Take a look at the generic response they give all their unsatisfied customers. That should tell you all you need to know about this company when they cant even give personalized responses to their customers issues. Means they dont care about their customers or their issues. Period. The evidence of their poor customer service is written all over these reviews. Now I could write about how the dryers never work, they never cut the grass, peoples cars are getting stolen from their parking lots, how the people supposed to work the front office are never there, and so much more. But theres no need to when its pretty glaring from the reviews and responses that this establishment doesnt care.In the below screenshot, they literally address a customer they are responding to as Dear Useless Nobody. That says everything you need to know about what they really think of their customers. (Its the response to Amanda Julius if you want to scroll through the reviews and see it for yourself, approx 13 reviews down from mine)
Unsafe environment to live in. Our apartment was broken into and my bedroom window and front door were broken. “Emergency maintenance” took entire too long to get to us and the apartment has left the window and door broken for over a week now. We hear gun shots multiple times a week and domestic disturbances even more often than that.
This place is wonderfully from the staff being understanding to speedy responses they are wonderful and my apartment is great they are starting some new projects as well this place is amazing. Great place!
Maintenance man Kerry is why I’m giving you guys a 5 star rating. He is so knowledgeable about local fishing holes and always ready to help. Thank you Kerry!
Incompetent staff especially the off site ones which is so dumb they don’t know anything about the apartment and only there for relay messages (somebody should let them know about a message machine on the phone) maintenance takes forever to fix an issue it took 2 months to fix my outside light and they only allow you 14 days to have visitors, so that others can park well maybe if made the parking lot bigger and more visitor spots you wouldn’t have a problem 😒I only choose this place for the rent price when I moved in but honestly if it goes up it not worth it - maybe if management saw this they can fix their issues.
You shut down the pool on a holiday weekend. Then when you do open it back up it’s for your employees???? So are you going to discount the residents rent? I gave one star but it really should be no stars. From the parking lot not being paved and tearing up peoples cars, to the landscaping looking a mess but you planned to up the rent this place is a joke
I wanted to give the maintenance team some stars they have been great I absolutely love them friendly, polite, helpful, all around great. If I could have the front staff be as great as my experience with maintenance I would be thrilled. My move in was rough to say the least back in September and the only person who tried to help was nick the manager Amanda had did nothing expect offer me to move out instead of helping with the issues with my unit I reported the building smelling like marijuana because it’s supposed to be a smoke free complex and was basically treated like a complaining four year old which I didn’t appreciate. My list of issues with the front office could go on for days. So the stars would be five if I had the same service from the front office as I did the maintenance staff again maintenance and Nick is great but everything else could use improvement.
I would give zero stars if I could. There are too many problems to list and I dont want to write out an essay. Ive lived here almost 2 years.Do not move here if you are wise.
Trash place to live if your in the military don’t move here they don’t care about you, they never cut the grass your car gets towed and you sign a $1350 lease but they charge you 1500
My husband and I lived here for three years before we moved out of state. It changed management a few times, but we really loved living here. My car was broken into on one occasion, which was a huge shock. Many people say this area isn’t safe, but I think the overall crime in COS is high. I loved that Safeway was a walk away and my dog and I frequented Wildflower Park almost daily. I miss this place and Colorado Springs!
Potholes so deep you need 4wd to navigate. I can not believe that they let their lots get this bad between severe potholes and the trash everywhere you would think theyed get hire someone to fix it
DO NOT MOVE HERE, the staff doesn’t do their jobs. I filled out a maintenance request to fix 3 lightbulbs and fix our fire alarm and get a cover for our light switches but instead of coming and fixing it they just gave me a 9v battery, 1 light bulb, and told me I have to do it. I ended up cutting my hand trying to change the light bulb cause turns out your need a suction cup to get the light out, so yeah most definitely moving out in the end of my lease
Please for the love of god do not rent here. Possibly the worst apartment complex in the springs. They tow for absolutely anything here. I’ve been towed more times than I can count, even with a parking pass! One day notices for slight inconveniences, and a parking lot with potholes and speed bumps that feel like they destroy your vehicle every time you drive in the parking lot. Like everyone else said in their reviews this place is trash go take your hard earned money and rent somewhere else.
I lived at Antero from July 2018 - July 2020. Kathy Flores was my leasing agent and now the assistant manager. I was very pleased with Kathy as I know most of the decisions that occurred did not come from her. Ive had a few maintenance issues during my residence and for the most part they were resolved. I still had issues with my neighbors cigarette smoke filtering through my apartment which caused me to cough at night. Antero tried to accommodate me as much as possible however the smell still filtered in through my vents. A few months prior to my move the community started to change. Neighbors blasted loud music. Young men and women....somewhat intimidating were hanging out in the parking lot throwing garbage, playing music, drinking and smoking who knows what. At one point they were filming a rap video with a camera man and everything in the parking lot. I also witnessed a young soldier carry out what appeared to be an automatic weapon and handgun (noticeably waving in the air) walking to his car and sitting with these weapons for a great deal of time. I dont know what his mental status was at that time but it was disturbing. My final qualm is when I was charged for additional carpet cleaning fees for a supposedly cat urine stay. My female cat is spayed and has never sprayed in her entire life. I know this for a fact. My email request to re-visit my apartment several days following my move out date (to view the stain) was ignored. I had no choice to pay the 232.00 fee otherwise it would have gone to collections. Apparently there is NO appeals process and its your word against theirs and its a no win situation at the end of the day. I left my apartment in STELLAR condition as stated by Kathy. My apartment was so clean that they waived the cleaning fee. I am very disappointed that I was charged for additional carpet cleaning fees without the opportunity to view the stain or appeal the claim. For this reason and other reasons stated above Antero has lost my recommendation for other future residents to move in. Id really like to support Antero however due to my personal issues that have occurred I cannot.
