Attended a business event, the meeting space was very nice. Food was very good. Underground parking at venue is extremely convenient.
Parts of the gym are very new and beautifully equipped. Other parts are dated and not too nice to look at, but overall the value is great. Also their food is surprisingly good and consistently well prepared.
Great club for exercise/fitness and more although the monthly membership is pricey.Great weekday happy hour on the roof deck in the summer overlooking the river and by the pool and has live music Tues and Thurs.Wish the Rooftop food service hours would extend to 7:30pm (at least 7pm) so could have dinner there.
There are barely any evening classes for folks that work during the day now. The only after work hours class used to be a yoga class which was at 8:15pm was suddenly changed to 7:30pm without warning, plus they now lock the doors when the class starts! There was No communication about why the times were changed. It used to be a better facility, it’s gradually becoming average. Management seems to be getting lazy.
Overall the club is amazing and I love all the classes it offers. I take Pilates and boxing. I also enjoy the spa and salon where I get my nails done, massages, and facials. The smoothie bar is pretty great, although there are quite a lot of sugary ingredients. Yes, the club is indeed very expensive but if you can afford it, consider joining. It’s seriously what you make of your time here that counts.
Best physical facilities in the country, actually nothing is even close. Staff is outstanding. They have done a great job reopening with covid. Grill is great quality food and reasonable.
Yesterday I returned to EBC after a year hiatus. I have always been very impressed with the quality of care and service at the club. The way they have adapted to covid is downright inspirational. This club is one of the best run hospitality businesses that I have experienced. I have been a member since 2001, Id guess that about half of their current team was there when joined. This level of tenure allows for a consistency that is special. I love east bank. If I could give them six stars I would.
Unparalleled facilities in River North. Discounted membership rates for 20 somethings, couples, spouses, and families made it accessible to my wife and I. Terrific hours (5a-10p weekdays), great staff, amazing food, and all around a total lifestyle changer...for the better.
Recently updated and looks great. Also taking a lot of covid precautions to keep guests safe. Always clean and well kept.
One of the best health club facilities in Chicago. Its huge, so no crowds and they increased air flow to ensure good air circulation. And have good cleaning regiment in place.
I enjoy walking by this place and thinking of a day I will be able to afford going there.
Best gym Ive ever been to In My Life
East Bank Club is top-notch and world class, certainly second to none in Chicago. Everything from top to bottom - service, quality, amenities, up keep, value, etc. - is superb. A special shoutout to Tierra in the Salon who is just the absolute best. Nothing but amazing things to say about this place, definitely a must join. Covid precautions were thoughtful and reasonable, but so was their promptness of alleviating mask requirements in accordance with CDC guidance. Love the EBC!!!
Its a wonderful fitness club with a great staff and amenities.
I was not sure what to expect at the East Bank Club (since it as a fitness facility). I thought .. a wedding reception at East Bank Club .. really? It was excellent!! They have a cute room next to the river and the cocktail hour is up on the roof/pool area with outstanding views of the city. Fun location and it works perfectly. Management keeps everything moving smoothly and the food is delicious!! Great place to have a reception and/or party.Ray – The Connexion Band
BEAUTIFUL FACILITY - NEW MANAGEMENT NEEDEDBEWARE IF YOU LIKE TO CYCLE- CLASSES NOT AS REPRESENTEDA beautiful cycling facility. There are limited classes, offered at odd times, screen wen DOWN TEN MINUTES INTO THE CLASS WITH A CLASS FULL OF PEOPLE FOUR
Great staff, incredible views! Very clean
East bank club used to be nice facility, I was a member for last 7 years or so. It got to be bad with pandemic. Club since reopening- in July 2020 had been providing only 10% of services I use. Who wants to be bothered with trying to sign up for group classes and swim pool- not me. Spa services not what I use, sauna closed so on. So I was using their cardio machines and weight lifting onlyI had discussed several time with member services the fact that it is expensive membership and should decrease to 10% oof current in order to members payy for services that actually they provide. All the times I heard that other services will be brought back soon.Tired of waiting, I went to small boutique personal trainers gym by me. And ordered Peleton. Sorry East bank owner, other members will be leaving soon too- who wants to pay over 200$ for privilege of using machines and doing virtual classes?. Businesses got to be connected to reality!
I’m 73 years old and have have belonged to health and country clubs most of my adult life. The EBC is, without question, above all the rest. Not only are the facilities and equipment more and far superior in quality, they continue to always update and improve the club.Special mention must be given to the management team and employees. They are always friendly, polite and very responsive to all members. If you want to be a member at the finest health, exercise club in the country join the EBC.
