I had messed up some paperwork and scheduling, and Dorothy (the secretary) was very helpful getting everything sorted out. Summer (hygienist) is always very gentle and informative when doing cleanings, and Dr. Diehl is knowledgeable and friendly, and has fixed some work for me that a previous dentist messed up. Highly recommend!

My review would be 1 star if it wasnt for Dr. Diehls bedside manner - hes super friendly, makes you feel comfortable, and even served our country before becoming a dentist full-time.HOWEVER, I had been going to Pure Design for about 3 years and my general impression of the place each time I went is that its a money grab. Every other visit they would charge me $30 out-of-pocket for Oral Hygiene Instruction and when I finally asked about it they explained that the dental assistant shows me how to correctly brush my teeth during my cleaning which carries an extra charge. At least let me know ahead of time and let me make the decision to opt in for the instruction or not.The final straw is when they discovered I had 5mm of gum recession and needed 2 different sessions of deep cleaning on all 4 sides of my molars. I was suspicious and declined the deep cleaning sessions and they adamantly refused to book any additional appointments with me until I accepted the deep cleaning sessions.Fast forward 6 months I went to a new dentist who said I was nowhere near the 5mm of gum recession that I was told at Dr. Diehls office - at worst I was around 3.5mm. My new dentist said I absolutely do not need deep cleaning and will be more than ok with just simple flossing.Long story short I understand that its still a business but the focus should be on whats best for the patient and not how you can make more profit. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone but if you do end up going just make sure you fully understand what procedures theyre doing and why youre being charged certain fees.

The best dentist and staff! Everyone took great care of me and talked me through what was happening from the cleaning, dentistry work to working with my insurance. They made me feel very comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

The office manager, or lady that handles billing was horrible from the beginning. She threatened to cancel my appointment even though the forms were filled out. When I told her I filled them out already she said she just didnt look yet. No apology given. Why threaten to cancel an appointment, still 48 hours out, without the correct information. Then when I arrived she couldnt be bothered to turn around to greet me. Finally when I was checking out she was extremely rude and when I asked her a question she cut me off and told me, she was just about to say that. But her answer just dismissed my question. I absolutely do not feel comfortable with her.Hygienist was amazing. Probably my favorite ever.I thought the dentist could do root canals, he cant, and Im frustrated they failed to disclose that when I mentioned why I was coming in.

Sommer is an amazing dental hygienist. Attention to detail, well mannered, and made me feel very comfortable every step of the way during my visit. I appreciated that Dr. Diehl also took the time to introduce himself and go over my dental health during my initial visit. The only thing that tarnished my experience at Pure Design Dentistry was the middle aged front desk agent. She had a slightly condescending and rude attitude. She acted annoyed when I asked questions, as if my questions were a disturbance. She made me feel as I was inconveniencing her with my questions and my rescheduling needs. She interrupted me when I was speaking, once again making me feel as if I shouldn’t be asking anything at all. DO NOT even bother troubling her with any billing issues/concerns as this seems to be one of her biggest pet peeves. Even over the phone, her attitude and mannerisms made me feel as if I was in the wrong for expressing some of my concerns. It is extremely saddening that at the end of a wonderful experience the great dental team at this establishment has to take a hit due to the lack of patience and bothersome customer service from this specific front desk agent. I’ve decided to give this dental office a second shot only because of Sommer’s great care. My only wish is that management reads and honestly takes customer’s feedback into account to correct and perfect in the areas that they are lacking.

I love that they explain everything that is being done before they do it. With this Covid precautions are very comforting to know they are trying to keep everyone safe. However I get it and trying to purify the air the room felt so cold. I suffer with a lot of arthritis in my back and my body my nose was literally cold my fingers felt ice cold. Apart from that the work that was done was fabulous quick painless fast and that’s with repairing two cavities that have come out from previous dentist from years ago! Will always HIGHLY recommend Pure design.

The dentist relied on shock value to get me to agree to having my non-impacted wisdom teeth removed. After asking the receptionist, Dorothy, to cancel the extraction appointment, she glared at me, imploring that it was necessary even though she didn’t review my case. She relied on the dentist’s word. They’re treating their practice as a business without considering that their patients may be educated on dental hygiene. One 3rd-molar-extraction turns to 4 easily. I will not be returning to this dentist.

I was unhappy with my Dentist in Chicago so I did some research and decided to give Pure Design a try since they had such positive reviews online....boy am I glad I made the change. I love how organized and efficient they are there, I filled out all my paperwork at home before I came in so I didnt have to spend too much time away from work. They also communicate the way you prefer, for me its by email and text....love it.I felt the love from the staff from the second I walked in the office. Dorothy at the front desk is fantastic and I absolutely love Karisa, who is always in a positive mood and keeps everything on track so you dont spend all day waiting in a chair! Ive been going here for almost two years now and Ive never had to wait, they get you right in....take good care of you, and then get you on your way.Dr Diehl is great, he has all brand new equipment and Ive never had a dentist spend so much time with me consulting on my teeth. You can tell he cares about his patients and he makes sure you understand everything he is doing during your procedure. If you need additional work he is very detailed with explaining what is a necessity and what can wait a bit, which is helpful if you are trying to stay within your insurance limits. The office was really nice and clean. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Diehl saw me quickly and spent a good amount of time with me. He is very personable and seems to really care about his patients. Lisa, the hygienist was fantastic and did a great job with the cleaning and explaining everything. Thank you all! I love this place. Ultra modern and comfortable with a friendly staff. I was in and out pretty quick and really liked having all of the procedures explained to me on the flat screen monitor so I knew what was going on. The Dr. was very good at explaining exactly what he was doing and making sure I was comfortable. Ive bounced around from dentist to dentist over my years in Chi, but Ill be staying at Pure Design.

