Go to Willie!Id definitely recommend coming to this school, especially to Willie. Being a woman with shorter hair, its hard to have cool styles that also look both edgy and feminine, but Willie hit the nail on the head. He had a thorough consultation, asked me questions Id never thought about for my own hair, and I came out with something incredibly cool, fun, and still feminine- not to mention extremely well done.Ill definitely be coming back again, Ive found my lifetime barber! Thanks Blade Craft!
You won’t be disappointed walking into Blade Craft Barber Academy. It is an Amazing atmosphere, staff are very professional, The aesthetic of the place is unique.Definitely the Best Barber Academy in Dallas, Texas
I know this is a barber shop but I heard such great things about Willie cutting women’s hair that I had to check it out for myself. Ladies- cuts are so expensive in any salon so coming here is a pro tip!! $30 for a wonderful cut. Willie layered my hair giving it extra thickness, but also kept my length long. I’m super satisfied and it feels so healthy! You really gave me the best hair cut in Dallas. Thank you Willie
One of the best haircuts I have ever had. Will take about 2 hours if you get the full cut + wash + facial but it is so so worth it. They are learning but they communicate throughout the entire cut to get you exactly what youre looking for
I went in for a routine fade and a beard styling at 3:45 and didn’t get done until 6:15. I realize this is a training center so I was very patient. The barber was nice and engaged me in conversation so I gave him some room for error. The first two hours mostly consisted of Jacob talking to the other barbers, discussing techniques with them, being completely distracted and not knowing when to ask for help.At one point he put the clippers over the same section of my head for ten minutes straight. One of the other students continuously came over to offer some sage advice for techniques to cut a fade and only complicated the process more. At one point there were four students standing around me in a circle talking about their grandparents. The trainers were watching him struggle and only came over at the end when I was noticeably frustrated. One of the trainers eventually had to finish my haircut.I was thanked for my patience but at no point was I issued an apology. In lieu of an apology, all I got was “you good?” every 45 minutes or so.This was the most frustrating haircut of my entire life. Never have I spent more than 30 minutes getting a fade. On top of that, I did not get the beard trim I had scheduled, the facial I was told was complimentary nor did they even wash my hair.I hope this feedback is helpful.
Great atmosphere, location and service. Highly recommend asking for Willie! Dude has perfected his craft and his fades never miss.
Don’t plan on getting your haircut even if you set an appointment. Showed up just to be told they don’t have my name and no one was available. Asked me to come back in an hour despite me telling them I had a funeral. The four stylist and front desk assistant just kept looking begrudgingly around as if it’s a hassle to help someone who set an appointment. Do not waste your time here.
If you’re looking for a good Lineup/Fade Willy is the guy to go to! Very professional!
This was without a doubt the most disappointing haircut Ive ever had. I knew I would be getting a cut from a barber in training, so my expectations werent high, but even then I was let down. My barber was so green, he took 20-30 minutes just to understand what I wanted. I should have walked out then. I wanted only 2 things- straight sides and scissored even-top. I got neither. The Master barber, Alejandro, came by all of 2 times. No final inspection. In fact, he sat behind me and fixed a trimmer for another apprentice for most of the time I was there. Him and my barber spoke amongst themselves in Spanish, which I thought was rude as it pertained to my cut. Even if instructing, its just rude. I speak 3 languages and would never be so callous in company of others who dont speak my languages. When asked to rate my cut out of 10, I said 5-6. My guy was happy with that answer. That tells you how high the bar is. Cut was $30, no beard trim. With tip, $36 was DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT for a very subpar cut which took 1.5hrs. Recommend you do not go here before any important events or if you dont like wearing a hat. Will never return.Edit: For the record, I was NOT refunded as owner stated in their response.
Hands down the best barber school in the DFW. Mrs. Lilly has been nothing but a blessing to me and my business. She takes the time out of her day to bless and inspire others. Bladecraft offers so many opportunities for aspiring barbers, veterans, and contributes to the community with discounts, special offers, and most importantly education.
I love my haircut ! It’s amazing, the cut was super long but it was definitely worth the wait I feel like. I went in to get my Afro cut all the way off to a taper fade. I always switch up my looks often so I asked CJ to suggest something for me, he went over to his Instagram showed me a few things and boom we got to cutting. He was extremely helpful and extremely welcoming considering I am apart of the LGBTQ+ community I felt like I belonged for once. Not only that the people at the front desk followed Covid guidelines and took temps and led us to a wash station to wash our hands. They had fancy towels and more. The check out session was amazing and quick considering I had a photo shoot to go to right after I left here, walked in having no plans left going to a. Photo shoot. I also like how they had someone to grade the work and critique before it was done. That’s a plus as well. If it was a little bit quicker I would rate a 5 star but I will definitely be coming back to this place for a cut!
Blade blew me away on my first visit. Incredible customer service and a very personable staff. I also love that its training people who are really passionate about what theyre doing and eager to learn.Great energy and skills throughout the whole staff, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a new barbershop
This is one of the most professional barber academy schools in the Dallas area. Students are very professional. Professional environment. I even recommend and send coworkers to get straight razor shaves. Absolutely one of the best places to visit.
