Im new to climbing and just joined Movement last month, really for the bouldering in RINO, but have quickly found top rope climbing to be way more fun! The route setting is great, changes often, and I continually hear its the best of all the big gyms in Denver. I 100% agree with other reviewers that the arena style seating makes it so much fun to watch others climb and the vibe is really friendly and inclusive. Plus, the staff is great - helpful with testing, questions, etc.
I really liked Movement- Baker and appreciate the structure of it all which is why it gets 2 starts and not 1. The routes are always well placed and challenging and the staff are generally kind and respectful with the exception of the coach who provided a poor enough experience that I’m writing a review to warn you.Shane was my climbing coach and after working together on improving specific goals of mine within the sport, Shane just stopped communicating. He was initially very helpful and had created a personal program for me that immediately improved my strength. However, after a few months of working together, Shane just disappeared and my coaching abruptly stopped. I reached out as an attempt to be understanding of the potential for human error however, was left with no explanation, no follow-up, and no common courtesy. I was worried because the last communication was that he was climbing out of town in Ten Sleep and that he would get back to me when he returned. But that never happened.I checked social media to make sure he didn’t have some sort of accident and thankfully he didn’t. Shane is very active on his social media account and seemingly only invested in his own goals. If you go to this beauty of a as gym, consider a personal climbing coach other than Shane as your goals will not be a priority for this trainer. If you want consistency and professionalism in a coach: Shane is not the way.
Just signed up for the annual membership here - it seems like a really good deal. The staff is very friendly and super helpful! We are beginners but they have a great variety of routes available.
Joined this gym a month after its opening. Best yoga instructors in Denver! Plus, the route setting is by far the most fun, interesting of all the big gyms here. The arena style walls make it so fun to watch others climb. Best part-- truly inclusive of all people.
Shout out to Jessica S. the membership specialist. This place continues to rule as always and only gets better year after year.
Great climbing gym! I was in from out of town so I did a day pass and was able to get in some great climbing! Awesome walls, super friendly staff! They had plenty of great beginner routes, V0-2s, which is what I spent my time on. I was glad I dropped by to get a climb in!
This is a great spot with excellent staff. Khalid helped me at the front desk and made my experience top notch!I dont climb often and their accommodation to guests was spectacular. I like how a range of problems is available at every wall so you can climb with your more experienced friends.
Ive been climbing at Movement for a little over a year and have loved every moment of it! The routes are dynamic, creative, and I never get bored. With the help of the amazing community and the staff (SHANE!!), I have built up my confidence and went from top-roping 5.8 to onsighting 5.10d on lead!
Ive had nothing but good experiences with Movement Baker, or any of their affiliated locations. They really seem to be a team of good people! The fact that they have yoga and weights in addition to the climbing equipment, plus the ability to go do a variety of gyms across the state and beyond, makes this a really great value. The reservation system during Covid times has been effective for me, and they are very reasonable about the policies. Im excited to continue going here for the foreseeable future!
Love this gym. Recently started setting harder and i love it!
Been to quite a few climbing gyms across the U.S. and was a bit disappointed. We came to the gym to boulder but felt limited by the number of problems and the space gets crowded fast. There werent really any slab boulders, problems were quite finger-intense, and the holds have seen a lot of use to the point of being pretty hard to grip.** Edited to add: I truly deeply hate when businesses, especially climbing gyms, dont produce enough parking for the number of patrons that they serve. (photos added for reference as well)
Friendly staff. Great routes. They’ve done such a great job through this whole pandemic in terms of sanitizing and monitoring distancing, limiting head count, etc. And yet, this past month, they’ve increased capacity to a level that doesn’t make sense. It’s impossible to distance at their current levels. I know it’s a business decision, but it’s pretty anxious. Also, they allow gaiters as a mask option now. The past four times I’ve been in (both at Baker and Rino) it’s just dudes in gaiters. Maybe new studies have proven this an effective face covering. It just seems like they’ve gone from sixty to zero as far as pandemic protocols.
