I have been using Almar Auto for several years now for my car maintenance and repairs. Rusty and his team have consistently provided quality service in a timely manner at reasonable prices. They are honest, professional, trustworthy, and do good work. I highly recommend Almar Auto Repair.
I have a third generation family heirloom that I refuse to take just anywhere for maintenance/repairs. I honestly had a vague idea of what I thought my ‘85 elco needed. I had a conversation with Rusty and he decoded my inept mechanically inclined jargon. Told me to bring her in and gave me a list of what the car needed. He then gave me the choice to choose what I wanted to get repaired. No foolishness. No misdiagnosing. The labor is worth the cost, because they know what they’re doing the first time. I will be bringing her back in for exhaust work!
After looking around Charlotte for good mechanics for older vehicles for many years, I think the search is over. Rusty and the gang got my 69 Bronco running better than it has in years! Got her in and out quickly and they really know their stuff!
I am going back to this place for as long as I own cars. They were courteous and worked with me when I called to tell them Id be late because of traffic, and then immediately got to work on my car when I drove it in. Only took 2 hours for front brakes and rear drum replacement.Rusty was very detailed in telling me what the diagnostic revealed, and explained the car stuff to me in a way that was easy to understand. Really appreciate his time and patience with me.The waiting room to really cool, lots of car models (even hotwheels!) stuff around the waiting area, and comfortable chairs. Also a small comics section of display. Also there were vintage style signs all around the walls, very nice atmosphere.
Ive began using Almar Auto on the recommendation of a co-worker back in 2008, and after all these years I still use them for everything from basic maintenance to major repairs. Back in the day it was Andy, and now its Rusty and Mike, who will give you straight and honest recommendations about what your car needs from a maintenance and safety perspective. The last few years, my finances have been tight and Ive trusted them to help me prioritize which repairs to address first. Ive taken my old Jeep, and now my Hyundai, to Almar even just for oil changes (instead of the quickie chain places) because I trust them to look over my car and be honest with me about any upcoming maintenance I might need to start planning for. I usually have to save up ahead of time for anything more than an oil change, so the more notice I have, the better! I highly recommend Almar for everyone, and particularly for women, if you are just tired of being taken advantage of financially at the other auto shops. In my experience over the last 13 years, these guys are legit and honest.
This place is the absolute worst shop Ive ever encountered. My vehicle was misdiagnosed. After the second diagnosis, I was quoted 820.00 to repair a hose leak to the AC compressor. I was told only the dealer carried the hose and it would be 400+. I immediately check Parts Geek and found the hose for 30 bucks. I was also charged 2xs for the diagnosis even though they misdiagnosed it the first time. Trust me, you would be better off going to another mechanic. to put it in perspective, Id go to the the dealership before returning here.
Rusty is the best.. worked with me on payments. Car running like new. Def my permanent mechanic here in Charlotte
My car was having some kind of transmission issue. Rusty & his staff was nice & to the point when it came to time & cost needed to fix my car. They gave me 500 dollar discount because of my costco membership.
I have never expected professional work and let me know what is wrong and what are the options. I have been going there for years. They tell the truth and the price is decent. I dont complain about the work or the service from the staff. Thank you Almar auto.
As owner of Almar I take pride in being able to offer the services that we do. Its a pleasure to serve old customers as well as new customers. Thank you for your faith in us!
I was really displeased with the customer service and repairs to my vehicle. Rusty was completely rude and unprofessional to me and I questioned the ethics behind what I was charged and it made me lose trust in any repairs they suggested. So much so that I decided to get a new vehicle rather than letting them continue to work on mine. I felt as though they were attempting to take advantage of my situation and suggest what was best for their shop and not necessarily for their customer. I will never return here, nor would I ever recommend someone come here.
June 2021:Everyone I encountered was unprofessional.Poor customer service. I asked for details regarding my car repair and no one would call me back with the information.
Always best care for my car
My price was very fair . I love the care and respect they all shared towards me and each other and the customers on the phone and in person people skills are a 5star service.
