Equipment, price, etc. is fine. The fact that half of the members dont wear masks or wear them incorrectly is troubling. Ground zero for COVID. The Mask mandate never enforced by staff once members are past the front desk check-in. So if you want to remember the good old days pre-COVID when nobody wore a mask, I suggest you stop by. If you want to join a club with smarter and more considerate members and a staff that enforces public safety, Id suggest another club.

There are so many other places to take your business, and please do so! I signed up for a membership here with Sam, and it was the worst experience. The front desk gentleman told me they only had one membership, then Sam told me they had one below it, and finally I realized there are actually a few tiers. After Sam signed me up for the wrong tier, I went back immediately and confirmed the appropriate tier I was interested in. He said he’d “take care of it” and scribbled something on a piece of paper. I assumed he knew what he was doing so didn’t follow up.Come to find out that he had actually added a SECOND membership to my name (obviously to try and hit his target) and I was being double charged the enrollment fee, membership fee and every other fee associated. Eventually Matt (I think is his name) had helped me finally figure it out, I though.Turns out they can only message “corporate” through what looks like a 1994 messaging platform. I called to cancel my membership after a month and what do you know, I have two cancellation charges. Ash was very responsive at first but he has gone silent so clear to say….This place is a NIGHTMARE.

It was good in variety of equipment but some of the machines where not working well like the reverse pec deck. One side was noticeably heavier then the other. Also some of the members take multiple dumbbells and not let others use them.

Decent when I went in the morning, didn’t have to wait too much for equipment. Generally nice first visit. The charged me for a year subscription but it’s since been resolved. Would be dope with more spa options.

It’s a good gym to get your workout on and go

This place is pretty gross. Carpets look dirty no one cleans equipment. People hang out and eat fast food in the lobby. They cannot keep personal trainers so if you buy sessions expect to have 2 or 3 trainers. Trainers are not well trained either... kind of go with the flow of whatever is available or whatever floats their boat. No actual legit plan to help you meet your goals. If I could do it again I would go down the street to FFC or if I didnt want to spend the money and have the same quality of gym I would sign up at planet fitness. I dont really leave bad reviews but have been coming here for almost 3 months; what I share on this review is very consistent every day Im there. The mornings seem to be a bit better, though. Cant wait for my contract to be over... I will be running back to Chicago Athletic Club. Do not recommend Xsport.

I signed up for my brother and later he won’t me to cancel the payment I went to cancel the payment . They are saying since I didn’t cancel it with 3 days I need to callCorporate in order to get my money . I try to all corporate but their lines are busy. They need to let customers no they have 3 days to cancel a plan which in my case they didn’t tell me . I would like to no is there any other way I could get my money back .

Broken equipment. Staff are rude. Locker rooms are dirty. They secretly add fees to your account by “mistake” but there are enough reviews here mentioning that. It’s pretty clear that the erroneous fees aren’t a bug; they’re a feature. They lure you in with low prices, and then hope you don’t read your credit card bill closely.

Minus one star, most of the work out machines don’t work at all!!! I thought that everything is gonna be in perfect condition because of the area but it’s worst!!! I rather go to Lyons!!

I should say this is the best sports complex ever. Everyone is trying to pump iron and get narley ripped. I like it! Across the board, I love it!

Too pushy with the personal training, told them I will let them know if I do want it, but they kept pushing it asking “so when do you want it” as if I’ve already agreed to it. This isn’t just once or twice but maybe 3-4 times already. I was really starting to like the gym however the workers made me feel uncomfortable coming here. They were all standing in front of me waiting for me to respond. It is extremely rude and unethical by making customers feel bad by not doing any personal training. Don’t get me wrong, the gym here is nice, just extremely unprofessional workers here. Sometimes it smells really bad upstairs too.I like to lift weights and they have a ton to offer, also the pool is usually empty as well. these are some pros.

Yesterday was my first day in XSports at said location. I did a walk through.... all the staff except one was professional. I signed up over the ph. The rep who signed me up answered yes to my question only to find out it wasnt supposed to be a yes. I asked if you needed a key to gain entry into the building, he said yes. I asked if he was certain - he stated unequivocally, yes. Upon arrival, I told Isaiah of my ph call and purchased a lock on to find out, this location isnt as I expected. To gain entry, you can get into the door than swipe a card, but not a security card to enter door because staff are present 24/7 at front desk.

Kinda disappointed, first time paying for a personal trainer and she never replied back to reschedule. Just stick to reg membership. Trainers here aren’t worth the price or wasted time. Plus they won’t let u cancel so they just want 1000$ for doing absolutely nothing. Thank god for bank getting my money back.

Xsport is very annoying once the have your contact info, they will ruthlessly send texts and emails if youre not currently subscribed. If your account is active, in the facilities they will annoyingly try to sell you training. Possibly if it was much cleaner they could have more members.

