I don’t normally leave reviews but they are top notch! We took our dog to the urgent care first for OSU in Dublin and they were swift about getting her back and checked out. They had already started the process of getting her transferred to the main campus to be hospitalized. Dr. Finstad at the main campus was phenomenal!! They called us multiple times a day with updates on our baby girl, as well as spending time on the phone with me explaining everything from start to finish! She answered all my questions even ones that weren’t relevant to the situation. I highly recommend this team when your pet is in need! They are phenomenal!

I took my cat to OSU ER vet due to her seeming to be constipated for days and her hind legs not working well. I paid the $300 ER fee at around 10:30 am. Everyone had to wait outside. Finally the Vet called saying pretty much nothing.Bloodwork would be done. X-rays. I asked about her legs Vet said she is walking around her cage. After 4 hours Vet said she is fine and just follow up with regular Vet. Well my cat was NOT fine. I paid $745 at OSU ER and had my cat wait for 4 hours frightened in a cage for nothing. This Vet asked about getting an ultrasound done instead of X-rays. I said no. Turns out I Googled it and found out what was happening with my cat. I will not take my cat or dog to OSU ER. They are all about the money. My cat, thanks to me, is now back to her wonderful self.

Our dog was diagnosed with renal dysplasia and of course was experiencing her worst days and pain on a holiday weekend. OSU was able to get us in and was so kind to us and our dog during the difficult decision to put her down. We got to spend as much time as we wanted with her, they made her extremely comfortable and made sure we knew exactly what was happening. Thank you to all the staff we came in contact with that day-youre kindness meant a lot to us.

An ER hospital visit costs an arm and a leg, whether or not they fix your animals problem. To me it seemed as if they have a bunch of OSU vet students and residents running the show over there who don’t have the knowledge or experience to do so yet. Not trying to be rude or mean but that’s about how my experience went.

I had to take my dog Maia to OSU vet hospital for emergency surgery. I had previously went to my normal vet and they weren’t able to figure out what was going on with her. After her symptoms progressively worsened I knew that she needed to be seen right away. OSU got her in as soon as possible and took care of my dog better then any vet I’ve ever worked with! They called and kept updating us on her condition, how she was feeling, and even kept her for a few days just to ensure that she was back in the best health before returning her home. I am so grateful for all of the hard work that they did to make Maia better. Maia is as happy as can be and it’s all because of OSU. We can’t thank you enough for helping our little girl!

I was more than satisfied with their professionalism and communication when I (unfortunately) had to make use of their emergency room for my cat. It wasnt cheap - not that it was overpriced, just a service that would be expensive anywhere - but I was pleased with what they provided. As expected, they could perform any test, but I was also happy with the communication - updates multiple times a day, and then when I picked my cat up, I was sent home with multiple pages summarizing the tests, his issues, and the course of treatment. For such a large institution, they do a great job of taking care of their patients and the patients owners.

I have a girl dog who was in labor and at 9:30 she stopped pushing as much and having a hard time. I knew she was not able to have the puppies. They said they will not do a c section unless the puppies and mom was in distress and it cost 250.00 for every test to see if the puppies was. What a joke. The so called Dr said we will wait 2 hours to see if she has them and she didnt so I called again and then thats when she told me they have to be in distress. Well thankfully I found a vet that did the check and said she needed a c-section. She had one big puppy and she would had never had it on her own. Mom and puppy are doing good. No thanks to these uncaring people. She wait 6 hours in the parking lot waiting on OSU to do something.

Well first of all let me say that the result was not what I was hoping but to no fault of the center. I will spare the details but the center was quick to act and give us the options/prognosis. They were straightforward and professional but they also displayed their sympathy and made a very unfortunate experience bearable. The only complaint I will give is for animals being euthanized, I feel that the best billing option would be to send a bill in the mail. It was a little off putting to have someone and have to take payment before we put our beautiful girl to rest. However, that is how business runs.