Love the walls, the community, the people and the awesome yoga staff. Place has everything except a sauna like the ones in Cali.
Good angles, good routesetting across the grades and polite staff. Worthy.
Great gym that I always get a good workout at. They’ve also done their best dealing with constantly evolving COVID situation and which I appreciate.
Big space, plenty of routes, friendly staff, friendly people. What more do you need?
I absolutely love climbing here. Its been tough to navigate during COVID, but I feel like Movement has done a good job with how they are spacing out member climbs. Looking forward to things normalizing again.. hopefully soon! Thank you to the staff for always being friendly and helpful :)
Most strict gym you will ever go to in Denver. Showers are not available, no classes, most of the time they are out of lead ropes, and the community part of climbing seems to be gone because you arent allowed to climb with anyone unless you knew them before Covid. If they didnt have one of the best climbing walls in Denver, I wouldnt go at all.
Good gym, great setting, but as a paying customer I have never felt so consistently unwelcome by the employees. Its a bummer, but also worth putting up with to keep Baker in the gym rotation for all the new sets. Save this one for when youve exhausted all the new stuff at the other local gyms.
The Denver area has many excellent climbing gyms, but this is the best. The staff is the best. Theyre friendly, helpful and engaging. Movement offers very good instruction for beginners and intermediates and coaching for those who are serious about leveling up.Both the climbing walls and the bouldering areas have interesting and challenging routes/ problems for climbers at all levels. They are changed regularly, so climbers dont get bored. Hands down, my favorite place to climb.
Amazing place to climb.
Great facility. Our staff was friendly both to us and checking out our newcomer friends. It cost us $20/pp for a day pass, $8/pp for equipment and $1 for an ATC.They have a variety of courses for all skill levels as well as a daycare ($5 per hour). It does get a little crowded when people are of work. You may have to wait 5 minutes or so to start if you are not too picky.
A very fun gym with a plethora of different climbing wall styles and workout equipment. Can get crowdedin the afternoon, but thats because its such an amazing place.
My family just joined this month after climbing a few times and falling in love with it. The staff are the best! So kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Check google for most crowded times and try to go at off times. You have access to several other gyms with your membership.
Pros:-Use your preferred belay device, not required to use pre-loaded Grigris.-Great natural lighting during the day-Staff is always friendly and helpful, Ive never had a negative experience.-Lots of overhangs and roofs in the toprope area great for building strength-Conveniently located in central Denver, AND has plenty of parking.-Lots of corner routes, if you like stemming this is the place for you.-They take covid safety seriously, everyone has masks on, even up on the walls. Restrooms are always spotless.Negatives:-not really a large dedicated beginner area comparable to Earthtreks, as a result I take new/visiting friends there instead.-walls here are a bit flat, compared to ET where the walls have more articulation and complex geometry, which I find more interesting and useful for building outdoor climbing skills (ie practicing slab)
Not friendly for beginner or intermediate climbers. Staff was incredibly rude and didn’t answer our questions when we tried to inquire more about how their testing works to be able to rope climb. Weight gym was nice but other than that they don’t advertise how strict they are about allowing people to rope climb. If you’re looking to brush up on your climbing or learn the sport, don’t come here.
I’ve been climbing at this gym for years and it’s about time they get some feedback.1) The merge with Planet Granite has satiated some of this, however they are still one of the most stingy gyms I’ve ever experienced. Their buddy pass policy allowed you a buddy pass each month but only if the person hadn’t been there before - basically rendered the whole system useless after you’ve climbed with a couple of your friends. Multi million dollar franchise stinges out on buddy passes...2) At first glance it will appear you’ve stumbled into the most inclusive and accepting place on earth as they galavant signs preaching their tolerance and acceptance on a range of cultures/lifestyles. The front desk staff, however, seem to have a different agenda unless they know you personally. They are blatantly rude, unhelpful and seem to act as if their checkin and cashier services are a severely taxing service.3) I can definitely appreciate the safety measures and the new waters being navigated during the pandemic but dang, there is some severe dysfunction amongst the staff at this gym. Everyone seems confused and disillusioned with procedures and quick to capitalize on the liquid chalk rule by offering liquid chalk at a sweeping cost of $20/bottle.Needless to say I am thrilled with the merge to give me an outlet from this gym. The culture has gone to the wayside over the past few years and it’s really unfortunate as the setting is great. Hopefully management heads some of the feedback and can get some of this stuff corrected so the gym becomes one that is truly inclusive and friendly rather than one that just posts signs about it.