I signed up for a guest pass online to try out the gym and it was offered via email and they rejected me inside and said I had to pay for a month even with proof of residence. They let my husband use his free 7-day pass right after me. I would rather walk to a further gym than ever pay for this one. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

Why the hot tub is almost always “OUT OF SERVICE” this is frustrating after working out. I’m so over this facility. Please find a solution.

Their scammers they steal money, they told me I would get a free 7 day trial in December took my card information and within three months I have been charged $900. I have sent in two letters and called several times they lie and say they don’t have me on their record but I keep getting charged and my bank won’t do anything about it. I suing and I have proof.

I cant wait to go back. This a modern upgraded gym compared to the other XSport locations. I love the Sauna, Jacuzzi and pool. Its to bad the regular sauna and the Jacuzzi are not open yet due to the pandemic. I am going to try the infrared sauna later today :)

The gym is pretty decent. There’s always some one cleaning... but the staff... not friendly at all...I think there’s like two people at the front that are decent. The rest are rude.. they don’t make you feel welcome. And are a absolutely not there to help. You say hi and they just ignore you.My thing is if you don’t like your job then quit and get a job that you don’t have to talk to people.. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ive been trying to cancel my membership and I still keep getting billed. I sent the a via letter to the address the website provides for cancellation request. I tried calling but no one ever answers. I recently got charged $138.85 last week. Not sure why that ridiculous amount!! I need Xsports to cancel my damn membership. With people losing their jobs and corporate places like Xsports don’t care they just want to take your money!

I called for simple question, “can I bring a guest here”? The front desk associate said “I don’t know”, and attempted transferred me to another employee. I was on hold for 4 min until I hung up and tried a new call. I called again and another employee said “hold on, give me 1 second” put me on hold for 7 min, picked up the phone, and hung up right away. It took the third call to get my answer to a simple question :)

State street Xsport is the best out of all that I tried out. Clean & not crowded.

If you are going to ask members to pay $50 a month to have access to your spa services why not ensure that the rooms are actually kept in clean condition. Dont promote safety & sanitation if you do not practice it! In this era you should be ashamed of your business practices at your south loop location.

Good variety of equipment and classes, though more early morning options would be appreciated. Kept relatively clean and staff is attentive. Validated parking (2 hrs daily) in garage attached to building is essential for the location and appreciated. However, I am annoyed that spa services (massages, etc.) were abruptly removed at the South Loop location and the remaining massage package I purchased now has to be used at locations that are not convenient for me.

For the price, it is a decent gym. However, there is a chronic issue with them fixing anything that is broken, whether it is broken mirrors, paper towel dispensers, machines, etc. Additionally, the managers are never upstairs to assess their staffs professionalism (wearing masks, returning weights, wiping down equipment, etc ), conditions, or customer behavior (including playing loud music on personal devices without headphones, no facemasks, not wiping down equipment, and returning equipment).

Don’t leave your items in the locker room. Mine was stolen last night, and the lock too. I called the manager this morning, and the first thing I hear from him is “ we have sign everywhere we are liable for anything loss” that’s not why I was calling for, or to get anything free. I’m calling to make sure you guys are doing your job which is to provide the guess with a secure environment, Is that too much to ask?????????

24 hours 365 days a year! You can’t beat that especially with gyms closing at 8 or opening at 5. It’s perfect for anyone with a crazy time schedule! Great selection of equipment (where I gained my gains 💪🏿💪🏿), a protein station, supplements to purchase, swimming pool, saunas, aerobics/cycling/etc classes, rock climbing, a basketball ball court, and a spa 🧖‍♂️ (barber service too). It’s plenty to do to stay active and at a great price! Check it out for yourself

Great gym for in and out work. Not the gym you would want to shower and change in. Much less step in the pool or steam room. That’s even if the steam room works. Customer service made me take 2 more stars away !!! Spa service was set up as a promotion for 30 days and subscribed obviously if not cancelled. Cancelled after 3 sessions because InfraRed Sauna was making me break out. To this day they have yet to refund me yet have the audacity to continue to contact me about Spa Deals. Again for quick workout in and out it’s great compared to other places. Other than that join another gym !!!

The gym is decent, a little dirty at times but it’s Because it gets busy the only thing that really gets on my nerves here is the staff, they just see every member as a dollar sign and are really aggressive pretty much trying to open your wallet for you to grab your credit card. They missed out on me for that so I went to pipers alley location where I was told about different discounts and gave me a better price so I signed up over there but still visit this location because it’s closer to my home.

Staff is very friendly and if you come often enough youll definitely make friends. Only problem is that during after-work hours, the free weight area is VERY busy. People arent always considerate and dont put their weights away when they finish with them. Other than that, its an XSport, you know what youre getting...

I went to this gym on 7/5/19 with my fiancé. We’re from out of town and just needed a day pass. Although it is a great gym with just about anything you could want, the front desk crew was enough to make you not want to return. As a former general manager of two gyms, if my staff operated like what we experienced, I’d had a heart attack. Your front desk staff is the face of your gym. These folks were rude and couldn’t have been less interested that we were there. No smiles, no hellos no personalities. If I lived here, I’d have no interest in becoming a member. It’s a real shame too because the gym is really nice. The owner of this gym would do well to look into some retraining with regard to customer service. Trust me. Your sales would increase.

