We had TrueSon come out to give a quote for repair to our decking vs. a complete redecking of our bottom deck. We were told it would take 7-10 days for a quote to be ready. Giving them the benefit, I assumed they meant business days so waited the full 2 weeks before contacting them again. I emailed and heard nothing. My husband called and there was no quote in the system for us but the office manager was going to contact the guy that came out and get our quote. Another week went by and nothing - husband called and same story. Another week goes by (by this time it’s been an entire month since they originally came out), husband calls, she said she is going to light a fire under him to get us our quote and that they want our business. 10:30pm that night I get a ridiculous quote for right under $20,000 with no measurements included and only for complete redecking of the bottom deck - nothing else that we discussed. This quote only included taking up the old boards and placing new, treated lumber on top of the existing substructure, leaving the existing railing, and not doing anything to fix the stairs that lead up to the top deck. We feel like we were thrown an outrageous number to just make us go away. Sad when TrueSon supposedly has such a great reputation...

We hired TrueSon to come replace some windows. While Josh D. was at our house looking at the windows, we asked about our porch railing and he pointed out that our porch posts were rotting out and needed to be replaced. Josh D. was great to work with on exploring options for the windows and the porch fix. The crew came out for the porch first and were very professional. They knocked it out in a couple of days and it was great looking. The windows were installed a bit later and the crew were again professional and easy to work with. Our windows look great.We are using them again to finish up a couple of other windows that we werent originally going to do and would use them again in the future. We would highly recommend TrueSon in the future. Josh D was great to work with and was responsive to our questions. The crews who came out to do the work were timely, communicated well, and did a fantastic job.

TrueSon Exteriors completely re-did our roof in 17 hours with crazy efficiency. The men moved what they needed moved and put everything back (including refilling the kiddie pool that had been dumped). They were exceptionally polite, told us when they would return on day 2, and left us with a beautiful roof on our house.

We are very happy to have our new covered porch and deck and the experience with TSE could not have been better. From the planning stage through completion all consideration was given to quality and owner satisfaction, including efficient/expedient schedules and low impact on existing house and yard.

TrueSon did a full exterior renovation of our home. They installed windows (and reconfigured them), siding, deck and roof, along with a few interior projects. It only took a couple of months and anything that wasn’t perfect (which wasn’t much) they responded to and fixed quickly. This was a huge project and after meeting Barry Roewe we didn’t even bother with getting other estimates. I would never go with another contractor and I’m fairly certain columbia doesn’t have another contractor with his reputation.

Nick and Pat replaced a battered utility room/garage door and added a much needed gutter down spout. The work was excellent. I had picked Trueson because of some previous work which they had done for us and for which I was very pleased. Nick had been the foreman on the last job and was reviewing how his work had stood up to the proceeding 2 years. He was very pleased, as was I except he did not like a couple of splits in the large natural solid cedar posts he had installed. Splits we knew would naturally occur as the cedar cured. He therefore set upon sealing them with some black NPR sealant and damn it looked good when it was done. These guys know what they are doing and we would certainly recommend them. John Clark

We ordered new windows for our whole house to be installed by TrueSon Exteriors. While it did take some time for the windows to come in, working with Nevada and the folks at TrueSon was very easy. They were very professional and knowledgeable, and worked with us to have our new trim delivered prior to the window installation so we could have it painted and ready. When it came time for the installation, Kyle was efficient and professional, taking only two days to install all of our windows. Everything looks great, and we are very happy with the finished product! Were currently working with TrueSon again to replace our exterior doors.

I cant say enough good things about True Son! This is the 4th time weve used them for various exterior projects over the years. Nevada and crew are exceptional to work with. For this latest project, they tore down, removed, and installed a new deck for us. We were told it would take 6 days but they were finished in less than 5. Each night they cleaned up the area, which we really appreciated, especially with curious dogs! If I had any questions, I either asked the crew or emailed Nevada and got answers right away. In the past when weve had a project, we always got several bids. At this point, we wont be doing that anymore but instead just call True Son. I had new windows and a new door put in early Fall 2017. TrueSon hired outside their business to do this for me. At first everything looked good. Then a piece got loose in my bedroom window, only after a couple of times opening it. Now, I just had my house power washed and almost every window AND the door leaked. I had my house power washed before with my crappy windows and this never happened and those windows were really, really bad. Seeing all these great reviews makes me wonder how I didnt get the same treatment as them?Update: Nevada at TruSon Called me instantly after my review and came to look at my windows. They were informative on window maintenance and proper power washing techniques. They are replacing the loose piece in my bedroom window. I very much appreciated their instant response and my honest opinion is you can tell that they care about doing the best job they can for you. I will absolutely use them in the future! We are very happy with the entire project. We had new siding and gutters installed along with a new deck and a gazebo. They did quality work and we love how the new changes transformed the look of our home. They were very friendly and wanted to make sure they did it the way we wanted it. I am a Realtor in Columbia and TrueSon has become my main roofing and exterior company. Their service and quality is second to none. My first introduction to Barry was at a large house that had wind damage and improperly installed shingles as well as some other roof issues that were not easily visible. My buyers inspector had found these items and the seller and their agent refused to fix them, claiming that the things the inspector found were not legitimate. We called TruesSon which was a neutral party for both sides and Barry came over within an hour and got up on the roof and inspected it. Without us telling him anything about the roof, he came up with an IDENTICAL list of issues to the home inspector. The sellers then realized that these things were in fact problems and my clients got their house with a new roof that was not falling apart. I now have one of Barrys main guys, Nevada, on speed dial and he is same caliber as Barry. I use them because they are honest and easy to work with and always available for jump up issues when I need them. As a side note, TrueSon has also remodeled a basement for one of my clients after they put a new roof on their house which many people dont realize they do. I had Pella windows installed. The decal on the TrueSon work trailer said Pella platinum certified installer. I was expecting a high quality installation to match the premium product. Process of working with Nevada went well till the actual installation. Installation crew did shoddy work till Nevada intervened. Foam sealing of back windows was repeated. Cladding of front box window was replaced. Final job looked good. Crew also laid removed window on front lawn which killed the grass. Two four by four foot patches done this way. Why have this irritation from a platinum installer? These guys may be great for decks as I read in other reviews but need more training on the details of window installation. Cigarette butts left around our home and smoke entered home while windows were out. Additional stress to project deciding whether to request no smoking to crew you want on your side to do quality work.

