I was in a pinch due to a funeral service, I only had 2 days to get a suit altered. TanyaTailor took my request on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm and had my cuffs shortened and pants hemmed and tapered by 10am the next morning. What a gem! I took a suit jacket in for some major tailoring. They were great about setting a pick up time and Ive never had a piece of clothing fit so well.

Tanya Tailor was a great experience for me. I needed to get a last minute suit fitting and I called ahead and was told I could come in anytime. When I arrived they were very friendly and helpful, and I would love to go back for any suit, tux, or alteration needs that I have.

3 tries on suit vest alteration and still couldn’t get it quite right. Probably not the best place for detail or precious / high value items.

Tanya is amazing and I had a wonderful experience with Tanya while she helped me get the suits for my wedding. She had previously altered a suit from Combat Gent (and done a phenomenal job too) and she had told me that she could get me a better value in the same range.I took her up on the offer and she delivered. The suits were of far superior quality for less than what the combat gent suit would cost altered. She even borrowed me a vest that I didnt plan for initially.Wonderful tailor and she delivered as promised! Highly recommended!!!

They ruined my wedding dress. Too short, layers uneven, tore a hole where the zipper was replaced, messed up the bustle, frayed strings. Horrible experience. The woman yelled at me and told me not to complain and blamed it on me. Do not use this shop!

I wish I could give this place 100 stars. I had a dress for a cousins wedding ordered back in the early summer that fit me, but good old quarantine 15 (and more, unfortunately) came on and couldnt zip the dress up. I panicked because after trying the dress before the wedding and it didnt fit, I needed emergency help. Tanya and her staff came through and had the dress ready for me just on time. I live in Rogers Park, so to give my money to a local business during these trying times makes me feel so great. I had a jacket, shorts and a nice backpack that ripped along the seams. She did a beautiful job of restoring them to brand new condition. The owner is very straight forward and talented and she even does masks for covid that come in every style and measurement so they fit snugly on you. Great service and prices.

Tanya upcycled my designer bag to the dimensions I wanted and fashioned new straps out of the leftover material. She is straightforward and great at her craft, she also has sewed me a dress in the past from scratch to my exact dimensions, and tailored denim and trousers. Would recommend to anyone who wants above and beyond quality done quickly! Also has great fitted masks that are relatively airtight, look great, and are breathable.

I took in a coat that was ripped open by the pocket. It was done within a few hours, and looked brand new. It was only $15. I would recommend them!

For one button and a tiny hole on a pair of shorts they charged me $10?! ridiculous !! I just ended up getting the button for $3 and dealt with the little hole, but a girl from Kazakhstan said, Ill just over the cross for nothing. I said, thats a deal !! 😃Wish my best friend Lucille was still alive she was a seamstress. I guess she would have sewed that little hole with the thread and needle and in no time ! 💓😊

Visited to alter bridesmaids dress. Loved the part where a separate fitting room exists and you could actually try the dress on and they would measure the length for you. However it was $50 for altering the outer layer and $20 for the inner layer. Quiet expensive. However, the dress turned out wonderful. Took two business days to finish the alteration.

They did amazing proffessional work in just a few hours. Was pricey for the gown we altered but it was a complicated job and done so well, you couldnt tell it was altered!

I brought in two dresses that needed to have the sleeves shortened. The sleeves had specialised hems at the end that were curved. In order to make the sleeves the right length, I was told that the sleeves would have to be cuffed and couldn’t have the special stitching. I was okay with this because I wanted to have the sleeves shortened. When I came to pick up the dresses, I saw that they were able to preserve the specialised hem on the dress’s sleeves and I was overjoyed! The sleeves now fit perfectly and with the specialised hem it looks wonderful. I would recommend Tanya Tailor to everyone. Thank you so much!

We have lived in Rogers park for over 10 years. Tanya (the owner) and her crew are warm, professional, skilled, and thorough. Once you come a few times you become like part of her family. I will say that a few of the services are very expensive and Tanya may try to sell you additional items or services. She means no harm, as she seems to be an industrious business person that offers many services/ products that none of the other local cleaners can come close to matching. They have made a few mistakes over the years, but those have been rectified and dont measure up to the overwhelming amount of quality work that has been done. I bought a very high quality inexpensive designer suit 8 years ago with custom tailoring, and I still get complimented on it. Joe and Harveys is a neighborhood establishment that takes care of its longtime customers.

Im 55 and stocky!! With that being said, finding a leather jacket that fit in the body and sleeve area was literally impossible. Ive always wanted a genuine leather jacket but could never find the right fit! I ended up buying a size XL on sale on Amazon but the sleeves literally went 6 inches past my hands! I looked silly to say the least. Brought this puppy into Tanya Tailor and they did an AMAZING job. The jacket is 100% genuine leather and IMMEDIATELY Tanya told me NO PROBLEM! We can alter it to your specifications and have it ready whenever you need. When I picked up the jacket, it fits perfect and now I look cool like the Fonz in my brand new leather jacket. Ive been using Joe & Harveys for years as a dry cleaning service and tailors. The quality of the service was always excellent and a time frame the orders are done very reasonable. When I do my clothes shopping in Chicago all of my alterations are done there. The owner of the business is a very pleasant and friendly lady. On several occasions she went out of her way to complete my orders on time. Ive also done shoe stretching at this shop.

Charged quite a bit of money to expand the chest of a dress & on the day of the wedding I was attending (as a bridesmaid) the alteration fell apart. Pretty disappointed.

Google dry cleaner users beware. I once brought my down comforter to be cleaned. The owner claims to wash the down out side of coverings. I have done my down pillows in the past without complaint. Some time ago when I bought my comforter in the owner tried to give me something that was not mine claiming she did me a favor by putting an outer cover on it. I knew something was wrong it was way too heavy for down. After much complaining and hearing that I dont know what is best for me. The owner brought my down comforter from the backroom in a plastic bag. I am not sure what her goal was? I think she wanted my down feathers. Her husband appeared to be upset with her. That is when she said I did not know what was good for me. I caution you when you this Dry Cleaner. Plus I think they are way too expensive. She can be pleasant but I usually walk away unhappy about price.

I had an emergency and needed a bridesmaid dress length hemmed last minute. I brought it in at 12:30 pm and they measured me for the alterations. It was ready by 6:30 pm that same day and was perfectly sewn and length was perfect. Will definitely use again!!!! Could not have been more happy. Thank you!!