Im not good at climbing but I wanted to give myself a challenge. My friend and I decided to visit this place. The other climbers were super friendly and willing to help when I was struggling. Overall it was a great experience except for service. I wish the staff was more polite and welcoming.
My wife and I had a fantastic day climbing here! The staff were helpful, safety-conscious, and welcoming. I appreciated the thorough belay test, and found all of the patrons smiley and laid-back. I am not a very experienced climber, but found the routes wonderfully laid out, and at no point felt conscious of my inexperience. Would absolutely go again!
Had a great time dropping in for a day. Not sure what these negative reviews are on about - the bathroom/changing rooms were clean, the whole place looks fresh, and the staff were cool. They arent jerks about the belay test, watched them help a couple people who forgot something minor but were safe. Bouldering section is huge and I found a few neat problems, though we spent most of our time on top-rope. The walls are interesting with arches and overhangs, and the routes were fun. Highly recommended, especially if youre doing the $10 first-time deal.
This is my first climbing gym and I absolutely love it. Great environment, reasonable price. It’s very slow if you go in the afternoon, before 4pm. I slightly prefer the Baker location.
Great place to get a workout in. Very convenient location and ample parking, which is not always the case in Denver. Bathrooms are not my primary concern when looking at a prospective gym but I see nothing wrong with these. Also, the staff is great and will assist if you have any needs or questions.
Enjoyable gym but go at off times cause it gets extra crowded! The route setting was more reachy than the gym were used to but thats a good thing as it changed it up for us.I was able to listen to a staff member giving a verbal test to a new customer and Im not thrilled how its done. If a person is asked a question and they dont answer to the staffs approval at least take the time and DEMONSTRATE why something like Z Clipping is dangerous! Just describing it to them and then telling them to come take the test again doesnt really teach a thing.
Website claims there is room to climb. There is no room to climb without waiting over 30 mins.
Used to be great... Still have really good routes and climbing - but way too crowded, new arrangement upstairs favors yoga / training classes which again, normally would be great, but it feels like its coming at the expense of selling memberships first. Well, I guess thats what a business does. The new training area in the back deserves a thumbs up. All in all, if you plan on coming after 5pm good luck.
Over all the facilities seemed very well maintained however for the bad service that was given we asked for refunds and left. So a friend and I went in thinking we would be able to rock climb and learn some new tricks to rock climbing. We where first met by a young man who told us to fill out the waiver..etc. and he asked us if we where new or experienced we both said new. After we got our stuff he told us to go look up and learn how to do a 8 fold knot. My friend and I had no idea what that was. The young man then told us we couldn’t rock climb unless we could show him how to tie that specific knot. Well he only gave us like 5-6 minutes to learn on our own. I swear we aren’t incompetent people here. We asked if he could show us and said unfortunately I can’t. We asked for tips still couldn’t help. We asked if anyone else was here who could help, still couldn’t help. After feeling dumb we returned our rental equipment and asked the guy if we where good to go he said yes however my friend asked about the refund we where not ready to leave. We had to sit there and wait for him to reapply the credit back on to our cards. This company is only in it for the money. They will steal from you and are NOT family friendly at all. Lost my business for life.
I joined this gym a couple of months ago.. and have enjoyed it so far. I like that they have a variety of classes and they keep the place very clean. The routes are changed often which is nice. The only cons are that during class time you cannot use 1/2 of the equipment.. I usually come over lunch and I am too late to join a class or dont have an interest in the class taking place, as my time is limited. It would be really nice to have a set of kettle bells/mats/even one womens bar in the other weight room. I also feel like the additional classes are a little pricey for members. Most of them offered are only a little bit cheaper ($10 less) than the Non-member price. I agree the buddy passes are a little odd. It would be really nice to give a pass to anyone i wanted rather than just a new member.. I get it but it would be a really nice perk! Overall I do love coming here and feel like the staff is really friendly and helpful.