I had to bring in my cat on the 4th of July & all the staff was so kind, helpful, & understanding. One of the best veterinary experiences Ive ever had. I help run a rescue and we rushed 4 hours from Conneaut OH to Columbus OH to see the specialists at OSUVH for a kitten. The kitten had been hit by a car and wasnt well. We wanted a second opinion. Unfortunately we had to put the kitten to sleep. However, we were given several options. The kitten would have lived a life of pain if mended and kept alive. We did the humane thing for the baby. The hospital knew we were coming. As soon as we arrived into the ER section they called for help stat. Vets and technicians literally came running from the back to get this kitten. They truly care! They explained everything to us fully. When it was time to help the kitten pass in peace the vet was amazing. She was beyond gentle. She spoke quietly to insure the kitten wouldnt be startled. It was rough on us, but they were just so caring. We will definitely use the vets again for our rescue kitties if needed! We would make that drive all over again..RIP Chili Boy! 🌶

Amazing facility here. We had brought our dog in after a recommendation from our primary vet to get his bulging eye looked out. We shortly found out later that it was a malignant, and very active tumor behind his eye. They quickly jumped into action making a treatment plan. Within a week we were with the integrated oncology team and they had performed his surgery and removed most of the tumor (along with his eye) from the affected area. Afterwards we continued work to make sure we were taking all the correct steps to get it as gone as we possibly could. We had a plan for radiation treatment as chemotherapy so that we knew what we would be facing. They were always upfront about all costs and risks and it was a huge plus that all final costs came in at well under the expected amounts. We also found out that we qualified for a grant for his radiation therapy which really helped make it affordable. I firmly believe that if it werent for this establishment, this hugely important member of our family would not be here today. For that, I will never be able to fully express my gratitude. Thanks everyone there so much for everything.

Our dog was having some issues going up stairs and we thought it was from his previous knee surgery until one morning he couldn’t even walk or stand up without screaming in pain. We took him here at 6pm and left at 11:15. $300 later, they gave him pain medication (not even enough to last the duration of their recommended cage plan) and told us they think he has Intervertebral Disk Disease and to keep him in his crate for 4-6 weeks and if that doesn’t fix him, then call and they’ll refer us to neurology. They did blood work to check his liver to make sure he could tolerate the pain medication and that’s it. He literally can’t even stand up but they did no further testing, no X-rays, radiographs; didn’t explain how we should care for him, how to help him use the bathroom, how to carry him or move him around. Nothing. Just pain meds and lock him in a crate for over a month? I understand the reason for the bed rest but for an emergency visit, not receiving any information on the disease they diagnosed him with or how to care for him when he’s not practically paralyzed and waiting 5 hours just for pain meds, kind of ridiculous. Mind you, we waited in the emergency drop off lane for 45 minutes AFTER we paid and they called and told us he was ready to leave. We just sat there for nearly an hour just for them to bring him out to us. Thank god for YouTube because otherwise, we would have been screwed. The only reason I put 3 stars is because when we dropped him off, they told us they wouldn’t even seen him for under $300 (just for the visit) but we ended up paying just a little under that amount including the meds.*edit* moving to 1 star. This is crazy. I just waited on hold to speak to someone about how tf I’m supposed to help my dog use the bathroom who can’t even stand up without screaming in pain! I feel like this is a pretty important bit of information needed to send a family home with when he leaves your hospital unable to walk or stand. I was on hold for almost an hour and within a couple of seconds of finally getting to talk to someone, the phone disconnected!!