Have been with them for 4 years and have always taken very good care of me and my car. They are honest, straightforward, and very friendly. Highly recommend to anyone! So grateful for everything theyve done for me and my car.
Great customer service!!
Great guys. Straight forward and honest. Easy to do business with.
Mike, Rusty and team always do an amazing job. They are always very transparent with any additional repairs that need to be done. I always receive a call if they encounter additional items needing repair unlike other mechanics I’ve been to. There’s also no pressure and there’s no trying to up sell you on services! Thanks as always for a great job
I bought my 2011 range rover sport here... Ive always done all service and maintenance with Land Rover until now... The truck feels great and the price was great too...
Always pleased. Quality work. Easy to communicate with.
Rusty and his team at Almar Auto are the best in town. We have been working with them for over a year and we are very happy with the work they have done for us. They are SPEEDY, HONEST, & most importantly DEPENDABLE! We no longer take our vehicles to the dealership to get repaired....We go the Almar instead. Please check them out!
I could not be any happier with the service I got from this place.I had a timing chain issue which is a very expensive repair on my car. Not because of the parts but because you have to practically take half the car apart to get to it.Mike was upfront with me about everything including letting me know that I could probably drive my car for another year in its condition but I would not pass emissions and it would have to eventually be repaired.I was told the repair would take about two days and guess what? It was done in two days. Actually a few hours before. When I picked it up I noticed a squeaking that was not there before. He suspected a little fluid got onto the timing belt but if it was still squeaking after a week, I could bring it back and theyd take care of it.It continued to to squeak and so I brought it back a few weeks later.True to their word the replaced the fan belt, which was the source of the noise, at no charge and even threw in an oil change. My car is humming along like the day I bought it now.I hope I dont have anything else but routine maintenance from here until Im ready to get a newer vehicle. But, I wont hesitate to give these guys a call and turn over my car to them for any future maintenance.
These people will lie to and about you.
Quick and easy doing business here.
I spoke with the owner Rusty and I told him my problem with my back brake tail lights were coming on, but I wasnt hitting the brake pedal at the time they were on. He listened and told me to bring my car in, they quickly got my car in and found the issue and gave me an estimate total. So I gave them permission to do the repairs. I am very satisfied with the service that was provided. I very much recommend Almar Auto Repair for your automotive repairs; and I will be returning for any future repairs that I may have. GG
I drive a ’98 Lincoln Mark VIII and one of the headlights on it blew out. The car, albeit old and rather outdated, holds a special place in my heart as it was a hand-me-down from a family member who passed a few years ago. I called every Ford/Lincoln dealership within a 50 mile radius but no one would help me find a replacement light or other solution. I called Lincoln only to find out that the high density lights were no longer in production and likely unavailable – my only option would be hoping a junkyard had the car with a functioning headlight. I called obsolete parts manufacturers and (very unfriendly) vintage part dealers with no success. Finally, I called Mike at ALMAR and explained my situation. He offered to take a look at the car and see what they could do. Finally, someone who cared!Turns out, there are after-market lights that can be installed in my car so that not only will I have a working headlight, if the light ever goes out again, I’ll be able to replace it without searching half the country. The lights have been ordered and the team will install them when they come in.I cannot thank Mike and the team at ALMAR enough for helping find an affordable solution for my car. I’m looking forward to having the new lights installed and working with ALMAR for many years to come. I would highly recommend ALMAR to anyone needing work done on their car, especially if every other option has left you completely hopeless. The team is knowledgeable, informed, resourceful, fair and friendly. If only it was an option, I would give them 10 stars!
Rusty Berger And Mike did the work on my Toyota Camry le 2003 head gasket leak with coolant dripping from the engine. They did the repairs for about $2989 took around 12 days but they have done a very professional job. My car runs like new . Silent engine smooth running and yet has the power for a car having 138000 miles on it. I recommend this repair shop as they do a very honest professional job and guarantee the work done which even the Toyota dealer service centers don’t give.Over all great experience with race car builders. Thanks Rusty, Mike on a job well done saved me from totaling my car.
