Great boat repair place for trailered boats and pontoons. Been doing business annually or when needed and am never disappointed. Boat repair is expensive, so count on that, but this is a 50 year old family business that doesnt rely on sales, mainly repair plus alterations.

We needed some parts for our boat motor and we were having difficulty finding the specific parts. We also were told by other Marinas that if we found the parts it would be a long while to get parts. We drove over 2 hours rs to pick up the parts they had and they stayed open late for us. Stellar customer service and great honest people to work with. We highly recommend them.

I have an old antique Evinrude 6 HP that I managed to break the shift linkage on. These folks came highly recommended when I made an inquiry on FB looking for suggestions. I could not have been more satisfied with the service, an honesty, I really enjoyed chatting with these folks when I was dropping off and picking up. Give ‘em a shot! You will not be disappointed.

I needed help with an vintage outboard I was restoring. I search on Google and found a family owned business; Dekalb Marina, I figured for a business to be still around since 1968, they have to be doing something right. I called them and spoke with PJ, I told her I was having problems lining up the lower end unit to the motor. PJ told me to just bring it by, shed be more than happy to help. So I stopped by there, and it took PJ only 10 mins to complete, for something that took me 3 days to try and do. This confirmed theory about them having to be doing something right; they do it all right. Professionalism and stellar customer service. They will be getting my business from now on.

I drive out of my way to get my baby serviced here. They are honest and charge accordingly. Very knowledgeable, experienced and give the best advice. They do what they say they will do and finish it when they say they will. They are a diamond in the rough part of town. My boat is 22 years old and runs like a new Singer sewing machine. Very pleased. I would recommend to anyone.

This will be my fourth year using Dekalb Marine. They have been great! Started finding and solving issues with my Galaxy that nobody else could.. Getting me in and out, and as a women boat owner they keep me informed about the technical aspects. I love family owned businesses. I highly recommend them.!!

These are absolutely the NICEST people to deal with. They are very fair, knowledgeable, and kind. Well worth the nearly 1 hour trip I made to go there. Plus they can be contacted through facebook messenger before you make the trip. They also have a scrapyard they can pull parts for you as well.Thank you folks!

What a fantastic resource to have in town, which just adds to the value that Dekalb Marine provides. I recently brought my boat in for some electronics install and every step of the process was as quick and easy as could be. The team is very attentive, and extremely friendly both over the phone and in person. Their labor hour prices are very competitive, and on one occasion Andrew even talked me out of bringing my boat in for work, rather making a suggestion for connecting an additional battery myself with some basic connections. They care about building a relationship and earning your business, versus making a quick buck even if it means you wont come back.The shop is very convenient for anyone in town, so you dont have to drive up to the far northern suburbs for any marine work - thats what brought me in the door in the first place. Additionally, they keep hours that are functional for people who work during the day, as they are open until 6pm weekdays and even on Saturdays. Theres no doubt that I will lean on them as a resource if I ever need any advice or maintenance for my boat.

First time boat owner here. My wife and I dropped of our boat Saturday morning and picked it up in the afternoon. They basically taught us how to drive it. They recommended a couple of things and I so appreciate they did. We did exactly as they said and we had a great weekend on our boat!! Thanks guys!!

Dekalb Marine has been my go to boat mechanic since I bought my first boat. They are honest and reasonable. Give them a try next time you need a great boat mechanic.

Finding a good boat mechanic is like finding a good car mechanic, Few and Far between and this place is a rare oddity these days. This shop has been around since the 60s and it shows. Reliable, NO B.S, direct husband (Andrew), wife (PJ) team take care of business and you. They both repaired my Pro line center console outboard motor in no time.

If I could give 0 stars I would... I have been utilizing the service of this company for many many years, I would have given 5 stars up until TODAY... Due to unfortunate circumstances there is new management... Never would he ever have charged me storage fees... Never would he have told me ridiculous trumped up fees and charges for a repair...the boat is a 1989 legacy that I BOUGHT FROM THEM FOR $1800 3 YEARS AGO THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE A REBUILT ENGINE IN IT. I was appalled to learn whn my husband came home with our boat... Mind you an engine that DOES NOT WORK needs to be repaired would cost us $5000, in order for him to pick up he had to pay the fee of them winterizing the boat. which new mgmt left a message on my VM YESTERDAY AT 1030 SAYING if he didnt hear from me by next week they have to winterize it because freezing temperatures is coming. This boat WAS TECHNICALLY deemed abandoned on the 2nd of dec...never have I heard those words come out of anybodys mouth at this company until this new mgmt came about. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN!!!

Very poor work on my trolling motor. Failed to hook up my fish finder, re-attach my DI transducer, as well as mount the stabilizer bar up on my gunnel rail, instead of the carpet side of the trolling motor . The past visits was a good experience, but this time.....extremely poor!