This apartment has its ups and downs. I haven’t had issues with the staff, they have been nice and helpful whenever I’ve needed something and the maintenance staff has always been friendly and quick to fix whatever needed fixing, they even gave me advice about car trouble I was having. The inside of the apartments are nice, clean, modern black appliances with efficient central heat and a/c. I’ve loved the pool area as well, it’s hardly ever busy with people and it’s clean, I’ve throughly enjoyed using it this summer. The reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because of the area. To have this apartment with the amenities in the central or north end would be probably $200-$300 more a month so you pay for what you get. If you want a nice apartment and nice appliances and you don’t want to pay over a grand per month then you’re going to have to sacrifice the location. It’s not the worst though, coming from Milwaukee I’ve experienced much worse than south Colorado Springs. It’s not like I fear for my life living here but be responsible and lock your doors and don’t leave things in your car. I would like some security cameras as it is pretty dang dark in the parking lot at night. All in all, if I was not relocating I would probably have renewed my lease for another year. It’s not the fanciest place and as long as you pay for rent on time and follow the rules you shouldn’t have any problems with the office staff. Don’t expect a hand out, this is a business not a charity. All they want is you to pay your rent on time and to follow the guidelines
Do not rent from them. Jesus Christ I cannot stress this enough. We moved out not too long ago and we are still dealing with them. They are not nice apartments at all, not worth the price either. You can definitely get something better. No on cleans up after their pet. After moving out I still had to come back to clean up the apartment and the field was infested with dog poop. I read the reviews before renting here and honestly I wish I would of taken the reviews more seriously. This place is filled with a bunch of headaches and all they do is squeeze out as much money as they can from you. Not to mention how unsafe it is specially when the cops are there almost every week, people noise complaining about you even when you’re not home, and not to all the break ins. My friend whom is a female was followed all the way to her apartment door, and is still constantly being watched by a group of men. It’s super unsafe and having stand offs in that area is not unusual. It was an experience I never want to deal with ever again, if you can stay away from these apartments, do it.
Staff was amazing. Very friendly super informative. If looking for a great environment to live in I give it two thumbs up👍🏽👍🏽
Went to visit someone there and parked in the visitor parking, woke up the next morning and my car was gone. Come to find out they have something in their lease about visitors needing to register their vehicles every 14 days in which I was unaware of and the person I was visiting wasnt told upon move-in. $217 later I finally get my car back what a waste of money.
Worst experience ever, probably worst apartments in the springs, if google could have 0 stars it will show better my satisfaction
Just AWESOME customer service from Destinee!
I just moved here and the apartments has these extra fees hidden within the rent I’m paying a grand for a small one bed room which is not even worth the price they don’t even have lighting in the bedroom . I would definitely not recommend living here .
The area itself is very good and after a year of living here i have had very little issues. Im not a fan of some of the changes that have happen like the addition of a mandatory tech package with a particular service which is an inconvenience to some tenants who were already settled with another provider for a long period. This is just another additional charge that seems very pointless in my opinion and only beneficial for the complex itself with no consideration for the tenants. Also i am not a fan of having visitors due to the risk of their cars being towed if they do not register in time, this is honestly the first place ive been that does this. Some people may be all for the new changes given that they already have that provider however I renewed for another year but that will be it for me. Antero is still a overall good place to stay especially for individuals new to Colorado Springs but a temporary stay at best.
Antero is a nice facility, but to contract with a tow company that shows no respect for the residents that live there is a direct reflection of the amount that these apartments care about the residents. My vehicle was registered, and allowed to be at the apartments. With COVID, I was unable to have my new vehicle registered with a licence plate because the DMV is by appointment only. We worked it out with Antero, and they worked it out with their tow company to make sure my vehicle wasnt towed. Two weeks later, they towed my vehicle. Since it was their mistake, they released the vehicle, however they did $300 in damage to the car.My fixed income doesnt allow me to get the repairs. Antero volunteered zero accountability, same with the tow company.Save your money, stress, time, and effort and find somewhere else to reside. These people are oppresive during a global pandemic. Shame on Antero and your tow company. To further the negative review, just look at the cookie cutter cut and paste responses they address in.these reviews, feigning sincerity and professionalism.Edit: you can see the response I was given. Ive already spoken to the leasing office and they said the damage to my car is not their responsibility, but that its the tow companies responsibility. So, to summarize, they contract with a tow company who damages residents vehicles, the leasing office claims no responsibility, yet they want me to speak to the leasing office again so that response isnt public.Save the money and stress and find somewhere else to live. These people are slumlords at best.
Do not rent here. The location is loud and dangerous, and the apartment staff is rude and unhelpful. You can find a much nicer and much safer place for the same price. Keep looking. We can’t wait until our lease expires, and we can find somewhere better to live. We regularly see homeless people hanging out in the parking lot, we hear gun shots at night, and we constantly have bugs in the house (the staff’s response was to put sticky rat traps throughout the house, instead of fixing the gap in the front door).Unless you have a 4x4, good luck driving through the parking lot. Antero has one of the best off-roading spots in Colorado, and they call it a parking lot. Don’t expect them to fix it. Nothing gets fixed around there. The walls are paper thin. You will hear everything your neighbors are doing and saying. The staff is nice while they’re trying to get you to sign a lease, but as soon as you’re committed, you won’t be able to get in contact with them if you have any problems. The complex is notorious for towing residents and their guests. Also, there are no cameras on site, so when (not if) someone hits your vehicle in the tight parking spaces, you’ll never find out who did it.There’s a reason this complex has a 2-star rating on Google. Trust the reviewers. Do yourself a favor, and keep looking.
The office staff was always very helpful with any issues I ran into. The apartment itself was nice and modern, with a new stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Never had any maintenance problems over 2 years. Only issue I had was finding parking close to my apartment, but theres not much that can be done about that.
Not worth it at all. Extremely expensive for an apartment that is falling apart. There are gaps between the floor and the base boards, the bathtub plug doesn’t work so you have to hold it down in order for the bathtub to drain. This has happen even after taking a shower. The carpet is pulling up and you can feel nails underneath. The heater and A/C stopped working so have been living with the extreme cold and heat from the outside. Tried getting ahold of the maintenance but they haven’t replied in over a month. The washer and dryers are awful. The card machines rarely ever work and they refuse to take credit for it. They just say to get ahold of the company who makes the card machines. The dryers never get your clothes fully dry either, even on the high setting. The staff is friendly, so I give them that, but everything else has been so disappointing. The safety is also horrible. We had a guy hold a neighbor hostage and we had to leave the area. Came back with a hole in our closet wall with tear gas seeping in. They did nothing to reimburse us for any damage or lower the rent. Everything was the same price and they took over a year to fix our door properly (the SWAT team broke it down). Oh and now they are asking over $1400 for next year lease. Please stay away, this place has been a nightmare.
