Train fight win is absolutely the most welcoming and challenging MMA gym in Denver. The coaches here will push you to achieve what you can and guide you along the way. The amount of expertise each coach has in every discipline is un-matched. Only rivaled by their ability to concisely and effectively relay the expertise to their students. I would reccomend this gym to anyone. New, experienced, old, young you will find what youre looking for at Train.Fight.Win.

I began training at TFW about three years ago, I came in with a little kickboxing experience and had never weightlifted. The coaches here are extremely supportive and excited for people to learn new things. They were able to safely open during the pandemic and encouraged me to begin trying new classes, after a couple of years of sticking to conditioning/kickboxing. Fast forward 6 months and I now grapple and weightlift multiple times a week and love them both. The owners, Coach Mike and Coach LA cultivate an environment of inclusivity, community, and learning. I cannot recommend this gym enough to people of all skill and fitness levels.

If I went into all of the reasons why Train. Fight. Win. is an incredible gym, this review would be far too long. LA and Mike have worked to cultivate a gym for everyone. Conditioning workouts are built for each individual to work at their own level, fighting based classes have time where you can ask questions and they come check everyones form. It truly is a place for those trying to up their fighting skills or those just wanting to get into fighting shape. The classes offered reflect how everyone is welcome. For example, beginner grappling will have fighters training with you, but they (and the coaches) will move at a pace that allows for everyone to practice and really understand every component of the moves. Being a shorter woman, I was worried about trying out grappling; however, Coach Mike has created a class where all of the women feel comfortable and can train without being overtaken by a larger and/or more experienced opponent.I could go into all of the classes until blue in the face, but I want to drive home the community LA and Mike have created. From my first day with Train. Fight. Win., I felt incredibly welcome. All of the members (fighters and regulars) want to make new people feel included. In short, I absolutely love this gym and am so grateful to be a part this tribe.

I came to the gym via my husband and his love of their martial arts classes. I go to the womens weight lifting and conditioning classes. I started the lifting classes because I had a years long history of hip and low back problems after a car accident, despite having gone through many types of physical therapy and exercise. I was very nervous to start lifting, but L.A. makes it so easy to join and learn. The womens group is amazing. We have fun while we work hard, and we love to celebrate each others success. My strength improved tremendously, and my hip and back problems disappeared. It was a huge improvement for my quality of life, and now I love lifting with my friends. The group conditioning classes are tough workouts, but when I do those workouts with the welcoming, awesome people at the gym, I know I can complete the workout. You will have fun while you work! I have needed modifications at various times due to injury (not sustained at the gym) and pregnancy, and with their knowledge, the owners have always kept me moving appropriately. Train.Fight.Win. is, by far, my favorite place to train. Ive trained at a few great spots in Atlanta and a couple more in Denver. The first time I walked into Train.Fight.Win. I felt at home. Both L.A. and Mike were really open and welcoming, as were all the women I began training with. The facility is small, so you only pay for what you are getting: great training. Additionally, classes are small, so Im able to get a lot of individualized attention. This attention has allowed my form, technique, and strength to rapidly improve. My experience at past gyms has taught me to be a little cautious when striking or grappling with men; there can be a bit of ego brought to the mat. It took me some time before I was ready to take that risk here, but my fears were completely unfounded. Everyone is very respectful. The environment is serious, and at the same time no one takes themselves too seriously. Everyone is here to learn and improve. There is also the optional Fight Camp for those who want to take their training to the next level. On top of the great classes, Ive learned how to manage how and when I eat so I can get the best out of every training session. I consider myself very lucky to have found Train. Fight. Win. I walked in with a life time of curiosity towards the martial arts left unexplored due to an intimidation factor that is present when trying to join a culture as intense as fight culture. The owners of Train. Fight. Win., Mike and L.A. Jennings, have managed to create their own culture that defuses any intimidation factor and is welcoming of all skill levels, including total novices. That they have managed to do so while also training fighters for real fights is an impressive accomplishment. I had no intention of sparring when I joined the gym. I had no intention of competing in tournaments when I joined the gym. 13 months in and I am now training for my second grappling tournament and I anticipate doing many more. The physical and mental skills that I have learned at this gym have changed my life for the better and my perception of myself has been elevated thereby. The pedagogical quality of the classes is less important to the culture of Train. Fight. Win. than is the quality of people who are regulars. It feels like a family. It is like being a regular at a bar where every knows you and is happy to see you. I am motivated to attend just to check in with the tribe as much as I am to practice a set of skills. I find that this has a very positive effect on the long term benefits to training here.In short, if you want to make some great friends, are curious about the fighting arts, or are a seasoned pugilist, then you owe it to yourself to check out Train. Fight. Win.In the case of the curious beginner then I practically insist; you will learn very interesting things about yourself.

