I absolutely love my apartment! Although small, it is very comfortable and everyone I know loves my place. It is well maintained and maintenance is always on point whenever there is an issue ( which is not too often) I love the convenience of how close I am to everything… I would recommend living here
Mike and the entire team at the Maintenance Department are the kindest and most helpful humans I know. Any time I call, Mike responds with such empathy- he demonstrates a real willingness to investigate and resolve any problem, and always offers possible strategies to prevent any issues in the future. I am so very grateful for him, his team, and all that they do for the Richfield community!
It is the classic you get what you pay for. There is a reason it is so cheap. the one bedrooms are 500sq feet and the one I moved into looked it the paint was never done before we moved in the ceilings are actually mind blowing bad. But again its a great starter apartment that is cheap, and they allow pets. It is what it is not great not horrible very okay
I like officers because they are try to help always, they are friendly always and I want to keep living in this location but these apartments are very very old and inside apartments are need renovation emergency. EMERGENCY. We have non-stop problems, a lots of bugs coming and always problems come up with tiles, with bathtub, with the walls etc because these apartments are too old. I just fell down yesterday because tiles are came up when I got out from shower and bugs came up.Im taking details photos always, if you see that photos about inside apartment, you couldnt believe how bad it is. Thats not like show room.Unfortunately its true. Unfortunately.
Very disappointed in their service. I was pre-approved for their apartment and went back and forth with Lygia making sure everything was okay with the move in date. Two weeks before move in, Gordon and Lygia confirmed move in date. Two day before move in I gave my final paperwork and checks for the deposit and first months rent and was told that I would be welcomed to move in. The day after, which was the DAY BEFORE MOVE IN, I waited 45 minutes for the manager to then be told that I am no longer approved for the apartment.
This review is for the manager Maria Attie. She has been absolutely wonderful to my mother-in-law who is a resident at Richfield Village. Any time she needs something or needs help Maria is on top of it! We appreciate her so much!
I will be moving into the complex on 6/1. I have had the pleasure of working with Maria Atti during this time. Maria is Professional, courteous and very nice. She is extremely patient and works with you every step of the moving process. I look forward to moving into this community. Thanks Maria!!!!!
They over charge me and then when I let them know they returned the payment it put a 5 day hold on my Checking account . So I couldnt pay other bills. I never been so upset about this I wish they new their job. So People dont have to go to this.
Worker Louis treats you with respect & does a great job no matter what it is. Also new girl Shana is great speaks kindly & also respectful. Thank you to both of these people.
We have been living in this community for about 7 years and the management has always been receptive, attentive to questions, responsive to issues and most recently when there was a issue with another resident Alexander Shaw addressed the issue that same day with positive results. I would definitely recommend this community to anyone looking for a cost effective living environment with a positive experience.
I would like to thank Maria Atti for her help and patience during the rental procedure she made the experience so much easier. Thanks again Maria.
I moved in here on 1/15/21 and its a nice quiet neighborhood with plenty of shopping options nearby. The apartment was clean and sound when I moved in. A few cosmetic shortfalls that would not be unexpected in older building like this but the amenities and location make this a great value in my opinion. Ligia Gerges in the rental office was very easy to deal with and made sure I was fully informed of all the details i would need do to move in.
Great and affordable housing. Office handles any requests or issues timely
Love my apartment..I am very happy that I picked to live here..Thank you very much..I have no complaints..Me and my husband moved here March 15 2021.
It is easier to talk with IRS or Biden than try to contact this property, I tried to call them for a week, send emails, fill out forms in the apartment website and also their social media, nobody contact me. You need to hire more people apparently.
This is the absolute WORST place you can ever live. The apartments themselves are nice, but the employees are HORRIBLE. The staff in the leasing is the most disrespectful, unhelpful, and unprofessional staff there is. Ive reached out to them countless times, nobody ever answers the phone, and whenever I have an issue, it takes weeks for it to be resolved. The maintenance department is also horrible. They never respond to anybody, and whenever repairs are needed, all they do is cover it up rather than actually FIXING the issue.
The place is great very close to near highways andStores .
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS OFFICE, THEY ARE THIEVES! SENT A FALSE BALANCE CLAIMING OWED RENT TO COLLECTIONS AND CREDIT REPORT WHEN I OWED NOTHING, ZERO! AND STOOD WITH PRORATED DEPOSIT AND PET FEE ALSO CHARGED A $500 CLEANING BILL WHEN LEFT THE APARTMENT COMPLETELY SANITIZED AND CLEANED. BEWARE!
Maria in the leasing office deserves a gold medal. Maria is very helpful and very accommodating. She is the only one who always returns my phone calls. If she doesn’t have the answer to the question right there and then, she gets the information you need, and calls back the same day. A very big thank you to Maria, for your hard work, your super kindness, and your dynamite personally. Many of God’s blessings over you and your family. Thank you again, Maria. I appreciate it!
These are pictures from Tuesdays storm (3/14/17) the sidewalk leading to my house wasnt cleaned until Wednesday at 11pm. As of this morning, Friday March 17, 2017 the main sidewalk (Clifton Ave) has a big stretch that hasnt been shoveled. My mother, who is handicapped, cannot leave the apartment as she is afraid to slip and fall. Ive called and spoken to Maria, she assured me it would be taken care of yet, here we are.
