Had a flat tire late Dec 23 and was worried I would not make it home for Christmas. First they changed my flat to my spare on the 23rd. I drove there on Christmas Eve and they changed my tire completely for a great price and pretty quickly. I was able to make it back home (about a couple hundred miles away) for Christmas. Thank you!

Poor service, bad attitude, dealt with them multiple times and always a hassle, no matter what reason it is that you are dealing with them! Also known for causing damage to your vehicle.

Really professional, the dispatch lady was kind, patient and reassuring. The tow guy Mike called when he got closer. Handled the situation well and level headed. And when your car breaks down on the side of interstate 72, where you can very likely get hit due to terrible driving, and poor human behavior. That says alot. Appreciate you guys again for the 2nd time now. And hopefully the next time I call isnt anytime soon. But itll be these guys. Extremely affordable considering the quality of service provided.

After waiting at best one on pershing for 4 hours for them to tell me they cant fix my tire and having the old hag there yell at me about how busy they were...Shanes was a breath of fresh mechanical air when I took my unfixable tire there they were also very busy but got my tire in and fixed in under 10 mins and the price was unbelievably cheap. Will definitely be a repeat costumer. Highly recommended! Great job, and thank you!

Great prices but hours are extremely confusing.i see it says open 24 hours but I drive by at night and see no light on but tow trucks go in and out at all hours

Wow, where do we even start. Unknowledgeable on how to tow electric cars, horrible customer service, husband and wife team that lets personal issues affect the way the run the business. First Bob and Don the drivers were absolutely amazing and didnt want to be in this situation. This towing company was to pick up and tow my car overnight, they did not, so the following morning BMW had Abraham Lincoln Towing company come out to tow the car. After they showed up they realized the doors were locked, looks as if Shaners showed up prior and took my keys. At this time, two other Shaners drivers show up alongside the Abraham Lincoln Towing company...this is Bod and Don, again great guys...They explain they have my keys and have possession of the car so ALT leaves. During this time BMW assistant is telling me that Shaners is reporting that the car has already been delivered to BMW, which it has not been. This is where the issues start, I get another phone call from BMW and notice that this is a different lady, she comes off very rude and inconsiderate (turns out this is the owners wife) while speaking with her she tells me the car isnt going to be towed today and that the car will sit overnight in the lot...I make it very clear that Im not the one paying for the tow idc how it gets towed it can go to the lot then towed again the following day to BMW, since they dont have a drop lot. Another lady takes over the car, much nicer...turns out its BMW and she is super nice and I then make it clear that the other lady needs to take a breather and treat customers with better service than what she did. (This whole time I have no idea its Shaners towings wife that was rude) BMW says they will call back, about 5 min later Bob and Don show up and explain to me that Shane spoke with them and he has decided to not pick the car up and leave it since that was his wife that was on the line (the rude lady). They end up leaving and not towing the car. What this shows is that Shaners has horrible customer service, and allows there personal issues affect the way they conduct business.

It was somewhat good over all

They flattened 2 of my tires and told me everyday for a week straight that somebody would come by to get it to give me new tires for the ones they damaged and they never did. I finally call up there one last time and they tell me the owner said not to do anything. They still charged me for the tow and my car was never sent to its destination.

Highly recommend Shaners towing! We broke down in Decatur IL, on a Saturday afternoon ... Cindy (dispatch) was extremely helpful & sweet, she sent a mechanic to our location to see if it was an easy fix.. the mechanic came out & was able to get the car started for us. We thanked him & he left, but our trouble did not end there. Some more issues started and we ended up not being able to drive the car, so we had to call for a tow. Todd came out and loaded us up & offered a ride. Unfortunately something wasn’t quite functioning right on the truck, but within less than 5 minutes they had another tow truck there and had our car transferred to it. We now had the pleasure of riding with the owner of the company himself. He made it an enjoyable ride, towed the car the 24mi and even went the extra 7.5 miles to take us all the way home. The employees of this company go above and beyond in the absolute most stressful situations. Much appreciated as they saved our day!

I recently had a blow out on I 72 and my roadside assistance employed Shaners to tow. The staff was very helpful from pick up to repair. Was very thorough in explaining what had happened and next steps needed to ensure my vehicle be at top running conditions. They fixed my problem quickly and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Shaners for anyone experiencing car trouble around the Decatur area.

If I could leave a zero I would. First of all, I called and checked on used tires. I was told $55 a tire mounted and balanced. Thought ok, so I dropped off the tires only to be told they don’t have used in that size. The. I was charged $165 for 2 tires. On top of that, the head was torn. I took it in and dropped it off to be replaced. Once I was told it’d be next, I waited 2 1/2 hours then called back. Well, I’ll be done in 30 minutes. So I arrive 45 minutes later to be told they don’t have a replacement and have to order it. But don’t worry, it’s a free replacement and will be done by 9am tomorrow.I arrive the next day at 5:15pm and behold, no tire.Not only did I spend more than I was told, but I also had to make unnecessary trips. I could have gotten 2 tires at Walmart for the price and time I spent on 1 at Shaners. I will never go to this business again

I had to call in for a tow truck and Nate did above his job and took a look at my van and was very helpful as to what my next steps should be! Saved me a more expensive trip to the repair shop.

My son was in an accident totaled his car..we didnt have the coverage we needed for his accident.. however I contacted the owner and he worked with me in this stressful time.. I highly recommend them..

We are in from out of town and needed a tow, a battery situation, possibly a new alternator. Our tow truck driver brought us to a parts store, on a busy Sunday, to have the alternator checked, as he was worried if he dropped us at the Walmart they wouldn’t be able to fix it. It was bad. He then found that one of their mechanics was in, on a Sunday, to change a tire out. That mechanic stayed for us, changed out the battery and the alternator in under an hour. They are amazing, friendly, fast and priced well. I would recommend them in a minute, to anyone.

Incompetent, unprofessional. Terrible experience. $800 quote changed to over 1200 actual cost without authorization and the car still was not driveable..2200 more at another garage to correct the repairs and finish the job. Dont make the mistake i did...call another tow company and take your car elsewhere...learn from my mistake

We were stranded on the interstate with a flat tire and a flat spare. I called roadside assistance who failed to enter a ticket to get a driver out. After 4 hours we called Shaners. They came right out. They got us back on the road. Polite, caring and very professional. Saved there number in my contacts.

Went in for a use tire was told they didn’t have that size in that store but they’ll check with the Springfield store, the Springfield store had it I was told they’ll have it over that same day and she’ll call when it’s in. I’ve still haven’t heard anything from them and it’s now the following afternoon. Not professional she could’ve called me either way and that didn’t happened. Won’t go there ever again.
