I started going to Mark in 2013 and have gotten great haircuts every time. Hes a classic old-school barber - great cut, great conversation, interesting folks also there to get their hair cut, and sports on the TV. Hell remember your name and how you like your cut. Hes old school, so if youre looking for a hot towel and online check-in you may be disappointed. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Great, friendly guy! A little pricier than the chains, but more personable and you get the local barbershop experience. Mark really gets to know his customers and shows he cares about how things are going.Be aware that he only accepts cash, but hes very understanding if you need to run nearby to get some.

Mark has been my go to barber since I came back to Iowa City in 2009. You do need cash and you have to plan around the hours. But, Mark never forgets me and takes a personal interest. My wife really likes how I look when Im done, and she looks at me more than I do.

DO NOT GET A HAIR CUT HERE. Mark has been cutting hair for 20 years and he still cant properly do a fade worst haircut Ive ever had in my life and it was 20 bucks. I told him exactly what I wanted and he began to tell me in the middle of a haircut every barbers guards are different so I wouldnt be getting exactly what Im used to getting. When I went to hand him my debit card he told me he only takes cash so I had to walk across the street to an ATM and spend three dollars to pay him 20.
