I recently started bringing my dog here and my experience was amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was so nervous with not being able to be in the room with my dog due to COVID but the friendliness of the staff left me with no doubt that she was in great hands. The doctor checked my dog out and spoke with me on the phone for 10 minutes providing me with great information. My previous experiences with other vets have not been so great and this was a completely different experience. Very happy I decided to change vets.

10 stars would not be enough. Over the years, I think my dog, Maizey, has seen every Doctor at BVH. We have been through stitches, check ups, vaccinations, boarding, illnesses, and cancer surgery. The entire staff, beginning at the front desk, has always been fantastic. They saved her leg when it may have not seemed possible. A year later, she is still going strong. I had researched the cost of cancer treatment and was surprised by how low their quote was. I was even more amazed when my final bill was about 75% of the original quote. This facility saved my best friend.

I had to have my cat (18 years old, loved people, lived a pretty good house cat life) euthanized a few weeks ago. I really appreciate the compassionate way they handled this, including immediately taking us back to the room, affirming my decision, presenting options for disposal including the most frugal one, and getting it all over with quickly. The vet personally wrote me a condolence card which I really appreciate. I dont know if or when Ill have another pet, but I would surely take it to Beechwold Vet.

If you want a caring and calm vet for your cat, ask for Dr. Stewart. He was extremely comforting and sincere when we had to put our 17 year old girl to sleep, and is wonderful with our other guy as well. He is honest, and does not push for extra, unnecessary things. He will be our go to for as long as he is practicing.

Definitely top-notch care from any doctor. And thats why we have been bringing are dogs here since 1974. Truly the best.

The cdcs guidelines for all this curbside pickup made sense 6 months ago but now its ridiculous no one that works in the facility and no one dropping off their patients are any more at risk than going to Kroger Walmart I can go to my doctor and I not ask to sit out in the parking lot if theres a way this can be overrode I would do it and if there isnt as soon as the guidelines change I would change with it because quite honestly it seems that puts the needs of the facilities entirely ahead the needs of the customers if I take my kid to the pediatrician Im not meant to sit in the parking lot while some stranger comes and gets my child and takes him into a building well most people dont like their dog being taken from them and taking into a building and not being there with them its treating animals like theyre less than seems ironic coming from veterinary facilities

Dr. Elena Swayze and Bri (vet tech) are the best with my cats! They are both kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and patient with my cats and I. Dr. Swayze calls very quickly with blood test results and goes over them in depth with you. Dr. Swayze and Bri are a wonderful team! The administrative staff is also wonderful! I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for the best care for their furry companions.

I drive from Grove City to take Nori & Luna to Dr. Honerkamp. Weve been coming to Beechwold for 10 years & wont be going anywhere else for a long time!

Dr. Thomas is wonderful. She is very kind and thorough, and seems to really care about my pets. She always takes the time to explain medications and readily answers any questions or concerns. Her tech is also great, and is always helpful and friendly. I did 4 stars because some of the front desk workers arent as friendly, and also the price of annual exams at $50 is higher than our previous vet.

I have been bringing my dog there since I adopted her 3 years ago. Overall I like this clinic. My most recent experience taught me to request the Veterinarian that I prefer. I arrived early for our appointment, waited 40 minutes after the scheduled time and overheard the Veterinarian speaking about me in a derogatory manner. I wasnt able to bring my dog in for her monthly shot as I routinely do and she developed an ear infection, I assume from allergies. They did it to themselves, it has been 2 months since they were here is the comment I overheard. I felt judged and convicted of neglect. The shot my dog receives is approximately$90/shot. I gladly pay this for my dog. I will return to Beechwold however I will be selective about Veterinarians that see her. I work in the medical field and take pride in honoring the worth and dignity of each person. Sometimes that means keeping my opinions to myself and venting any feelings I may have at a time and place where I am not likely to be overheard.April 22,2019I want to thank the Administration of Beechwold Veterinary for the response to my previous review. I agree that there may have been a miscommunication. I have been very pleased with the service that I receive and the kindness shown to me and my dog. A BIT ON THE PRICEY SIDE BUT EXCELLENT SERVICE AND CARE FOR OUR DOGS - I love this place. The vets are caring and experienced and the staff is always friendly. I always walk out feeling that my dog received excellent care. Weve also boarded our dogs here a few times and they offer a discount for multiple dogs (provided they share a kennel). My parents have also been taking their dogs here for years and have nothing but good things to say.