The place is fine as long as you just pay your rent and be quiet and never ask for anything. Theyll constantly raise your rent and not for any real reason but its a new year. Oh and if you have some extreme unexpected money situation happen to you dont ever try to ask them to help you out with a temporary rent reduction. Youll get a cold heartless the rent must be paid message back from Ligia. No offer to work with, no compassion. Nothing. Not to mention the fact that my apartment feels like Im living inside a furnace no matter what temperature it is outside, and maintenance cant do anything about it because the boiler system is so outdated they cant control it. Its not the maintenance peoples fault, its management. With all the rent increases they do to all their tenants they can afford to give us actual value for that increased rent, but they wont.EDIT: Do not be fooled by them replying to bad reviews and reaching out and requesting an email. I have sent them two emails weeks ago. Still waiting for any response whatsoever. Not even an acknowledgement that it was received.
Maintenance responds very slowly, if they respond at all. They sound angry when you notify them of an issue The office hardly answers the phone when you call. I hope the owner of the company will send a rep to secretly observe their employees and address them accordingly.
I have been living here for 7 years . Since I moved in it was a nightmare . The heat never works it’s always freezing . The radiators leek which ruined my kitchen floors that they never fixed . The worst part is now I can’t even stay home because my bathroom keeps getting infested with fleas !!! Even after they sent an exterminator. I am moving out ASAP . Place is dirty flea infested !!!!! Oh and Animals live in the walls !!!
Nice area reasonable size apartments.
Get away from this apartment no one helps here when you have a maintenance issue water leaks through the air conditioner and ceiling very old nasty apartment. ETC.
Wanted to rent from this place. They NEVER answer the phone. Doesn’t matter the day or time, the phone won’t be answered.
Firstly, I would like to thank Ligia Gerges for her help throughout our process on getting an apartment. Ligia is very attentive, detail oriented, responsive, and professional. I definitely would recommend anyone who is looking to move here to speak to her. She is on top of everything and makes sure things happen and get done, she definitely has the potential to be a manager. If you are reading this Ligia, we thank you so much and appreciate your support.
Very nice and friendly staff…
I went here to view an apartment and the women in the leasing office wouldnt open the door, even after I said I had an appointment to view an apartment. She took my drivers license in the slit opening of the door to check. She never introduced herself or thanked me for coming. She was very cold and hostile. Odd and off putting. I will not be renting here.
Management was friendly but heat was unbearable and unlivable. The heat is controlled by the complex in the late fall to early spring, the internal temperature of our apartment would always be above 90 degrees. Our lease ended in December, and we stayed in hotels most of October and moved into a new apartment elsewhere in November (yes, we paid rent until December here. Thats how bad it got)The bathtub is moldy, and the bathroom has no exhaust fan. If you like to cook, there is not much counter space available. We were also charged $250 to fix caulking in the kitchen, which was a result of the high heat temperatures. The heat got so bad in the kitchen, that we could not leave fresh fruits or vegetables out on the counter or they would immediately rot overnight.Im attaching a screenshot of the 96 degree temperature during mid October.
Leasing office is unprofessional and favors some of the residents. A few residents have been emailing the leasing office regarding a resident who has a handicapped parking space and is taking 2 parking spots to park his cars that have expired registration since 2009 and 2016, and nothing has been done. The leasing office ignores all the emails and does not take any action. This resident is taking 2 parking spots for over 2 years and he has not moved the cars. The parking lot has been used as a junk yard while other residents cannot find a parking space when they’re back home from work. I wonder why the leasing office favors this resident. They’re ignoring everyone’s complaints. The resident has a one bedroom apartment and 3 parking spots plus a garage. It’s ridiculous how the leasing office does not take any action despite of people’s complaints. Can someone do something please?!
I have been living at Richfield Village for many years. I have reached out to Maria from the leasing office regarding issues that I had. she alwaysbeen courteous and helpful. she goes above and beyond to make surethat the issues have been resolved . Im grateful to have encountered sucha pleasant, kind, and very professional personal such as herself Thank you Maria you are a outstanding person.
If I could provide below 5 points I would, please listen to the reviews because they literarily stole my money and stopped replying to my emails I am taking legal action against them. It is illegal that they deduct the rent twice in one month and deduct paint for an apartment that was delivered exactly as it was received and pictures and videos have been provided to Maria before and after moving. It is beyond comprehensible. Am not even discussing the heat the condition of the apartment they gave me all of that was ok I tolerated it but to steal like this! you will hear from my lawyer soon.
Had the pleasure of working with Maria Atti when I first stepped into the rental office. She was polite, professional, and friendly. What a pleasure it was to work with her. Thank you Maria for helping me in my decision to sign up and move in! I recommend that anyone looking for an apartment here ask for Maria.
I’m so happy to have met Marie Atti, she was helpful and pleasant. She answered my questions, and when I had questions before moving in and called her she helped ease my mind. Thanks Marie for your help.
If you are considering moving into these apartments, you have to see what awaits you. This is one of the problems that I have had during the 2 and a half years living here. This happened at midnight on Sunday, December 20, after calling maintenance twice on Monday first thing in the morning, maintenance came to inspect and from there I have not heard from them ... during this week I have called repeatedly, but I still have no answer. These apartments are in extremely poor condition, the humidity is extremely strong and the maintenance department has a poor service. I am very disappointed in these apartments.