Seriously, the management and team here really suck at doing their jobs. who gives a one day notice to their tenants? At least the staff before this new staff gave at least a one week notice for any maintenance to be done on the complex. This is just ridiculous. I do not have time to take everything off my patio just to put it all back 1 day later... Is this a joke? Some people have night jobs, please be more considerate to that and give a more advanced notice. I now have to remove all the things off of my patio so you can Reseal breezeways and patios.... I wouldnt have had an issue doing this, if I had received a more advanced notice, but 1 day? really?I do not recommend living here. I have lived here for 7 years, and seen staff members come and go more than I buy new clothes in a year. If I had the money to move, I certainly would.
Would give zero stars if I could. Not a terrible apartment complex, but the money hungry management are the absolute worst. When we moved out we left our apartment in better cleaning conditions than when we initially moved in, even after 2 years of living there. But we still faced excess charges for things that I already replaced before leaving. After signing our lease they also unlawfully denied my ESA paperwork from my therapist stating it could only come from an MD by proving I was disabled, which oversteps the Americans with Disabilities Act. Save yourself the headache and trouble and find somewhere else to stay. Not worth it.
Recommend talking to the manger if you got any issues. She’s great.
Absolutely love staying here at Antero! Alexis is the best so if you need anything she’s the person to go to.
If I could give this place zero stars I would! The office staff is useless. They dont care about their residents. I have neighbors who are so loud and blast music all day and night and start playing drums above my kids room at 9/9:30 at night. But they wont do anything about it because its allowed supposedly here until 10pm. Ive explained the neighbors know I have small children. My oldest two have autism, so Im hearing all the time mommy too loud about the music. They will be woken up at night because of these disrespectful people. But office staff doesnt care. Do not rent from these people. They only care about the money the get from you. The office staff use to be decent, but it changes so much. All these young people in are too power happy. The play ground is always filthy and not very good shape. Very worn down. People never clean up after their dogs. Ive lived here going on 2 1/2 years, thankfully Im moving out in a couple weeks. I really miss Allen and charity at the office! They were the most decent ones. Just so your research before moving here! Trust the reviews youre reading. I had a visitor over one day and some guy tried getting into get car while we were standing 10 feet from it! He did end up walking away when she was telling me that some guy was trying to get into her car, he just have over heard her telling me because he left at that point.
You know, this place would not be too bad if the office people would just work a full shift. Its now the 3rd of the month, the website is down so I can no pay rent online, office is closed for again, another meeting that takes 2 hours. so I can not pay it via office. Today is one of my only days to get this done and I cant because the people in the office that pull 4 hour shifts, need a 2 hour break half way through. Seriously, I dont get why they dont make the staff come in early, or stay late to have these meetings. To host them almost every day & close the office during the begging of the month when rent is due is a joke. *UPDATE a week ago I posted this, Im having another issue with them. I paid my rent, have a receipt for it, and they are trying to double charge me rent, and late fees! Another update (August 3rd) I sliced my foot on some metal they have stricken out of the ground near my apartment. I cut it pretty deep, I dont ever go to the hospital but they would have stitched it. I have photos, and all that jazz. I reported it and they all laughed and made excuses for the metal being there and did not fix it. I even told them how they could make it a tad bit safer with little to no effort and they all just sat there and continued to be useless.
Straight garbage.DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE, you will regret it after few weeks.
Just signed my 3rd year. The office staff is amazing, my children always want to go say hello to the ladies. Anytime I have ever had a maintenance issue, it was taken care of within 1 day. The closest space is phenomenal. it is a peaceful and quiet place I call home.UPDATE: The above review from 9 months ago is no longer valid.• Office staff is now non responsive• Multiple maintenance requests outstanding• 24 hour gym only open 9am-6pm• Dog feces never picked up• Parking Is challengingThis 3 year resident will not be renewing another lease.
I would give this place zero stars if I could these apartments are trash. If you like getting your packages stolen and listening to loud music all night then this is your place. Also if you like hidden extra fees after you move out this is also a place for you. If not find something better dont waste your money here.
If I could give less than one star, I would. Absolutely worst place I have ever rented from, if you like your apartment being flooded for weeks whenever it rains and then never told a timeline for when your issues will be fixed, then this is the place for you. I’ve lived in two apartments here and maintenance will always be in your apartment because nothing ever works/your AC will continuously break/doorknobs fall off/crappy dishwashers. The value of these apartments is incredibly low for what they charge you. I do like the maintenance workers and some of the staff (Emery is super friendly and professional) but I would like it better if the manager did what she was hired to do and addressed the issues of the residents in a timely manner without her snarky attitude.
Been living at Antero for about a year now in one of the newly renovated units, and its very nice community. The complex is pet friendly and there is a dog park on the grounds. The amenities are great: bbq grill/picnic area, pool, gym, business center, and a playground for the kids. Overall, the renovated apartments have a sleek, modern look. I really love my bathroom! I also like having hardwood floors in the kitchen/dining area and carpet in the living area and bedroom.