I’ve been in a couple of times for dermaplanes and these guys have a great vibe. Lilly (owner) is extremely knowledgeable and cares about her students on another level. All of the staff I’ve encountered are great, and she’s done a great job of offering Dallas the best
30 bucks for a taper fade when they are teaching them? Take your money elsewhere they didnt even wash my hair... overpriced
Really don’t have a word to describe how good they are starting from from desk to their barbers. They care and listen for the concerns of their clients and they will make sure that you will be happy with the service that they do for you .Keep up guys just like this especially you Darian and thank you for taking such a good care of my hair and wish you luck on the future .You guys are the best .
Went for a tour so that I can attend school. I found my next destination to my career.
Came into BCBA and was welcomed with a friendly face and modern decor. The person working the front asked if I cared for a drink. The service here is superb. I got a hair cut for my son which was great. And I received a relaxing facial with essential oils and warm towel. I would recommend Blade Craft Barber Academy for anyone looking for a excellent cut, cool shave or a relaxing facial. I will be returning to get a haircut here. Thank you!!!
Best barber experience Ive ever had. The guys are very professional and take their time to provide the best cuts!
The level of service was top notch. The instructor was definitely involved and coaching at multiple stages of the cut, and I enjoyed seeing and being a part of that. Darius, my Student Barber has a great touch and will be great with more time behind the chair. It would have been 5 Stars if the cut didnt cost me as much as going to a mid-range to high-end barber with years of experience. Oh, and I was in the chair for over 2 hours, and that really sucked.
Absolutely amazing experience at Blade Craft. I visited with a friend’s 15 year old daughter who has alopecia. She was interested in shaving her head. As someone who shaves his head, I took her under my wing. The entire Blade Craft crew blew us away with their professionalism and friendliness. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I also came away with very smooth head. Great cut and even better people! 🙏
Just had my beard and hair cut there. Seriously the best and most professional shop Ive ever been to. Im horrible with names even though he told me like 3 times but either Mario or Marco was my barber with the leadership of Noe. They identified a few areas of improvement in my beard and of course the straight edge shave is out of this world. Not only will I continue to go back, but will only speak of this place when asked where to get a haircut.
Very average haircut for $30, and I was at the barber shop for 1 hour and 20 minutes. I was not aware that my haircut would take an hour and a half to cut for what is a very simple cut.And the audacity to charge 30 for something so average and so long is what astounds me. I mean, incredibly pathetic to take 110 minutes for such a simple ordeal, and to end up with something that left me unsatisfied, which means Ill have to spend another $30 to rectify it elsewhere.
Hands down one of the best places to get your haircut!! Shout out to Valentín (especially Valentín) and Jesse for always making my visit execptional.
Best barbershop in the Triple D
If you have never been to Blade Craft Barber Academy, I highly recommend you take the time to stop in and get a service. I came in for a haircut and ended up with much more. Let’s just say the facial, haircut and beard shaping were exceptional. Thank you Blade Craft Barber Academy. I will be back...
Came to visit Modern Barber Academy & get my 8 year old son a fresh haircut & lets just say we had an excellent experience with the Academy along with Susan the barber & Mr. E!! Highly recommended and will return 💕
Sometimes you hear about places from others in passing, see updates from a business that are inspiring, and then you finally visit to find it to be even more amazing! I met Lilly to discuss her approach to integrating the community into the barber training which led to a tour and straight razor shave. The space is welcoming with a mix of industrial and modern touches with staff and students warmly introduced to me. The staff set a standard of excellence and passion that reflects in the students.I was paired up with a fellow Veteran who was given the arduous task of clean shaving my beard of steel which is extremely coarse and difficult to shave. She did not give up but doubled down on the hot towels and pre-shave to soften the hair. It was a great experience as we had a meaningful discussion throughout the process. The ability to multitask, explain the reasons for each step/product, and keep the natural flow of inviting conversation is an art. Im glad to give a glowing review and look forward to the continued success of Blade Craft.
I love Blade Craft. I have been going to a barber shop all of my life, but it seems that in the last 10 years it has really been dying out. Blade Craft is recapturing the art of barbering and bring it into the 21st century. From the decor to the service to people. Chris was my barber, and did an amazing job. I havent been this happy with a cut in years. I also got to meet some of the instructors and other students and was very impressed with them as well. Thanks to Chris for the amazing cut, thanks to Blade Craft for reviving the art!
Over priced for a messed up haircut and staff was rude about it and asking for a tip after missing up my hair
Thanks to Tristan for making me look SO less homeless! A very enjoyable experience... and my first haircut with a whisky in hand (we dont do that in the UK but really should!). Everyone at the academy could not have been more friendly and helpful. Thanks yall, from sunny London.