Took my truck here for vacuum leak..3 trips....spent almost 5k and still have the vacuum leak.... and rebuilt transmission that works....ok...not great but ok....Is there ANY mechanics to be trusted??? Please let me know...Please. I will never go back...Take your vehicle somewhere else!
Great places I took my car for ac they fixed probably they are great experience skills thx guys
I took my Camry a couple of days ago and I am very happy they gave me a fair price for 4 tires and alignment!! I will tell my friends! Thanks guys!
Great guys there. Mike and the team take care of all of our cars. Thanks guys
I have been going to the shop since 2016 when I lived near S blvd, and still go there for ALL my car needs even after moving away. I entrust them with the care for my car from the basic oil change, to brake pads/rotors and much more. They do an excellent job while saving you the most money. As a female, it is a constant struggle to find a great mechanic that has the best intent and is not just there to take your money. I am happy I was able to find this place early on. I have recommended it to my other friends as well. Overall, it is a small shop that does great work.
They did a great job on installing a new clutch for my car now it drives like its brand new thank you so much!!
Mike and his team are outstanding! My Hondas AC compressor needed replacement and they got it done within a few hours of calling, for significantly less than it would normally cost for a Honda. Also, the new compressor included a two year warranty! Very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and quick! Now my go-to repair shop when Im in Charlotte! I highly recommend them!!! Thank you!!!
These guys are genuine and their service is great. Like a lot of people, Ive been screwed by many auto shops and mechanics, but these guys seem to understand that the lifetime value of a customer is more important than making a quick buck.
Ive lived in Charlotte for 5 years and I have come to Almar Auto every time I need anything done to my car. They are trustworthy and candid and will always give you good advice on what course of action to take. I really appreciate the work they do, Rusty, Mike, and everyone else who works there.
In the past few years that I’ve been coming to ALMAR, Rusty and staff have always provided quality service. Although I don’t know much about cars, Rusty & his team explain everything I need to know. Will come back again.
I thank Almighty God for the service Id received from ALMAR Auto Repair. Their customer service was great, their service was fast and convenient for me when my power steering went out on my 2012 Malibu. Now Im riding with ease and I am safe. Thank you Rusty and your family for your service..
Long-time customer. Friendly atmosphere. Honest and dependable. We have four autos that are serviced by Almar. Would not think about frequenting another establishment for maintenance and repair work. Unlike the chains, Almar does not suggest repair(s) unless absolutely needed. Pricing is reasonable and there is no need for a second opinion. Work is done as stated and completed as agreed. I have referred numerous customers and all have expressed gratitude. Cant say enough about my experiences with Almar. The owner is active in the day-to-day management and activities of the business and is always available if needed. Try it!
I have taken dozens of cars for years to Rusty and the guys. They always treat me well and I feel taken care of. Most of all, being that I am very car knowledgeable, they are honest .
I began using ALMAR because of the great reviews and was not disappointed. Friendly honest staff and great pricing.
Mike and Rusty did an excellent job on my car. I was informed during the process of my car repairs, great customer service and my car drives better than ever!!
By far one of the best experiences I’ve had dealing with repair shops. Rusty was super helpful and honest with me the entire time my vehicle was in the shop. Called me with updates regularly and asked my permission before moving forward with repairs. Problem has been fixed. Nothing but good words, very satisfied!
Staff was so amazing and helpful fixed my car promptly and gave me a better deal than quoted. I definitely found my new auto repair shop!
Almar always has wonderful customer service and they are very honest and trustworthy. On at least one occasion Ive taken a vehicle in because a service light was on, and when they found that I had accidentally pushed a button or the light just wasnt reset, I was out in 5 minutes free of charge. They work quickly, Mary always greets you with a smile and a kind word, and Ive never had to wait more than three days to get an appointment. Would highly recommend!
Such a great auto shop! Fast and friendly service & the prices are great! I dont feel like I am being taken advantage of. Highly recommend :)
Gary was awesome!