First things first why does someone need to give three months notice to move out???They complain about every little thing I live on the middle floor and my neighbors underneath me complain about me watering the flowers, walking, Playing TV to loud. But what she fails to realize is that I hear everything as well from the neighbors above me I can hear when they walk I can hear when they use the bathroom and take a shower that’s called living in a complex Apartment if you want that peaceful Noise free life get a house But please don’t knock on my door with your nonsense.I’ve gotten complaints about smoking marijuana and I don’t even smoke I’ve got complaints about the noise making after I personally went in the office and explain to them about what this lady continues to do. then they send me a complain about my noise after I’m the one that went in the office to say something about it.Not all but majority of the people in the office have a very bad attitude and are snooty So of course when I go in there now I go with caution I’m not very happy nor do I smile I’m very irritated with this complex. But this is what tops everything in my eyesI have lost my keys over the weekend so I called the office on Monday and asked how much it would be to change the locks the lady said she had no idea how much you would be in that she will call me back . Next day I went down personally because I did not get a phone call back and ask them about the locks they still didn’t know had me wait until they found out and then told me was going to be $75 I paid it that day and still have not got my locks changed. Went down again and ask them when will they come to change the locks and he told me that it’s a work order so they’ll get to it! But I can tell he knew I was very frustrated so he said that he would talk to somebody right when he got back from lunch! In my eyes being a single woman with a kid I’ve clearly stated I’ve lost my keys I would think they would take this in the Serious consideration Change the locks as soon as possible so no one enters my apartment in case they do find m change locks as soon as possible so no one enters my apartment. Safety is the most important thing we pay our rent which I feel is out rages for what we get . I would not recommend anybody living here not for the price not for what you get and especially for not what I have experience with in these last three monthsThe dog park is disgusting Very few people pick up their dog poop. Right out front of my apartment and in front of the Mailboxes smell like Pee and dog poopBut no one thinks it’s serious enough, Now that’s a rule That they should enforce we have kids that run around here and play all the time and step in and dogs poop. But we’re more worried about people not parking in the complex and making the pool look amazing and doing all these adjustments but not physically emotionally supporting the people that are in the complex. Working overtime to get people to move in here but not taking care of the ones that already live here that doesn’t make sense to me that’s why see moving trucks of people leaving every other day no you’re worth people And find a better place to stay
Upon moving in I was impressed with the place and the staff was friendly. Not so much anymore. The areas around my apartment are littered with animal pool from other residents, trash and garbage are all around the lawn surrounding my apartment.I had a vehicle issue and got a rental car as an interim vehicle. I messaged the complex through the resident portal telling them what my rental car plate was and that my parking decal would be on there instead of my usual car, but never got a confirmation email or message back. Two days later my car was towed to the tune of $217 by a company the complex contracts. I call the office to ask why and they explain I must come into the office to register a new vehicle. I explain that due to their office hours, Monday through Friday, 9-5, I cannot make it into the office. I am in the military and I leave for work at 530 am and dont get home until well after 5pm. Additionally I got the car on Sunday, so I could not even go in on Saturday morning to register it on my day off. They had no sympathy for this, would not partially reimburse the tow fee or offer an alternative for those of us who work full time. The two company is contracted and allowed to tow at their leisure, as long as they follow the guidelines the complex sets out, then the complex seems to wipe their hands of the issue. As a resident who has never violated any rules or been late on rent ever, I find this treatment absolutely uncalled for. Similar reviews of this property have already illustrated their money hungry practices and once my lease is up I will be moving out immediately. I do not recommend this complex to any sevice member or anyone with a full time job or unique work situation; they will not work with you and your money is better spent elsewhere.
Got my apartment super fast, and once you get to know the staff, super assistive and always go out the way to help. Make them laugh, and it builds a good relationship with them. People need to stop being so poopy, and just be friendly with the staff. Shout out to Alexis and the rest of the staff
I honestly enjoy living here. The complex recently came under new management, so their policies and staff are relatively new. Because of this, they were super nice and professional because of the bad reviews posted previously! I moved here from another state with only about a week to find a place to live. I got a unit that was already available, but didnt move in until about a week after I signed the lease (and didnt have to pay for that week). The complex easily could have gotten somebody else to move in to that unit and make the money of the week that I wasnt living there, but they didnt! The office staff was more than willing to work with me on my budget/move in dates so that I could get the place that I wanted.I noticed a previous review saying theyre paying $1000 for a 765 sq ft place..... totally untrue. My unit is that size and Im paying $800, which is a pretty great price for how new everything inside the units are. New floors, fixtures, appliances, countertops, etc. Yes, some of the doors and exteriors are a bit weathered, but the place was built in the 80s. I cant speak for all the buildings, but all my neighbors are really quiet and respectful. This is a military area, so a lot of the people here are in bed early since they have to be to work super early; so this definitely isnt a party community. But it still has a homey feel that makes you want to come home.
I have lived at Antero Apartments for 2 months and find it very nice inside the apartment, lots of parking, workers are constantly picking up trash in the lots and around the property and it well maintained. The dumpsters are emptied almost daily. Dogs are leashed never wandering around loose. Have had to call maintenance twice so far and they have been extremely prompt (even at night) and courteous.AC and heat comes on when you need it. I would highly recommend these apartments.
DO NOT MOVER HERE! The staff is literally the rudest group of human beings I’ve ever dealt with (and I was a server). Anytime I went to them with a problem or question it was an instant attitude that I was even bothering them. They don’t care about ANY of their tenants. All they want is money and will find any way to over charge you. They have lost documents of mine and blamed me for their mess. If I could rate this place no stars I would. The property is a mess. The playground and dog park are run down and dangerous. I have seen dog get their paws torn up due to he metal bone they have just completely out of the ground. The pools were open maybe a good two weeks all together during the summer. You can tell they just don’t care. The maintenance guys, save for one, just stand around talking in their shop. I would much rather have been homeless then spend another year here. Just don’t do it.
Living here was “ok” before the move out process. The apartment still had pet hair on the carpet everywhere even though they force you to pay them for carpet cleaning when moving out which tells me they didn’t clean the carpet. There are party people all night yelling and playing loud music. My mail was stolen off of my porch once. The washers in the laundry room break down all the time. Cathy in the office is pretty rude on the phone and has hung up on me so they don’t have great customer service. I also made an appointment when I moved out for them to come inspect my apartment to which the lady was LATE and I had to call the office and remind them they had an appointment with me. I received no apology and only unprofessional rudeness. They also have lots of hidden “fees” when you move out. Kind of a money hungry business.
This is the most useless appartment over. They can tow your car as a visitor anytime even if you dont leave it there overnight. I came to visit a friend and when I was about to leave around 1145pm I found out my car as been towed. I had to pay $280 to get it even though I did not leave it there overnight. Please if you cherish your hard earned money stay away from this appartment. Because even your visitors cars are not save from this thieves.
After reading each and every review available on THIS venue and visiting a resident who lives here I will not return here to lease an apartment. While visiting for less than an hour, I was advised to leave before my car was towed from a visitor parking spot! The apartment and grounds appear to need some ongoing maintenance that is obviously being deferred for some reason? Most of the positive reviews I read appeared to be older ones, indicating to me that management has changed.
