I moved in during the pandemic in April of 2020. I was working through it and needed a place and the staff then was super helpful and got me in fast. During my time here the staff has changed over to new management, there have been bumps here and there but that’s always to be expected with change! I enjoy living here and the problems that a lot of people write reviews on (parking, key fobs, new management, etc.) have all been addressed and fixed as the apartments have evolved. Quintin and Olga have always been so kind and helpful no matter what I reach out about. I hope to live here for as long as I can because it really is a great place to live. I would recommend this community to everyone wanting to move to this area.

My boyfriend and I had been looking everywhere around Dallas for a reasonably priced spot given the high market right now. I’m so glad we came across this property. There was trash everywhere and it was so unprofessional at other properties we toured before coming here. I was so glad and impressed by how clean and professional everything was at Bellrock— this is how it should be! Quentin was amazing throughout the whole process. My boyfriend and I went in for a tour and he was so friendly and personable! We decided to apply and Quentin helped me with all of the questions I had and was very knowledgeable! So glad to call this place home!

Great Place to Live. New property managers looking to address previous concerns with common areas and limited parking. Tight knit community. I have lived here for over a year and I really enjoy the location. It is surrounded by quiet neighborhoods, but still close enough to enjoy the bars, restaurants, and shops on Bishop. This complex was perfect for my husband and Is first place. Our main concerns were limited parking and lack of communication with package arrivals, both seem to be getting addressed with new management.

If I could put 0 stars, I would! On March 23, 2021 (during a power outage) the resident in apartment 2238 opened my door and tried to burglarize my apartment while my family and I were inside! When my fiancé shot him for entering our home we called the police. Even tried to taking him to the hospital. My fiancé was arrested and the man was taken to the hospital. Later that night the man ripped his IVs out at the hospital, went back to the BELLROCKS and tried entering multiple other residents apartments (according to what the office personnel, Olga and Quentin had told my fiancé and I) Other residents even came to us to tell us that they had problems with this man and had made complaints to the front office beforehand!! The man went back to live at the unit, the office personnel said they were served with an eviction notice and were to leave the premises in a certain amount of time. We had to leave the apartment for that time because they made threatening phone calls to my fiancé and people in hoodies kept coming by to look at our apartment. On the day that they were supposed to have vacated the premises, we called the office and they were now telling my fiancé and I that WE had to vacate the premises!!! Had we not called when would they have told us that? How long were they planning this and not telling us? I set up a ring camera outside my door and came to find out the residents who broke into our apartment stayed. We became homeless because of this and are still fighting the legal system to this day!!! Please STAY FAR AWAY from THE BELLROCKS BISHOP ARTS AT ALL COSTS!!! YOUR SAFETY AND LIVELIHOOD IS FAR MORE VALUABLE THAN ANYTHING!!! TAKE IT FROM ME!

Due the cold weather the pipes above my unit bursted and flooded my apartment. So I can’t stay in my apartment because all of my belongings and the apartment itself is ruined because of water damage. I talked to the community manager about living arrangements and they said they’d give me a $100 credit so I could stay in a hotel. They also said I could stay in the unit, which at the time was still flooded with 4 inches of standing water. The water damage workers came to clean up the water in the unit late last night but the leasing consultants weren’t around that late just maintenance so they couldn’t get into the unit. So nobody could get into the unit until the next day. Today I called about possible arrangements for living, the only options they gave me is to sign a new lease for a new unit, and a price different of 200-400 dollar increase of my current rent of $1485. The community manager told me I have to take the price increase because they can’t control the pipes bursting inside the building. I’ll will be putting periodic updates until the situation is finished.

I lived in this complex for 2 years. Initially, the former management team was great, but six months after moving in a new team took over and it was horrible. There was never any parking, and the new team was corrupt. I requested in writing that maintenance never enter my place without my permission nor without notice unless it was a true emergency. They acknowledged the request but ignored it. I would come home to notes on my counter as to why they let themselves in. Eventually I began to have items coming up missing and they even stole my daughters bank where she had been saving birthday, holiday and gift money she had been saving over the years, well over $500. I eventually bought a new car and asked for another parking permit. Since they let themselves in on any other occasion, I asked if they would slip it under my apartment door or place it in the apartment. They agreed but didnt do it. Instead, they called the tow company they had an agreement with and over in the early morning (btwn 2-3 am) my car was towed and I incurred Uber fees getting to it, fees to get it out and more fees to repair the damages the tow truck made to a brand new vehicle that still didnt have tags yet. People say dont waste your money and that you can find better for cheaper. I say good luck with that. All the newer complexes are beautiful inside and out but are being run by corrupt property management companies charging high rents equivalent to mortgage payments, charging for water, trash, pest, etc. So what are the owners paying? Tenants dont OWN the property. This is gentrification, greed and corruption that even God cant seem to save us from. Beware. They all lure you in with promises that they dont keep when you sign on the bottom line.