I drove 3 hours from northern Ohio because of hearing many positive things about OSU’s specialist services. My dog had a mass that I was worried about, and I came to see the soft tissue specialists here. Let me say that everyone that I’ve dealt with has been Amazing! Bryan the senior vet student was just great- both he and the resident, Dr Pogue, who took our case spent lots of time with me discussing options and possibilities and I felt very comfortable asking questions and talking about possibilities and outcomes. I did not feel rushed whatsoever and they made sure multiple times that I understood everything and had a chance to ask questions. I did not feel like ‘just another case’ I felt as though everyone was generally caring for my feelings and the well-being of my dog.I was exceptionally impressed when Bryan first came in the room, my dog (who is quite large) was very nervous and displayed some defensive behaviors. Instead of immediately muzzling him like most would be inclined to do, Bryan came in and sat passively across the room from us and allowed my dog to sniff and investigate him. As soon as the pup was sure that Bryan wasn’t a threat, they became best friends, and my dog allowed an exam with vigorous tail wags.I ended up having to leave my dog overnight for a procedure, and the Dr called me again, discussed the plan of care, and again made sure I had no questions. I couldn’t stay in the waiting room due to COVID- but she even told me I could come back in and say goodnight to him before I made the trek home and had to leave him for the night, which honestly meant the world to me. I was nervous about the whole thing, and she even promised to send me a photo of my dog ‘relaxing in his overnight accommodations’ at bedtime 😊 love that. I feel as though these folks are treating my dog as if he were their own, and I couldn’t ask for anything better. Now I head home feeling positively that my dog is in the best hands, and that gives a little peace to and anxious dog momma who only wants the best for her fur baby.

AS A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY. Take your fur baby to a place that has compassion, is honest, and upholds ethical principles. Their lack of communication within their own facility and specialties are embarrassing. Their orthopedic team is a joke and always uses the excuse of being busy for not being attentive. Also, their doctors hide behind the walls as if their patients are human and have covid-19, instead send the residents and students out!!!!! A resident (Dr Zann) flat out lied on my dog’s discharge paper stating I refused x-rays because I had to leave for another appointment, when in reality they could not sedate my dog well enough to take good pictures and would not sedate him again because he has a heart murmur and needed clearance from a cardiologist. Yes I had to leave to get to my vet’s appt after being there for 5 hrs, you made me wait 1 hour in the room after xray was completed; I wanted to at least make sure my dog was ok because no one reassured me after xray, the front desk kept saying they are having a busy day, emergencies, etc. They also will not release your pet until you pay in full. Yea, this facility will take your money and will not give you results. Also disappointed with Dr Dice, ortho, as he did a consult on my dog during cardiology procedures when he was sedated but failed to order xrays per Dr Jones instructions knowing that this dog is at cardiac risk going into every sedation, I called and requested to speak to him and he would not speak to me because technically this was a cardiology appointment!!!!UPDATE:Do not take your dog to Dr Clark the cardiologist, seems very inexperienced and non-cooperative, just passing the buck to my own vet, when he told me in first place to call him if my dog’s cough gets worse after stopping all his heart medications; when called back to in fact notify him of his cough worsening, he said just take him to his vet for chest xray as they are booked for next 2 months, even though they still owed me a free xray as they could not get a good ortho xray on my pet in previous visit. Dr Clark refused to order it. This place is a Joke and so money focused, instead of providing quality safe care. If something happens to my dog I will come after you.

This is up-front, and then you pay an additional $100 deposit toward additional services. So, $300 minimum. But, this is an emergency and a hospital. Not bad, I think.

We are so grateful for OSU Vet hospital. We were here 3 times in a week trying to figure out what was wrong with our puppy, but every step along the way they were caring and attentive. The front desk as well as the doctors were so kind and answered every question. We had an emergency situation and each time our puppy was taken care of immediately and in great hands. They also called daily with updates, continuing to answer questions and were respectful. When you go to a place like this you expect to pay extra money, and you get what you pay for. They also communicate every single thing before proceeding so you are not blindsided by any costs. Thank you so much OSU, especially Dr. Thyen and Dr. Alva ❤️

I called at 10pm to seek help for my cat who was sick...the vet tech I spoke with got accusatory with me implying that since it was 10 pm at night why was i now reaching out...well cats are notorious for hiding their illness and thats something that should have been taught!!! And I knew better than using anything from OSU since they nearly killed me 30 years ago. Oh and if you dont sound or smell of money you arent worth OSU medical time....IMO CLEVELAND CLINIC IS WAAAY BETTER

I dont often give anything/anyone a perfect rating. But it was hard to find any way our visit to the OSU Veterinary Hospital could have been better (within their control). There was a slight wait beyond our appointment time, but that was purely based on the number of emergent visits they were having that morning. The staff was professional, courteous, and kind. They had our dog and our personal best interest at heart. We came away with a treatment plan, all of the necessary prescriptions, and a follow up assessment scheduled. I would highly recommend the OSU Veterinary Hospital if you have a need for your pet.