Our family has been using Beechwold Vet Hospital since 1987 at least. Always professional, always empathetic and genuinely engaged with all of our pets. Appointments are easy to schedule, and the Dr.s are always on time-- if not early for the appointments. Great staff and location!

Made an appointment for my sick dog, got the time confused and showed up 15 minutes late. They wouldnt see me and only could reschedule for another day. Policies are a little too rigid for my taste.

We see Dr. Curtis for our two cats and we love him. He is easily our favorite vet. Weve moved a few times around Columbus in the last 2.5 years and we are about 25 minutes away from them but its worth it. They are great in animal care and he always listens to our concerns and takes them very seriously. Id give them more than 5 stars if I could.

I see that you already have a lot of great reviews, but I just wanted to share that I have had a great experience every time I have been here. My cat has asthma, so our visits have been far too frequent over the last year and a half. Every member of the staff has been friendly. It is easy to schedule and the hours are convenient. They do not push unnecessary tests, treatments or products. Dr. Curtis is incredibly kind and I always leave with peace of mind, which has not been my experience at other offices. I have had a traumatic experience with a previous cat after a vet procedure, so I came in the first time very hesitant and asking every single question I could think of. The doctor was compassionate, understanding, patient and thorough. I am admittedly biased about how special my cats are, but the staff here seems to agree with me and treat them wonderfully. Now if only I could find a doctor I like this much that treats humans!

Beechwold Veterinary Hospital is hands down the best vet I have ever been to. Dr. Mark is such a compassionate, understanding, reasonable vet, who literally saved my dogs life. I have also never met a rude employee, all of the staff is pleasant and friendly. I cannot say enough how wonderful this place is.

We take our cats to see Dr. Curtis, and hes been fantastic. You can tell he cares about animals and their well-being; he spent time talking to our cat before examining her to help her calm down. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the reception staff are always friendly.

I think Beechwold Veterinary Hospital is the best. Dr French is excellent with my dog. I have seen some of the other doctor at the hospital and all of them are very good. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any dog parent.

I came in with a very sick kitten and was seen promptly without an appointment. The staff was very compassionate and professional. Dr. Yaissle even came in for a follow up exam on her day off and provided additional medication at no additional cost.

Winston has had a rough life lately: mauled by a coyote and got all better from that trauma. Now, a year later, he has something that may cause his demise. He spent 3 days at OSU emergency vet hospital and spends his days, now, with the wonderful Doctor Nicole at Beechwold vet hospital. He comes home at night. We cannot find the cause of his ailment but it not for lack of trying. These vet doctors and the staff from both OSU and Beechwold are heroes to those who love their animals. Thank you no matter what the result may be in Winstons case. (Thanks, too, to Dr. Stewart at Beechwold who saw Winston first and directed us to OSU Emergency Hospital.)Now it is the last day of July 2020 and Bella, our Yorkie, has just had 17 teeth pulled in an operation by Dr. Nicole. This doctor is the most dedicated person I have ever met in any medical field. Bella has pulled through this latest assault on her mouth, but it was dangerous. Thanks to Dr. Nicole and the entire staff of caring people at the great Beechwold Veterinary Hospital. Another five stars to you all.

Beechwold has been my vet practice since 1991. Through the lives of 9 cats, from kittenhood to old age, they have been a source of strength, assurance and comfort to me. Without reservation, I recommend them because of their delivery of clinical excellence with personal care. Each member of the staff is a blessing.

I scheduled an appointment and admittedly was 10 minutes late.The vet was not cooperative in trying to get my dog in for a basic check up. The excuse was that after 10 minutes they have to move onto the next appointment.I explained that every time I come there that Im waiting 10 to 15 minutes and that affects my schedule, they took me that they did not care about my schedule. It Also makes appointments just a formality if the vet is not going to keep to them.This and the fact that they are expensive finally pushed me to going elsewhere.I DO NOT recommend Beechwood Veterinary.

Ive been taking my dogs (7 over the years, plus a cat or two) to Beechwold Vet since 1965, when Dr. Bruce Wenger was there. Later we saw his son, Dr. Steve. Since he passed, we must have seen every vet in the practice many times. All have been caring and very competent. Really, I couldnt ask for moreId recommend them in the highest terms.

