I have been a customer of Air Handlers Mechanical Service for over twenty years. Whether its maintenance on my existing HVAC equipment at my business, or installing a new mini split system in my home, I have always been able to count on them to do a professional job. They are always on time if a repair is needed, and are reasonably priced. They are very pleasant to deal with, especially Lindsy in the office. She makes every effort to help with coordinating a service call with my busy schedule, or getting the answers to any questions that I may have. She is top notch! They are a great company to do business with.

Brandon showed up after a full day to take care of our outside unit that had stopped. He was able to quickly diagnosis the issue and repair the unit to get our AC rolling again. He had also come about a week earlier to repair our coolant line and recharge our system. Price was good, he went ahead and tackled our unit maintenance (cleaning inside/outside coils and changing air filters as part of our plan), and pressure tested the system to make sure we were good. The heat went out in February on a 25º day and the AC went out yesterday when it was 95º! Both times, Air Handlers has come to the rescue with prompt, professional service. The other companies that I called didnt have availability for a week but Air Handlers sent Bernard the next day! He was polite, professional, and efficient, restoring our blessed AC!

My AC went out the day before we were to get 90 degree weather. Air Handlers was able to get Brandon out to my house the next day. He explained what was wrong and what needed to be replaced. He explained that the part I needed was under warranty but I would have to pay for labor. They have to order the part but Brandon got my AC working for now. We have used Air Handlers for years and always been very satisfied with their services. We use their Maintnance plan and Lindsy has been scheduling us for years. Lindsy always responds promptly when we call and makes sure that our needs are taken care of.

My hvac technician, Brandon, did a great job. He took the time to check out my whole system to make sure that the thermostat was the problem. He replaced it quickly and then researched how to set it to auto. He also diagnosed that my coils needed cleaning, showed me the information that showed this maintenance was needed, and then did the work needed.

Brandon W. came out to check on our Heating/Air unit because it was not working at all. We even tried installing a new thermostat and everything. Our home warranty company wanted to use another heating/cooling company and after reading the reviews for them we decided against it. I’m SO glad we did because AirHandlers did a phenomenal job! They were fast, courteous, and so incredibly pleasant to work with. Brandon was nothing but smiles and yes ma’am’s! I wish I could give 10 stars for Air Handlers. You cant go wrong with them. I am a huge first impressions person. First, Josh came to our home, gave us a quote to change our heat pump out to an A/C and Furnace. We also wanted to add a return to our downstairs. He put booties on to protect our flooring from the dirt on his shoes, and then was polite and listened to what we wanted to achieve. Come install time, the team worked efficiently and quickly. The installers cleaned up each day, including vacuuming. We did have a few issues with our install, and the owner, Bill, came out and resolved everything without us even asking for him. We thought just notifying Josh would have things taken care of. But Bill insisted on coming. There were even parts of the install we were happy with, but he wasnt. He fixed everything far beyond our expectations. Every person at Air Handlers is polite and eager to help. They werent the cheapest, but hands down provided the best service we have ever received from ANY contractor in the Hampton Roads area. Every employee at Air Handlers, from the front office to the technicians, wants to do right, and you just dont find that in a lot of contractors these days. My wife and I are more than 100% happy we chose Air Handlers, and we will be using them for all of our HVAC needs from here on out. They are fantastic!

My upstairs AC unit failed during the middle of the night. Called first thing in the morning and was able to get same day service and get it repaired. They were the only company of the 8+ that I called to offer same day and help me out. I think the prices were on the high side and a little much, but for same day service and fixing my AC in the middle of summer I can’t complain too much. The techs I dealt with were also very professional and knowledgeable.

John came out to inspect our system. The guy is top notch and a wealth of knowledge. He really took his time giving us various tips on caring for our system to help us save money down the road.

Purchased a home in November 2019. Heat worked fine during the winter, but when it came time for AC...it would not turn on. Complex Carrier HVAC system. Called Airhandlers. They came out the next morning, diagnosed the problem quickly, scheduled the repair a couple of days later.. The system now works perfectly. Very professional, on-time, and a very good value. I highly recommend...so much so that I signed a maintenance contract with them. Kevin (technician) was terrific!

This company is all about money. They came out twice in one week it took our money during this Pandemic. They sent out this man that knew he couldn’t fix our problem and still took our money. Air Handlers has been our HVAC company for many years. We decided to upgrade this year and the unit was promptly installed. We had a lot of issues with the unit and Air Handlers made it a priority to to come each time we called. They even had a representative from the manufacturer come and help figure out what the problem was. It turned out to be a faulty unit. It was quickly replaced. They were very diligent in finding the problem. All the technicians were awesome. Very polite and courteous. I highly recommend Air Handlers for any HVAC work.