PLEASE TAKE THESE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY!!!!This is an absolutely horrible place to live in!! They want to make money off you, in any way possible! They don’t care for people who live here.! They towed my car after two days that it was not moved! Please runaway from here. Me and my husband can’t wait for this lease to be over with!
I dont think I can recall a single issue I have had, since the new management has taken over, that has been resolved in any acceptable manner. Whether it is incorrect billing, no notice on certain policy changes, or towing my vehicle while on deployment after several conversations with management. If you are attempting to decide between this or almost any other apartment complex, choose the other complex. The only reason I have not moved out is because of my work schedule, not their management team or decisions.
I lived here for ~6 months. In that time, the entire office staff, save for one person, changed three times. I would go talk to a staff member about something one week, and two weeks later, there would be totally different staff there. I only knew the other staff was gone because there were new name plates on the desk every couple of weeks. I have a child and the playground was always very dirty and littered with trash. One of the children even stole my childs fidget spinner in the 5min we spent there. I saw police cars parked outside of different apartments and arresting people more times that I can count. Around 8pm, teenagers would walk around the back parking lot and try to break into cars. I had a guest over, and they were sitting on the porch when a teen tried to break into their car. Luckily, they caught him and told him to go home. They had broken into my car the day before. When I was moving out, I threw away some old furniture such as table legs and a small side table. Not even 10 hours later did i see a woman with her child going through the dumpster taking out the furniture I had just thrown out. A seemingly homeless man was walking around the parking lot screaming, making residents obviously uncomfortable. A maintenance man witness this and just kept walking. I was putting money on my laundry card when a staff member was giving potential residents information about the apartments. He had said that the machine I was using didnt accept cash when it in fact did. How are they training people so carelessly that I know more about the apartment facilities than their staff members? Theres two pools, but only one of them actually works. The other one is constantly under construction or just filthy. When I moved out, one staff member told me how the process of moving out would go, and what I could expect to pay. When I actually moved out, the quote was completely off. They seem to not actually agree on anything they tell residents, and like I said, most seemed to be ill trained. I would never recommend staying here. To top it all off there were roaches in my apartment as well as mold in the shower. For the price you pay, you are better off moving up north. These apartments turn out staff and military families like theyre on factory lines. Please save yourself the trouble of being cheated and experiencing an unsafe environment, and move somewhere else.
I absolutely love living here. Just have a slight problem with us putting money on laundry card when the leasing office is closed. We cant do our laundry if the leasing office is closed and we arent going to pay $14 just to do our laundry somewhere else. Put another machine in the amenities area so we have access to it? 😊
If I could give zero stars I would. I signed for a year lease in January, and for the first couple of months it was great. But then they started changing all sort of things. Like permit parking and reserved parking. Which I don’t have any problem with. I pay for a reserved spot by my building, and last week someone backed into my car pretty bad while it was parked. I go into the office with a license plate and make and model of the vehicle that hit me. They informed me that the vehicle owner wasnt a resident. when I mentioned calling the police to file a report to get my car fixed, I was told That would be useless. That aside, the truck that hit me parks in the reserved spot right next to my car and never get towed even though this is “ permit parking only.” I had to take my vehicle to a shop to get the damage fixed, and their insurance got me into a rental car. I go into the office to see if I can have a temporary parking pass to park the rental IN THE SPOT I PAY FOR, and I’m told that have to go back to the shop get my permit off my car bring it back get a new one for the rental then do that all over when I get my car back, and if I park it in my spot, I will be towed. These people like to control their residents as much as they can. On top of all that I’m paying a little over 1000 for all my bills to live in a glorified studio apartment. It doesn’t feel like home and I can’t wait for the end of my lease. This whole place is unreasonable. With All the hoops they make you jump through to live here, it’s not even worth it. I should have taken some of these reviews seriously when I was looking.
I have been living here for a little over 3 months and I love everything about these apartments. the staff in the leasing office is wonderful and help me when I need help with certain things. The neighbors are also really friendly.
Management leasing office anybody related to the Antero Apartments dont give a damn about their residence all they care about is you paying your rent on time. If there is ever a situation they wont do anything to resolve the problem not even get them efforts. Before moving here I should have checked reviews. The only reason why I came here is because it was cheaper than other places near my son school and available within a couple of weeks. But if I had given myself a little bit more time to look for another place I probably could have found a better place to live. Definitely something with better reviews. The apartment itself look nice but management and leasing office is horrible BEWARE
I have been living here since August 2013. My husband and I love it here. Anytime we have had an issue they always fix it right away.We live in one of the renovated apartments so all of our appliances are brand new. The office staff is pleasant. I love the convenience of having a Safeway right across the street.
PROS: The apartment itself look nice inside for the price but theres no light in the bedroom. Its spacious. Most of the staff are friendly.CONS: You must register for parking. so if you own 2 cars you can only register one. Barely Ny parking available. You will not have any data connection in the area unless connected to wifi. I had to switch phone carriers multiple times. &you will not get your deposit back. I REPEAT!!!!!
The fact there are 2 local guides for Colorado Springs that give Antero apartments a 1 star rating out of 5 should alarm you as to what kind of people youre dealing with.Despite outer appearances and a somewhat clean kept property, everything that glitters isnt gold. I will have lived here 3 years this August and the newest manager, Kathy, is the lead Disney character running this MIckey Mouse operation. Im making about half of what I made when I signed my lease 3 years ago due to a massive company wide layoff for which Antero has shown ZERO empathy for my situation. Hard times can fall on anyone and despite my having been current for 3 years, I am having to pay an eviction fee all the while being promised I will not be evicted, while only being behind 1 month. The fact they are willing to compromise future monthly payments from a loyal resident shows you they arent necessarily the wisest business men and women. While working during the day and trying to resolve my situation by phone, Kathy promised me a call back and that shed leave a message on my phone while I was at work. She failed to do so. She also gave me her word that I would be able to pay online, they blocked my online paying ability, and this was another lie. Despite the current situation, Ive left a review for Antero under another name which theyve apparently paid to have removed from Google as it was just as long a review as this one!Do yourself a favor and read the lowest rated reviews for Antero and choose a more reliable company and people to deal with. Although they sound nice and know how to smile, this is the easiest way to stick a knife in your backside when youre not looking. I have had my car towed from here twice despite being registered here with the same plates, I have had my apartment damaged from maintenance, my garbage disposal stopped working and instead of fixing it they just removed it altogether: you could sit by a campfire with smores and read the reviews of dissatisfied PAYING residents of Antero apartments as horror stories to future prospective residents.Antero: an Atlantean originated word that translates to backstabbing swindler.
