My GSD is a patient in the physical therapy rehabilitation program. She is preparing for hip replacement surgery at UGA next month. Ive had the most positive experience with Candice. Candice is compassionate and gentle with my girl and no matter how busy she is, will always answer any questions. Candice always has a smile on her face and provides outstanding service to make sure my baby is well cared for. She has an outstanding work ethic and goes out of her way to be helpful. Thank you Candice for caring!
I must say being in the hospitality business, the staff and the doctors at this vet are beyond exceptional. I have been coming to this vet prior to the new ownership and thought it was good then, but now it is over the top. Excellent facility and unreal staff. From the front counter to the doctors. Great job to you guys!! In this time of covid you are A+!!!!
We have a very difficult dog in our home who trusts no one in the white Vet coat. The entire staff at Weems Road is very caring and understanding of all of our pets needs. Very Grateful to have them in Columbus.
They will charge you a $150 fee for an emergency appointment, plus $49 and any other necessary treatments and their only justification is its policy. Yet you CANT even come in ASAP you have to wait hours later. Theres NO such thing as an emergency appointment. You are basically paying $199 to be seen eventually. No other vet has this policy, I went elsewhere and received a same day appointment with NONE of those EXTRA fees.
I was so disappointed in this place. I never chose this place. Our cat was transferred here because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Her regular Doctor was Dr. Young at the All Cat Clinic. Our 19 year old was losing a lot of weight so we took her to the Weems Road Animal Clinic. They said that she was dying and she was in the final stages of kidney failure and recommended that we put her to sleep. So we took her to the River Road Animal Hospital for a second opinion because this cat may be old but she has a lot of life left in her. The Doctor there, Dr. Houston checked her out and said that she was perfectly healthy except she has a thyroid issues. Dr. Houston prescribed some medication and our cat is now gaining weight and is healthy and happy. Thank God we didn’t listen to the people at Weems Road Animal Hospital.
Marty was well taken care of there. Unfortunately, there were new doctors every time we went there for a check up.
I absolutely recommend never had any issues
I can not tell you what a blessing they were. My baby got very sick very fast and they made his last few days so comfortable. I really want to say thank you to Frauka. She is what I would wish on anyone to have in a situation like that you can tell how passionate she is about her job. She was what I needed in that time and I can not express how mush she impacted the process. Thank you so much.
Had to make an emergency appointment for my kitten. Customer service was absolutely wonderful, the process was super easy and timely considering the pandemic, and the vet was absolutely wonderful explaining everything to me. We will definitely be bringing all of our animals back.
We recently switched to Weems Road Animal Hospital on the recommendation of a friend when our vet moved out of state. From our first appointment, Ive been really impressed. Their COVID safety measures are great, and theyre doing everything curbside during the pandemic. Recently, our much loved 10-year-old dog Baby has been having health problems, and Dr. Humphries suggested we get a heart workup from a specialist. Unfortunately, the specialist found a tumor on Babys heart. I had just arrived home from the specialist appointment when Dr. Humphries from Weems Road Animal Hospital called to tell me she had just read the specialists report. She said she was very sorry and asked if we wanted a referral to Auburn. Her proactiveness and kindness made me realize we definitely made the right choice of a new veterinarian. I highly recommend Weems Road if you need a vet that truly cares about you and your pets in the Columbus, GA area.
I have been taking my two pups here for all their checkups since I got them. Weems was recommended to me by a friend and I have had encounters with all of their fantastic veterinary staff. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. They take the time to explain everything and address any questions or concerns I may have. I have never had any issues getting appointments scheduled and on more than one occasion have been able to drop in day of to see a vet when one of the puppies were sick. They go above and beyond and I would recommend them to any of my friends.
Had an appointment for 1015, wife waited inside her car until 1100 before they came to get my dog? First bad experience here.
We love Weems Road Animal Hospital and Doctor McDermott. We have been going to him for years. All the doctors in there and all staff are very cordial and friendly and will bend over backwards to help you. My dog Gypsy loves it there. They are in the process of building a new state-of-the-art facility right next door to it. Trust me, you cant go wrong here.
The entire staff are very knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. I am forever grateful for the care they provide for all of my animals, and the compassion they showed when I recently lost my senior dog.
I needed a vet to do a health certificate for my dog and Weems Road Animal Hospital was the only vet in Columbus that was able to help me. Shout out to Hannah in particular who was absolutely amazing at helping me figure out what all I would need to get my fur baby through the flight as easily as possible!