When I couldnt take my dog to his normal vet after hours I called OSU. They told me to bring him right up. They told me of the $300 charge over the phone. Which is what it would have cost at my normal vet for an emergency visit. The staff is giving me daily updates on his post-op.But they (OSU vet hospital) do a fantastic job. They will treat your animals large and small with the best care. OSU vet hospital, thank you for taking care of my little buddy. Im ready to have my Titus back home. But I know he is in good hands while he is there.

Waist of your time, they are horrible at scheduling and will tell you your surgery is one day, send you emails, and then tell you something totally different just prior to your appointment or in our case surgery. Also we were informed that the doctor doing the procedure was newer and that this would be a first time experience for them and would be over seen by a seasoned doctor. This is quite opposite as to what we were told in the beginning. We were to have a doctor handle this surgery who had the experience with a prior case. They say it’s still safe there over looking the student learning on your pet... if that’s the case it should be free. If I am paying for the most experienced professionals to work on my pet, I want the best. Do your home work and find a vet that has been in the field for years with the specific expertise you are seeking. In our specific experience with The Ohio State Vet. We were very disappointed. To anyone else who comes here, do all your homework ahead of time, ask as many questions as possible, and don’t be fooled by the name and fancy building. As a side note Dr. Sandra Diaz and Debb of the soft tissue department were outstanding and they gave us grate confidence in this facility to begin with. However when meeting with the younger vet/doctor prior to surgery all confidence was lost, this individual clearly did not have the knowledge and experience to be handling our case. Very big let down and waste of time and money not to mention the added stress to our pet.

Unfortunately I am unable to really review based on quality of services provided. We came here with an exotic (hedgehog) asking for euthanasia due to complications from cancer. I understand that they do not treat exotics which is fine. My issue is that the customer service at the front desk (11:30pm on 11/21/2019) kept interrupting my wife every-time she tried to explain anything or ask questions. There is no need for rudeness, especially to someone who is already grieving. I would have been just fine with a Sorry we dont do that, can you try but we didnt. Instead we got a very rude person who refused to listen to 3 words without interrupting. That being said, if you have an exotic and are in need please go to MedVet Hilliard. They are able to handle the care and was able to help us end the suffering of our beloved pet.

The care and compassion my doggo and I experienced here were exemplary. The veterinarian was direct and forthright about what tests were recommended, which were most needed and how much each step would likely cost. We are about 2½ hours out of town and the staff made the trip as smooth as possible by including local info, places to go and stay and about how long to expect to wait. Its a tough situation not knowing whats wrong and having to take my girl out of town for treatment, but Im so glad our vet suggested OSU. They make a tough situation as smooth as possible. Thank you!!

Don’t take you animals here if you can help it.I was lied to about recovery times and care for my dog. I also was rushed out of the waiting room left to figure things out in my own. When it came to payment they didn’t know how care credit worked, or what the programs they offered were. They over charge for medication as well.Right now I am sitting in the parking lot waiting on my dog which I was told would be out an hour ago, but here I sit and wait. The dr called me and told me it would be $550 for medication which I can get for half that through my vet.I have given this place $4,000 to get surgery for my dog which I think is a lot of money, and all this place cares about is sucking every cent it can out of you and pushing you out the door so they can get the next victim.Piss poor