I have lived in Richfield Village for (going on) 36 years now and I have always been very happy with my apartment. Alexander and the rest of the staff including the maintenance department has always been very helpful with all of my concerns.
I had the pleasure to live there for a few years,Maria Atti was great with us,always very professional.I will definitely recommend this place and to have a great experience doing your lease, ask for Maria.
Very nice place, pet friendly
I met Maria several years back when I went to fill out my application. She was very kind and answered my questions without hesitation. Maria has been a wonderful source of help, and her kindness doesn’t go unnoticed.
I went on a tour was very happy to met Ligia Gerges she was the most generous person you can meet with so much knowledge and welcoming person. I’m glad I went to the office to meet such a wonderful woman who helped me through my whole process thank you for your supportFatin
Approaching 4 years & like everything else, Once you experience it, You get to see the truth. Maintenance department is a scam, Management is corrupted & the place is never in order.Dog scooping is never enforced. Dogs are always allowed to be unleashed & let run free on their own free will. After the recent storm, Trees are still knocked over & left unattended with no tape or signs of danger. Over all, The property is neglected. Management is unattended to the tenants needs & can care less.
Just moved out and very glad we did. Luckily the manager had been helpful and understanding- wish we had spoken to him sooner. Received so much inconsistent information from the leasing staff and maintenance. No one is on the same page about any information they’re giving out to residents and the front staff doesn’t even care to check if what they tell you is accurate!!Maintenance charged $25 to “re install” their broken AC unit even after telling us there would be no charge. The only reason we took the AC out was to use our own because the AC they provided had holes in it and bugs were getting in. All maintenance did was patch it with some tape - not even replace it! And still had the nerve to charge me after telling me the fee would be waived... Maintenance and the leasing staff have no type of communication and it’s VERY obvious that they don’t care to have the best interest of the residents. Not to mention the apartments they show you are nothing like the apartment you actually get. Our dish washer didn’t work, our stove knobs had no numbers on them. Bathroom had mold and the drains in the shower and sink constantly clogged up. At one point the toilet clogged and maintenance did not come until two days later to fix it. Imagine being without a bathroom in your own apartment for two days! The Dunkin Donuts down the road was kind enough to let us use theirs. Ironically enough, when you call maintenance this is considered an “emergency.”My recommendation - not worth the stress to live here and deal with the bs unless you want to be over charged and lied to!!!
I would first like to say the maintenance here in my experience is absolutely great they come every time I call and do a great job Maria in the leasing office is amazing she really helped my family when we needed it, however my neighbors upstairs are horrible no respect whatsoever but thank you richfield for everything.
I have not had a terrible experience here. I moved in at the end of December and anytime I need anything I am helped. Please see Olga if you need assistance! She had been a blessing since day one!!!!!
Maintenance department does not have respect for the costumer, bad
I dont even know why they have a phone number listed here they never answer, ive been living here for 4 years and i cant wait too leave!!!
Been living here since August 2019 in order to be closer to work. The studio is the perfect size for me and my dog and we have lots of storage, which I was happy with. The location Is great and I love how close I am to lots of restaurants and shops. The park where I walk my dog is basically across the street and behind my building is a nice bbq area which I have yet to use but would be super convenient for get-togethers in the future. Overall, happy with my decision to move here.
Love this place. The bathtubs are awesome!!!!!
Lived here for two years and should’ve listened to the other reviews before moving in. Disgusting amount of Water bugs that were confirmed to be coming from the old pipes. The rent was raised after one year for a shoebox of an apartment. Maintenance never responded when you would leave a voicemail. There was no control over the heat from September through March making these wonderful 510 square feet feel like project heating. They truly do try to take you for ever dollar you have in your security deposit. We were charged $100 cleaning fee when the apartment was spotless when we moved out (pictures were provided) wear and tear in the tub costs us $215. Absolutely no communication on what was expected expect for cleaning that we did and were still charged for. Stay away from this dump.
The lady was kind of rude. The apartment were kind of small. Nice area.
Very old apartments with major problems, nothing like model. Heat either too hot or doesn’t work at all, mildew in the bathroom, everything is old and not clean and very bad maintenance team that doesn’t respond and if it does a lot of times doesn’t show up.