Very polite, professional, knowledgeable and personable from office staff to Techs. Central unit went toes up and they replaced outside and inside (tight space) units in an HOA environment. They worked with a couple of HOA regulatons with ease and even in the rain on the day of installation. They took great care to protect flooring as well as the outside environment. I only gave them one star but l would give less if I could. They were horrible. First of all their technicians were over an hour late. They charged us $279 dollars for a part under warranty that we were supposed to have received free. When we realized this, they refused to give our money back. Bill Foreman, the owner, said that he would give my husband and I only $80 back and then bumped it up to $110. This business is dishonest and unprofessional. We heard laughter in the background as he was telling us how much he was willing to give. Mr Foreman was very egregious and arrogant.I strongly urge everyone to avoid this company!

Amazing!! Thank you Air Handlers for making what could have been a miserable few days to simply a few hours of uncomfortableness. It was 95 degrees out during a blistering heat wave...and my AC went out during the night.... I called and Lindsey hooked me up with a Tech within a few hours of calling! And the Tech that came was so helpful explaining to me everything that he was testing and checking. He had so many helpful tips for me to try to keep my system up an running as long as possible. No pushy sales..just swift complete service...and working AC within 1 hour of him stepping foot in my door! I would recommend to anyone...and I did to all my co-workers. Nice job everyone.

Great service. The problem was intermittent and Air Handlers exceeded expectations tracking it down and fixing the issue.

Where to begin with such a WONDERFUL experience. I choose 6 contractors off Angie’s List. With each one I explained 3 things that I was looking to change about my HVAC system (comfort in the summer, 2 rooms were always hotter or colder than the others and my old unit was noisy, you could hear the air flow) and ask for their suggestions. Three of the 6 gave me similar results! You need new duct work! I was expecting that since I knew my actic was unusually comfortable in the summer when it was over 100* outside and with the duct work hard and inflexible it was obvious it was old and deteriating. Second suggestion was a Variable Speed Unit for constant air flow and Humidity control. Ok so these things come with a price I was expecting that. Josh with Air Handlers was wonderful at explaining what we needed and gave us the why behind his suggestions (his words reflected 1 other contractor we had quoted with, narrowing down our choices). Where Josh stood out was he knew that the unit we really needed would require new duct work explaining that due to the dehumidifying function that the old duct work would sweat and eventually damage the Attic and Ceiling. He also stated “He would NOT install that unit unless we replaced the ducts”. INTEGRITY something as a salesperson myself I look for. He was willing to walk away if the job was not done right. I knew before they showed up that I would need new duct work so I had asked each contractor after they gave me their suggestions about replacing the duct work and the 3 that had not suggested new duct work were planning on putting in the same type unit and said that duct work was to costly (not their decision to make, besides they should of pointed out the consequences if I had not replaced it). After a lot of research online about the unit Josh had suggested “The Carrier Infinity” I realized that was due to my concern over comfort in the summer! Boy people are passionate about there HVAC systems. Done, I knew Air Handler’s was winning my business. I had no idea how easy this was going to be. Josh explained it could be a 3-5 day job with new duct work. Brian the installer lead was prompt and showed up exactly each day when he advised us he would and got right to work. They protected my property with flooring protection and cleaned up each day after themselves. If it weren’t for the 2 to 4 trucks outside nobody would have even noticed I was having work done. They are smaller company 2 installers and 2 technicians but they provided excellent service and were very prompt. I wish I would have gotten the names of the other 3 guys who were wonderful and took those extra steps to insure I was aware of what they were doing and showing us how the machine worked. They worked with us on a few extra changes mid-job with no complaints (I asked for risers to raise the outside unit and my husband wanted all new duct covers). If you need HVAC work and look for INTEGRITY, GREAT SERVICE and PROMPTNESS these are your guys (and the ladies in the office were wonderful as well). When friends and neighbors asked us who I suggest Air Handlers Mechanical Services, Inc. will be my suggestion. My neighbor also used them the next week and had duct worked replaced as well and she had nothing but positive comments about her experience. She had contacted them after I gave her their name from Angie’s List and was impressed with the time Bill had spent explaining things to her ( she commented that she had done 10 quotes with other companies and they by far stood out).