STAY AWAY!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO NO ONE. They only thing they have done is stress me out. My car was sitting at their shop for almost 2 months before they finished it. Thats not the problem, what Im annoyed about is after they said the car was fixed. I asked when can I pick it up and they told me i cant because the control arm is messed up and tried to blame the tow man. Then they want to sit up there and charge me over $500 to get it fixed. I just paid them over $4000 to get my transmission fixed. The tow company has already told me they are not responsible, which I dont blame them because they dropped the car off a long time ago. These people refuse to pay for the damage to my car even though it was in their care. If I could I would give them 0 stars!!!! All they want is money.
I have been coming here for 4 years and the guys are great and very skilled at what they do. Kinda disappointed in the coffee selection, but hey, beggers cant be choosers 🤣🤣
I took my vehicle there about 3 weeks ago because my AC was blowing hot air. They diagnosed my problem, claiming I had 2 separate leaks and would need $1,300 in repairs. Needless to say I was stressed, but I trusted these people. I have taken my vehicle there for the last 4 years. Fortunately, before I left I found out ownership switched not too recently.I ended up taking my vehicle elsewhere, and had it fixed for $100. The other mechanic showed me how there werent any leaks. I went back to Almar to ask for my deposit back, assuming they messed up royally and werent thieves, and was treated incredibly rudely by the owner, Rusty. He wouldnt look at me, tossed the receipt around, and told me something along the lines of give him his money back, but when your AC goes bad in 1-2 weeks....Its been 3 1/2 weeks and my AC still is blowing ice-cold air. NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. They are either cheats, liars, and thieves, or so grossly incompetent that they could accidentally cost you $1200 extra in repairs.
As I mentioned to Rusty on the phone this morning, I am cheap. I hate paying $$$$ for things like car repairs. However, this week I brought my 2006 Toyota Highlander in for a pre-road trip check. Among the problems was a hum in the rear of the vehicle. I had to replace the wheel bearings. which wasnt cheap, but it was the best value for money. My car drives like a dream. I can honestly say that Im grateful to have my car back in tip top shape.
Almar is wonderful! My family has been going to Almar for years, and when I moved to Charlotte, I only take my car into Almar too. Mary, Andy and the staff are very, very friendly, knowledgeable and upfront with everything. They even worked me as a walk-in one day when my battery died. I called and Mary said to come by, and I was there for maybe 20 minutes. Almar really cares about their customers and do everything they can to help. I would definitely recommend Almar!
I have been going to Almar Auto for over 4 years now. It has been one of the best decisions I ever made. They are honest and have integrity - their prices are fair and reasonable and their work is excellent. I am a transplant from the North with very little family here. I feel like I am talking to my Dad or my uncles when Andy gives me advice. Recently I had 4 worn tires and with 2 nails in one of them. Andy recommended a few tire options, took time to explain the differences plus even gave me the name of a direct tire dealer where I could possibly save a few dollars. I opted to stick with family and my car is back to riding smooth!! Thanks guys!
I’ve been going to ALMAR for around 10 years and I’ve never been disappointed. What I like best is their honesty and prices. I’ve gone to a dealer for warranty or recall work or gone to an oil change place that was closer to my office, and been told I needed to have X work done. I told them not to do it and then I took it to ALMAR for their input. Sometimes ALMAR has agreed with them, but there have been several occasions when ALMAR said there’s nothing wrong with my car.
This is my second time going to ALMAR and Im never looking back. This is the place to go to in Charlotte to get ANYTHING on your vehicle fixed. The first time, I needed my shocks replaced and other places wanted to charge me over 2k and keep my car for a week.... Rusty fixed my car in a few hours and it only cost around 700. They also gave me some tips on how to better maintain my car and what might need to get done in the future + options. Today I dropped my car off because the heat wasnt working and Mike diagnosed and fixed my car in less than 3 hours and it was the cheapest price out of all the places I looked at as well. 11/10 recommend. Mike and Rusty are so nice, truly helpful and you can tell that they genuinely enjoy what they do and want to help you (not scam you).Dont bother with anywhere else, this is where its at for reliable, affordable and quality car work!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help this past week. For anyone reading, I live out of state, had an issue with my 2001 Explorer with 109,000 miles. I leave the vehicle here in NC and fly in monthly. I had no idea who to call. I did a google search and read some of Almars reviews and called. We arranged to have my car towed to Almar. Andys communication was excellent, he evaluated the issue and also advised me of the condition of my front brakes, which I already knew. He never tried to sell me anything I didnt need to stay safe. There was no pressure and the work was excellent. And to top it off, this was ALL done by phone. They finished the car as promised, left it out front for me the night I flew in and I just took a cab over to pick it up. Long story short....too late...I would highly recommend Almar Auto for your repairs. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and they took great care of me.....and Im picky. Thanks for doing it right the first time!
