Dr. Porter and his staff have provided me with some of the best, compassionate care that I’ve had. I’ve struggled with my dentist visits for years but I’ve never felt so comfortable! He and his team have excellent knowledge and always make a game plan for my dental visits. 10/10 would recommend anyone who has dental nerves to go and speak with Jenna to make an appointment, who is very responsive and empathetic to my specific needs. After not having been to a dentist in a while due to lack of insurance and the Covid 19 pandemic, and learning my regular dentist had moved out of the area. I called multiple offices to set up a new patient visit only to be told the average wait was between 30-45 days. To my surprise when I called Charlotte Dental Arts I was given the option of a next day appointment AND they offered an In house wellness plan that is very affordable (which I signed up for). I was quite anxious and frankly a little worried that I had waited too long as I walked in the door, but was greeted with smiling faces and kind words which put me at ease very quickly.After the initial exam and plenty of x-rays I was given a thorough explanation of my treatment plan and offered a same day appointment to get started which I gratefully accepted. To date I have had a complete Deep cleaning and a permanent crown that was actually made IN HOUSE.The level of professionalism and attention to patient comfort will keep me coming back to Charlotte Dental Arts for as long as I can.Thank you Dr. Porter and your amazing staff

We have been patients of Dr. Porter for 15 years. Dental Arts describes his level of knowledge and care. I have had crowns, wisdom teeth out, regular cleaning, and now Invisilign.Staff is excellent, friendly, remembers you and a place where you can build relationships.With all procedures I have had minimum pain. Dr. Porter is outstanding with novacaine Many people fear the shots, but you barely know the needle went in.You are in good hands!

I had a tooth filled about a month ago at Charlotte Dental Arts (CDA). During the prep for the filling Dr. Porter noticed the filling at an adjacent tooth, that had been recently installed by my previous dentist, had issues that needed to be addressed. After having moved to another area of Charlotte I had switched dentists and had recently returned to CDA because of the excellent service we received previously. The original filling and the adjacent tooth filling procedures as well as a crown installation were performed by Dr. Porter during the viist. I subsequently experienced tenderness in the area of the fillings that did not go away with time. Upon calling into the CDA office they took my concern very seriously and scheduled me in to the office the next day. During the visit CDA conducted an X-ray and then Dr. Porter determined an adjustment of the bite was what was needed. The adjustment was performed and I was on my way and my tooth tenderness is subsiding which I am very happy about. My experience here with CDA is consistent with and is a testiment to their entire teams expert, caring and professional dental service that they have provided to me and my family.

Today on 12/23/20 I had an appointment for a root canal at another dentist. Obviously that didn’t go well and I am her with Dr. Porter. His team went out of his way before holiday with a plan to get me through Xmas with no pain. Had better tech for less than competitors. Service just amazing. Also important was multiple payment options that other dentist couldn’t do.Not sure why I didn’t come here first. Highly recommend.

I came to Dr. Porter in so much pain I had been lying on my floor crying all night. After almost 30 years at a dentist who had not done the greatest job, the first of many old crowns and fillings had come apart. I was going to lose that tooth and, I didnt know it then, 2 more and eventually every crown will have to be replaced.I was terrified. I had trusted my child and myself to this other dentist and I had always had trust issues with dentists due to bad experiences in childhood. But I had heard of Dr. Porter for years and I had to find a dentist before things went beyond just a toothache.From the first call, my anxiety began to lessen. They were so reassuring that they could help. When I got there the staff was so warm and welcoming and I felt like everything was going to be okay. I was shown to a room and wrapped in a blanket. Dr. Porter was open and honest and told me I had a long road to go, but his first concern was stopping the pain and that would mean losing the tooth that was already broken into pieces. Honestly, while I was scared it really wasnt that bad and I didnt feel a thing.I went back the next week for a cleaning and thorough exam to see just what needed to be repaired and Dr. Porter mapped out a plan for what needed to be done and which items were most urgent.That was a couple of years ago. My daughter has had her wisdom teeth and some other work done by Dr. Porter. She was more terrified than I was and now she loves going in for her cleanings! Im still getting old things fixed but I know Im in the right place for that to happen.I cannot recommend Charlotte Dental Arts strongly enough. I also recommend if you already have a dentist to get a second opinion if you have had or need a lot of work done. I had been walking around for years with a ticking time bomb (and a cotton ball inside a crown!) in my mouth of potential decay from ill-fitting crowns and I didnt know any better. Im so glad I finally found a dentist that I know will always communicate with me, answer my questions and most importantly, take great care of me and my family.

