Had to quit my job to move home and pay 5 months of rent for a vacant apartment because these apartments are so unsafe, especially for a young woman living by herself. For starters, the complex is poorly lit and has nothing to prevent strangers from wandering the grounds. Homeless people were sleeping in our hallway and the only thing the complex did was put a sign on our building door saying that we needed to keep an eye out and report the trespassing to the police ourselves. I also had an attempted break-in and even had a stranger who was charging his phone in the outlet outside my door harass me and sit there for multiple hours. I alerted the complex to all of this and the male office worker always laughed and said he’d “handle it but never did. Warning if you sign here- the lease literally says they will never put up cameras, more lights, better locks, etc. because they aren’t responsible for our safety. Because the complex was so poorly lit, I felt so unsafe taking my dog out at night. Also, the apartment does NOT enforce their smoke free policy. I chose this complex because they were “smoke free” but suffered headaches and nausea nearly every day because my apartment was infiltrated with the smell of weed and cigarette smoke from my neighbors smoking indoors. I called management multiple times about this and they acknowledged it was a problem but continued to let it happen.I will give this complex 2 stars though because Kathryn in the office was the only good part of my experience. She always addressed my concerns promptly and was very kind and caring to me.

I love living in the Broadway Apt. complex. As an older single person, I feel safe here, it’s close to everything I need, and the staff and management are helpful and friendly. My dog and I enjoy walks around the complex daily. My apartment is quiet, and comfortable, with a great kitchen space and good closets. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a good and comfortable place to live.

I moved into the broadway apartments about 5 months ago when I first moved to Columbia and so far have had nothing but a positive experience. The property managers always either A) ask if it’s okay for them to come by to do any type of maintenance or B) let you know far in advance what date and time they will be by to do maintenance. This is really appreciated especially when at past apartments that I’ve rented the maintenance team or other staff would just walk in to my apartment unannounced. I could also tell that they took their time making sure the apartment was thoroughly cleaned before I moved in and the property managers and maintenance team have been nothing but pleasant to work with.

The Broadway managment team is second to none. The apartments are a little old but this is offset by the fantastic work of the maintenance staff.I spent two years here and never had a complaint. There is a mix of families, singles, and students. The location is excellent with access to bus routes and a wide variety of amenities within walking distance (restaurants, gym, mall, and grocery stores). As I was leaving the staff informed me that they would be renovating the kitchens in some of the apartments.Provides an excellent value and location with excellent people.

I lived here for 2 years and I must say I will really miss this apartment. Maintenance was fast, neighborhood was peaceful and I enjoyed my evening walks. I had to move because I got admissions in a different state. If you are looking for an affordable apartment in a beautiful neighborhood with great management, Broadway village apartment is the place for you!

“It is a bit unusual to be looking for an apt. at seventy,” I thought. “I need an unusual apartment.” I found one here. I noted the kindness in the young man in the office as he helped a resident get his gas connected. Sure enough. They are family owned. They do caring things because they do care.I got a 2 bedroom with lots of light for a very reasonable rate. Maintenance staff are prompt, competent and friendly. It is close to everything, from Walmart to the mall. There is lots of light at night, being so close to businesses. It is quiet and diversified - families, internationals, singles. I enjoy hearing the nations as I walk to my car.It is old, hence the reasonable rates. And well maintained.I recommend it highly as an older adult!

My special-needs sister lived here for quite a few years and loved it. The buildings are well maintained and maintenance responds quickly to any issues. She lived in a ground-floor apartment and never had plumbing or moisture issues. The only real issue she ever had was the summer her AC broke on a Sunday. They responded right away and had it repaired by the next day.The staff are fantastic and really care for the place. The best part is how safe and secure my sister felt. This is a good place if youre concerned about safety for yourself or a family member. The staff were especially patient when my sister needed help and I knew I could call them any time I had concerns. Id recommend Broadway Apartments to anyone looking for an affordable, safe, reliable place to live.

I have lived here for the past two years and it was a great experience for my first apartment. The staff are very friendly and easy to get along with. The maintenance crew is fast and almost always comes on the same day you report an issue. I would recommend Broadway Apartments to my friends and family. I am sad to leave Broadway Apartments but it is time for me to venture into buying a house but if I ever need another apartment this will be the first place I look into. I want to thank all of the staff for being so good to me here.

I like living here. Its a terrific location, and its good for the price. I wish the kitchen cupboards and bathroom vanity were more modern, because Im a sucker for polished concrete counterers and led lights, but for the price the apartments are stellar.Maintenance peeps are always super speedy. Most of the time within the hour! Ive lived in some dumps before with moldy bathrooms, mold on the carpet, and basically mold everywhere, but the Broadway Apartments are definitely NOT one of those. Theyre great for the price!I love living here. People in the office are always nice, friendly, and helpful. They feel like friends. Coming from a kinda big city where everyone is surly (Denver), but still good people, I really like the office staff. Theyre nice. Neighbors are good too.

Great place to live if youre looking to get away from the college scene. Moved from way out of state on short notice. Prime location. Management is very helpful and attentive, and rates are good! Additionally, the lease was very straight forward and did not leave a lot of grey area. Any questions that I had before signing were answered adequately.