Its fine. Compared to other gyms, all it really has going for it is the location. Perhaps worth noting that the shower curtains have a fair amount of red bacterium growing. Also have seen black mold behind the shower soap dispenser lid. A little bit of cleanliness goes a long way; I just hope they keep the shower floors clean to prevent foot fungus etc. ugh.
Great gym, setting has been amazing lately
It was my first rock climbing experience and I enjoyed it so much. The instructor was knowledgeable and fun. If you would like to try something exciting and challenging at the same time, you should visit this place.
I love this climbing gym. The bouldering area is comprehensive, which is my favorite way to climb. The top rope and sport climb area is particularly impressive. Many different workout options, from free weights and weight racks to yoga and spin rooms. Highly recommend.
I don’t like this gym or the staff. Don’t get me started on the yoga teachers....
Climbing gyms are the bestest!
Well, they Couldnt handle my membership so I had to pay for the day pas$. Boulders are mostly old with a few new ones on the slab wall. Liquid chalk is a pocket killer on top of an overall confused/rushed staff. Get your chalk ball AND bag before you go save yoself 20$ on the Liquid chalk
Awesome place. Obviously its gonna be busy, we live in one of the most active outdoor areas. Not their fault. The setting and staff are great. Jacob just called to check up on me after a medical incident I had at the facility. He even offered me a pro-rated rate so I dont pay for any dates where I cant use the gym due to this incident. Im very happy with the gym and would(and do) recommend it to anyone and everyone .
Nice climbing gym in Baker. The sport routes look good and plentiful, but I have only tried the bouldering. The latter is a bit small, its just one room of two walls facing each other, and a small cave at the end. Nevertheless, there are all kinds of wall angles and problems across the difficulty scale to be found. The fitness area is upstairs and a bit smaller than the one in the facility in River North, but still very much usable and more than just an excuse to put Fitness in the name.Tons of parking spots, but they nevertheless fill up quickly in the evening.
Whenever I visit the Denver area, I go to Movement...either the Boulder or Denver location. Both are great. Love the classes, and climbing for fun and fitness! Everyone is helpful. Surroundings are clean. And kudos to their commitment to the environment too!
I like this gym located not far from my house! It has a lot of options to go in for sports. There are yoga, fitness, and climbing. The staff is attentive and friendly. The major drawbacks are crowds and price.
I have been to just about every climbing gym in the Denver/Boulder area and Movement Denver is still my favorite despite not being the closest to home. Not only is the gym impeccably maintained and clean, they offer so much more than just climbing. They promote over all health and wellness with the diverse fitness/yoga classes offered and have excellent route setting which is constantly changing. Plus, they are always finding ways to improve the gym and add more for their members!
I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews here. So glad I decided to trust my own judgement and check out Movement.Creative routes, extremely accommodating and FRIENDLY staff. Worth the price. Love the student discount. Very nice community.Definitely starts getting busy around 4:30pm on weekdays, but I take it as an opportunity to watch some climbers better than I am in order to get better. So glad to have found Movement, and can’t wait for their next facility to open!
Ive been climbing at Movement for a year now and I love this place. Lots of routes to try with bouldering, top rope and lead climbing. Routes change often and are traded appropriately. Evenings can be a zoo with the crowds, but theres still room to climb. Also theres tons of class option and teacher for private lessons.
Its great place for working out. Highly professional and well trained coaches and friendly environment. Definitely highly recommended.!!
This place was a second home for me over the winter. Love the bouldering area and there is always someone friendly to talk to. Only giving 4 because the vibe is a little pretentious but most people are pretty nice, it does get crazy crowded around 5-6pm though. Love the weight room too but wish it were a little bigger. Sometimes I feel really cramped trying to get my workouts in if theres multiple people in he weight area or exercise room. I think itd be way better as just one open area but I get how that would be difficult to hold classes in. Its just hard to do squats or deadlift without people getting uncomfortably close.