I hated this place. I would give them zero stars if I could. They couldn’t fit doing my bald head without an appointment with 8 barbers there with no one in the chairs or waiting to be seen. I went up the street to Cuts by Carlos at 1700 Pacific St Suite 210 and had a great cut by a true professional. He cuts black people hair and all other types. Not like this “Acedemy “ They might as well have had a sign that said “whites only” !!!Very sad Dallas. I sure this place doesn’t represent the entire city.
Great place Nakomah hooked me up with his 1st ever head shave and he did a great job!
Wow! What an experience, I did not know my face could get that soft anymore :-) Great location, fun atmosphere, and wonderful people. Lilly, Noe, and the team are real pros!
I had a fantastic hair cut and beard shaping today. Almost two hours of bliss for only $30. If youre I the area and fins yourself needing a cut or shave, youd better not miss this place!
Wonderful experience, Id really recommend Dylan! He did a phenomenal job, and was super nice the whole time. Look out Paris, Texas, youre gonna have a really great barber coming your way!!
I understand that the barbers are students but that was the worst haircut Ive ever had and for $30 too! I was in the barber shop for close to 2 and a half hours as well... so if you want to screw up your hair and have both time and money to waste this is the place to go.
Dont even know where to start. On my way back to DFW to head home to Atlanta, stopped in here to get a haircut to prepare for a drill weekend. After and hour and a half of bliss, I figured extend it with a shave. Best haircut and shave Ive had in my life. Thanks to Chris- next time I have to come to Dallas, Ill make sure I schedule it around when I need a cut
My husband went to this place and had such a bad experience. BLACK PEOPLE !!!!Don’t waste your time or money. They don’t want your money.Go to Cuts by Carlos a mile away from these guys
Raindrops, drop tops, this might definitely need to be the #1 stop!Okay so while on vacation we were looking around Deep Ellum and different art districts and stumbled upon this place. We were wondering why it was so deserted and nobody was there and it happened to be that the students here were on a field trip at the Ford dealership giving haircuts to the gentlemen and ladies there. Immediately thought how cool and inquired about more information. They told me to come back in 2 hours and that I would not be displeased.Oh boy! Im definitely glad I listened after having a few glasses of wine and some fun, came back... both my girlfriend and I received a facial, I got a head shave with a straight razor and got my beard trimmed and lined up better than I have ever before. And the kicker was this was all done for free! And it came with a glass of scotch and a glass of wine. Talk about knowing how to make a customer feel good, this place does it hands down.OMG Im from Tennessee but I almost want to fly out twice a week just to get my hair done (Beard,Im bald) lol. Im not quite the billionaire able to do that yet but who knows I might have to make it there just for that! I love the detail and the attention that everybody gave me as well as supervisors coming in to make sure everything was okay and got the students etc. These people definitely know what theyre doing and will probably be some of the best barbers in the nation! Go Texans!THEY DO HAVE ITEMS FOR PURCHASE AS WELL AND I DONT THINK YOU WILL BE BE DISPLEASED! TAKE IT FROM SOMEBODY WITH EXPERIENCE.JUST WOW! LEFT SPEECHLESS AND I THINK YOU WILL TOO!
Best place to get a shave or a haircut! Awesome atmosphere and the people working their are friendly and and awesome as well! Love the owner Lilly very sweet and will put a smile on your face and she is gorgeous!!
You cant leave here with a bad hair cut. Its not possible. Great place to kick back, get a cut, and enjoy yourself.
Cool place. My go to shop for straight razor head and beard shaves. Low rates, good people.
I’ve never been happier with a haircut! Really! Love coming here!
Just went here for the first time today. Great place, loved the environment and how professional everyone was. Got a great cut for a great price! Ill be going back regularly!
I havent had a chance to come in yet for a tour of the school. I cant wait though.... just wondering if anyone who has knows the tuition for a crossover license
Andrew gave me the smoothest and most pain free head shave I have ever received. He also did a phenomenal job on my beard trim.
This may be the coolest, most well thought out barber shop/school I have ever seen. I was lucky enough to get a tour of the place and the amount of detail and how well thought out the entire facility was is mindblowning. #chasomwashere #chasomapproved
The Turkey Trot 2018 Basting Team was a burst of energy!!! A really memorable time was had by all!
First time vist... I promise, not the last! I had my beard trimmed and my head straight razored. Eder did a fantastic job, the entire staff was gracious and cordial the entire time. I traveled 1 1/2 hours one way to partake and it was worth every second.
Couldnt get a haircut before I left NYC. Im glad I bumped into Blade Craft on my way out of Pecan Lodge. Service was impeccable (thanks Madison!). Ill be back whenever Im in town.
Best Barber school in DFW! Great energy! Great Shaves! Love it!
Went here today to check out the academy and walked out with a killer beard trim and clean up. Are really wanting to learn to be a barber here!!!
Friendly staff who really know what they are doing!
I went to get a haircut as a patron, and was blown away by not only an amazing haircut but also the customer service there. Bladecraft totally ROCKS!
The place to go for an early morning cut:)