The only reason why Im giving Richfifeld Village 1 star is because I love the area. But the apartment not so much. The apartment slowly continued to fall apart. My bath tiles started falling off the wall until I had a big hole in my shower wall. Maintenance is horrible! They take forever to fix stuff. And did I say fix? They dont fix anything! All they do is patch things up with a bandaid but never actually fix it. So it just falls apart again. Not only that, when you call maintenance for assistance, they always have an attitude and were very rude on the phone. So rude as if its your fault your apartment is falling apart.Maria in the leasing office is very rude. Multiple times I have spoken to her and she showed no interest in my concerns. Just horrible customer service. The neighbors are too close to you so your literally on top of one another so you dont have any privacy at all. Every noise you make your neighbors will hear or you hear everything from your neighbors, even when they are just talking. They increase the rent every year and the apartments are not worth it at all paying more for every year because the apartments are trash, filled with mold, a weird sewage gas smell that is always in your house. Had to call the fire department a few times to complain about the smell.Leasing office and Maintenance lie to you and act like they dont know where the smell is coming from. These apartments need to be torn down because they are just too old and have too many problems. They need to rebuild the whole entire complex from scratch.Just so unprofessional to deal with. Plus we had an infestation of gnats in our apartment which I complained about a few times and nothing was done. I had to kill so many gnats in my bathroom, it was all over my ceiling wall. Heater fell off the wall, maintenance once again just patched it up but didnt fix it so it happened again. My stove every time I turned it on gave off a gas smell which I showed concerns. I didnt want to use my stove because it would make the whole house smell like gas fumes that I had to constantly air out my house so me and my family were not breathing it in. And the leasing office put me through hell replacing the stove for a new one which they knew it was clearly damaged before we even moved in.It gets so stuffy and hot in the apartment so in the winter during a snow blizzard we were running the air conditioner because it got so hot in our bed room which only has one window so you cant open up the window because the broken air conditioner is taking up the window.I can go on and on about all the problems we had, but I would have to write a whole book.Happy we moved!
Nice apartments, great location. Pets allowed but grounds kept clean. Parking not a problem and tenants are good. Management office is very helpful. Ligia is extremely patient and kind. She puts your interests first.
The apartments are ok not bad they are not dirty just to small for the price, to Hot I’m the winter and the upstairs tenants do not follow the rules 10 is quite time and they use their exercise equipment after 10 and during early morning hours 130am and 3 in the morning, very in considering, I think the 2 years I’m here this will be it . Staff is friendly no complaints there but wish i knew about who I was living under hope you have a better stay!
The heat always turns on the second week of October, and you cant control it. It gets extremely hot, when maintenance came he even said it was burning. They dont always do a great job cleaning the snow. I slept and fell on ice, there was snow the night before, because they didnt care to clean the side walk at one of the parking lots. The office barely picks up the phone when needed, or responds back to emails.
We appreciate and thanks for the prompt action the Management took to resolve our grievances! On the day when I got the keys for our apartment we inspected the rooms and found that floors were not polished and some scratches on the walls but after my feedback the Management immediately took it into account and polished floors, gave touch-ups to the walls and within two days it was ready as per our satisfaction level. As a nice gesture and for the inconveniences caused they also gave us a Gift Hamper! The Management credited the three days rent to our next month rent as we moved 3 days later than the agreement date.Thank you
This place is horrible! Everything is such a fight. I got a big hole in my shower that I complained over and over about with nothing done. They raise the rent every year and dont do nothing. I CANT WAIT TO MOVE!
Ive been living here since mid October and cannot wait until my lease ends. The washing machines, when they worked, left my clothes damp and took about 2 and half more hours to dry them. They have been out of commission for more than a month now and Ive been forced to do laundry at the plaza by the Rite Aid.The AC units are old and take some effort to get them to work and when they do, they are really loud. The heaters are ridiculous. On top of making the entire house feel like a sauna during days when you dont even need heat (I have the AC on during the winter), there are nonstop loud banging noises (when I say loud, it sounds like multiple people are hitting them with pipes as hard as they can) about every half hour into late at night.Maintenance cant be bothered. Every time I call, they say theyll be there that afternoon and completely forget about my phone call. The last time I called was about 5 days so. Still nothing, not even a follow up call. It would take a miracle for me to ever get a full nights sleep at this place. When we had single digit days the heat was inexplicably off and it was freezing inside. I also had a gas leak situation in the kitchen when nobody could be bothered about a possibility of an emergency situation, even after leaving multiple voice mails to maintenance. From what Ive been reading it also sounds like I can say goodbye to a good chunk of my security deposit just for a regular paint job, but at this point Im willing to accept that loss just to get out of here. Way overpriced for what you get and the rent keeps going up every year. An absolute nightmare.Update: it is spring now and because the temperatures keep going above and below 60, the heaters are going crazy with the banging again and they seem to have gotten worse. Leaking and now the walls are rattling, both in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms. Still no word from maintenance 3 months later.
Living here is not as bad as it seems. Then again I can only go by my personal experience. Olga in maintenance has always been helpful and attentive. Automatic bill pay is a dream come true. The leasing office worked with me during the end while I bought I home and closed. I truly couldn t have requested a easier flow. Appearance of the apartment is not amazing but it is almost the best the area has to offer in addition to providing refrigerator with apt. Rent increases every year if you do not lock it in, so keep that in mind. During the winter months parking can be a hassle since the parking spaces are not designated. I lived on Addison Place, which is by far a great street. I always felt safe and that was the most important point for me. With that said, I would recommend this site without a doubt.
Today I experienced a tour of the apartment with Maria and it was nothing short of amazing. She explained everything in great detail and was more than willing to answer all of my questions. The grounds and the apartment were lovely. I knew I was leaning towards choosing this complex for my new home, but now Im 100% positive that I would like to make this my new home. Thanks again Maria!!