This site has seriously concerning communication issues and I wouldnt recommend anyone to bring their pet here. They told us they would call us with an update/plan when they were done triaging out pet, but they never called. We called every hour for an update and they kept brushing us off until we demanded our pet be looked at. It took them 3 hours to even look at our pet and give us options of what to do for her, and it was only after we insisted we not be left waiting anymore for her to even be looked at for a plan to be made of what care she needed. The nurse who triaged our pet also passed along wrong information to the doctor about our pets issues. The doctor told us that the nurse told him that our pet was hiding which was not her issue at all and nothing I ever said to them. We needed to give the whole history again after 3 hours of her already being there because it was incorrect when they first took her- ridiculous. They were completely unapologetic about the whole situation and clearly didnt care at all.

The staff here are excellent. My dog was seen immediately, and assessed for emergency care. I highly recommend if you are bringing your animal in, CALL before you go. Theyll make sure someone is immediately ready to see you, and take care of you and your buddy. The wait time was long, but they took excellent care of my dog. The emergency fee is high, but the actual veterinary care outside of that is relatively affordable.

I called them after hours because I was clipping my dogs nails and cut her too short, which caused bleeding. I was not able to stop the bleeding so I called to get some advice. The only thing that they were willing to talk to me about was that it would be $300 up front to even speak to us. They refused to help me in any way. The girl rudely stated they could not give any medical advice over the phone. I then called MedVet in Hilliard. They told me exactly what to do. I ended up having to drive her to there because we could not get the bleeding to stop. At Medvet the Vet herself came out to my car with some KWIK STOP powder and gaze. She instructed me what to d and stated she was trying to save us the $167 it would cost to bring her in for something simple like a nail. I am so disappointed in the treatment I received from OSU. All they cared about was the money. DO not even waste your time with them.

This is insane my pet has an medical need and for her to just be seen is $300! $200 dollars for the exam $100 for medical treatment told by the receptionist. Spaying would be free.I commented on the price and then she hung up the phone. And Id be notified of any further charges. I cannot believe that the facility such as this while in the state of emergency is able to price gouge treatment for an animals.

Found a kitten that was actively dying they let me surrender the kitten as a good Samaritan but my wife who was distressed over the kitten asked what they did with it and the lady was extremely rude with her. The lady stated since we were giving it up we dont get to receive that information. I hope we saved this kittens life but it would of been really helpful to put my wifes mind at ease. It was unnecessarily rude especially towards someone who was completely in shambles. Honestly it should of been common information and it worries me that it was such a secret.

HUGE facility! Be sure to immediately put your parking pass on your car after you check in inside. CampusParc is relentless and heartless. Huge clean facility. Good for dogs and cats. I giggled at the large animal / farm animal garage door entrance, but that totally makes sense that that is the kind of door they need there. Staff is friendly and understanding. A little less pleased with some surgery on my partners cat. There was a tooth that was supposed to be extracted but wasnt. But otherwise, the vets there all seem to be really helpful.

So happy with my experience there! I came in for an emergency for my dog and they knew what they were doing. I would like to thank all the students, doctors, and other staff members that took care and loved Bilbo during his stay. I also appreciated the daily calls telling us how Bilbo was doing. They do very well on explaining everything and making sure that we knew what to do with my dog when we got home. I am so happy to have my dog home safe and healthy all thanks to the staff here. Bilbo would also like to thank them for all the pill pockets he got! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a vet or for an emergency.

They are absolutely amazing! They have saved 2 of my animals and diagnosed another with a non life threatening disease! They are so attentive, kind, informative and I wouldnt go anywhere else. I live in Cincinnati and I make the drive gladly for whatever the issue is. My dog Twix started having seizures in August and when I brought him up for a consult after getting him stable at a local emergency hospital that I was not happy with. As soon as they saw him and saw that he was having focal seizures which the other place told me was under control they literally ran to get someone to help get him immediately admitted and under constant observation. There just arent enough words of praise I can give to the doctors and med students and all the staff! If you can please go here!

Be prepared to spend a few hours. This is not your normal vet visit.