I was super scared and really didn’t think I could possibly do it, but coaches L.A. and Mike went the extra mile to support me every step of the way - they helped with my diet, they met me after gym hours for swimming/bike training and more than that, they genuinely believed in me. Coach L.A. ran the tri by my side the whole way. Crossing the finish line with her and Coach S.J. was absolutely awesome. I’ve ran four other races since. After attending conditioning classes for a while, I started going to the women’s kickboxing classes. This is no cardio kickboxing, it is the real deal. It is a high intensity striking class where I made several friends in a very serious, but still social atmosphere. Almost a year later I became pregnant with our second child and kept training for 7 months. Coach L.A. was extremely attentive and thoughtful, adapting all the drills and workouts to suit me.To sum up, Train.Fight.Win. is a great gym and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. Great place, definitely best place Ive trained in! I started training here about 5 months ago and the people and trainers are great! I am grateful to have found this place, they help you get where you want, whether strength and conditioning or great fighter to best grappler, they got what you need. They are a second familia to me that push you beyond the limit!

Pros: They teach many different styles from Kali and boxing. I do not know how qualified the instructors are based on Muay Thai and BJJ but they offer that as well. They are reasonable based on their prices and schedules. The people you get to train with are often pretty nice. They keep a balanced sport and street mentality.Cons: They often change their memberships and prices around every three months it seems, so there is a inconsistency based on that (but there is no contract so they can). The female coach from my own experience had a pretty bad attitude when teaching as if she was paying us rather then us them. Quite frankly the coaches there (especially LA Jennings) are generally just rude to their students. The gym is pretty cold year round, and it does not heat up with people working out in there, so I had to wear socks for most of the training.I personally will not be going back to this gym nor would I advice others to go here when theres many other gyms with a more professional attitude when it comes to teaching students.

Train. Fight Win. is a great place to train whether your goal is to get in shape, fight, make friends, build connections or try something new! When I first starting coming to TFW I wasnt in a great place both physically and mentally. I wanted to get back in shape, while trying something new. I started attending the womans kick boxing class. I was terrified of trying something new but Coach L.A. and the other woman in the class welcomed me with open gloves and encouraging attitudes. After attending the womans kick boxing for a few months, I started attending the co-ed kick boxing clads and have been growing as a fighter both physically and mentally, with the help of the coaches and my fellow kick boxers, ever since. While the fighting classes have become a huge part of my life, conditioning will continue to be the class that I attend most. This class is helpful for all skill levels and will push you to reach limits that you desire. This class provides a variety of different work outs and keeps you on your toes from class to class. From cardio to weight lifting, this class is helpful to anyone that wants to make progress in themselves in a variety of ways! This gym is very welcoming and centered around connecting people who share the desire to takes steps to be healthy! Everyone is very encouraging, supportive and friendly! I have made many friends and friends who have become family through this community environment!Definitely a great gym to visit!

