Doug is a computer wizard...FAST and realistically priced! He bailed me out a second time last week, when the motherboard died, I was back up-and-running with a new machine within a couple days...absolutely NO lost data!!! I would not think of going anywhere else... THE BEST!

I was told my repair was extremely difficult to do and would take a week for a price of over $200. It took me 5 minutes of Google and 3 minutes to fix my issue.Actually, Id like to thank the guy. if hed asked $50 bucks I would have agreed. So thanks for the overestimate!

I went in today with a small technical question about hardware, Id broken something taking my laptop apart. Not only was the staff extremely polite and helpful, despite my problem being one they were unable to fix (Id torn the connector off the motherboard entirely, theres nothing anyone could do at that point), and with absolutely no point for them to profit from the interaction, they helped me. Both the owner and one of his employees talked with me, showed me how to avoid the issue in the future, and were extremely welcoming. I havent had any financial engagement with them, but I know that if there comes a time I need the services they provide theyd be the absolute first place I turn to.

On a Saturday morning, our desktop computer failed. We called Doug (owner and local radio personality) on the phone to find out if he could get a look at it, that day.It was important to get the diagnosis done that day, as we had plans for the afternoon with family and the computer is an absolute necessity for work (on Monday). Both my wife and I spoke with him at separate times, and he assured us that he could find out what was wrong, on Saturday. I expressed, several times, the necessity to have the need to have the problem diagnosed and agreed to the $49 fee. I felt pretty strongly that it was a component (power supply, motherboard, maybe memory) as the computer is fairly new and was functioning properly the day before. He assured me that, barring disaster, he would have a chance to look at it.I packed it up with a plastic bag covering it (it was raining) and my wife dropped it off shop @ 12pm, again being assured that it would be diagnosed that afternoon. At 1:30, I tried to call and couldnt get through, so went to the shop. I immediately saw one of the helpers just standing around, and the computer with the same bag over it on the pool table that dominates the shop.Doug was on the phone providing instructions to someone to run a chkdsk (program to check for hard drive abnormalities) and stayed on the phone for the next five minutes while I discussed the issue with the helper. When he hung up, he explained that they just couldnt get to it and itd have to wait until Monday. I was obviously disappointed, whereupon he added that he doesnt use AMD products (which the computer in question used) because they are unreliable. I remarked that this was a funny position comment from him.Ive been to this location once before (in 2010), asking that they test a power supply using a pretty standard piece of equipment (a power supply tester, $20/tops) and the helper acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. Having spoken with the owner this morning, and having multiple assurances based on the understanding of our situation (had to have the computer up & running by Monday for work and plans for the afternoon.) I decided to give them another try on this very simple diagnostic given our time constraints. I ended up wasting hours and having to cancel plans while I drove to MicroCenter to get the necessary equipment. Thanks for nothing. We would not have brought it to him if he hadnt assured us hed be able to diagnose the problem same day; they werent terribly busy (standing around and on a pretty simple phone call) and he said as much when wed talked to him. The tools to do the diagnosis cost a grand total of $45, less than his fee, and are obviously more reliable. I should have bought them after the first experience I had with these guys. What irks me the most is that he hadnt called, wouldnt answer the phone, and (had I not showed up) likely would have had the computer until Monday, costing at least a day of productivity working from home.EDIT: it occurs to me today that the Oldies station Doug broadcasts on was broadcasting from across the street that day. Of course, Doug knew this when we talked in the first place, and probably spent some time over there during the day.