They removed damaged siding, replaced soggy insulation, installed new house wrap and replaced the siding with a better product!

These are all very helpful and good to work with. Crews were great and did top notch installation of our new siding. Would definitely recommend these people for home improvement projects.

We were recently referred to TrueSon exteriors by a moms group on facebook. They put a new deck on our house. They are fast, efficient and offered a fair price. They are a high quality company. In talking, I asked Nevada a question about our roof in the process. He immediately got his ladder and took photos of our roof. He told us we had a significant amount of hail damage and that we should contact our insurance company about it because water was getting into the attic. He came and met with our insurance adjuster at our home and they took care of all of the paperwork and contracts. We didnt have to do a thing and now we have a brand new roof also! They are wonderful and we would highly recommend them to anyone!

TrueSon, working with a crew from Beck Builders, just completed replacing the flooring, railings and adding 3 support posts to my deck. The cross support beams and other support posts were in good condition to continue using. The workmanship is outstanding while using good quality lumber (2x6 and 6x6 treated wood) and aluminum balusters. Railings (wood and aluminum balusters) and steps were built on-site, piece by piece (not pre-fab work) and look simple but functional. By using good quality materials and good craftsmanship, the deck is solid, sturdy and safe - a definite improvement over my old deck. Getting recommendations from Exterior Project Specialist Nevada Shelkey on his initial visit, the crew was able to incorporate many changes he suggested and I wanted which improved the functionality of the new deck. It took the crew about 3 days to complete the work. They were punctual when arriving to work, worked quickly but efficiently and were professional in answering questions I asked them. At the conclusion of the project, the crew cleaned up scrap wood, swept the area of lingering sawdust and moved their trailer of scrap materials that same day.This is the third project on my home TrueSon has completed for me. I have been very pleased with the results produced by TrueSon and their crews in each instance. Each crew has been professional, skilled and cordial during these projects. I have nothing but positive comments and praise for TrueSon Construction and I highly recommend them if anyone asks me. Ive had friends who have had similar experiences while using TrueSon and they too recommend TrueSon.

We were referred to TruSon by another contractor to explore replacing some windows. We received a prompt, fair estimate and the work was done equally promptly. Happy with their work, we contacted them again to replace a gable vent that had been chewed through by raccoons. Again, the installation was prompt and well done, and the price was fair. Today they repaired a chimney cap that was so poorly installed by someone else that it was leaking and damaging dry wall in my ceilings. They made a special effort to get the job done today because rain is in the forecast tomorrow. So, needless to say I am very happy with the work they have done for me.

TrueSon Exteriors and Barry’s team were Truely my Heroes. I had sold my previous home and had purchased a 6 year old home on the south side of town with the scheduled closings of both houses a day apart. My new home had been inspected by the previous owner’s inspectors so I didn’t expect any major problems. Surprised when Mark Kelsey (American Home Inspections) inspected my new home he noticed there was a moisture reading on the front dining room wall. The closings on both houses were only a few days away. My realtor Shannon O’Brien with House of Brokers had previous positive dealings with TrueSon so she recommended Barry immediately. TrueSon came out immediately and discovered the guttering on the house was installed incorrectly. They quickly corrected the guttering, and my handyman was to replace the damp sheet rock. After the sheetrock was removed, we realized there was more damage. Since I had to move that day TrueSons came quickly and arrived the same morning I started moving in. As TrueSon began to work they discovered the dampness entering the house for six years had led to more extensive damage than we thought. What a shock! My mother asked Barry’s manager “Has my daughter bought a lemon? He replied, “ Absolutely not she has nothing to worry about; this is a great house, and I promise we will make this house like new.” By noon I could actually see outside through a hole in the dining room wall. They had to remove part of the brick front and the outside wall, to replace studs, window trim, insulation, and even replace the house plate. What a team !!!As a single girl I needed reassurance from the TrueSon team my house would be fine. By evening they had my house sealed off for the night. They returned the next day to put my home back together. They were able to order and match the bricks on my home. They were determined to keep their promise making my home as good as new. When they were finished you couldn’t tell the house ever had a problem. It looked great, just like new, and was all cleaned up. Barry and his Trueson team were awesome; they turned what could have been a major stressful crisis in my life into a stress free move. I can’t thank them enough for their quick response to my crisis. I think Barry’s team could handle any project!!! They are absolutely the BEST!! Highly recommend them!! My heroes!!