Went here on Saturday for a climb with two friends. Had a great time, the staff was nice and gave us our belay test in a timely fashion. The routes are challenging and there are a lot of different high ropes courses. There is a gym onsite but it only really has a few racks and treadmills despite how big the space is. We will definitely be joining as full time members
Very fun I love the sport climbing selection. One thing that would help safety is if some clips arent as high on some of the routes some are almost 15 feet high.
Great gym with lots of options. Some reviews here seem to be unaware that climbing is a potentially deadly sport. Showing up to a gym with zero experience and not signing up for an introductory course of some sort, you cannot expect to have the knowledge base to climb safely. Take a class if you don’t know the basic of climbing safety...Don’t be a rude dummy.5/5 for the gym
Super fun and challenging! I was a little annoyed by the wait, but its a popular place. I will be back but hope they might hire a little more help. I felt like it could have been a smoother and safer experience with more staff.
If you are at all an experienced climber aka learned outside or began before climbing was a fad sport you will hate this gym. It’s not only crowded but it’s crowded with obnoxious gumbies who are there to strut around shirtless and stand all over your personal gym rope. Majority of the people lack basic climbing etiquette and seem to be there to be seen rather than to become a strong climber. The staff are generally rude and flippant. The setting is poor and unimaginative and seems to be set by people who are 7’ tall thus making anything over a 10a almost always “reachy” for any average height female.I do not like giving this gym my business but unfortunately there are no other gyms in Denver.
Kind of hard to make a bad first impression given how these five star reviews set the mood, but they managed to. The staff and clientele are super stuck up. Definitely got the vibe they are above it all—why? Also smelled like BO, shady parking lot (wouldn’t want to walk to my car at night if I were female), and guys wear their climbing shoes into the locker room stalls. Think about that last one a bit.
Good climbing and Fitness center.Lead wall looks good, but is not that tall.Boulders are is really cool and has a wide range of holds.Unfortunately it lacks hard climbs (V10 or harder)
Good facility and it would be even better if there was space to use it. Crowding is a huge issue, dont even bother coming between 5-7PM on a week night. The climbing area is just like the parking situation, youll circle the area a few times waiting for someone to leave so you can hop in before the other 3 people waiting nearby notice. Even if you do find an open rope, theres a good chance youll have to wait for an adjacent climber to finish but youre SOL if a lead climber sets up on your other side and starts climbing before you can. It will take 2 and a half hours to do as much as you would in an hour anywhere else.
I switched to Earth Treks after realizing how frustrating it is to come here after work on a weekday. Its so overcrowded that you can expect to wait 1+ hr for a lead rope. Even then, you still have to wait to climb because there will be a person on every route. The guest passes are a joke (one/month for new members only). This place is not worth your time if you work a regular 9-5! Go to another gym.
Great setting and super helpful, kind staff!
The route setters here are creative, dynamic and always evolving at their position. Large, tall walls for both lead and toprope. Must be able to pass lead test at a 5.9 route with a fall.Yoga offerings by some of the best instructors in Denver!Locker room with showers (soap and towels available)The community here is genuine and not at all elitist (even though so many of the BEST climbers practice here).Peak times can be difficult to park, but always room in a class or at the wall!
I liked this place. Standard big new gym. Lots of bouldering. Staff were fairly friendly. Check in and belay check took about 10 minutes. A little crowded on Saturday morning. Went back on a week night. It was really crowded. Took the top rope belay test. It was easy but they make you answer some basic questions most of which you really need to know to top rope.
Very bad, not good. Few experienced climbers here. Rude staff and overcrowded with trendy hipsters living off debt.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and guests. Its nice that its not only a climbing gym but they have great classes and just about everything other gyms offer except a pool. It does get very crowded outside of Weekday 9-5 hours though.
