September 14th 2021: Ive been going to this barbershop for the last 3 years with my son who is 5 years old now. Ms. Kim is the first barber to cut my sons hair, starting when he was just 3 years old. I used to go to her shop in Midland, Ga; and followed her to the new shop in Columbus, Ga. I have history with this barber and have been loyal for years, even when I noticed a decline in the quality of haircuts (I literally would have to touch up spots at home, and my wife has asked me numerous times to find a new barber given the subpar haircuts). I even tolerated her crazy talk. Today, I walked in and she immediately informed me that she didnt want my business anymore. She was very rude and unprofessional. This was completely unprovoked. My son was very upset. She gave no explanation. Ive read other reviews relating similar experiences at this shop, but couldnt reconcile them with my previous experiences. Now I understand. I would avoid this shop, especially if you are a minority and/or have children.

My Grandson and I stopped in, masked, for a back to school haircut. The owner yelled at us from the time we walked though the door. She had a customer so we took a seat to wait and she made us move twice. She started ranting about her politics and conspiracy theories. I was shocked and simply took my grandson by the hand and left the store.As we unlocked the car to leave she came out of the shop (leaving her customer) and disinfected the door handle!! She was horrible. It was my first and last time to enter the place. We got a great cut down the street at a place that we frequent! Our experience at Clean Cut was our worst experience in any business anywhere in the world and Im a traveler. This place is an embarrassment! Steer clear!!

I was a customer of the Clean Cut Barber Shop until today. I had been going there for several months and was pretty happy with the service.The little lady who runs the shop was nice and did a good job, the price was right, and I like to support local business. She did like to talk politics, not all of which I agreed with, but I’m okay with that.Today, while I was in the chair, she started talking conspiracy theories. I mean crazy stuff. She said that the government put a chip in the COVID vaccine so they could see if you coughed, that the vaccine was preparing us for the Mark of the Beast, that Bill Gates philanthropy actually disguised an attempt to reduce the world population, and of course that the election was stolen.Now, I’ve always thought that there are some people you shouldn’t argue with. Police officers and people cutting your hair top that list.Eventually, however, I had to say something. I was nice and polite but, after trying to change the subject, I started gently explaining that she believed lies and people were trying to scare her.Friends, she did not take it well.She escalated the situation and told me me that she didn’t know how a Christian could not believe her conspiracy theories (I am a church-going Christian). She asked me if I had a brain in my head and finally told me to stop talking. (She had done the majority of the talking to this point anyway.She did a reasonable job on the haircut, although my wife said she messed the back up. By that point, I was just ready to go.I paid and left her a generous tip and told her I would not be back. I think the feeling was mutual.As slow as her business has been during the pandemic, you’d think that she wouldn’t want to run off a long-term customer, but she didn’t seem to mind.She does an okay job cutting hair but she can be rude and unprofessional. If you need a cheap haircut and don’t mind some whacked-out conversation, go see her. Don’t forget to wear your tinfoil hat and your mask, but you’ll have to take both off in the chair.

This absolutley is the best place I have been too to get a hair cut. Ms. Kim is amazing shop is clean an safe she sanitizes an cleans after each customer. One of if not the best barbershop experience in town. I highly recommend this barbershop to everyone.

Bad manners. No greetings. No smile. Bad attitude. She wanted to move fast and yelled orders to customers. Bad customer service. My first time and last time. I’d never go back.

This woman that works there was completely rude and dismissive of me and my poor uncle. He has had a stroke and cannot speak so we were struggling to understand what he wanted done. He was not satisfied with her first cut so I asked her shave it and she kicked us out. He cried. He was so embarrassed. Will never be back. I don’t recommend giving your money to someone so insensitive.

Best Barbershop in Columbus. Kim, the owner, is a great barber who is very personable and offers customers excellent service at a great price point.

The owner is very nice and accommodating. Her shop is very clean. Her hair cuts are high-quality. This is also my 8-year old son’s favorite place to get his hair cut. I have tried every place in town, and this is my go-to for quality, price, and location.

She fixed a butchered haircut! She took her time to make sure we were happy customers. Very pleased with the friendliness and cleanliness of clean cut! Hard working woman, deserves a 5 for sure.

I went there today and it will be the first and last, I will never go back here. Do not to go there. Bad attitude, bad character, so unprofessional.The lady said, I will messed up your hair, if you dont give tip, so you dont come back! She judges you by the way you look, and she wasnt joking. What kind of customer service is that?There is something wrong with her and that place, no wonder I was the only one there the whole time.

Barber is friendly and experienced. She uses a vacuum attachment but no straight razor, still for only ten dollars it was good value.

Kim did a great job-- I was a first time customer-- She listened to want I wanted and gave me the cut I asked for and was very polite. I was impressed with her shop of how neat, clean, spacious and organized that it was. I will be a return customer. --- K. Smith

Not good place for hair cut. I will not recommend this place for any hair cut. There are lots of better place for hair cut in Columbus.

Kim said that my husband shouldnt bring me the next time he comes into her place of business as her white customers who walk in may leave when they see me. Its not the first time she has made references to my hijab... I thought at first she was just narrow minded.. but this.. just blew me away. I honestly have never been mistreated or told I cant come into a place of business because of my hijab (head scarf).

Great place to get hair cuts for men & boys. Service is excellent and cost less than most. If looking for simple haircut, this is the place… No appt needed.

Their behavior is high unacceptable due to a close family friend of ours that was denied service due to her hijab. It is 2019 people, and no one should be mistreated based on their appearance or religious beliefs. It’s disgusting that we have people like this that are so ignorant and are only hurting themselves.

Great place Clean and relaxing. My only thing is she does not use a razor or blade to go skin fade just the buzzers.

Recently, someone I know was mistreated simply because of her appearance and was asked not to return. This ignorant behavior is unacceptable. The owner seems to think that people of color or visibly different faiths are making her lose business, when in actuality, the owner’s behavior is the real cause.

Asking someone to not return to their place of business because of their choice to wear a hijab shows the true morals of the owner. This kind of racist and colorist behavior is unacceptable.

The owner’s racism is extremely unprofessional and disappointing...it is completely out of line for someone to request for a paying customer to not come based on their appearance.