You guys need to listen, this manger you have AMANDA IS A TERRIBLE HUMANBEING! she gave my wife the worse attitude ever! and if you knew my wife you would know shes the sweetest thing in the world. I told the wife maybe she isnt so bad ill go up there, I got the same treatment as my wife. Shes going to lose you time and money. also there were drugs being sold in my parking lot, I had to carry a gun for protection. Not safe for kids! I lived here 3 years, so trust me. Security is a joke, there 2 black guys rolling around in a crown Vick smoking weed. The reason I know this is because I heard 4 gun shoots in the apartments next to me and I went to ask them if they herd it. oh and the apartments inside and out are completely trashed and full of mold and bed bugs.
Worst place Ive ever lived. Take your money when they can, dirty apartments
The apartments arent bad for the price....sucks both pools were closed every Monday...staff well Jenny is the best as for everyone else good luck....they do try to take every last penny when it comes to stuff and we had bugs and werent told full details for getting rid of them, with three weeks of packing and unpacking my house while I was 8 months pregnant...other than that decent apartments......will we be extending lease not sure about that.
I have been living at Antero for about a month now and I really love it. The staff is friendly, helpful, and prompt in resolving issues with maintenance or anything. I live in one of the units that hasnt been remodeled yet and I still consider it to be very nice. There is always plenty of parking and the neighbors seem to be alright.
The office staff is a complete joke this place will RIP you off at all costs make up a bunch of damages upon move out. Truly no one should live here with the managements shady business tactics. Alexis and the apartment manager will lie right to your face .very unprofessional you would think they would change their ways but it wont be until something personal happens to them then will it happen. You two are going to regret the shady tactics you run here if 95 percent of the reviews are 1 star. I would have rather lived in the straight ghetto than to live here
If you like avoiding potholes in the parking lot....this is the place for you....oh yeah and mandatory tech package tacked into your rent
Best place weve ever lived! Spacious and affordable. We had a great community, people were always kind. Maintenance fixed all our issues next day. We had a few billing issues but the office fixed them right when we pointed them out. Super flexible and a great place to live. The dog park goes back and forth with cleanliness and the water hole seems broken majority of the time, but that is our only complaint. Highly recommended, they have been striving to make it better and better, it really shows!!!!
... A lot of these reviews and complaints are bogus. I moved here in mid November 2015 after taking over the lease of a military resident who needed to move. I like it here and I am renewing my lease and getting a bigger apartment. I have never had an issue with noise, trash, or mold/mildew. I have not seen any bugs in my apartment either.... I have never had an issue with maintenance.... There is a dog park and also doggy bag stations every few feet. So the complaint about dog poo is not the fault of the office but just lazy residents.... Same with complaints about trash. There are people who work on the grounds all day and its not their fault if some residents have no respect or sense of responsibility for keeping the place clean.... The people in the office have never been rude or mean to me, if anything they have been very helpful in making this area more of my home. They also have resident meetings and do different community activities.... I make use of the fitness center and lounge. I also use the pool.... I have met the night patrol people and one even knocked on my door to check on me after noticing my screen was bent.... The only issue I have ever noticed is parking, however, there are residents with multiple vehicles and that makes it a little difficult to park right at your door.... I have looked at a lot of apartments and even more apartment reviews. I am happy with my choice.
WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX IN COLORADO SPRINGSDO NOT LEASE HEREI PROMISE YOU, YOU WILL REGET IT
The staff do not care about anyone but themselves. not professional or helpful.
Over populated... if youre home past 4 pm and want to park by your apartment forget that and get ready to walk washers smell like wet dog .. the playground is always dirty office management is rude by if they see you while theyre showing possible new tenants around they will greet you with a smile .. Got a second star because the haunted house was cool but you could always live somewhere else and pay 5$ to visit that lol
This was the absolute worst experience i could’ve had at an apartment. For 9 months i complained about the family above me because they would scream at each other at 3am every morning. nothing was done. they tow your car the minute your parking pass expires (you have to register it online, every 24 hours) and it $300-400 to get out. the rent is too high considering i’ve been startled out of bed from the fbi and swat raids on neighboring apartments. the staff was pretty nice except Kathy, she was the most rude, snooty human being i’ve ever met. she never addressed my concerns, she would look into my window everyday (i lived on the bottom floor) and upon move out, i shampooed the carpets, patched and painted the walls, the place looked better than when i initially moved in and she still hit me with $300 plus my deposit. so long story short, only move here if you want to be miserable.
If I could vote for no stars I would! This place is the worst, mainly the staff and everything is very unprofessional. Staff turn over is very often. Ask one staff member something, get an answer. Come in next week same question, different answer. The price is way to high for these apartments. Complete rip off! Drug usage/dealing very high here. I USED to be a resident.
Website allows you to select specific apartments that are available, choose your lease length and it gives you the price of that specific apartment. I called before applying to ask some questions and the guy on the phone immediately quoted me $100 over the website price. When I mentioned the quotes online, he got sh;tty with me and told me the prices online arent correct. That is literally false advertisement. I spoke to the manager and she was just as catty. Definitely wont be giving this place my money.
I have lived in these apartments from 2007 to 2009 and then again from 2015 to 2018 aka present. the apartment complex hasnt really changed at all over the years except for ownership. The first time I lived here the craziest thing that happen was someone drove their car in the the pool and thefts to peoples apartments. More recently this apartment complex like many others have started to increase the price to rent even though renovations havent really been made except for maybe the carpets, but everything is exactly the same from 2007 if not further back. Also there have been more break ins to residents cars and apartments. Just this morning there was a burglary that led to a stand off with the CSPD and SWAT team right next door to our apartments from 1-2 am till 4 am. I cant wait for my lease to be up so my wife and I can move away from here. There are apparently double standards for people who live here and people who work here as well as also living here. They seem to get away with whatever they want to do while the rest of us will receive a notice or a fine for doing something against the lease where as they dont. Spend the extra money and move more north from here or just buy a house. Apartment has parking passes in order to even park on property and if you would like to have a guest over its almost not worth the hassle to have a visitor. The very limited assigned parking spacing seems like a money grab and are almost impossible to get. On our side a apartment employee lives next to us. he seemed to already have one of the two assigned parking spots before anyone else had a chance to get one. Not to mention he utilizes the handicap parking right next to that one as well and seems to have a different vehicle using the handicap pass everyday.
First off Maintenance crew is great.! Those guys are always on time and always gets the job done. The people in the office are okay I guess, even though one lady always has an attitude and doesnt acknowledge anyone behind her desk and one of the men in the office always seems high off his ass. The reason behind my one star is because this apartment complex is not honest and honesty is key. If we would have know our rent would be $1,000, we would have moved and not signed a new lease. For $1,000 and the business center computers always having issues this place isnt worth it. Were in the process of breaking our lease and just getting a home.
WORST APARTMENT COMPLEX IN COLORADO SPRINGS
One of the worst places Ive every lived. Towed my vehicle nine times and Ive paid for it twice. They told me four different reasons they towed my car last night, then finally said they had a new driver? Make you pay for everything you do its ridiculous its not like you pay 1000+ a month for a low quality place. House floods when it rains bad. Giving us warnings about mariguana when I dont smoke but every in this complex does. Opens the doors useally 20-30 minutes after there supposed to open. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND! !!!!
I have lived here for a few months now and it is already such a regret. The management is very unprofessional, they dont get anything done they say they are going to. There are huge dogs that shouldnt be allowed in apartments, and along with that comes dog poop that is never picked up. Poor maintenance, and something is definitely wrong with the electric in the building. Do your research before moving in. Not worth it.
When I first moved to antero me and my ex absolutely loved it. I had to move a.s.a.p out of state and asked them what I should do so we could move out. We put in our paper for us to move out paid our money. they claimed they never recieved the paper work and now we are stuck paying 3000 dollars. It really sucks because I loved that place until that happened!
Maintenance is great...Amanda/Cathy are fantastic! The curb appeal needs alot of work....weeds all over...lawn mowed terrible...missing areas...no trimming or cleaning of sidewalks whatsoever....lil areas by apts missed...outdoor steps need sanded and painted...areas between apts dirty...curbs dirty. ..I dont know who landscaping company is but they are not doing Antero or Mgmnt right! Many of us take pride in our apts and this isnt right.
Worst apartment in the Springs. Neighbors are loud and property manager is unfriendly and unhelpful. Visit in the evenings during the spring or summer before signing lease. If you have kids, are elderly or a single woman, I do NOT recommend living here.
This place is horrible! And they never tell you the hidden fee!! And the stuffers are mean and they dont care about the residents! They only care about money!! And this place is expensive, it is not worth!
Use to have nice green areas but not anymore...and you pay $1100+
Lived here 22 years ago when my husband was stationed at Carson. When we moved back to the Springs 2 years ago we decided to move back into these apartments. Have always had a great experience with the maintenance crew and office staff. They always call me by name and make me feel at home. They are also the only apartments that have a haunted house in October, that is very cool. I would recommend Antero Apartments.Update: It is two years since I wrote that review. Things have changed drastically since that was written. Management has changed, the entire office staff has changed several times. Most of the maintenance staff has changed. Since the change we have had our cars broken into and things stolen off our porch to which the office said those shouldnt have been on your porch. And now they have reserved paid parking which would be nice and we pay for a spot, however now they are resealing the roads (and their are still holes in the road), someone parked in our paid spot (with a reserved sign) so we called the tow and the company stated per Amanda we are not allowed to tow any vehicles at this time. Really, were paying for that spot for us to park in. Since they are still working on the resealing multiple sections being closed at a time making all those vehicles to park in other open spaces taking our spot leaving my handicapped husband who is a disabled veteran to have to park at the grocery parking lot across the street. This place has become a joke and the office and new owners do not care of any inconvenience the residence have to deal with. We addressed this inconvenience of parking far from the apartment and Emory responded its only an inconvenience for a few days. No concern, or care for the handicap with difficulty walking. Thats the new Antero Aparrments.
I’ve been living here for a lil over 3 years now and that does not include when I use to live here years ago. I came back . I love the new property manager (Amanda) . She is str8 forward and honest . I respect that, the office staff are coo too . Never an issue for me .
This place is the absolute worst. First of all, the layout of the apartment is terrible, there’s no proper place to put an average size couch unless you want it in front of your fire place or sticking out into the hallway. Second of all, my roommate and I paid $300 in deposits at move in and at move out they claim we only paid $150 and that we owe them. Lastly, the manager is completely rude and never available, you won’t get any help with any problem you may come across in this apartment.
If you are a young kid you will fit in. Not ideal for families, people partying all week long till late hours 3/4 in the morning on a business night. Cars drive fast through the parking lots. Drugs being sold and used in the parking lots, especially by bldg 1312. Would not live there if I had too.
They tow your cars. The landscaping has been neglected with dead grass, dying trees, and bushes that are NEVER trimmed. Noise and excessive marijuana smells are not addressed, then the staff will lie about addressing it. Now WE the residents are REQUIRED to pay our rent through Moneygram and have a fee that we must pay to do so “for our convenience”. We were never consulted about having to pay a fee in order to pay rent. It is fairly quiet to live here and most rapair issues are handled quickly, but the towing of cars (at the resident’s expense) are completely outrageous. I would definitely NOT recommend renting at this complex. Any attemps I have made to management to express my dissatisfaction have fallen on deaf ears. The management is very unprofessional. I am disappointed with my decision to sign a lease here.
This apartment complex tows their tenants vehicles. They require a parking pass to park on property which is fine, but situations arise where you cant get the permit right away. We got my girlfriend a new car last night and didnt get home until 10pm. Obviously the office was closed so we were going to get the pass and register the vehicle with the office in the morning. Wake up too the vehicle being towed and the tow company wanting $300 to get the car back. No warning, they just towed the car. Called the office, not help or understanding of our situation at all.
Very poor experience at this apartment complex. Air conditioning had issues multiple times, and the maintenance personnel went to grab a towel to fix the issue as if it would actually fix something. Employees are able to use the pool and lock the gate to keep other patrons out. I have been denied access twice due to this scenario. Their 24 hour security was unable to find the apartment complex which resulted in a hour response time. Overall, just poor experiences here and will not be resigning the lease.
I have lived here for 2 months and so far everything has been great. I honestly don’t know where some of these bad reviews come from. Our apartment was clean when we moved in, any maintainer issues have been dealt with swiftly. The office answers my questions and are very professional. The pool and doggie park are kept clean (it’s actually the maintance staff I see going in there and picked up other people’s dog poop that they don’t bother to pick up themselves.) My only gripes are parking is limited in the evening and I can hear the people upstairs stomping around. No other complaints. This is a great place to live.
These apartments are littered with thugs. These people stay up late smoking dope and playing music from their vehicles so loud it shakes the windows I have seen the cops here on multiple occasions to include 2 nights ago. They had a domestic violence situation with a firearm The kid ditched the weapon on the apartment grounds Thank God the police recovered it while the children were at school DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR MONEYUpdate months later. They have done nothing to resolve any issues. They park all over the back and side gates smoking dope, listening to loud music, and having sex in public. They will say it is the community. They are correct, the ghetto it is. I love how they respond, as if anything will change.
This place gets worse and worse by the day. The entire office is completely unprofessional. Make sure to get EVERYTHING they every tell you in writing. Amanda is extremely rude. Even if you leave documentation and talk to them. issues still arise. Absolute worst place to live.Update: This place is still the worst. Like 20 apartments flooded due to their poor drainage and I haven’t been able to live in my own bedroom for a week now, hopefully one day they can get their stuff together.
Been here a over a month and keep getting charged move in fees. Rent is actually $150.00 a month higher than advertised due to excess fees and BS charges. Dog crap all over the complex, parking lot is full of trash every morning because of the high quality tenants. Skip this place, its terrible.
Antero was by far the worst place I have ever lived. Not only is it expensive, its really not worth it. On the first couple of weeks we were here, we had a lot of rain, our baseboards were turning red from mud and dirt, and I swear our apartment floor is sinking. There is never any parking near our home, we always have to walk. People are loud, rude and honestly have no common courtesy towards others. A couple of months ago, the apartment above ours was renovated, all through the night they were power drilling, hammering, blaring music and stomping around. Even after the complexes designated quiet time of 10 p.m. Oh, and on several occasions they got our apartment mixed up with someone elses and repeatedly entered our apartment with no cause or permission from us. They left a note though and when I called the front to see what it was about, the woman had the nerve to say well they left you a note didnt they? That is not the point. No one was supposed to be in my home, I have pets that were not put in kennels. What if she had gotten out? And on moving day they had the nerve to charge us an 85 dollar cleaning fee for the stove. Which I cleaned. It doesnt matter because they are renovating this apartment after we leave and replacing everything. We were told when we signed the new lease as long as there were no holes or severe damage, we would get our entire deposit back, since they were renovating anyway. But of course that wasnt true. I wouldnt recommend living here. It just isnt worth it.
This apartment is terrible at getting anything fixed 🙄
Car was broken into back in Januray. My nephews car was towed last night even though there was 4 empty spots surrounding him all night. Over 300$ to get it out. You cant even get service at the backside of this property so I couldnt even register his car. Its like they get a cut out of every car towed because it has happened to multiple people Ive heard from that live here. Some days its takes me over 10 minutes just to get a text message to go through and I have At&t. Anyone i know who comes to my apartment cant even get ONE BAR of cell phone service. How do they expect you to register a guest pass in advance, what a scam. My old neighbor shot a bullet through 3 walls of our apartment. The maintenance crew has come into my apartment with no warning while I was gone. The office say they told me about it a week in advance, which was a complete lie. Im on 3 month lease terms due to my job and every 3 months this place raises the rent. I would not recomend these apartments!EDIT 11/18 Car was broken into again windows smashed out. Would not recomend these apartments to anyone
This place is awful. i lived there and never missed a payment. i deployed and come home to realize they are trying to charge me for months that were not even on my lease. management is terrible and was the worst experience of my life. if you even look at this place it would be a mistake!
So my apartment has had the smell of mold/mildew coming from the AC for a week now. I called maintenance yesterday and told them my issue and they said they would fix it. NOBODY SHOWED UP YESTERDAY and the smell has gotten worse. I called them again this morning and they said they would get a maintenance person here immediately. THAT WAS TWO AND A HALF HOURS AGO. I feel like mold should be an issue that is addressed immediately and not thrown on the back burner because you have other things to take care of. I cant use my AC and it is the middle of summer and the smell is starting to fill the apartment without the AC even being on! This could be endangering mine and my pets health and they are doing absolutely nothing about it and they are showing absolutely no concern for my problem!
I lived there two years and to answer Daniels question, there was a change in management! The new management is great! The staff are awesome too especially if you deal with Allen or Charity who make life incredibley easy at antero! :) every problem Ive ever had has been resolved by one of them in about ten minutes. I cant remember the other guys name but hes great as well! He sits to the right of Allen in the office has has always been a really friendly helpful guy. When our apartment burnt down we were immediately accommodated, no extra charge and they were nothing but wonderful to my husband and I the whole time we dealt with that problem. Very nice place to live :)
So where do I start ? Ive been here for about six months and all Ive received from management is bs when I first came in they said they would come and replace or fix my kitchen counters cause they were broken and nothing still after al this time here... my stove didnt work and I told them for about a week also they never did anything to get it fixed obviously I had to do it on my own, than my ac hasnt been working for about a month and guess what? Yes they havent done anything about it either so if youre looking for a new place this is not the right place. Im telling you what the point of paying a good price for a service that Im not even getting I honestly cant wait till my contract is over move out.
I got told the day before I was suppose to move in that I couldn’t move in. The manager was not at all helpful and does not care about anyone, obviously she isn’t good at her job. Anyone looking for a place that the staff is friendly and cares about its clients this is not the place.
I have lived here for 2 months and so far everything has been great. I honestly don’t know where some of these bad reviews come from. Our apartment was clean when we moved in, any maintaince issues have been dealt with swiftly. The office answers my questions and are very professional.