Beware!!!! Do not sign a contract here. The place is great but do not sign up for a membership. Please be warned that they will lock you into paying every month and there is no way of getting out of it without written notification handed into them. They will increase your charges and also charge you extra on their discretion. Read the contract fully. One of the worst. For the owners it is a great business model. Sucks they have my money now.
We went there after going to a different bouldering place a week prior, and this one was much worse unfortunately. At this place, even the V1 problems were pretty difficult, and as other people have already said, it was very full and the holds are quite difficult to grip (potentially worn out). It is very cheap for first visitors ($10), which is good, but Id recommend adding more problems for those first timers so they dont get discouraged.
Youre either a Movement fan or cannot stand the place. I am the latter. The staff is less than helpful/outright rude. The climbers embody some of the worst gym rat behaviors Ive ever seen. Snake much? And the lead climbing test is laughably outrageous.
Built on an EPA radium site. Would love to see results from radon testing that has been completed or any information in this regard. For a facility where significant physical activity is ongoing, Id think this would be of particular concern. Look up EPA Denver radium sites for more information.
Great gym, awesome setters, and friendly staff... Way too crowded, bad edict from other climbers, unsafe environment. While have a kids club is great, they do it during peak hours and it takes up even more space adding to the crowd and chaos. It is unfortunate that this place cannot be managed better so that it is safe for everyone.
Awesome gym, they rotate the routes frequently, clean, good music. However, if you are a member, you are allotted 1 buddy-pass per month. They regulate the buddy pass though so it only allows you to bring in a buddy that has never been to Movement before. Essentially, members bring in their customers that end up getting memberships or come more than once and dont want a membership. If they changed the policy to anyone, it would be perfect!
Movement is an extraordinary climbing gym experience. The routes are incredible, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the physical structure is inviting and simply amazing. What a great place to climb!
Been going here for almost two years now. The route setters do a good job keeping things interesting, and routes are changed frequently. The gym has been constantly updating and adding new equipment. Staff always say hello.Stay away from 5p-8p on the weekdays. It gets pretty busy. I climb/train between 8a-2p most days and it’s pretty mellow.
Lots of good routes, very nice people. Very clean. Happy hour!!
I didnt encounter any staff being rude, as other have mentioned, but I want to talk about the belay test. You can only take it once a day and I think they have an unwritten (heck, maybe it is written) policy not to let anyone pass on the first attempt. Im not even talking about lead belaying, just toprope belaying. I can lead belay and did not pass the toprope belay (easier) test here. Ive never not passed a belay test, and have been to half a dozen gyms in three different states...that is to say, I know how to belay! The reason I feel confident saying the policy is not to pass in one attempt is because after not passing, I was given a day pass for my harness allowing me to belay for the duration of that visit, before having to test again next time I come in. So that leaves one of two possibilities, the first is that they have a blatant disregard for safety, or second (and more likely, imo) they just dont pass anyone the first time, for reasons unknown. A little ridiculous and super annoying. Other than that, I thought it was a nice facility and the childcare room looked clean.
Shocking lack of safety. A 3 foot triangle feature came off the wall and fell point first from about 20 feet up - just missing a crowded gym floor. SUPER dangerous and such a close call. This is not the first time I have seen sketchy safety issues here. Last week a route setter was way up with a battery powered drill changing a hold with no safety cord on the drill. Whats more upsetting is the response to such dangerous events - I had a near accident (the gyms fault not mine) and the response - thats why you sign a waiver. No, Movement. Thats why you get one star and you better hope that no one gets hurt. Take it from me - Thats why youll get sued.
People were so nice, place was well kept and so much fun!