I love East Bank Club. The gym and amenities are amazing. It is worth the price if you take advantage of everything you can! The selling point for me was Spin and Yoga classes being included in monthly fees.
Beautiful health club that genuinely cares about members and employees. This club has just about everything if not everything to offer. Great services, Great atmosphere and most of all clean and safe place
Chicago’s best health club in our opinion.
My wife and I have been members for about a year now. We LOVE East Bank for the tennis, the facilities, and amazing variety of classes. Recently, they have definitely lead the charge for other clubs reopening during COVID-19. The management team is clear and concise with new guidelines, and they seem to be common sense practices. Great Work!
My family and I were members of this club for over a decade. The club has everything you need, but with a recent management change, I felt the overall quality (especially the member service) got declined. It seems there were growing number of annoying non members (I could see that by how they behave.). Swimming pools were not as clean as before. Many of the good swim (and tennis) coaches for kids left. They got rid of two of the tennis courts, leaving members hard to book a court on the time they want. I still tried to like the club since I was going there for many years. When the Covid-19 started, they gave all the members two options to keep the account. So I chose one without paying any monthly fees, but they completely ignored my emails so far, and kept charging my account for two months. Then recently I found out that they had just canceled my account. If they treat 10 years old memeber this way, there is no reason I stay with them. Maybe it is just that they dont want me and my family to be there. Or they just dont care. Either way I am not going back to this once-wonderful club. So sad things can deteriorate this fast.
Im not a member but Im there every Tuesday and Thursday for classes with the kids I nanny. Great tennis coaches and swim teachers! All very knowledgeable and great work kids. Customer service over all is awesome!
Great facility, super helpful staff. Come to this place and you will certainly be pampered. I can literally come and spend an entire day here. They have everything you need to not ever want to leave. Only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is due to some homosexual activities I’ve walked into a few times in the men’s hot tub area. Other than that I love love lovvvvve this place
Solid gym that is very much a spa, etc. Always clean with great equipment that is well maintained.
My family has been going to this club since 8 years ago and its truly the best/ top notch gym ever! They have hundreds of free / low cost exercise programs for all ages from 0 to 100. When you think about all these benefits, around $400 monthly fee for whole family is worthy every penny. There are too many good things to mention, so I recommend to check out their website or have a tour. BEST Gym/Club for families or everybody.
A fantastic club. The most amazing amenities, huge rooms and tons of equipment. So many floors to work out and stretch that you never feel crowded. The locker room is massive and has two steam rooms, saunas, many showers.Restaurants, retail, hair salon, convenience store... you name it.Absolutely recommended.
This is not a health club - its a country club. Great 1/4 mile rack with nice window views of river and city. Multiple basketball courts (and plenty of balls so you dont need to bring your own), Seven indoor tennis courts! One of the few clubs in the city with squash courts. Very nice pools indoors and out with huge sundeck on roof. Great food options, excellent locker room with several TVs and clean spacious showers. Very diverse age range, and just a great atmosphere. Its more money than most clubs, but is an incredible value when you consider everything you get.

I just need my bed to wanna live in this place. Best time pamper myself and also having fun with live groups and great food! Strongly recommend this place!
Get a pass from your hotel several have them. Lay by the pool, work out and eat excellent food. Sexy women and hot bodies all over the place. Enjoy I was a member there when I lived there worth a visit for sure.
Search no more - this is the best gym/ health club will ever find! Sad to leave EBC but only doing it because I’m moving. They have everything you need -lifting area, endless cardio machines, several pools, several courts of multiple sports, outdoor track, multiple restaurants, sauna, steam, hot tub. You name it! Also very kind and helpful staff.
None of the Cafe or restaurant food is organic. If you wanted tofu for example you get gmo tofu with Roundup pesticides. Their chicken is not free range nor organic and their meats are not from grass fed cows. Is this really a health club?
East Bank Club is probably the most iconic gym in Chicago. The facilities are amazing -- borderline absurd at times (there are four pools!?!?). The sauna and steam rooms are a great way to relax after a workout. They are also always renovating and upgrading various parts of the club, so things continue to get better and better. There is an indoor 1/4 mile track with a great view of the city, which I really enjoy. My only complaint is at peak hours it can get very busy. Overall an awesome gym and Ill happily continue to be a member!