The staff and community are the 3 stars on the list. Maintenance is extremely friendly and helpful. Office staff is friendly and try to help the best they can. It is very dog friendly and the community who lives here is better than I have seen at all the other apartments i have lived. But I have to give -1 for the parking situation which has been stated many times. If you work past 9pm on any given night, parking will be absolutely terrible. And if you have a truck or full sized SUV, you might as well start scratching up you car on your own, because people will constantly hit you vehicle. Another -1 is related to parking. There are no parking/tow enforcement signs, but late at night there are constantly vehicles in those spots blocking traffic or the gate. I have brought this issue up to management several times and the response I get is that if the tow company(a small small operation with multiple apartments which they service) does not come by, there will not be any enforcement taken. You cannot call the tow company to issue a parking complaint. With all this said, I have lived here for 2 years with very little issue outside of the parking and I would recommend it to anyone who owns a compact vehicle, or wants to buy several car ports/garages for every vehicle.

This is just not a good community to live in. The property manager isnt fit to run a complex and it has gone extremely downhill since he has took over. First off, they dont follow their own lease agreement and enter your apartment when they like without proper notification. I addressed the issue with the property manager and he assured me it wouldnt happen again, but due to their negligence it did. It took about a week and a half for the property manager to get back to me, stating he was busy. I saw him in the office multiple times, where we could have addressed the situation but he decided to avoid it. At the end of the lease I also asked to speak with him regarding charges that were unclear, but I waited over a month and a half and still did not hear from him. Even called twice to follow up. I encountered a maintenance issue and addressed it with the regional manager and even the post below told me to get with the complex regarding the issue. When i attempted to no one responded to my messages. They only care about getting you to sign the lease. There has been no improvement to parking or the conditions of the complex. Which are the most common complaints in the reviews. The gates are always broke and the pool is used more by the surrounding neighborhood than actual residents. They sent a memo stating theyd only allow guests in the pool due to covid, but thats a lie; they rarely clean the pool area. Not every other hour like they advertised. Janeth and Cruz were pleasant to deal with, but thats about the only thing this complex has going for it.

This is my very first time writing an review anywhere. I absolutely love the Bell Bishop Arts complex. Ive been here for 3 years now and will be renewing my lease in October. I started off in a one bedroom and after a year in that apartment, I upgraded to a two bedroom. The entire complex is so beautiful, the staff members are AWESOME! They all know my name! Parking for me isnt bad since I have a covered parking. Gym is very nice and the pool and clubhouse and always nice and clean.I think its totally worth the price. If I need something repaired, its usually done the same day or next day. The only thing I hate is on Sundays when the Church is having service, youre not able to turn into the complex, youll have to make a u-turn then come into the complex. Never had a major issue here, no noise from my neighbors and no kids hanging out in the parking lots! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

My wife and I had a great experience living here. We stayed one year then had to move more north due to our jobs but we really enjoyed it. A lot of the reviews complain about parking but we had covered parking so we didn’t have a parking issue. Which we certainly recommend covered parking if it’s in your budget since Dallas has crazy weather. We also really enjoyed the amenities and when we had friends over they loved seeing the design of Bell Bishop. What stood out to my wife and I the most was the office staff and maintenance. They are excellent and seem to really care about people. Which it reflected in how they always interacted with my wife and I.We are grateful for our time living at Bell and would certainly return.-Derek S.