What an amazing group of people. Dr Stewart and the technicians who cared for us are so professional. My wife and I recently had end of life concerns with our long loved dog. I have a dog and a cat. Theyve both been cared for by BVH all their lives. Ive worked with a few of the vets, most recently Dr. Stewart, for a dental cleaning. All the staff are wonderful. My only wish would be a more holistic approach to animal health, which I am now learning about more and more.

I have a potentially pregnant dog who needs a reproduction vet and because I missed one appointment and the second appointment I assumed was cancelled because one of the 4 receptionists told me they wouldn’t be able to see her because she needs an update on her rabies I assumed that the appointment was cancelled at that point. Nope. So I missed 2 appointments and after they stated if I wanted to use them as a vet I had to pay upfront well when I tried to set that up I was told that the vets are unwilling to see her because of a misunderstanding. I own Bulldogs, bulldogs require a c section to have a successful and safe birth. The fact that their doctors didn’t feel that it was important to see the animals Safety over anything is disgusting. I now will have to drive my dog an hour and half to a reputable reproduction vet and back post surgery plus newborn puppies. As if that’s not a risk to their lives in itself. Clearly it’s all about the money and their time than it is an animals safety. I heard amazing things about beechwold but after this I’ll never recommend them to anyone. Ever.

Well...communication is not their thing. They never respond to messages sent via their website and even when you ask people on the phone the info you get doesnt necessarily carry from day to day. Make sure you call the DAY OF whatever you need done to make sure they havent given you misinformation. Or else youll end up like me. Driving all the way there based on information they gave you previously that isnt correct.Frustrating.

Ive been using Beechwold Vet for over 30 years with my dogs. Not one complaint!

Went here instead of going Knapp Veterinary on Oakland park even though it was farther from us. The same services for our cat are less expensive around 2009 and we have been going to them ever since, and the vets were nicer.

I had the worst experience at this vet. I stayed with them for a full year and had issues every visit. I adopted a shelter puppy and the first visit they never checked for worms, only for my puppy to get super sick a month later since he was so heavily affected. The next visit, they told me that he finished his puppy boosters. After checking the receipt a week later, I saw that they gave him the wrong shot and my puppy was not fully vaccinated. After talking to three different people, they finally admitted their mistake in giving my dog a Lepto vaccine instead of the DHPP vaccine. The finally straw was when my puppy was tested for Lymes disease and tested positive. The doctor said that she would not write a script until my puppy was showing more severe signs of lyme. Once he was showing signs a month later, the vet refused to write a script. It was the most horrifying experience ever- I definitely do not recommend this vet.

Ive been coming to Beechwald since 1987, and I have always been treated with respect and kindness. But sometimes there are certain staff that touch your heart with their genuineness. Mark McCloskey and Kelly are two such individuals. My dog is 15 1/2, and very arthritic. His vulnerability breaks my heart, but their adjectives of tough, strong, beautiful fill it back up. They have always gone above and beyond in their treatment, but as he gets closer to his exit, theyve raised it up a notch.

Updated: better get a quote in writing! I called to schedule a csection and was quoted 700 plus an office call for an examination. Scheduled the csection and went to pay and was charged 1145! They quoted literally nothing more than the csection, no anesthesia or IF fluid, etc. Was quoted. What clinipc does that?! When you call asking the price of a surgery, you dont want a half truth. I could not be more disappointed in how my business was handled. I am changing my review from a 1* to a 4* to reflect that Beechwoldhas contacted me and given an apology and are refunding part of the difference between the quote and the actual bill. This situation hasnt been a pleasant one but it speaks a lot about a business that is willing to correct a mistake