Excellent! Wish I would’ve came here way before . They truly care about your animals and know their stuff. Worth every penny. Charlie enjoyed his check up over night .
Both of my fur babies were well taken care of by the amazing staff. They were great explaining everything when it came to vaccinations, flea, tick, and heartworm medications options. Plus the cost didnt break the bank. I will definitely be back you, guys really eased my mind. Thanks😊
Ive only used this very 4 times, but Ive used other vets in Columbus more and I can say this vet is the best. I have never had any issues scheduling and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The veterinarians there are also quick to see each patient on time and they are extremely patient when you ask them questions concerning your fur-babies.
I love this facility. If anyone is looking for a vet in Columbus this is the place to go. The staff is extra friendly and knowledgeable and really care about your pet. I have since moved but still bring my baby to this facility.
Was recommended this vet after unsatisfactory care by another local vet center. Could not be more pleased with professionalism and care shown by the staff. They are willing and comfortable doing procedures with the owner nearby unlike other places that simply whisk your pet away into some back room and stick you with a bill.
My Saint Bernard puppy was extremely ill. We went to three different vets including the Auburn University pet hospital, where we were told our boy had no chance of survival, and the most humane thing we could do for him was euthanize him.We were told if we wanted to save his life we had to be ready to spend a lot of money. They charged us a lot of money to “keep our dog alive” because apparently he had a congenital deformation. We decided to go to this clinic after reading all the good reviews. We are so happy we came here. Dr. Scott McDermott examined our boy did X-rays and gave him a strong medicine to fight his pneumonia. He did what none of of the other vet did; he asked us about our dogs health history and was able to conclude he was sick due to the amount of stress he was put on after traveling all the way from Poland, the change of environment, the change of weather, even the polen! He gave us hope and was the only doctor who didn’t tell us our Theodore was doing to die. If you are considering bringing your pet here, please do! From the moment we spoke to Dr. Scott McDermotte, we knew he wanted to help our dog out instead of immediately talking about how much money his care was going to cost.It is refreshing to find a compassionate place with people who genuinely care about animals. We are so grateful for this animal hospital and the vet that saved our puppy’s life. This clinic will be the only place we take our dogs and cats from now on!Thank you so much for what you did for our family!
I had to take my dog in for an emergency operation for Pyometra. The vet was extremely nice and professional, and took her in right away. They saved her life, and I am so thankful for it. I didnt have the money to pay up front so they where willing to except a small deposit and pay the rest at a later date because it was an emergency. These guys are amazing.
I moved to Columbus a couple of months ago and needed to find a vet fast because of my Miniature Schnauzer eating a coil for a vape this past Saturday. I called around to about six different offices trying to find the best one I could since I really didn’t know which one would be best. I can honestly say that I am so happy I found Weems Road Animal Hospital. From the moment the receptionist answered the phone I had a good feeling about this vet. I can’t remember her name, but she was so kind and reassuring that we would find the perfect solution to helping my Schnauzer either pass the coil out or surgically removing it. I made the appointment and came in around 2pm when everyone was coming back from lunch. The receptionist asked what my dogs name was and knew exactly who we were. Being in a field of work, myself, that sees and speaks with hundreds of people each day it was heart felt to know she knew us just by my baby’s name. I’m not 100% sure on the Vet that we specifically spoke with once we went back, but she was more than amazing! There was literally no wait time to see her. She expressed every option for us and cared for my Schnauzer like she was her own. That’s something that I’ve never really had the experience of with other vets. When I explained food allergies and spoke with her about how I used to feed a raw diet and was thinking of switching to home cooked, she never once put me down and tried to switch me to Science Diet. I’ve never had that experience either. When I left today, with our surgery appointment set for Friday, I’ve never felt more relieved. I hate that my Schnauzer has to have the surgery, but I’m honestly, so happy that the vets of Weems Road Animal Hospital will be the ones to do it. I hope you guys don’t see me that often, but as long as I’m in Columbus, GA, you will have all my business!!Side note - I was so impressed with just the phone conversation I had with the receptionist, I chose this vet office over all the others with them being a higher price on an office visit and X-ray. If that says anything about the type of service you will receive. There is no price on knowing you’ll have a staff of people who are truly doing this for the animals and not just to make a buck.