I lived there for 4 years...It was amazing when it first opened as Alta West. I rented it site unseen and we fell in love with the neighborhood. There is a lot to do! As time went on, Bell took it over and we began seeing a changes in the community and not for the good. You could clearly see Bell stopped or slowed resource funding for upkeep of the property. High turn over and a lack of respect for the community, left the hallways trashed and stained. The trash room on holidays is ridiculous. trash bags stacked up 5-6 ft high.... They hiked rent and before I knew it, I was paying rent that was equal to a sizable mortgage. I dont blame them - the neighborhood became a hot spot but I chose personal equity over diminishing value of the rental property. Security tried its best but sometimes the bad just got in... we fell victim to it a couple of times. Parking is a serious issue for the property. The saving grace of this place is maintenance management team. If I could give you potential renters any advice - do your due diligence and research.

Ive been living here for almost 3 years nowTHE GOOD STUFF:1. The maintenance team is amazing!2. The space is neat! The reason we moved in was because of the kitchen. We wanted an open kitchen with an island.3. Big patio doors/windows.4. The community/neighborhoodThe Bad stuff:1. Parking is terrible. Its true the parking spaces are very narrow and if you arrive to the complex late at night, youre left to park in areas that arent technically parking spots. However, there are no signs that indicate that you are parking illegally. Tow trucks will come in at any given time and not care about that and tow your car.2. PACKAGES. When packages are delivered to the front desk, they are supposed to email you to let you know. Theres been several occasions where my packages show they arrived days ago, and I never received an email from them. They recently changed the staff, so Im giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Well for all those saying that parking is an issue, here is your evidence: $4000 worth of damage. Absolutely no cameras in place and the unpleasant property manager said there are no plans to put them up and they aren’t required to as well. If you are going to build apartments, why don’t you build enough parking spaces so that cars don’t get hit.I asked what the company is doing to fix the issue or how they can make it up to me (I.e offer me a reserved spot) and she said “it is what it is” with a pompous smile on her face. The gates don’t even work so they remain open 24/7 AND the doors leading into the building never work so any bum off the street can just walk right into the building. My advice: you can find something similar, in a nicer area, with much better parking for cheaper.

Out of all the self-proclaimed luxury apartments in the Bishop Arts District this one doesn’t live up to that proclamation. I’ve viewed the other luxury apartments in the area and I’m currently living in one of them. In my opinion Bell Bishop Arts Apartment falls short. So I’ll just call it what it is. This is a slightly above average apartment complex with horrible parking and suspect billing practices, trying to take advantage of its proximity to the Bishop Arts district. I’ll start with the inside. The kitchen is nice and the appliances are decent but they are definitely not luxurious. I have better appliances in a home that I bought 10 years ago. The bathroom is spacious with modern cabinetry and sink. However, my tub kept getting clogged every 4 or 5 months and I had to use Drano to solve the problem. Parking is horrendous and the parking spaces are way too small. I’m sure this was done to get as many tenants as possible into a parking lot meant for ¾ the number of residents. You should also be prepared to pay about $30 to $40 for water. The last month I was there I was only in my apartment for 2 days that month and I still had a $20 water bill. I’m not sure how they came up with that. The overall look of the building is nice with the exception of the floors in the stairwell. For some reason they look old and dusty. They key fob’s are cheap and mine didn’t always work even after the battery was changed. The people in the leasing office were very nice and always helpful the entire time I lived there. Overall, I would only recommend living here if you worked close by and you wanted to avoid any kind of commute. Other than that reason I would probably not recommend it.

The apartments are decent and relatively updated. However, management is only concerned about keeping you happy until you sign your lease. Once you become a resident it seems any problems you may have are none of their concern. Persisting in order to have an issue resolved, will only result in them becoming rude, and aggressive. It is also important to be aware that they allow a third party towing company to have unrestricted access to the gated parking areas in the early hours of the morning. Parking is incredibly tight, and at some point you will encounter unexplained scratches and dings on your vehicle. The only way to avoid this is via covered parking, or a personal garage.Edit: I felt it was necessary to add that the hallways are constantly covered in filth, and not forgetting to mention the dog feces on the stairs for the past several weeks.