Good thing my home club is in another location that is less crowded and in better condition. This place is a complete dump. The worse clientele ever come to this gym. People will take 4 different sets of free weights to their bench and then text. There should be two locations in the loop to balance out the crowds and chaos

Sam deserves a raise. He was super helpful when all of the other workers at XSport that I encountered were incredibly unhelpful.Sam listened and gave me options. The other workers either didn’t know what to do or told me to come during regular business hours (Mon-Fri from 9am-6pm). I have a regular job, there is no way I can do that. Thank goodness for Sam.

Generally a great gym, though it does need some improvements and to that end its getting a few renovations. The trainers and rest of the staff are fantastic, I love the workout classes and my personal trainer is the best. As a swimmer the indoor lap pool is a great asset, and the whirlpool is lovely. They have great spa and self-spa services that I use frequently. Pricing is very reasonable for membership and amenities, and theyre always doing deals.

Showers and sauna are rarely clean. Staff consistently asks for photo identification for records without proper releases. Staff inconsiderate of right to privacy. Staff would not pronounce my name correctly. The only reason this gym received 1 star is because it is 24/7

Extremely pushy sales manager. I signed up for a trial and was told I had 2 hours of parking. I was forced to tour the gym for the first 45 minutes and then was badgered for the next 20 minutes about signing up before having a chance to even try any of the equipment and stating multiple times that I would not sign up until I had experienced the gym as I have been tricked before. Tons of great equipment, however, there were almost no bottles of spray to clean off benches and the bathroom was disgusting.

If you want your credit card information stolen and have recurrent fraudulent charges after canceling then this is the gym for you.If you like getting charged cancellation fees month after you canceled and we’re given a guarantee of no fees, then call this place home!I don’t.

For the low rates this club really has it all. Currently undergoing a renovation the new locker rooms look great. The equipment is updated regularly and there is a pool, basketball court, rock climbing wall, and many other features. There is a large weight area as well as cardio and machines. Gets very busy in the afternoon but mornings are pretty consistent.

Worst gym ever they make you sign up for a membership when you come in for a free 7 day trial and then they start charging you. No towels, the floor is dirty the staff are awful. If you want to save your money then simply don’t come to this gym

Great facilities but do not allow members to have guest passes, even for a single use. Guests had to pay $20 each to workout on a day when the gym was nowhere near crowded. Would recommend another location.

I wish there were more of the bigger lockers, and there needs to be consistency of the locker monitoring. There sometimes are locks on there that are kept for up to a day.

Memberships are way overpriced. If you have a 9-5 you will not find equipment available after 5 so plan on waiting. Most of the people that come to this location are here to hang out or to hit on women. If you actually like to work out in peace take your money elsewhere.

Dont know why so many people are so upset with this place. Its a very decent gym and the price is reasonable. They have a pool which is a plus for me. It is very crowded every night but what do you expect for a gym like this. Also they staff are very friendly.

I don’t know why this gym offers a day pass. I was in Chicago for a short time, and had a month to look at gyms to work out upon being in town, and this one caught my attention because it looked like my home gym. Once I arrived, I mentioned to staff that I had filled out a day pass, I showed my ID, expecting to sign a waiver only, but their whole policy on a “day pass” is nonsense. Apparently you cannot work out unless you are sure about signing up, although I mentioned I was only in town for a couple days. I had to pay $20, of which I will most likely never use because I don’t spend a lot of time in the city, for parking. My final verdict was to not work out here. If you’re a potential member, I highly suggest looking for a better gym.

Wide variety of machines and free weights. I go in the mornings and afternoon and rarely have to wait to use a piece of equipment. Surprisingly not as busy as you would expect a downtown location to be during those times. The basketball court is never waxed or clean so you slide when playing on it. The men’s bathrooms are disgusting. I don’t know if they’ve ever cleaned the showers, sauna or steam room.

Its not a perfect gym but Im not paying for a perfect gym. Theyre open when I need them (24/7) and while some of the machines are worn I can always find one to suit my needs. Towels & soap are always available. Valuables lockers are free to use if you request a token. Location is good for me. Thumbs up.

Don’t pay for personal training here unless you’re a hot girl. Signed up for PT about a month and a half ago and got one session due to the guy constantly canceling on me. The personal trainer I had Phil canceled on me one day but I decided to work out anyway. I walk in and he’s training some girl. Where is the professionalism here? I asked for a different trainer and he canceled on me as well. Save your money or go somewhere else. Will not be returning to this gym!

Youd think that since this is a major location theyd equip it with the best of the best personnel. Sadly - that is not the case. Im lucky to even get eye contact when Im there. Generally speaking, its pretty dirty (like most of the cheap gyms). The only reason I keep coming back is because of the location and that I need a place thats open 24 hours.Best time to go is around 9:30pm (minimal crowds)