I am new to Richfield Village Apartments I am so happy to have moved here. Ligia has been the biggest help since I started the process of moving into Clifton. The apartment that Ligia choose for me is just perfect everything was beautiful the day I moved in. I couldnt be happier. The apartment was clean and freshly painted. Everything was perfect. I just cant say enough about how easy Ligia made this move for me. She is truly an asset to the company she works for and she is a wonderful human being. She takes her job very seriously and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect for her clients. When this virus is over I want to give her a big hug and thank her personally for all her hard work. Richfield Village you should be very proud to have such a wonderful person working for your company Ligia makes a difference. Thank you
Ive seen times when the heating system was problematic and when other issues came up in these older apartments, but overall both the maintenance and leasing office personnel have been helpful, attentive and responsive. The location is wonderful, close to highways, shopping and schools. The new app is also very good.
So far so good!! Ive been living here for less then 6 months. Other then one issue involving a three week constant alarm in the basement (minus one star) Ive been very happy with the managements response to calls.Pilot light in stove went out and LUIS was send over within minutes. He not only fixed the pilot light my steak juice ruined...He spend time answering my questions about the heat, missing screens where AC unit was, and the moisture on the cracked windows. All will be fixed soon thanks to MIKE and Luis on the management team.Update:Lowered my star rating! Unless you are constantly on top of everything nothing will get done. For example this is the third time in a month at the laundry room is not open when it should be. I have to constantly call maintenance as an emergency to come and have them open the laundry roomWithout follow ups and constant phone calls I don’t feel things are going to get done. But once I make phone calls and I’m constantly on top of things I feel that the final outcome is fine. It’s just getting them to do it in the beginning. No this coming in and you’ll be fine
Great value
Maria Atti is who I dealt with in getting my apartment. Maria is knowledgeable, helpful and always friendly. Extremely competent, I recommend asking for her when you come to Richfield Village Apartments to rent. I always go in to the office to get some of their great coffee or hot chocolate and to use their copier and fax machines, as well as their computer in the business center. And to talk with Maria!
Overall, Richfield Village isnt a bad place to live. The leasing office staff is incredibly helpful and certain people at the maintenance office are a DREAM to work with. The major problem Ive run into with the property is that it becomes unbearably hot in the winter with the forced heat. Easy to access transportation in NYC and nice sized apartments. Rent is fair for what you get! #JMGlistens
It’s been three years I can’t wait to move. The maintenance staff are very rude and nasty. They don’t return phone calls. And they don’t maintain these apartments and then want to blame you when something brakes. The laundry room is always dirty and machines are always broken. In the winter my apartment is like 80-85 degrees I have to open my windows it’s so hot because they don’t know how to regulate the heat which this is not healthy. When it rains my apartment smells from the basement. When I moved here I didn’t get to pick my apartment which later I found out I was suppose to. My apartment wasn’t painted the walls are dirty and it wasn’t cleaned well I had soap scum on the shower doors the oven was dirty. I complained and they did nothing. This is not a nice peaceful place I would not recommend this place to anyone.
From my application process with Ligia, to my move out process with Olja....the staff here really goes above and beyond to do everything they can for their tenants. The location is GREAT. Thank you for everything Olja. God Bless You.
DONT NOT LIVE HERE LOOK AT OTHER PLACES IN THE AREA MUCH BETTER THEN HERE I WILL GIVE IT 0 STARS IF I COULD PROMISE YOU WILL REGRET IT THERE THE WORST ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING THERE RENT MONEY AND THAT IT THERE NO HEAT IN THE APARTMENTS AND WHEN YOU CALL THEY TELL YOU SORRY BUT EVERYONE IS COLD YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT THE MODEL THEY SHOW YOU IS NOTHING LIKE THE APARTMENT YOU GET BATHROOM GET CLOGGED ALL THE TIME THERE BUGS EVERYWHERE NO MATTER THE TIME OF THE YEAR BELIEVE WHAT EVERYONE TELLS YOU ON THESE REVIEWS EVERYTHING IS TRUE
DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. APARTMENTS are very very dirty.I have a major issue with Bathroom Basin which was present even before we moved in this apartment, maintenance staff did not treat it well before we move in and that keep on recurringafter we started staying there. So maintenance guy came in and he removed basin and cabinet and there is very big hole in Wall but he is not ready to fix it because many roaches came out from that hole.Roaches coming out from Wall and broken floor is not any tenants fault but surely and solely apartment maintenance did not keep it clean. Its been now 2 weeks apartment is like that and water is clogging and coming out from kitchen basin also, but maintenance staff is notIt is very unhealthy and unhygienic and dangerous to stay with 2 kids here with that big hole in wall and roaches in apartment.Very impolite behavior by Maintenance staff and not at all co-operative.DO NOT MOVE IN HERE.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The rent raises every year which was stipulated in our lease. HOWEVER- there would be the expectation that things would improve since I am paying more and more to live here each year. Ive been here for about 3 years and things just continue to get worse. There is NEVER a laundry room that is available. They are either full or half of the machines dont work or the room is closed all together. So you mind as well just spend the extra money to send your clothes out to get done or to the laundry mat. I have asked NUMEROUS times for the heat to be turned down in my apartment because I should be sweating all through winter. I just keep being told no by maintenance. Oh and maintenance is incompetent- be prepared to take a day off work if you need anything fixed because god forbid they work during hours that other people are actually home not 8-4. Emergency responses dont include when you have no working water or cant shower- so thats nice. The entire staff in the leasing office is so unbelievably RUDE! its unreal.