By far the best MMA gym I have been to. It’s hard to describe how uniquely fantastic the TFW family is!Coaches LA and Mike were excellent trainers who made classes fun and incredibly safe. As a beginner, I appreciated how welcome and comfortable they made me feel, while still pushing me to improve. The other folks who train here are all friendly and there’s a delightful absence of any kind of bravado I would have expected from “fighting” gyms. People are willing to work with beginners and help them learn without making you feel incompetent. Most importantly, there’s an emphasis on technique and skills- building that ensures everyone is safe practicing at the right level. Somehow they maintain this welcoming space while still having a “no-bs, we’re here to train” attitude that makes you want to work hard. This place offers exactly the kind of intensity you want in an mma gym.I started off in the gender-equality MMA (GEMMA) classes but couldn’t get enough of it so I ended participating in the wider class offerings. I was happy to see that the very woke mentality the coaches embody and engender pervades all of their classes.

Train. Fight. Win is a transformation factory. Far above merely getting in shape or learning martial arts techniques, this place can really change your life. I came in about two months ago after a long hiatus in training and they enthusiastically brought me back in to the fold and got me on track. Mike and Jeff, the grappling trainers, encouraged me to train for a grappling tournament, and in less than two months after I started I was competing at a high level. With some healthy prodding from the trainers I pushed myself harder than I ever have. The progress I made in such a short time was tremendous.Ive dipped my toes in other gyms and there were some things about them I didnt like. In other places there are basically meatheads that either beat you up or neglect giving you the full attention your training deserves. Not like that here. Other gyms have inconvenient schedules but if you have evenings off like most people youll always be able to find a class here. The pricing is really fair too, considering its a flat monthly rate for unlimited classes in a nice downtown area.Mike and L.A., the owners and head trainers, foster an environment in the gym that feels like a family or a tight knit group of friends with a common goal. Your accomplishments are everyones accomplishments. Your progress elevates everyone else. The owners have been steeped in fight culture for decades. Whatever you want to get out of the training, whether it be fitness, basic self defense, or high level competition, they can take you however high you aspire to go.

Train. Fight. Win. is true to its name, and then some. Without a doubt this is THE best place you can go to in Denver if you are looking to challenge yourself either as an experienced fighter, or as someone who is truly novice to MMA, or even really as a new person to a gym setting. Owner and Coach LA is a true professional in her field, she knows her craft inside and out, backwards and forwards, as does Mike, Co-Owner and Coach at TFW. I have taken, at this point, countless classes from both, as well as from their equally professional and incredibly knowledgeable coaches SJ, Tym, and Parker, and have never once been disappointed in their work. After (literal) years of training in other martial arts and fight styles, I can tell you that, in my comparably shorter time at TFW, I have grown so much more as an athlete, fighter, and person than I imagined I would when I first walked through their door. All the staff are incredibly kind and courteous to anyone who comes into their gym, and you are treated immediately as a welcomed member of their community. I scrolled down to see who in the hell could give this place anything less than 5 stars, and it seems to be from folks who have a chip on their shoulder, and not even an ounce of the humility and gumption you need to truly make yourself here, or for that matter, at any gym. If youve got an ego, check it at the door, and come in prepared to discipline yourself, which is what any martial artist worth their salt knows is at the core of their work. The coaches of TFW are there to help make you better and turn out winners, because thats what they do. They also are exceptional at treating you like an actual human, which in my years of being at other gyms, isnt always guaranteed. If you need someone to sit and listen to you complain about how hard the work is, or to tell you how amazing you are every five minutes, go find somewhere else and get in line there. But if you are looking for a gym that you will leave every day feeling more accomplished, connected, and just as an overall better version of yourself than when you got there, look no further. TFW is where its at.

I absolutely love this gym! I trained Muay Thai/MMA in Denver and some in Albuquerque NM. So when it was time to find a gym close to home TFW won my vote. Its three blocks away from my old high school so I was a little disappointed I didnt find it sooner. Mike and LA are world-class coaches have built an amazing gym. We train MMA, Kickboxing, Kali, and have conditioning sessions I highly recommend.Respect and appreciation to those before usTrain.Fight.Win.!