Tl;dr: Wonderful management, terrible parkingHeres the deal with this place, from what Ive learned in my few months living here. The management team AND the maintenance team are incredibly deserving of 5 stars. Both are friendly, proffesional, and thorough. The apartments are very cute, I love my unit.HOWEVER; and this is a big however, the parking is TRASH. There are not enough parking spots for tenants, let alone any guests that may come over. A good portion of the parking spots are very narrow, which make the situation even more dire. I have been late to work multiple times because Ive been blocked in by cars parking along the fence line. Im pretty sure the tow truck that rolls through every night is a figment of my imagination, since I have never seen them tow anyone parked illegally. Also, there is a problem with loiterers. People from the surrounding area will come through the gates and use the amenities, such as the pool and grill areas. Theyll usually leave if confronted, and the security officer takes it very seriously, but it is a nuisance. The pros here did outweigh the cons which is why i decided to go with the 5-Star rating. The apartment does have issues, like with any place, but all in all, its been a pleasure living here.

Ive been living in a one bedroom apartment for the past year. Its been a good experience living here at Bell Bishop Arts. But like any other residential facility, they have some pros and cons.Pros -The apartment layout is absolutely fantastic, definitely the most unique one bedroom that I came across in my extensive search. The features and amenities are updated and modern. While the neighborhood does have some spots that arent great, I think its nice to be close to Bishop Arts District (5 mins) and downtown (10-15 mins).Maintenance staff is helpful. My service requests are taken care of in a timely manner.Cons -Parking as mentioned in many reviews is a major issue. Parking spots are too small even for my tiny car!The management team has changed since I moved in and things are very different now. I had a smooth process when I moved in. Now, Im treated like a customer not a resident.Rent is too high for the neighborhood. For the same price, there are options in better neighborhoods. Not every apartment has a bath tub. May not be important to everyone but for the price Im paying, it like to be able to relax in my home! All in all, this is an average place to be. Wont recommend unless you have no other option.Update - I reduced my rating to two after realizing that they wouldnt work with me to renew the lease and are quoting an outrageously high rent but have put up my apartment for lease for a much lower price, despite of telling them that I would prefer to stay back!P.S - Check your lease! After lease expiration a resident is moved to a month to month basis costing higher, which is ok. But if you require residents to give a 60 day notice on a month to month lease costing $1700, thats called ripping you off.

My stay here, while generally nice, was not worth it in the end. Some of the issues experienced here were with things that cheaper complexes usually experience--- not a $1300+ loft type- apartment community located in Oak Cliff.-When it comes to staff: the maintenance crew is awesome, assistant manager (Brandi) is great and that is about it (based on my interactions). I signed with different management and new management seemed unorganized and unsure.-Parking is horrible--the spots are small for SUVs and there arent enough spaces vs. vehicles. People ruin each others cars all the time. They push the (pricey) reserved spots and garages so they dont have to really address this issues. Your guests will most likely park on the street whenever they come. While not terrible, the option to park somewhere safer is usually slim due to residents using visitor parking?? Come experience the parking at night for a true demonstration! Worse than a college apt community.-The community gates are ALWAYS broken---always (no exaggeration). Several times I did not feel safe at night walking to my door because the parking gate was broke, side gate was broke, and the gate to enter into the apts was broke (all at the same time for several days at a time). Or left open by residents!-Very clean property. Looks nice inside and outside (I had a great pool view and the apartment amenities worked very well! When I needed something fixed; they came out no later than 24hrs business day)-Valet trash is cool (if you get off work/come home in time to have it outside). For a $25 required fee, I took my own trash out majority of the time.-The complex ammenities are generally good (pool, fitness, activities, bike shop, etc)-Living near (not in) Bishop Arts District is cool.-Your apartment is ventilated pretty good and I rarely heard my neighbors.-My welcome mat became missing and I brought this issue up to the team, twice. The floors were being cleaned and they moved everyones mats. Mine wasnt returned. They offered to pay for a brand new one because they could not find mine. I sent the info in, Brandi sent it to the manager, and she never responded. I didnt bother any further because I knew, one day, I would write this review.Overall, I enjoyed my stay but regretted signing my lease within 3 months of moving in. Again, the price vs. experience was not worth it. My review is honest based on my 14 month stay. I never write reviews for anything---not even my Bible app. But I figured this might be useful to someone.

Maybe if we lived in a loft DOWNTOWN or something similar. The prices are outrageous. Did i mention that we dont even have a bath tub?? & our kitchen is the only flooring with linoleum wood floors? Tge reat is covered with an ugly and cheap carpet. The gym/fitness center is equipped with outdated setups and is so small its uncomfortable with more than 3 people at a time.
