy. After actually doing the work to determine the problem the growth was benign and no teeth had to be removed. You decide vets that care enough to do it right. Or vets that like to take your money and guess at problems.
We have been going to this clinic for years and in the last six months the staff have become rude, complacent, and careless with my pets health. On my last visit, filled with questions, i asked the nurse who was originally examining my dog. She diverted me politely to the vet who would be in shortly. The vet who came in, spoke briskly with me, stabbed my puppy three separate times before she decided to change the needle size, was unapproachable with questions and gave my puppy the wrong medication to be taken at home. The vet was with me for under 10 minutes, such a short time that I never even got her name. I spent more time with the nurse who was also the one who found the error in the medication and fixed it. If this visit was not enough of a deterrent, when I received a call from the office the next day asking if my puppy had been having any side effects from the meds she was given, I was thoroughly surprised that there could be more information that the vet had never told me. All in all, this used to be a great practice but they now seem uninterested in their patients and giving quality care especially at the prices they quote. I will not be returning.
Always friendly and uber caring about my pet; would recommend them to anyone seeking top quality vet care.
This clinic is designed to extract as much money from you under the guise of pet health.
Bottom line: Cherry Knolls Veterinary Clinic is exceptional!! While we have worked primarily with Dr. Lauria, all of the doctors and staff are outstanding. We have taken our two dogs to the clinic. The first had a number tumors that, while not life threatening, required monitoring. Dr. Lauria diagrammed each and every one in order to ensure a comprehensive approach. When the time came that we needed to put the dog down, the staff treated this painful decision and procedure with the utmost in compassion. We subsequently decided to adopt a puppy from an area rescue that, unknown to us, had been adopted out with Parvo. The story is quite long but Dr. Lauria, hearing of our situation, volunteered to do all she could for the puppy. Thankfully the puppy survived and it is entirely due to the care that he received at Cherry Knolls. I cannot speak highly enough of this clinic. I understand that every animal and situation is unique and that past successes are not guarentees for the future but I will take each and every animal member of our family to Cherry Knolls without exception or reservation.
Very disappointed!! They also misled and bundled services not requested. Not coming back.
Dr. Shannon is the sweetest!