Train.Fight.Win, is a second home to me, and one where I will always feel comfortable. I started training at TFW the first week that they opened in 2009. Upon stepping in the door, I immediately felt at home. Maybe it was the Social Distortion and The Pixies playing on the radio, or maybe it was the fact that Mike and L.A. were super enthusiastic, friendly and welcoming. Regardless, I felt as if I had reunited with two of my old friends and that it was time to start training together again. Even better was when I found out that there are no contracts, no school uniforms, and that the price that you pay the first day is the price you’ll pay for life. I pay the same monthly rate that I did in 2009, and that’s a good deal. If you ever feel like you need to take some time off to go pursue other interests, focus on school, deal with health issues, spend time with your family, or just need a break, you can leave at any time and step back in without any problems. Mike and LA are happy to have you train with them, and if you don’t want to be there, they would rather not have you locked into a contract requiring that you be there. This isn’t a gym focused on making money, this is a gym focused on training and fitness. The gym is a big room with a boxing ring, a big soft matted area for grappling and striking with 4- 5 heavy bags. There is also another hard matted area for workouts with pull-up bars, a squat rack, a bench, and lots of bumper plates and kettle bells. Mike and L.A. dont need much to put you through a complete workout and to teach you some great fighting skills. The Owners/Trainers: Mike is a Guro in the FCS (Filipino Combat Systems) system of Kali, a Sifu in the Siu Family/Lineage of Wing Chun, has a background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Catch Wrestling, Boxing, and Muay Thai. L.A. has a background in BJJ, Catch Wrestling, Boxing, Muay Thai, Sansho, and Kali. I consider them both to be extremely proficient in the fighting arts. The Clientele: People who want train hard and have fun doing it. There are plenty of men and women here who are extremely competent in their skill set, be it Kali, grappling or striking. There are also beginners. My point is that you are going to work with skill sets across the spectrum and you should be prepared to tone it down while working with beginners and you can level up when working with the advanced. If you have something to prove, you should go somewhere else. If you want to beat up your training partners, you should go somewhere else. If you can’t control yourself and can’t tone down your training/sparring/aggression level to work with beginners, you should go somewhere else. The Classes:Kali: A blade-based, offensive (not self-defense) system of martial arts that was developed out of old-school jungle tribal warfare in the Philippines. It is a very cool system that most people don’t find out about until they’ve been training in the martial arts for a long time. Mike teaches this, and his level of expertise is mind-blowing. I dont know when he started training, but he’s been consistent in his training for a long time. Sticks and knives. Espada y daga. Panantukan (empty-hand). It is truly a wonder to train with a guy whose flow is so on point.Grappling: How to fight on the ground. Chokes, submissions, joint locks.Striking: Stand-up fighting. Kicks and punches with some boxing and Kali footwork.Conditioning: These are highly cardio classes with lots of body weight and kettlebell exercises.Weight Lifting: Men’s and women’s. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been.Panantukan: This is the empty-hand side of Kali.MMA: Combines the stand up and ground portions of fighting with different perspectives on strategy.I love TFW. I’ve thought about moving out of state from time to time in the past, but I also know that I would never have a gym in which I would feel as comfortable and be as happy to train. This is a unique place.

Ive trained in several martial arts and at several fitness gyms since Ive moved a lot in the past. When searching for gyms to go to in Denver, I was looking for something that would continue some kind of martial art training and keep me in great shape. Add to it that this gym has a great membership rate (low price for unlimited, instructor-led classes), is filled with awesome people, has knowledgeable instructors, and flat out works (I ran the tough mudder after training here for a year and did great!).If youre into some MMA / kickboxing / muy thai / kali / escrima / or grappling ... or just want to do some serious conditioning and strength training, this gym can offer all of that!
