I went to school for welding and graduated with a career studies certificate. Found a job listing by Tidewater staffing labeled to the tune of entry welding positionSigned all their paperwork went through their safety meeting... then nothing.Days later when I followed up they tried to sell me on a fire watch position. They tried selling me on the notion that thats how welders start in shipyards.That is a lie.

This company is very unorganized and everyone acts like they just started and its there first day at work. On the day before my son started working they told hime to come get equipment and gave him the wrong equipment and to him to come the next day. The next day he couldnt get access because they failed to give him his OSHA card. The third day he couldnt work because they had given him the wrong safety goggles. What a joke this this company is. Dont waste your time.

Went to office in Chesapeake. There I was informed that this office mainly only fills positions for the shipyard. They have another office in Virginia Beach that fills other positions and more administrative positions. Drove to Virginia Beach office and was told they only fill positions for shipyards and I should have went to the Chesapeake office. Then they wanted me to fill out information on an outdated system in the main office. I briefed them all the information on the outdated kiosk was asking was already filled out online. They didnt care and wanted me to put my information in again. The company has my resume and phone number. Then the representative says to call back tomorrow. No---You call me back with a job position!

Great staffing agency. Shaun and crew are good people. Was hired on permanent with Norshipco back in the day. During a layoff was always there to put me to work. Great place to go if trying to start all over and never looked at sideways about your past. I have met some wonderful people during my tenure with them. Currently employed out in San Diego at BAE because of some of the skills I learned working with the contractors they assigned me with. Go in with the right attitude and you can move forward. I swear this people are thiefs they just want to make a paycheck of you because they offer osha card and firewatch training promisisng you that you will have a job in a shipyard but they dont ever have any jobs available ive been calling almost everyday for 3 months to get into the shipyards and all they ever got me was a warehouse job paying 10$ hr which isnt nothing compared to what i was told when i first when there for my classes i left a great job thinking that i was gonna get the shipyard job when they called me they said it was as a firewatch but when i got there after leaving my job they told me it was a warehouse job this people dont care about nobody but themselves please dont go here they dont know what theyre doing at all even if you piss dirty they still tell you that you can get a job but its all lies to make you sign papers so that they can get paid