Okay... talking about this facility as a whole, its a awesome gym, with lots of options... many roped climbs that are fairly tall, great boulder area that has a nice cave with awesome route choices for inverted climbing.. theres a little study area, the bathrooms are great, with lockers that you can rent if you dont have a monthly pass, the amenities go on... for me however, between the crowds, the $22 day rate (NO gear rental, mind you), and the poor attitudes Ive received from the employees both times Ive gone, this place is a NO GO for me ! If I come in 2 hours before close and the gym is packed, I shouldnt have to pay 22 bucks for a full day rate... Im going to be spending 3/4ths of that time waiting for people to get off routes anyways.. dont even get me started on their belay test... Im a professional Up Rigger, and am belay certified in countless gyms across the states.. some of them you can even read the reviews Ive left in my history, I have never failed a belay test in my life until I came here... I failed because I was unaware that the proper way to identify a figure 8 is that it has 10 strands... WRONG!! If they want to get that technical.. a REAL figure 8 has 5, a fig. 8 Follow Through has 10, and EVEN THEN thats not something I tell beginners ?!? Like dude if you can look at a figure 8 and know that its in the literal shape of a 8 you shouldnt be rope climbing... too much attention to the wrong kinds of detail, I think theres other safety priorities that beginning belayers should be focusing on other then how many strands of rope are in a figure 8 follow through.. even proper knot dressing is more important then that kind of non fundamental stuff they want you to know...
This place is more than just a climbing gym, offering cycling, weight lifting, yoga and more, but as far as a climbing gym goes it is the best i have ever been to. In addition, their staff is very nice and personable. Would highly recommend this gym to others.
Everything you need from a climbing gym: tall routes, fun problems, sick training area, yoga, weight areas, and friendly staff. It does get crowded on a couple weekday nights, but never so much that I cant get a workout. The training area is what really makes it stand out. The adjustable systems board, a moonboard, huge campus board, and all the hang boards you can think of. I love it. Only gripe is that it could be bigger, but still 5 starts.
The same yoga instructor who brags about ice climbing Longs peak cancels yoga for 2 of snow. The classes are always full you cant cancel.
HUGE climbing gym with bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing plus fitness classes. They test you out on climbing safety before letting you use top rope and lead. When they put up new routes, you can vote on difficulty level to help them decide. Tons of fun and Ill definitely be back!
Amazing facilities and an impressive space. It does get very crowded during the weekday evenings though, which honestly can ruin the experience. If you can go early mornings or during the day then this place is perfect. If you have to work a 9-5, then its going to be frustrating 80% of the time.
A solid option for indoor rock climbing. As others have said the staff could be more helpful though.
Incredible facility and staff! Highly recommend- you will have an awesome experience.
Love the setting in the bouldering here. I got on a couple routes and those were also well set. The gym provides towel service. Theres an entirely separate floor for training and workout - bouldering - and routes. The lead test was unnecessarily in depth and borderline interrogative. I dont live in the area, but if I did Im pretty sure Movement would be my gym of choice.
This place has friendly environment and well-trained coaches.
Love it, great climbing gym and nice facilities like locker room, showers, yoga studio with classes. This place is one of my favorite things about Denver
Denver has been in need of a climbing gym facelift for ages and Movement delivered. Super excited to see what else this group brings to the area. Routesetting and terrain is amazing and the bouldering areas are great. Great location and super friendly staff!
Stellar staff and such high climbing walls. Can get busy, but what do you expect with a gym of this caliber? They have plenty of equipment, classes and events too. Like their Happy Hour events, check out their Facebook for details!
Great setting, mellow vibe.
Climbs are pretty decent, with autobelays, top rope and sport climbs available, as well as a smaller bouldering area. Parking is very difficult in the evenings. They run out of ropes to lend out to sport climbers on a regular basis. You have to put your name on a waitlist. First time I went I had to wait 45+ mins for a rope. Please spend the money to order more ropes or just make it a policy for people to bring their own and charge less for entry/membership.
I would give 4 stars to the climbing area and 1 star to the weight lifting area if I could. Weird equipment, you always have to set everything up, and theres always someone doing a weird overly complex hipster workout looking like theyre about to hurt themselves. Friendly staff
Love almost everything about this place except they charge for belaying ($10/ visit). Its crazy. Ive never been to a gym that charges when you dont climb.
I love this gym and everything about it!Its grading is accurate. Its clean.Theyre always changing routes.Everyone is friendly and very helpful.