I took my 7 year old cat in twice to address a skin condition that had cropped up. My cat was constantly chewing and licking a hot-spot until it was bald and raw.The wait time was very long before they saw my cat, even after showing up on time for the appointment. I waited 15 minutes in the lobby, and several minutes in the examination room before the vet tech. came to check the vitals. The tech. was very friendly and obviously liked to work with animals. Very patient with my annoyed kitty.However, the doctor that saw him seemed to be indifferent to my questions on whether it was an allergic reaction to something. He did do a flea check, and came up empty. Otherwise, he suggested a cortisone shot and that was it. No blood tests nor discussion about allergies. He seemed to be in a hurry. The cortisone shot worked fine for about a month, then the symptoms returned.Our second visit a different doctor saw the cat. She did listen to my concerns about allergies, but only after speaking with my wife who is knowledgeable with pet foods. She did not recommend a blood-test. After examining him, we decided together that we could try a limited ingredient cat food to see if it was food allergies.The only food they had was Royal Canin. Read reviews online on how awful this food is. The cat refused to eat it. After two days of the cat not eating, we decided to buy a limited ingredient cat food from a local pet store. He dug right in after we offered it to him. Luckily this vet accepts food returns. It was $60.00 for a 8lb bag (I believe). Not good.We eventually took the cat to a different vet, who did perform blood tests. The other vet did not want to use cortisone, as it can cause damage if used too often. We worked on some feeding trials and was able to determine the ingredient that caused the reaction after a month. Our cat is fine now with no issues.

We have been going to Beechwold for almost 40 years. I have worked with many of the vets on staff and they are all excellent. The two stars are for the backroom staff that made it impossible for me to coordinate working on my cats claws with a call ahead unrealistic requirement. The last time i went in i waited for an hour and the tech came out and said.they couldnt do the nails. After I insisted, the nails were done. This time they again had a problem working on the nails and I had a total meltdown. They were particularly harsh to a customer when they said weve talked to you before about this. Bad Situation.________I was upset when I walked into the door with my kitty and bichon. My little bichon was so ill. Instead of the back office coming out and asking how they could help me with my kitty, they acted as if I had broken rules. A tech offered to do the nails herself but only made me wonder why a tech couldnt have done it the last three times I came in.It would it have gone so far if I had a one on one instead of a total rejection. I was totally wrong showing my stress level. Dr. W came in and was angry at me instead of helping me through this situation. He refused to examine my little bichon. After being refused treatment we left. Our emergency vet diagnoised that she was so sick from the Apoquel she had been prescribed.Finally, in all my time Ive never had any dispute at your office. The treatment my animals have received and the times the vets have saved my animals lives have made me change my rating. I was so stressed and was wrong to rate the vets on a dispute that spilled from the back office.Thanks to all the vets who have taken such good care over so many years.

We have a 2 1/2 year old English Bulldog. Dr. Weisgerber has been her vet and he has done a wonderful job of taking care of her as well as explaining and educating us on how best to care for Ally.Recently Ally started limping, when I called in, they said that Dr. Weisgerber was not available but to bring her in right away to see Dr. McClosky.Dr. McClosky was very kind and was very detailed in his explanation of the situation. He also recommended a follow up with Dr. Nicol who specializes in the knee.Just a few days later we met with Dr. Nicol - dont let her profile on their website fool you, she has over 30 years experience and is an amazing Doctor!!!Just two days later little Ally had knee surgery with Dr. Nicol. Again, pre and post op discussions were very clear, concise and very helpful.Ally spent the night and Dr. Nicol encouraged us to come see Ally, we did twice that day (right after surgery and before she spent the night).The next day Dr. Nicol was off so Dr. Schwab contacted us by phone to give us the update and to see if we had any questions.The reason I mention each of the doctors is that the complete event was seamless and every step of the way we felt completely informed and most important, we felt Ally was getting GREAT care and attention.Everyone at Beechwold Veterinary Hospital has been very professional, from the front desk to the techs to everyone of the doctors.Very much enjoy this group and will always bring our pets to them.

We are overall very happy with this vet. They are not necessarily much into holistic medicine, but theyre open minded enough to let you try some of that if you want. I had to figure out and make adjustments for my dogs allergies myself - these guys are more quick to prescribe something than try something natural first. We love Drs. French and Weisgerber - they are our favorites. Dr. French has helped us a lot with our cats. Dr. Mark is great, too, but a more quiet person. We only go to these three. Dr. Schwab is very nice and great with cats but tried to talk us into more treatment than we were willing to do with our ailing older cat. Dr. Honerkamp is a good vet, but will lecture you about being a good pet parent and she can be tough. We have had no bad experiences there, but I just prefer the vets who are easiest to talk you and treat you like a partner in your pets care. All the assistants are great. The front desk staff is variable - a couple people are overworked and cranky, but others are nice. Overall, we like this place very much.
