Went to this salon twice. Nice appearance and I was pleased with the work but I was charged $140 both times. The first time the lady talked me into full highlights with toner, cut and style. Second time I went in, I got a partial highlight with toner, cut and style. Tried to call about it but was just told that I got a deal the first time!! NEVER again!!

I came here for the first time in October for an all over color. I have tried a few different places in Columbia but never was satisfied. Emily did my color and I loved it. I have always had highlights and light brown hair color and I wanted to go darker. She talked me through what kind of color she would use and brought over swatches which made the decision easier. She was so fun to talk with and made it such an enjoyable experience. Being a college student, the price was very reasonable. I would 100% recommend this salon and especially Emily to anyone!

Had a formal style done by Madison. It was perfect!! I could not have been happier with the result. It stayed in place all night, which never happens for me. The whole place is honestly spectacular!!

We came to The Strand after my husband got a butchered hair cut at another franchise. Emily was horrified, as we were, and fixed him right up. and hes been a client ever since! A year later I started to see her as well!Emily has always been so easy to explain to what Im looking for in a hairstyle and she helps figure it out if I dont have it together. She also educates me in the coloring process and maintenance, which helps decide if I really want to go through with a color/style or not. :) The salon is always clean and everyone is always so nice! We love it!

Have you ever moved and tried to find a new stylist? I found Judy by pure luck May 2019 and feel like I have know her my entire life! She’s an amazingly creative stylist, always open to whatever I’m trying to achieve while gently steering me in the right direction for my hair and texture. I have seen Stefani twice now and she AMAZES me. I went in the first time in mid-September because my old stylist had done an all over color that was wayyyyy too dark for my liking. After getting a few quotes and being told by most stylists that it would take at least a few sessions to fix, Stefani brought be back to my natural color in ONE session. I just went back in this morning to lighten my hair a bit and she did EXACTLY what I was looking for. Also super friendly and kind! Couldn’t recommend her more!

Stephanie does an amazing job on color, cut, and style every time! I’ve seen a lot of colorists and stylists over the years—all over the U.S., she’s one of the best! From blonde to red.....just wow! And I naturally have dark hair, thick hair! I’ve been going to her for a few years now.

I called the Strand to make an appointment for a Brazilian wax for my first time. The lady I spoke with was nice and easy to talk with. When I arrived the place was clean, bright, and they had a wide selection of products. The two receptionists welcomed me and answered any questions I had. The Strand are on top of covid regulations, such as wearing masks, asking customers to use hand sanitizer etc.When it was time for my appointment, the esthetician was very nice and cheerful. I let her know it was my first time. She walked me through each process and products and explained what it was for. We used a soft wax since that is what they use. She made the process quick and easy, such as telling me to take a deep breath in and out.Although, I’m not sure if the waxing itself was good. When she left, I was suppose to put a lotion on. I could still feel some hairs that were missed and a lot of spots that felt like the hairs were broken off. But, considering it was my first time, I’m not mad. With this experience at the Strand I will visit another spa in the same area before I go back; so I can get a better idea between soft and hard waxes.Overall, I would go back. They are a friendly company, trusting, and very professional. I may not go back specifically for a wax, but I’d be very open to having my hair done, nails etc. It was “money well spent.”

Mitchell does a fabulous job for women with short, fine hair, and he collaborates with you to make great color choices. Laura, the aesthetician gives a facial like no other. She is also qualified to provide dermaplaning, which replenishes your skin and takes years off your face! I cannot recommend The Strand enough! Try it! Youll love it.

I cannot say enough good things about this salon! I called on a Tuesday and they were able to get me in the following Saturday which was much sooner than I expected. The salon was clean and there was hand sanitizer right inside the door. Erica met me at the door and took me right back, no waiting, no questioners to fill out. The salon was clean and modern and I noticed sanitation measures implemented all around the salon. Erica truly listened to the way I like my hair and as there was 6 months worth of growth (thanks to Covid) the proof that she listened was obvious in the end. My hair is EXACTLY the way I wanted it. I’m so happy I found The Strand and I highly recommend!

I had an awesome experience - my 2:30 appointment yesterday was somehow cancelled but the receptionist lady/desk, was great - she contacted several stylists on site and was able to secure a new appointment that day at 5 pm! Given the holidays busy time, she really pulled through, totally professional.

Christy is awesome and does a great job. She gives good advice all along the way, from advice on styles to how to best keep your hair looking and feeling great. Shes also fun to talk with. She is prompt and takes the time to make sure Im satisfied. The other staff have also been very helpful. Its a bit pricey, but I always know I will be happy with the results.

My husband, son and daughter all go to The Strand for haircuts. Our stylist does a great job keeping our hairstyles with what is currently trending. She goes out of her way to make my daughters hair extra special each time we are there. The receptionists are always friendly and quick to help when I need to change an appointment.The facial and pedicures are so relaxing. I have sensitive skin and they went out of their way to apply products that wouldnt irritate my skin.

I had never been here before, and i figured it would be a lot more expensive for how nice the atmosphere was when I first walked in. I met my stylist, Jen, and immediately felt very welcomed! I always color my hair, and I had never been so happy with a dye job. I was astonished by how cheap it was, and I cant wait to go back! Also, they offer all natural products that are so much better for hair/skin. Loved it.

I went for a haircut, but seeing that they offer other services too like massages and foot spas, I decided to get a full body massage too after my haircut. It was the best. My back was kind of stiff after the haircut, so it was the perfect thing to do. The girl who did the massage was very good.

Great place to go!!! Ask for Catie...she always does a great job. She’s great about listening to what you want. The whole staff is friendly. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Judy did the layer cut very professionally. The layers follow my natural wavy hair nicely. I dont think I need to do much on my hair in the mornings. She is kind and very friendly. I travel a lot, but I will come back to her when I am in Columbia.

Terrible haircut as it was exactly what i told the hairdresser i did not want. new employee i’m guessing because she somehow cut my hair 3 inches too short. no refunds available for the exact opposite haircut i wanted. after i complained the hairdresser called me and told me she did a wonderful job, and basically called me a liar and that she “cut your hair much longer than you wanted”. terrible customer service would never recommend.

Am I fussy about my appearance? You bet I am and its never been an easy task to find a top notch hairstylist, especially since moving from New York 13 years ago. Well, I finally accomplished finding a superb hair salon & stylist right here in Columbia. The Strand and my hairstylist Keely are wonderful finds and I thank both for making me look & feel my best.

Ive only been to The Strand a few times. The first time, I got a few highlights and they turned out great. The second time, I chopped off 16 inches so I could donate it. I really loved my new do. The last time I was very lucky. I was 15 minutes late because I wrote it down wrong, but the stylist was more than understanding. If I could, I would go there every month, but Im trying to grow my hair out again. Maybe, I should get some color..... Hmmm.

Ive been going to The Strand for several years, and am extremely happy with their services. Shannon and Taylor are excellent stylists - both have consistently done a wonderful job of coloring, highlighting, and cutting my thick wavy hair. Yulia does the best pedicures and facials Ive had in Columbia. You may have to book an appointment with her well in advance during the spring and summer - but shes worth it!