I am one of those people with major dental anxiety. Ive always felt judged by previous dentist for my teeth issues and have put off routine care because of it. I found Charlotte dental arts a few years ago and my dental experience has forever been changed. I am always greeted with super friendly office staff that make me feel at home as soon as I walk through the door. The hygienist are very compassionate and understanding and try very hard to ease my anxiety. Dr. Porter has always been willing to tackle all of my issues even when my anxiety kicks in and I wait to long to come back to the office. He offers sedation dentistry which I love because it takes away the majority of my anxiety during appointments. But most of all I am thankful for the relationship that I have with Wanda. She is an amazing person that has held my hand when tears were rolling down my face and who encourages me to keep my appointments. She has arranged all of my treatment plans and she makes the daunting appointments seem manageable. She is absolutely one of a kind. “I look forward to going to the dentist”, if you cannot say this then time to switch to Charlotte Dental Arts. Parafin wax dipped hands with hot mitts and warm neck and eye pillows are part of the experience. Ask for topical desensitizing gel, so that you don’t feel all the scraping. Not very noisy either. Dr.Porter and his staff are very welcoming from the minute I walk in the door. I highly recommend a visit. My whole family goes there.

Charlotte Dental Arts lived up to the reviews I had read online, The staff was friendly, courteous and very professional.This was my initial visit and at no time did I feel rushed or pressured in any way as they explained my options for a treatment plan after the x-rays and oral exam.Being new to the area I have some anxiety choosing all new health care providers. My go to acid test for a new dentist is to state I need to tell you something before you do any dental work. If you hurt me I will bite you!! Without missing a beat Dr Porter said,If you bite me I will bite you right back! So we have an understanding... It helps to have a doctor who understands me and has a sense of humor!

I have had a great experience here at Charlotte Dentistry Arts. Dr porter and his staff have done a great job, they are very accommodating. I will continue to come here for all my teeth related cleanings & procedures.

Everyone is so friendly. I have never liked going to dentist but they make it so easy and comfortable that I actually enjoyed my appointment. Love that they have early appointments so I am in and out before work.

Dr. Porter is both a phenomenally gifted dentist and an equally gifted artist. We have been his patients since 1998, and we shudder to think of selecting another dentist if we had to move or if he decided to move or retire. We trust him completely with our teeth (and I’ve had a considerable amount of dental work done under Dr. Porter…all with beautiful long-lasting results). My sister and her family, originally from Charlotte, have traveled from London, Connecticut and Philadelphia (all the places they’ve lived) just to see Dr. Porter because they know they can absolutely count on his work. We first learned of Dr. Porter from a neighbor who also said he was the most gifted dentist they had ever had. We highly recommend Dr. Porter to anyone looking for a new dentist!

Everyone is super friendly. It is a spotlessly clean office and I love the complimentary chapstick. It is always a pleasure to visit - as pleasurable as going to the dentist can be! I brought my three year old daughter and she sat nicely during my hour long appointment watching shows on the iPad the office ladies let her use.

His attention to detail is impeccable in every procedure he does. Ive had the opportunity to watch and be involved with countless dental procedures over a span of 45 years while being in the dental industry and have personally experienced his expertise. He is the first and only dentist who has given me a painless injection. I cant say enough positive things about Dr. Porter and his staff who are very professional and caring. Their hygienist Amy is very thorough and gentle. Great dentist, great staff.

Best Dentist ever. I was afraid and ashamed and in pain and lost and now I am brave and proud and pain free and have been on the best path forward for dental health. Charlotte Dental Arts completely changed everything for the better. Dr. Porter is exactly what I want in a dentist. A mix of the great old school dentist that gets on with it and gets the job done and as well as a technologically up to date facility with a wonderful staff and a very present/here and now attitude towards patient well-being. Ive been a patient of Dr. Porters since 2014. He and his staff are extremely professional and are experts in the field. They are fastidious, extremely attentive, and highly skilled. Some people dont understand that your teeth not only have an impact to your health, but also your personality and confidence - people unsure about their teeth may not smile as often, for example.The person assigned to me - Kristin, is very, very good at her craft. She takes her work seriously and has always given me an experience tailored to my needs. Shes extremely forthcoming and takes great care to ensure you walk away with the full knowledge of what you need to do to excel at your dental hygiene.

So far so good. I left a voicemail at night about severe tooth pain and even though she could barely hear me Laurie(sp) called and they got me in. When I came there was literally no wait they knew who I was before I introduced myself and the staff was very friendly and UPFRONT ABOUT COST! I look forward to continuing my past care with Charlotte Dental Arts.