Poor management and ownership. Only worrying about the money in their pocket and not the great people that work there and are the face of the club. Layoffs happening and the club is headed for disaster.
This is the place to be if you want to meet the hottest gold diggers and Chicagos finest strippers and bottle girls. If youre married and looking to trade up to a newer younger model come by and bring your tax returns and theyll tell you what you qualify for.Be prepared and ready to strut around like a peacock for attention though. You must talk loudly about your sports cars and boats to get any attention. The weights are okay if thats what youre looking for.
Quite a remarkable place, literally something for everyone. Weights, classes, tennis, golf, pools, dry cleaning... A few modernizing updates would be terrific: more consistent wifi club-wide, an app vs just a mobile site so you could get rid of your ID card, and wider walkways/stairways are a few small things that would make a big difference.
The East Bank Club is a great place to work out! It has SO MANY work out facilities! You honestly could live there your whole life and not even leave that building! I wish all my friends had memberships so we could hang out there. Also, the couches are incredibly comfortable :)
This place is incredible. Being outside on the sun deck on a nice day surrounded by such a picturesque city is difficult to describe. The staff is warm and welcoming. The food is quite dependable as well. Always look forward to spending my days at EBC.
Another disappointment with the hair salon. After paying high price for the service you expect to leave the salon happy and confident.
This place is great has everything you could ever want in a gym! I can golf, have my car washed and clothes dry cleaned.
It would be so great to have one in the suburbs. Western subs - Du page
The best of the best. We were hesitant to join because it is not inexpensive but it truly makes you want to be there. The service and facilities are top notch. We love the pools, there are always machines available, we also love spending time at the grill or in the business center. In addition, the spa and salon are so convenient and great. Also had a tremendous experience with Ian, the Aquatics Director during an open swim clinic in preparation for the chicago tri. He was so knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Would strongly recommend anyone work with him if they are looking to improve their swimming.
I attended an event there and the staff was amazing. Very helpful and great hospitality. I would recommend this place for any of your company or personal events! Awesome Staff!
Best health club in the city. 400+ machines in the cardio room create an energetic vibe few can match. The difference of working out here vs. other gyms is like the difference of watching a game at the stadium vs on TV.
Beware - raised prices of membership after the new year without any warning. They continue to raise prices and have the audacity to ask for donations for holiday party...
Been here for quite a few years and really enjoy the facility. Staff and trainers are really nice too. The only complaint is the very pretentious members who all are very important. If you want to work out, be a little social, this is the place to go in Chicago, but remember; the pool is not vegas in the summer so leave the high heels and skimpy swim suits at home!
I love the yoga classes, different type of classes and energetic instructors.
Very big and comfortable, my friends said they met Oprah and Michael Jordan here. Excellent classes. You can do everything including basketball, tennis, swimming(in door, outdoor), dancing, not to mention regular working out.
This gym is my guilty pleasure. I call it a cruise ship on land! I honestly go there and dont feel like i am in downtown Chicago. It is my escape from the busy world and I love it. People may judge because it is an $ monthly fee, but it is well worth it. If you go 4 times a week it is the same price of being a member of a yoga studio + you get the benefits of all of the gym. My one piece of advice is not to charge money on your membership card for food etc. Just pay as you go!
I have been a member of EBC for about a year and have found this to be one of the best facilities in town. The personal service is amazing. The trainers know thier stuff too. Best to go here midday because night get crowded. Lots of cardio equipment and free weights. My favorite gym in Chicago by far.
My dad has been going here weekly for over 25 years now. I’ve been able to come and be a guest a couple of times and it’s absolutely wonderful.
This place is incredible. The service is top notch, and the food is absolutely delicious. Best gym experience in the world!
Really great place to hang out for the day. Love the roof top pool. Great with a large or small group. Food is really really good.
Amazing restaurant open to the public. A hidden gem in the middle of the city.
EBC is an amazing one stop shop to fill all your work out needs. Huge facility and Ive never had to wait for a machine. The locker rooms are great, really love the steam rooms too!
Good food. Friendly service.
Locker rooms are always in top shape. The equipment here is state of the art. Way to step up from last year so heres your review 💪🏻
Such a nice atmosphere in there. The cost to apply is alright but its always worth it. One of the best gyms in Chicago
Outstanding gym Downtown. Facilities that cater for every need, outstanding equipment and pools, professional staff. Hard to ask for more!
This is a great place but things are starting to show their age. Things are outdated. Sometimes, members are not friendly. Midtown Athletic Club has many modern ammenties. I am considering switching to them. Both are expensive though.