Always a pleasure to work with, have been going there 20+ years (Dr Satterwhite) and the new Docs are super
I am a very happy client. The whole staff was responsive to my needs. My service dog, Gracyn, needs to have bilateral TPLO surgery on her knees. We did her first TPLO this AM, Dr Scott McDermott and Dr. Sean Morrison were both very patient with all my questions as well as explaining in detail the procedure and rehab. I feel very blessed to have found this clinic and the wonderful Doctors and staff.
Dr. McDermott is an amazing doctor. The staff is so kind and caring. Thank you for taking care of all our fur babies! Many blessings
Always caring, attentive, and alert. Even when Im panicking, they put me at ease while they tend to my animals. My animals are calm going to Weems Road Animal Hospital because they are treated with compassion, quickly.
Love the here! They saved our baby and loved on him. He was so excited to go back and visit the staff.
If I could give Weems Rd animal hospital 100 stars I would. I have lived in Columbus 3 different times (military) and I have used this office every time I have lived here. I have gone to them for everything from regular care to major surgery. Every time they did an outstanding job. My pup once ate poisons mushrooms and I didn’t think she would make it. Dr McDermott treated her and she was back to 100%. My kitty had a broken femur and had to have her leg amputated. Dr Mcdermott kept me informed about her surgery and now my three legged kitty is getting around like she doesn’t even miss her leg. I recently had to make the hardest decision to help my senior pup cross over the rainbow bridge and Dr Mcdermott and his staff were so caring and gentle during this extremely hard time. They exceed my expectations every time. I can’t say thank you enough to this outstanding team.
They are awesome. Its never a problem getting our dogs in. Even for emergencies.
Absolutely wonderful staff and Dr McDermott is excellent. They are always very professional and treat my dogs with caring and warmthSpecial group of people.
They are wonderful! They are quick, knowledgeable, and loving, and they are always accommodating if there is an emergency during their office hours.
Wonderful care for my old pup, Butterbean! It feels so good to know that your baby is getting the Best care ever! Thank you!
We love the vets and staff at Weems Rd. The staff were willing to work during their lunch to help my cat after having a seizure. They went above and beyond with their care.
Dr.McDermott is a very knowledgeable and competent veterinarian . Here they spend the time with customers and patientsThey explain what their plan of action is thoroughly.,so you will understand how your pet will be treated. My wife and I are glad we have him. He toosk over the practice from Dr. Satterwhite and have been pleased with him ever since .I would highly recommend his services to anyone. My wife and I have special needs pets . He takes fantastic care of them. If your in need of a Vet please go see him. You will not be disappointedArthur ErwinColumbus resident
The staff is very caring and professional. We have been taking our pets to Weems Road Animal Hospital for years and have always received exceptional care.
Ive brought my dog here several times for routine vaccinations, etc., but only recently got to meet Dr. McDermott after poor Mo had a seizure. He was so professional and kind, patiently answering all my questions and explaining each step of the exam and the results of the blood test. Its obvious that Dr. McMermott really cares about his patients, and their human family members too.
Really poor customer service and as rude as can be.
The vet and staff at Weems Road Animal Hospital are kind and caring. I would not take my 4 dogs anywhere else.
Adopted new dog and they were kind, loving and thorough in checking her out for us.
The care is so thoroughly competent and compassionate that I travel 25 miles to bring my dogs for treatment.
Best vet Ive ever been to. Absolutely great service here!
The staff in Dr. McDermotts office is superb, but there is not a vet anywhere on this earth who holds a candle to Dr. McDermott. His kindness, numerous phone calls, understanding, and genuine love of all the animals he treats is astronomical and beyond compare. I have had many pets in my life and just as many vets, but until I met Dr. McDermott, I didnt know what true devotion and love of ones profession really was. You can see it in his eyes, his actions, his kindness, his words, and his 150% dedication to what he does day in and day out. The compassion in his eyes speaks volumes, and I feel extremely honored to have met him and to have him virtually direct Mollys care. He encourages me, gives me pep talks, and lets me know that he is available should I need his advice on absolutely anything.
We have brought our 2 shih tzus here for almost 2 years and have now started bringing our kitten. The staff is wonderful and Dr. McDermott is excellent. We have never had a problem scheduling an appointment for any of our animals. We will continue to bring our pets to Dr. McDermott as long as we are in driving distance.
Had a quick and easy visit! My baby Sissy, got excited and with potty everywhere and they went ahead and gave her a bath!
You took good care of Molly Murphy