I have lived in Richfield Village Apartments for eight years, and have had only positive experiences. Whenever I need some maintenance work done on the apartment, I call Olga at the maintenance office and she ensures that the work is done promptly. Also - the work is always done professionally and by some of the nicest people I have ever met! Thanks to Olga and the entire group at Richfield Village Maintenance!
Every winter there is the same issue with heat. They crank it up to 90 plus degrees. Last year called maintenance and at first they said they cannot adjust the intensity. Finally they said they would look at into it and were able to turn it down... until the next time. Called about this 1 day ago. No call back yet. Have to run air conditioning and fans to sleep comfortably at night (in winter) even though it increases our electricity bill.A lot of things I like about the complex but I dont know if I can spend another winter here.
We were very excited when we got a call back stating that the 2 bd apartment we applied for was ours if we wanted it. Come to find out that we would not be able to actually see the apartment until MOVE IN DAY. what kind of crazy person moves into an apartment with out seeing it. First they tell me you can see it feb 28 when the people who are occupying leave. Than when I go pick up my “good faith” deposit which was $500 not including the $50 application fee ($25 per applicant.) She tells me that no, I wouldn’t be able to view it until move in day. I understand people are still living in the apartment but that is why you make appointments to view it. But to move in with out seeing the apartment before hand is RIDICULOUS. THANK GOODNESS I READ THE REVIEWS. I DODGED A BULLET. The area is nice, there are stores & whatever the case may be but honestly $1525 for a 650 sq ft apartment is excessive. Especially if the reviews are saying that there is MOLD, THE WASHING MACHINES ARE DIRTY, AND THEY TAKE FOREVER TO FIX SOMETHING. NOPE. BYE. Also found out from someone who did work on those apartments a little while ago that they have roaches. May not necessarily be their issue but if that’s the kind of Dirty people that live there than YUCK . Good luck to who ever moves in. Maybe they will get their act together.
I have lived at Richfield Village Apartments for over 10 years and have been very happy. The staff in the management office has always been professional and courteous. I have been able to bring any concerns that I have to Juana and she has been more then accommodating and gracious. I look forward to many more years of residency at Richfield Village Apartments
Horrendous place to live. Laundry rooms are absolutely disgusting, and they dont allow you to put your own washer/dryer machine in your apartment so they can make more money off of you. Wooden floor in my room is starting to crack open. Took them more than a year to fix a 6 foot crack in my wall. There was 2 of the most disgusting bugs Ive ever seen in my whole life in my ROOM the size of my thumb. They sent an exterminator that did nothing. Last week water was leaking out of the heaters. Heat is horrible and you have no control over it. Im always freezing when the weather is below 40 because the heat cant keep up with the weather, causing me to always wake up sick. Something was wrong with my door lock and it wouldnt open, I left the maintenance department a message over an hour ago and they still didnt get back. I couldnt even get into my apartment. Theyre so quick to collect your rent and charge you late fees but when you contact maintenance you can never get a hold of them. They simply dont care about their tenants, horrible management. I do not recommend anyone to move into this apartment complex.
My apartment was very clean and everything was in a good condition. Very thankful of our landlord, Lidia Gerges. She was always helpful throughout my one year of staying at Richfield Village. Enjoyed my experience overall. Thanks again!
I have lived in this place for 2 years and i loved this safe, clean and friendly neighborhood.
Maintenance is the worst. There is no hot water in my apartment for the past two days and whenever I call the maintenance they never give me any answer. The Lady in the maintenance is rude and hung up the phone even before I finish speaking. The temperature is 4 c for Gods sake and I am forced to use ice cold water. They said they were repairing the boiler room and still no hot water. The maintenance never comes promptly even in the case of emergency. Toilets get stocked up every month and the staffs come so late only after repeated calling. Two days without hot water and the lady doesnt even have the courtesy to feel bad for us instead she spoke rude and hung up the phone. Could not wait to get out of the apartment. It gets so hot during the night and literally it feels like suffocating in the bedroom. The water needs to be hot and the room needs to be mild but it is always the opposite. The internet connection breaks often too. Often the cable gets cut and it takes weeks to repair. The paint is peeling all over the wall. I took photos and informed main office but they did not respond properly.the apartment looks nothing like in the photos and they charge a hefty amount from your security deposit when moving out for refinishing a bathtub. That is to paint the bathtub again which chips within a week.
Valdrin G and Loius M Are the best staff on the maintenance team . They get five stars ✨They dropped everything they were doing to accommodate my needs every time I had an emergency. I just wouldn’t live in these apartments if you have small children because the banging of the pipes is so loud with the heater always blasting.😔 I would feel awful if i wasn’t honest with families who have small children.
Please read if you want to know the GOOD and BAD about this place because I am going to be completely honest. Heres the GOOD: the community is super quiet and I barely heard my neighbors. I may have just got lucky in the specific area I lived in but even when I walked around the neighborhood, it was always quiet. I also saw little to no pests in my apartment. Even spiders, I barely saw them. One summer, however, I had a minor ant problem in my living room but it was resolved quickly with ant traps. Heres the BAD: there is no assigned parking so it is almost like a war just to find a parking space. Especially if you try to find a parking spot after 9pm. Forget about it. You will have to park in a nearby neighborhood. Another frustrating thing is that it seems like no one ever leaves their apartments after 7pm so you most definitely cant steal a spot if you wanted to. Richfield is home to many homebodies so if you have a big social life and youre normally out really late, you will rarely find a parking spot near your apartment. Also, if you work in NYC, GPS may tell you it takes 35 mins to get into the city but in reality, there is always traffic so it is more like an hour on public transportation. Appliances in the apartment are outdated. The showers are old and there is a lot of rust. You cannot control your heat so once its on, you cant turn it off. Normally Richfield turns the heat on in October until mid-Spring but by mid-Spring, it is hot outside so it can be very uncomfortable. There are only AC units in the living room and bedroom windows that dont work very well so the heat inside the apartment continues well into the Summer. The office staff can be impatient and rude. They come off really short and uninterested in resident issues. The maintenance staff isn’t very responsive to issues unless you’re on top of them. I lived there for two years (only stayed for an extra year because I couldn’t find another place in time) and rent increased in year 2, which was expected but it would have been nice to have improvements to my living experience with the rent increase. Also, not sure why Richfield would increase its rent considering there are no big unique aspects with living there. Despite giving it 3 stars, I would recommend people to look elsewhere before settling for Richfield. Even though it has its perks, I think there is more out there for a similar price.
Maintenance never responds in timely matter... do not move here!
I love living here! But Jesus can you turn the heat down a little 😫😫😫. I’m dying slowly........ I understand the requirements from October 1 until May 1. But I’m sweating in myseep 😫only compliant I have.
The heat works on loops. The hot water is working on loops. The last snow storm they didnt clean the snow until you complain. Nothing worth it here. They just try to save money on you with any way they can. And the funny part is that they raise the rent. Raise for what for God sake. They dont even have a kids play ground.Common guys we are not asking for water pool or gym. Its only a small kids play ground where they can play and have fun safe. May be they didnt realize that yet and waiting for some family to ask. Hahaha
Max from maintenance is a great plumber. Works and addresses issues professionally and gets the fix done very promptly. Also he is courteous in all his interactions.
You will be surprised how bad things here, sometimes I think people who manage the village belongs to the stone ages or had some special approach by making residents experience horrible, who knows what they are thinking of and why. I would start from the leasing office were you will have three ladies who had no skills at all and the least competent, they would avoid any request by either making it impossible to handle or refer the customer to a different person which offers no progress, so if I have something to discuss with them there is no tracking from there end, and no way to get a response within a week or two, I have to wait for months to end up with a NO without an explanation. Rent increase is not justifiable at all with the horrible service they had, they should think about a rent decrease, that is an advice for the management. Maintenance have an attitude and yelled at people several times with no reason, Ive seen lowlife people but they tend to look professional during working hours or when they deal with their customers, basically, to keep their source of income, with these guys the situation is different, they would show residents the worst treatment ever, sometimes I feel guilty for calling them, and I just keep wondering, if someone cant handle answering a phone call why they answer it? or if they just stay at home and make it peaceful for everyone. Trash, trash, and more trash all over the place, dog poops outside, and no one care about removing it. Mold problems in the bathrooms, they dont even bother to check, they consider it the tenant responsibility. The maintenance superintendent has no communication skills, the only word he knows is NO, I would not blame him the whole place is miserable, so he is just trying to blend in. I really feel bad to send them a check at the beginning of each month, my only remorselessness is I am moving at the beginning of next year when my lease ends. Finally, I would like to tell you if you want to rent in the same area, mind your business somewhere else, it is doomed here.
Horrible place. They make you give them 500 dollars to apply even when they dont have an apartment for you. Then they have hidden feeds. Like 800 dollars per year for insurance. No other place it cost that much. lastly they force you to move in on earlier dates, even when you tell them that that means that you will have to pay double rent(for the current place and their place). Stay away from this place at all cost.
Stay away. Aside from their questionable practices ($500 “good faith” deposit to get on a wait list that is not placed into an escrow account), and not allowing you to view the property until move-in day when you have already signed the lease, the property manager is incapable of even the basics. On move-in day, the apartment I was given had water damage in every room, dead bugs on the counter, warped kitchen and bathroom cabinets, mold, deep scratches in the floor, bowed windows, and additional indicators that the foundation was sinking. The manager said that they would have the place fixed in a week and that he would notify me. Two weeks had passed and I received no word. I had to press to have the situation rectified and they still have yet to fully compensate me for my financial losses as a result.Completely unprofessional, and utterly unacceptable.
I am living in Richfield village apartments for 4 months now, I really like it, neighbors are nice, the apartment is very clean, I rented it even before I saw it, and I found it exactly as expected. Customer service was amazing, especially Ligia, she was available for any of my questions and concerns, and she made my transition very smooth. She was very nice and trustworthy.I totally recommend Richfield Village Apartments.
I lived in Richfield Village from 1994 to 1997. Water ran down my bedroom wall the whole time I lived there. They kept saying that they took care of it, but never did. They had one of our cars towed away because the inspection sticker was expired. The salvage yard that was trying to get money from us or at least surrender title so they could resell it. We refused. It turns out maintenance and the salvage yard were going around and towing cars that they thought they could make a buck out of. They didnt get ONE RED CENT from us. We let them have the car, with NO title. So....we moved and did NOT pay the last months rent...funny, they NEVER came after us for anything. Dont know how things are going there now, but we had a HORRIBLE experience at Richfield and would NOT recommend living here to my worst enemy!