I always have a great experience going to East Bank Club! Machines are always available. Locker rooms are fully equipped!
The best club, and most amazing staff in the city
Great fitness center that is more... requires membership. Offers gym facility, classes, small grocery store, restaurant, spa, car wash, daycare, indoor track, various courts and swimming pools.
Love east bank clubs restaurants and amenities!
The gold standard. Never experienced anything of the sort. Not cheap, but you can spend hours there at a time.
The spin/cycle class bikes are falling apart and just plain outdated.Members are rude, not friendly to each other.Sunday stretch has a bouncer person outside to prevent fights as people shove each other to get in first. Come on. Put another class on the morning schedule.People change tv channels in the tv room without even asking if others are watching.Farts during stretch and yoga.Great instructors though, and huge warm space.PLEASE REPLACE BROKEN SPIN CLASS BIKES THAT WOBBLE OR DONT EVEN ADJUST!!!!
I have been a member of this club for multiple years, I love it and use it almost every day.
You can frequently find Dylan Andrews lurking around this area. Solid atmosphere.
This is the best place to exercise and socialize in the heart of the city. The pool is the best in the summer and the restaurants are fantastic
Been a member for a year now. Moved from Equinox and it is hands down the best gym in Chicago.
Not quite five stars at the moment for us weekend users.,, but I expect it will be again shortly. What makes this club great is that you can drop -in for classes on your schedule., and there are a lot of classes. But East Bank needs FIX THE SCHEDULING to ^correspond* to member use. This does NOT require a build-out or more equipmentEastbank JUST needs schedule to add more classes at popular times - This worked for overcrowding in the past. But they did not implement it lately. The Sat and Sunday wait list is a buzz kill and probably not necessary with a slight schedule fix.For example, cycle Classes are NOW 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30 g on Sat.Please ... do classes **on the hour instead of the half hour** to squeeze one more in. -- ie cycle lasses at 7:00, 8:00. 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 (and keep the late day ride for Sat plus one on Sunday)Your data tells you, East Bank, LARGE group of members wants to sleep in and want to be done early Sat The people coming at 8:30 will naturally split into two groups. This has worked for EB in the past, correct??Same thing with the studio classes...PLEASE -- jlook at these classes and just squeeze one more in, by starting on the hour .Thank you!!
Held a membership 17 years b4 leaving Chicago. It is the best of the best!
I use East Bank to get breakfast in the morning as I park in the lot. Great staff
Great gym with outdoor pool that is open even in end November!
Best gym in the city, even better pool scene. Food is also excellent, but come for the people watching :)
I love East Bank Club. They have great service and work out facilities. The pool is great in the summer!
Was a member years ago & was a great all around facility. Excellent equipment & knowledgable staff.
Best club in town. has everything you can want and more.. workout, eat, relax, see friends!
Very clean place. They have a lot of fun activities that you could do there!!! Its a little bit expensive, but worth it.
Outstanding facility, perhaps the best out there. Clean. Comfortable.
Why I joined: I loved the interior architecture, the Art all over that shows many Chicago Artists at the Active Figure finest and funniest (the Trying guys above Maxwells Bar!) the members & guests who actually wear the clothes one sees in shops, the food that is deeelishus and good for you, and after 9 membership years, the intelligence of the interior spaces...the thoughfully chosen materials, division of spaces, furniture, just get more of my admiration. These are important environmental reasons that envelope the person and make me feel better before I even exercise. I can vacation 365 days a year @ the EBC Resort !
Eastbank is basically an indoor country club, its way more than a gym. The club is amazing, the facilities are amazing and there are a lot of great classes to choose from but I deducted two stars because its ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that the best and most modern styles of workout classes are not included in the already extortionately high member fees. That is just cheeky beyond belief. For example Equinox and Lakeshore both offer Tabata classes for free whilst Eastbank charges members extra for them. (Also all the toiletry products on offer at Equinox are super high end, whilst Eastbanks are nameless generics).
Great club. More than just a gym.
This place litty.
Possibly the nicest health club Ive ever been to... anywhere in the world.
Just joined nice facility pretty crowded at times
I hosted a chairty event here in may. The service and food were awesome. Highly reccomend for all servie=ces
Best club in the city hands down
Anddddd now I’m broke.
All in one indoor paradise of health and recuperation
20,000 members cant be wrong.
Insane health club that has everything. Unlimited classes
Although its the only gym ive gone to, its my favorite one (:
