I had a great experience, leak in my tire, they were very busy, but took care of it immediately . Everyone there is very nice & professional . I Would use them again.
My low battery light came on as I was driving from Ballantyne. My car had been acting sluggish and I knew there was a Woodies on Carmel Road. Pulled in and just wanted them to check the battery, but I had to leave the car. Soon after I got a diagnostic report complete with pictures. My alternator and battery were dead, but I also needed brakes. They took care of my car and it was ready the next morning. Josh was my service manager and he was professional and courteous. I would recommend this shop.
Needed a tire plugged and they did not have a single technician at 4 30 pm, everyone went home. Must be nice! So now a young woman will be in danger of a flat tire because men are to soft to work.
I recommend Woodies Auto Center. They ran a diagnostics on my older BMW X5. Found the problem and fixed it in one day. The fees were very reasonable. I was surprised. I would definitely go again.

The most pathetic oil change you could get for $80, sorry Josh but this is absolutely not going out of my shop like this.The owner replied he didnt understand my statement, that it was my shop?. No, if I have to explain English jargon it is not my shop. It came from your shop, where I wrote the review. And it left Woodies Auto Garage on Carmel, since I have to spell it out, with oil on my engine cover, and my headlamp.

Horrible experience. My car was over heating and check engine light came on. They said radiator, gastets, brakes and a few other things needed repair. I paid $2700 to get my car fixed. As soon as I pick my car up drive it home. Tire pressure light and check engine light comes on. I take car back and they want to charge me again for diagnostic because it could be cam shift. Seems like you should have told me everything when u told me about $2700 of work I just had done.
I had the Carmel Rd/51 location complete the state inspection on my vehicle. Everything went smooth until I started to drive off and noticed the failed result on my paperwork. The service writer had not informed me of this. When I returned he was confused and had to speak with the technician who explained it was due to leaking in my steering rack. The P/S fluid reservoir was full, no leaking on my driveway so this did not add up. I was told to return at 2pm so they could show me and I asked that the mgr be present. When I returned the mgr was not present and I was given the shoulder shrug when asked about waiting or not. The mgr did call me later and agree to view with with me. While under my vehicle it was clear that they were hoping to sell me a $1500+ repair as no leak was evident. Highly recommend avoiding this facility.
Went there for the annual state inspection. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time, my appointment and time in the business was handled in a professional and courteous manner.

Everyone was very kind and professional. I appreciated the shuttle service and the driver was an engaging, friendly guy. My surprises came over the cost. I havent purchased a car battery in a few years, so I was quite surprised that the quote was for $260. However, I was in a bit of a spot and needed to get the battery quickly. The man who gave me the quote was also helpful in pointing out a few other things that needed to be repaired. I opted on only have them put in two turn signal light bulbs for which I, foolishly didnt get a quote. When all was said and done, the bill was $465. I cannot imagine why the bill went from $260 to $465 with just two light bulb installations that I was having them install simply out of convenience so I wouldnt have to do it...which I could have done. All in all, I received wonderful, professional service but the price tag was over the top for me.
Overall the service was great but I was not treated well by Oliver. I checked in around 9am and was told they have a shuttle if i needed it. I made sure they could come back to pick me up from work, and was told it wouldnt be a problem. Later Oliver called to talk about my car and once again I asked to get the shuttle, he said that was fine. He then called back after my scheduled time which I had to schedule for my lunch break but it was too late. He then proceeded to tell me he cant schedule a specific time which is completely different from what I heard all day. I had to take time off to get the shuttle, with a very upset boss. The shuttle driver couldnt find me, even though I gave precise directions and it wasnt difficult. He also didnt wear a mask in the vehicle which made me incredibly uncomfortable. I will not be returning to Woodies, after all this.
Courteous and competent though it did cost me $480 (w/ tax) to completely recharge the A/C system. My philosophy is I’d rather pay someone a little more but know it’s done right the first time!
I needed new tires mounted and balanced. They charged me a fair price and it was a quick turn around.
Unfortunately I was disappointed. I dropped off my car due to nail in one of tire. I received a call that I needed a mew tire and alignment and told my car would be ready in the afternoon. I received another call later afternoon that my car was ready. I went to go pick up my car, paid for the services and drove home. The next morning I received a phone call that the services I paid for.....none of it was done. So I had to go back and wait to ensure that services were completed. Very disappointing.
Good service. They got me in for an annual inspection within hours of calling. Took less time to complete than they quoted to me. Will definitely keep coming back.

Very poor customer service. First time we have been here. Needed starter replaced... Top up fluids...and repair hanging bumper. Cost over $400 not including insurance amount of $200. Re-used part cost only $90....rest was labor....and bumper not fixed....needed a special clip and didnt bother to put on a temporary bolt.Im 73 and disabled and I will add 2 bolts myself. Thanks for your help Woodys! Never coming back here and by the way they waited until we got there to pick up the car to tell us they werent going to fix the bumper, even though they said it would be fixed by the time we got there. Both front wheels stated dragging would not turn when on lift after a brake job at Matthews Woodies! Manager said it was both of my brake calipers that went out the day after service and would not cover the cost! Have not and will not recommend any Woodies. I felt I was taken advantage of as a disabled veteran.
After reading all of the positive reviews I decided to inquire from Woodies on labor cost to replace 02 sensor and an intake manifold runner control module. I already have the parts and only needed labor. AS I walked into ***FRONT OFFICE DESK three mechanics*** were reclined back, didnt even get up, and asked can I help you as if I was an inconvenience to them. I told them the parts I needed replaced in which I got a quick reply we cant do that. we dont use 3rd party parts. and that was it. **I understand as most shops won’t install 3rd party equipment** but there was absolutely no effort, no attempt, and not even an inquiry or even the slightest attempt to offer a solution with their own parts. Terrible customer service!

Ran into engine problems while on the road, and Woodies was able to not only give me an extremely thorough breakdown of issues they could find, but also included pictures and easy to read analysis.
Good customer service and communication as they helped me diagnose and repair a key-fob and car battery issue.
I came in with a flat tire. John took the time to look at it and refill it to see wha the issue was. It would not hold air. He took extra time to put my spare tire on and then he gave me a quote to replace the two back tires! The price was EXCEPTIONALLY LOWER than any other quote I had received. John was amazing in helping me get hone, the best price and he explained all my options. The whole establishment was clean and organized. All the service men were so kind and helpful. Ive gotten oil changes and routine maintenance done at this location without issue and for good cost, so I would recommend this for any services with a fixed price. However, I believe they were dishonest with me months ago when quoting me for services to replace my battery and fix my brakes pads. They quoted me for $1600 for replacing my battery and replacing 4 brake pads, and stated my battery had less than a week to go. Its months later and the battery still works- Ive also received numerous other quotes from auto services businesses around Charlotte that place the work at less than $500 cumulatively.I would highly recommend Woodies for routine, fixed price services, but I would be skeptical of trusting them with other work unless I received similar quotes from other businesses prior to going with Woodies.
I want to start by saying that Josh was great! Good customer service and very polite. I took my car in because the serpentine belt had busted. My car started smoking the night before and noticed the belt wasnt turning so I took it in the next morning. After it was diagnosed that the AC compressor had gone out causing the belt to bust and over a gut punch of over $2000 later my car was fixed or at least they said it was. And of course they found more things wrong with it asking for at least another $1500. I have driven it for less than a week (Only to and from work, not far) since having it serviced and it makes a different noise everyday & each are different than before I took it in. And as of today when I was on my way home it started smoking and making an even louder noise than before, got home, opened the hood and the belt quit turning again. Ive heard great things about Woodies but am disappointed in the cost, if I couldve driven it further I wouldve taken it somewhere else but was at their disposal unfortunately. That and the fact that I didnt even drive it for a week, and I already have to take it back, and inconvenience people to get me to work. Im not sure how likely Id be to take it back, honestly. I definitely dont have $2,000+ at my disposal.

I had a wonderful experience at this location! I was in and out on my lunch break for my car inspection. The customer lounge was very clean, nice and relaxing. I was able to watch some tv, eat a snack and have a soda while waiting. The front desk staff were awesome. I was offered a shuttle back to work or wherever I wanted to go. As a working Mom, I was totally fine with just having some time to myself in the lounge. I’ll definitely be back for my service needs.
I brought my car in to have a diagnostic run to find out the issues with my AC. The entire experience was professional however when calling me to update me on my car they quoted me $2300 to fix everything. While on the phone I requested an itemized list via phone as well as via email, the email quoted me $1800. I went in specifically to have my AC fixed, they wanted to also replace my license plate lights and air filter (costing over $100). Both of those items can be purchased for less than $20 and replaced in less than 20 minutes so I did it myself!However they stated that my compressor was bad so they were going to replace the entire unit, this was not true. We tested it ourselves and found out it was actually the clutch that had gone bad. It was a simple test they could have done in order to figure out it was the clutch but it clearly was not done. The man at Woodies speaking to me confirmed that it was the compressor..... So while I appreciate that they looked at my car they would have completed unnecessary work that would have costed me a fortune. I feel this was very lazy on their end and I will not be returning.
Moved here from out of town a couple months ago..Woodie’s have been very helpful with our needs..needless to say this was a big move from our hometown to this “big” town...this past weekend Tom was most helpful explaining some maintenance work that needs to be done..will definitely be back to take care of this a little at a time...thanks to all!

It appears that the staff may try to create income while doing basic things like state car inspections and oil changes. The cost of some of their recommendations is high.
Went in to get my wheel checked told them twice in person and on the phone. When I came back he told me something about the engine and ignored me when I asked about the wheel and was very dismissing blaming it on the humidity.
My first visit was for state inspection. I was very please with the courteous, professional service rendered to me.
My daughter took her car there of a simple oil change and was charged $85 for a simple job. Our last one at a different t place was $29. And no we did not get synthetic for a Nissan.
I brought my Hyundai in to have the brakes checked because they were making a clinking sound. Was told that the brakes were ok but was told the sway bar link was bad and that is where the noise was coming from. I asked if replacing the sway bar the noise would go away and was told yes. After spending $548.00 to fix the problem, the noise was still there. Took the car back for another check, rode with a rep to point out the noise I was hearing, which he heard. They checked the brakes again and said nothing was wrong. Then I went to another shop and told them about the noise and they said the rotors were warped, which I though was the problem. Now I have to spend another $500 to have the rotors and pads replace. So Im not sure if the sway bar really needed to be replaced or not. I feel like I just spent $500 I did not need to and Woodies did not find the problem. Will not be going back!!
Wesley was excellent! I had to have a new alternator,air filter and belt ..he diagnosed it within an hour and was fixed in less than 24 hrs. Everyone there is extremely nice and helpful and the car service is a huge plus. I will always use Woodies for my car service needs!!
As a new customer and resident to North Carolina it’s nice to find a repair shot that only does quality work but at a fair competitive price. Friend personnel that are able to repair the broken window regulator in my late model Jeep.

Never given written estimate to replace a battery only a verbal...I was charged $50 for install and $30 for charging system analysis and then to add insult to injury another $20 for shop parts. After picking up the car and lifting the hood to inspect the work I find no corrosion protection on either terminal and the cap for the positive terminal left hanging. I’ve used this shop before and have been happy but not this time around.
Woodie’s quoted me an exorbitant amount for replacing my brake pads and rotars. I’m worried that places like this try to take advantage of me; I’m not sure if that’s what was happening here but I felt uncomfortable with how they tried to charge me for a brakes change and small work.

They are extremely over priced and from all the other reviews that I am seeing, they are not proficient at getting repairs done.I went here to fix my door handle. A SIMPLE ISSUE. My door handle could not open from the inside. They took the car in, took them 3 hours to even look at the car which I understand but then they called me saying it would be $400 to replace my door handle...I can buy a whole new door for that price. So I said no I will just come pick up my car.Then they charged me $65 just bc they “looked” at it. BS.
Very expensive, fixing small little things will cost you fortune, stay away from any of woodys locations you will regret it, there are lots of reasonable affordable Mechnic shops near by.
We like the primary focus they have on doing an excellent job of doing the work that necessitated the service appointment in the first place as opposed to almighty efforts attempting to up-sell additional non-urgent work. They might offer a few suggestions to keep in mind for the future, but the overall impression is that they do a great job of maintaining your vehicle.
I recently had some work done there and everyone was very nice. I was kept informed on the work being done throughout the day. Even though I didn’t make use of the waiting room, they literally have everything you would need while waiting. I will be returning and telling all my friends about this place. Thanks guys!!! Oh and the shuttle was very convenient!
Misleading pricing, aggressive sales tactics that try to use fear to motivate you to purchase additional services, and worst of all: they price gouge very badly compared to other shops around the city. My guess is they feel they can get away with it due to being in an affluent area of Charlotte. I never leave bad reviews, but after 3 negative experiences with 2 vehicles, I will no longer be giving them my business, and suggest you look elsewhere if youre reading this.

We have had our vehicles serviced at Carmel Road a few times now. Its always a pleasant and quick experience. This time in particular, I thought I needed a new tire, but Woodies was able to patch it up, which ended up being about 10% of the cost of a new tire. I appreciate Ricks honesty and integrity as he could have easily told me to replace the whole tire. Will definitely be going back.

Weve typically had great experiences working with Woodies. We had recently scheduled an appointment for an oil change. We arrived on time, walked next door to kill time while the work was being completed and was frustrated to see that when we returned our car hadnt been moved (and work had not yet begun). Our intent in booking an appointment was to make it easier for everyone to knock the job out, instead we were inconvenienced. Pretty frustrating....

This place is so honest. I was given a quote when they got into the mechanics of it they discovered the part they thought needed replaced was okay and it was a much less expensive part. I saved nearly $200. Its nice to have a place that you can trust and is friendly and has shuttle service.

Lounge is very comfortable. I had my 5 week old baby with me and they made me feel very comfortable nursing him there!
Ive been going to Woodies for 8 years now, and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. Rick, Alex, and all the guys are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest; I never suspect them of leading me astray for profit. Woodies can be pricey at times, but they are speedy and do good work. I highly recommend.
We have used Woodie’s to service both of our vehicles both for regular maintenance and when we’ve had issues. Most recently, our car was taken in for what we thought was a small issue... turns out we had a list of issues... Nobody wants to get that call. But, what makes Woodie’s different is their commitment to customer satisfaction and partnering with us to get to a solution. As a mom with kids in car seats, logistics are always a challenge for us and these guys always rise to the occasion to make it work. So, are they absolutely the cheapest in town? Maybe not. But, I have found their prices and recommendations to be fair and reasonable (especially in determining what must be done today, vs what can be done later) AND and I have a high level of confidence in their work and that they’ll stand by their guarantees (which we haven’t had to use yet, which says something itself!). Car issues aren’t fun for anyone. These guys get the job done right and have made it less painful in the process. Highly recommended!
Rick at the front desk is awesome! Id never taken my car to Woodys, but from the first words on the phone to the handshake after my repairs were complete, hes a super fun, efficient and knowledgable guy. Really made the process smooth.They made the necessary repair to my vehicle and identified a few more, which made sense in hindsight but were issues I didnt fully notice. Nice surprise, too, that the actual price of the repairs came in $200 less than Rick estimated on the phone.Will be back, for sure. Give Rick a raise!

After taking the shuttle back to my house, Rick called at 1:00 letting me know that the car was ready. The whole process was very efficient at a competitive price.
We have lived in Charlotte for 27 years and used various car repair companies, including dealers and independents. Woodies is the best of them all. The amenities are nice - shuttle, waiting area, etc. - but the best thing is the integrity and quality of service. When weve done comparison shopping, weve always found Woodies to have the best price. When weve had a tough problem that the dealer mechanics couldnt figure out, the guys at Woodies have always had the right diagnosis. When we are likely to get a better deal elsewhere, Woodies has been honest about that and sent us on down the road. One measure I have of merchant integrity is someone who tells me I dont need something I was all ready to purchase. Woodies has lived up to that measure several times. For example, we needed tires for both of our cars (Lincolns head was fully exposed), and we checked at Woodies and at a tire place. The tire place told us we needed a special premium tire for both cars, but the fellows at Woodies asked us a bunch of questions about the use of each car and noted their respective ages, then told us we would get equal safety and mileage going with a lower priced tire on one of the cars. That was several years ago, and their advice has proven accurate. After several years of such good experiences, the only time we take our cars any place else is when the guys at Woodies advise us to.
AC was blowing hot and cold. They diagnosed correctly and took path of least cost... and it has worked great since.*** BUT 03/25/2019 THEY DID A 28 POINT INSPECTION THAT CLAIMED TO check front and rear brakes. Within 2 weeks the brakes started making noise and the brake light on the dash stayed on. The brakes started to make terrible noise when braking. I took it to the Woodies in Fort Mill and they said my front and back brakes were dangerously shot, including the disc and the drums. They did a great job and the car runs great. *** They said that the 28 Point inspection would have definitely seen the brakes were bad. I feel like the Carmel Rd Woodies only listed that they did the inspection and put me in danger of a serious accident.Do not trust that they really looked at your car when they promise they did the 28 Point Inspection.*** I am wanting a resolution on this or I feel like they do not really care and I will need to go further to make this known.

We have taken our Honda to this location for repairs on the same door window on two separate occasions. Each time we were charged a diagnostic fee which seems unreasonable since it was apparent the issue were the parts that made the window go up and down. After each time we had to take the Honda back in because clips were either missing or were not fastened properly which caused a rattle/whistle around the door.The first time was in June of 2015 and the second was December 2019. Both times it was the passenger front window. I as told it was out of the 3yr warranty. Hard to believe the first regulator/motor lasted 14 yrs and the replaced one only lasted 4 1/2 yrs.This is way we are unable to give a 5 star rating.
I used to trust Woodies on Carmel. I no longer trust this repair shop. This week I took an auto in for repairs. When I was called, I was told the problem was diagnosed, and then I told Woodies to repair my vehicle. Upon picking up my auto; I noticed they also charged me $45 for wiper blades. Never asked to have wiper blades installed watch this place for extra unauthorized repairs. And then the topper is I had to take my auto back because they did not repair the auto correctly the first time!

Overpriced! Got a second opinion and saved $320.00 AND got a warranty for 3 years and/or 36,000 miles on the repair at another automotive shop. This shop takes advantage of the areas socio-economic demographics.

Very professional, clean, well managed. I was there for an inspection, which failed, and they offered remediation for the problem areas. Its an older car so I do not doubt their findings. I thought the prices to fix the problems was a little high so I declined, but I may find I was wrong. Very nice customer waiting area with free beverages and chips. Nice furniture and TV. The intake guy was great...polite and professional and not offended when I declined the nice plan of remediation hed put together. Good idea to have an appointment. I did, and was in and out in 30 minutes. Warning... If youre headed south on Carmel, you have to go past them by a block and make u turn to get to the entrance.
The service at Woodies is away fantastic. They are honest and very respectful. I have all of my non-warranty work done at the Carmel Rd facility. My wife had my sons car in recently for service and Alex took great car of her. Running her back and forth to Waxhaw!
I HAD JUST ARRIVED IN CHARLOTTE AFTER A ROAD TRIP FROM COLORADO TO VISIT FAMILY WHEN ONE OF THE TIRES ON MY CAR HAD A BLOWOUT. MY SISTER CONTACTED WOODIES AND EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD BE NEEDING SOME HELP. THE ENTIRE STAFF AT WOODIES WERE FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT AND HELPFUL, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO ASSIST ME THE SAME DAY MY PROBLEM OCCURRED. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM WAS EXCEPTIONAL AND STRESS-FREE.

Woodies gave me excellent service! I had a slow leak in one of my tires, went to another tire shop and was told they could not repair the tire and that I would need a brand new tire for $280. We called Woodies and John said to bring the vehicle over and he would take a look. They patched the tire with no problem and saved me $280. We will only go to Woodies from now on and I recommend them to anyone with car issues. Thanks again John for the great service!

Woodies service is always pleasant, informative, and timely.
Came in out of the blue on Thursday afternoon just before closing with a tire problem. I knew it was not an emergency and asked if it was possible to get an appointment for the next day. They said they were booked solid but if I could get there before 9:00 they would fit me in sometime. Well got there at 8:00 and was out by 8:45. GREAT service highly recommend Woodie’s.
It was a pleasure working with Alex at Woodies, he was very professional but had a wonderful way of making you laugh, in the midst of the stress of having 2 broken vehicles. I appreciated his candor and the overall experience was quite enjoyable even with the stressful circumstance. Thanks so much, we will be back!!
Had an appointment for ten a.m. Was on time. Vehicle didnt move into the service bay for at least 45 minutes. What should have been an hour and a half to two hours around up being three and a half. Service was fine. Customer lounge is great. Wait sucked.
The carbmaster at this location definitely needs some customer service skills. They also charged me $400.00 to make a repair before they tried to find the part so I basically paid all that money for nothing. I dont recommend them.