Ive lived at Richfield Apts for ten years now and find the place to be a serene, secure environment. Any time I have a maintenance problem, somebody is there to fix it in a reasonable amount of time after I report it. The maintenance employees are all pleasant and efficient at their work when they enter my apartment. Dave, in particular, has shown himself to be extremely knowledgeable, reliable and friendly in all matters related to the experience of living here over the years. Id also like to mention Adrian, who patrols the grounds constantly in his duties. He is not only a good worker and kind, but his mere presence is a great security measure for all the residences... makes us feel safe to see him driving around the area all day, every day.
I lived here for 4 years and recently bought a house so moved out. The experience I have had here can not be compared. It was such a pleasant time I have spent here. Great neighborhood with diversity and happy people. Property management is also great, I have never had any inconvenience. Ligia from the office is the best. She signed me up 4 years ago and she helped me with everything else since then. She is really there to listen to your issues and to help you resolve. She would take your requests to the management and try to accommodate them. Ligia is the best.
Lived here over a year now. First 6 months were great, even despite the DESPICABLE snow removal crew who NEVER does a good job. Especially after this most recent storm. They plowed some paths through the grass and not even all of the walkways. I’m just waiting to see how disgusting the grass in the courtyard looks all spring and summer now, maybe they ACTUALLY will plant new grass. But my BIGGEST issue is maintenance. I have had extreme anxiety over bugs in my apartment. They started around 4 months ago when a new tenant moved in under me. The number has aggressively progressed despite my attempt to set traps and keep all things extremely clean at all times. No matter what I do the bugs will not go away.I requested the exterminator come and he actually made me cry. Besides the fact that he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BESIDES PLACE RIDICULOUS RANDOM STICKY TRAPS (useless) and continued to belittle me and tell me he sees no evidence of bugs and he’s been doing this a long time while rolling his eyes. All as if I was making it all up! (Meanwhile, Im not a baby when it comes to bugs and dealt with it for months before even contacted maintenance!) When I told maintenance they did NOTHING about it.Every time I do dishes, use bathroom, shower, come home or wake up and turn the lights on, my heart races while I tip toe into each room to scan over the room to make sure there’s nothing crawling by my feet or crawling up my walls, etc.I have now spent HUNDREDS of dollars trying to solve this myself, since clearly this place is incapable, but it still has not changed. It’s so frustrating and quite frankly DISGUSTING
There is no hot water in the apartment, and the issue is very persistent from last few weeks. Tickets get open from Richfield village apartments app and are closed with no resolution. Phone calls and voice mails go unanswered. People in the community if you are having the same issue would you like to go together to the city office for complaints? Let us know. Very unprofessional service.
My stay at Richfield has been nothing short of a nightmare. I honestly regret moving here and would seriously advise against living here. The online billing system has been horrendous! Charging my fiancé and I twice for one months rent. Juana was the only person who actively tried to help us rectify the situation. There is chipping paint in our bathtub besides being fixed by maintenance at move-in and once more after that. Also, were experiencing a pest problem since the heat has been turned on in our apartment. We are finding gnats, both alive and dead, all around the house. We have no idea how they are getting in, as we keep the windows shut. I cannot wait until my lease is up, I will not be renewing!
Nice place to stay. Anne at the reception is very professional and helpful. Location is close to supermarkets, pharmacy and cafe. Also it is only a short walk to a bus station to NYC. Overall OK, except for the heat in Winter which you cannot regulate.
** I HAVE NOT lived in this apartment but I just want to share my experience with the leasing office. We decided to take a look at the apartment and booked an appointment. When we showed up the person in the office did not even bother to show us the apartment. She was very rude and it felt like we are not welcome at all. I am not exactly sure what was the reason. We still went ahead and took a look at the apartment and we actually liked it. We submitted an application and a non refundable fee of $50 and a $500 good faith deposit to process the application. She said that they will do a credit check and let me know the decision. After a couple of days she called and said my application was rejected and did not give any reason. I said that I have a credit score of 750 and just wanted to know why they rejected it. She was just rude again and gave another number to contact. It was the screening agency and they said it got rejected because I do not have a established credit history of 7 Years.I told I have been in this country only for 4 years and there is no way I can have it. They said there is no chance to approve. I called the leasing office again and she just asked me to come and collect the $500 check and was not even ready to mail that back. Now again, I am new and I have not seen this 7 year credit rule anywhere so far but at least they could have said that up front or at least I wish they spoke nice. On the whole, it was a woeful experience and just a waste of time.
Linda from the maintenance office continues to be very friendly over the phone and always listens to my needs and concerns related to the needs of my apartment. She is efficient and prompt with dispatching staff to my apartment to rectify any complications that arise. She makes undesirable circumstances tolerable knowing she will help fix them.Carl from maintenance was a pleasure to have in my apartment. He was pleasant and friendly. He cleaned up after himself and was a joy to interact with while he was tending to repairs in my apartment. Excellent service and very knowledgeable.