Great place to live in Columbia. I have lived at several different apartments/duplexes, across town, and Broadway Apartments has been the best so far. The people that live here are all very quiet and friendly. The property managers are very understanding and helpful, and being a family owned business really goes a long way in terms of quality help. Having a pool close by is also a big plus, and never over crowded. The location is close to shopping and the gym (literally a quick walk around the corner). The privacy with the high fence keeps people from walking around from other areas, and have never felt unsafe. The property managers and maintenance staff live on site, and have a really good response time if there was ever an emergency. Highly recommend!

I have loved living at Broadway Apartments! I live in a one bedroom and it has more than enough space for me. It’s super close to restaurants, stores, and Walmart. It’s also less than 10 minutes to campus (The University of Missouri). The office staff have always been very nice and helpful. I’m sad to be moving, but am relocating to a new state.

We currently live in the Broadway Townhomes. I LOVE it. The owner is very kind and understanding, as we had a spell of bad luck and have fallen behind, but even though he is stern (which is his job so he does not get screwed out of money) he does his best to work with us. People say he is rude, and I do not understand why. He is a very busy man, he speaks fast and to the point, but that is not being rude. You have to understand that when you sign a lease for an apartment, you are not the only person in the world living there. We have never had an issue with any of the appliances that available to us, and the maintenance staff goes through from time to time (with advance notice) just to make sure everything is working properly. This was my first apartment ever, and I do not regret going with it. The staff is wonderful (you just have to take the time to understand.) and the homes are lovely. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been a resident of Broadway Communities for 2 years now. The location is great to get to any side of town quickly, and there are plenty of gas stations, grocery stores and parks close by. The University of Missouri campus is within minutes to drive and there is easy access to the highway. The management of Broadway Communities is always friendly and happy to help with any questions I have. The maintenance team is always keeping the grounds clean and equipment serviced. I will be renewing my lease again, and I would highly suggest Broadway Communities to college students or young professionals looking for affordable living with a quiet environment.

We have been living here for the past 4 years. The crew and management staffs are very friendly and easy to get support. Most of the time crew came in fast on time to fix my reported issue. Also they have a nice medium size outdoor pool for residence and their guests. Another nice thing is the place is so close to the Golds Gym and shopping places such as Walmart, Hy-Vee, and Columbia Mall. We are paying affordable cheap price for 2br/1b then other places and we would recommend this place to anybody including students.

I called to ask a few questions about the community, and the man was extremely rude on the phone. He was very short with me and told me I have 30 seconds to answer your questions!! and Someone is coming in, I have to go!! and hung up. This was very off-putting considering I was very polite, right from the beginning. I know it doesnt sound like reality for someone to act that way, but please dont take your bad day out on others. I cant speak for the conditions of the property, just the behavior or the staff. I will never send anyone their way again.

Overall, its not a bad place to live. The maintenance staff here are much more helpful than anywhere else in Columbia (and Ive lived in about half of the main apartment complexes in Columbia since we tend to move every few years). The main problem is that since the place is so old the plumbing is a problem, and if you live in the basement like we do you have water problems from time to time... When we first moved in the sewer backed up and flooded us out. It was gross. The carpets were not replaces after that unfortunately. This weekend a foolish upstairs neighbor let a bathtub run over so now we are dealing with a similar problem. If you get water problems - MAKE SURE THEY CHECK ALL THE MATTING UNDER ALL OF THE CARPETS AND NOT JUST THE CARPETS THEMSELVES. We found that a lot of mildew and water seeps in to the matting under the carpet that sort of hides itself when the carpet on top seems dry - the mildew stench is horrible from this problem. For a very long time one of the washers in our building has been out of order (it worked but the spin cycle was out so you had to spend twice as much on the dryer to get the clothes dry since the washer left them soaked), but I see that an order to replace the broken part is now happening, so thats a good thing. Its just sad that its taken this many months for that to happen, even after I called them about it a time or two and left a note on the washer about it.Because of this whole flooding from upstairs tub thing they are having to replace the ceiling tile in the bathroom. So far, its been fairly quick process considering that the 4th of July was Thursday, but theres still one more tile that needs replacement. With the tile out I noticed an actual outside gutter sitting above where the tile normally is. Im not sure if thats to help with some sort of drain problems or what, but it was really weird seeing an outside gutter sitting there in the ceiling between the bathroom and the upstairs bathroom. Makes me wonder if there hasnt been flooding problems since the place was built and that is there for some weird reason to help with that issue or something.

I lived at the Lake Broadway Townhomes for 3 years and never had any problems. It was so affordable having the utilities included in the rent. Great location maybe 7 minutes from campus and if youre bold enough walking distance from downtown! Currently living at their other apartment property in a 1 bedroom and have really enjoyed it. Having a petco and G and D pizza right behind the complex is nice plus its only 2 minutes from Walmart and hyvee. Management and maintenance staff has always been terrific and couldnt recommend a better group of people! Ive heard horror stories of other managers at different student apartments and other complexes and you wont have any of that here at Broadway Communities. Definitely look into the townhomes!