This place is amazing. I just went for the first time and was blown away. Ten minutes after walking in, my x-rays were done and the Dr was walking in to give me a consultation. He takes his time and explains everything very well and is super polite and courteous. One of my favorite things about the experience is, after laying out some options for identified problems, he send in someone to do an insurance consultation with you. That what you know what each one is going to cost you out-of-pocket, and the best way to use your insurance dollars. The office, all of the equipment, and ALL of the staff are completely first class.

My first visit to Pure Design Dentistry was an excellent experience. Very clean, impressive office and exam rooms. Friendly, knowledgeable and competent staff and, of course, Dr. Deihl. State of the art equipment, like a digital camera wand that took photos displayed on a flatscreen TV, that allowed me to see first hand what the doctor saw and helped me better understand the treatment plan.All in all, a great choice for my dentist! My now-favorite dentist (if its possible to have a favorite dentist). There were no issues or referrals needed to get in as a first time customer...which seems to be rare in Chicago. The office and records are run smoothly, including being able to fill out all paperwork online before the appointment. Theyll even contact your insurance before the visit so there arent any day of surprises. Inside the office is clean, open, and high-tech. Its awesome! But the best part was the friendly staff...everyone from the front desk receptionist to the dentist himself knew my name (and history) as I walked in. Its great to feel welcome somewhere that is generally considered uncomfortable.

I am writing this sincerely so when you read it, you understand I am not an angry or heated review.As a Marketing Executive I understand the power and importance of reviews.I rated them a 1 Star because I feel like this this the type of place you come to, if you want to feel like a number and a bill. Ive come here now for a couple years, left and tried my old dentist, and then came back here.The dentist himself, and his assisting team are great. Absolutely fabulous. Thorough, fine tuned, they treat you like a human and as if they care. Its when you have to deal with the office manager, the feeling vanishes and you no longer have that cared for feeling or like you are a human being.I recently had an appointment and gave a 24 hour cancellation (honestly forgetting its 48hours), after learning the night before the morning I cancelled,I was needed for a meeting I did not schedule. I had less than 48 to cancel and being a promotion, I would never skip it. Professionals, who they serve, require a level of flexibility.I am not a cleaning only patient. I had a very planned out treatment plan requiring thousands of dollars of royalty (crowns) to be provided. Youd think they would value the business and long term treatment plan. Tonight the office manager repulsed me. I shared the sentiment with her just before I explained I was going to share my experience.I called and never received a call back regarding the cancellation today, out of a 8+ hour day, she couldnt call me to confirm. So on my commute back to the city I left another message and just received a callback at 7pm.She was happy to reschedule my appointment, but demanded a prepayment for said services. Im sorry, this to me is absolutely unacceptable and down right degrading. Ive never had issues with payment or my routine care. The treating you like a human, a patient, and a long term relationship, it became transactional and fiscal.When I first came here. Couple years ago, I didnt like the office manager. Rigid, rude (in the guise of professional and proper), and transactional. I was a brand new patient and after my first visit I told myself I will not be returning. I didnt, the next cleaning was back to my old practice. Oddly, I returned because I liked the dentist.If you want to feel like a number on a piece of paper, with a practice that is lacking flexibility and understanding, be treated like a transaction, by a relatively Blasé office manager. This is the practice for you.I think she must push people away because the way these guys get new patients via marketing partners and incentivizing, leads one to believe the word of mouth referrals are weaker than desired.Word of mouth is your best channel here guys, and the word I can preach is far from ideal.So read this, try it yourself, or do yourself a favor and check out some other amazing dental offices and dental spas in Lincoln Park.They are on a busy street and parking can be a pain, so just another con to the lack of personal care.There are better options.The worst was when she said they are opening early for me, as justification, when the hours are 9-6 which was when I was due in.

Dr.Diel is amazing. His staff is attentive, very caring and helpful .He makes it a point to explain everything to you and provide you with all the options --which is my favorite thing about him. The office is conveniently located and very clean, tooIf you nedn a dentist, come here.

I left my home, traveled through a pandemic on public transportation, just to ALLEGEDLY show up two hours late to my emergency appointment.I scheduled an 11am emergency appointment for a tooth like three weeks ago. Shortly after, got an email that my appointment was canceled... Then got another email stating that is was in fact NOT canceled.I referred to the email that my appointment was at 11am. I looked online, where it showed that the dentist office opens at 11am. Show up at 11am... And the receptionist stated that I was supposed to be there two hours ago. The receptionist then stated that she (ALLEGEDLY) called me to confirm my 9am appointment. Yet, Ive received no email or texted stating that my appointment time was moved; no paper trail. Just an email that shows MY APPOINTMENT WAS AT 11AM!!!There is a pandemic going on. I am not trying to leaving the comfort of my apartment unless I have to. And yall are out here playing games.

Summer took her time inspecting my teeth before Dr Diehl came in and during her cleaning processs I felt no pain at all. My teeth have never felt so clean.