Rusty and his team are Great!! The entire experience was straight forward and fair. A honest auto repair shop is a rare and valuable commodity, and I do believe I have found a Gem!!
Rusty and his crew are fantastic. I came in with a destroyed tire and rim, and not only did they get the job done as quickly as possible, they also fixed the bent rim in lieu of replacing it, which I was thankful for on such an old car. The price quoted was fair and reasonable, and it was what I paid after service was complete. Thanks guys- very well done!
Great shop!!! Rusty & his crew were so helpful! They explained EVERYTHING and took care of my car issues without gouging the prices. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Would recommend them for ANY car repair and/or problem!!!!!
Superb service and extremely friendly. I was in the Charlotte area on vacation with my wife and two small kids and on the day we were scheduled to leave, we had a mechanical problem with our van. I called Almar Auto Repair and they worked it into their schedule and got us back on the road that same afternoon. Mary, the front desk lady, was so friendly and the owner, Andy, treated me like a lifelong friend and customer. I highly recommend this establishment.
Rusty and Mike at the front desk have always found a way to get it in and get it done. Thanks to the whole crew for there exceptional work.
Super nice people. Was just having trouble getting my license plate screws removed, called them up and they just had me stop by and cranked them off for me. Had never been there before, they didnt ask for any payment, just said Have a nice day, but I will for sure be going back in the future.
I can read the racist face of this owner while I was waiting for my car in the waiting room. He has a face for brown skin color and an other face for light skin color. He was not pleasant with me at all even of my level of protocols and good manners. He gave me attitude at the moment I say « good morning « .Moreover, they miss fixed the car I had to go back for the same problem then he refused to give me a receipt to mention what he gets done this time.
Almar has great service! My father and I both have Range Rovers, and any time we need work done we definitely take our babies to Almar! Great service on our vehicles and even better customer service! Thanks!
I travel in from out of town to Charlotte several days a week. I had a terrible noise coming from the rear end of my automobile as I pulled off the interstate. Called ALMAR frantically and they fit me in right away, determined that the problem was something that could be fixed simply (although it was also something that could have killed me driving at highway speeds) and didnt even charge me the labor!!! While I wouldnt expect THAT sweet a deal regularly I will concur with other reviewers that their prices are certain fair and I would trust them to charge me only for what I need. Ive never had that kind of courtesy and care out of any other repair shop.
I generally do not trust of mechanics BUT these guys are great and honest people. I appreciate everything they have done for my family! Will not/would not take my car anywhere else!!!
Great mechanic shop, you will NOT be disappointed. The price is reasonable, the advice is honest, and you get personalized service from the owner. I would highly recommend his mechanic shop and its the only place I will go to from now on.
From the get-go, Almar Auto impressed me with their quick response to schedule me in for a service and also explain to me what work needed to be done. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. One of the reasons I came in was for my headlights - they were so fogged over it was difficult to drive at night. I asked them if I needed new headlights; they offered to instead buff out the headlights and were able to bring them back to like-new quality - which was much more affordable than buying brand new ones. I definitely trust these folks to work on my vehicle and recommend them to friends and family who are in need of a dependable auto shop they can trust.
Almar Auto Repair has saved me over $1000 in the last 4 months just by being honest. When other places told me that I need repairs I truly did not need, Almar Auto took the time to check over everything that they had said was wrong to let me know that there was nothing wrong at all! If more companies operated with the honesty and care that Almar Auto Repair does, the world (and people within) would be more trusting of each other and greed would never be an issue. Thank you to Andy for operating such a great company and ensuring great customer service to each and every customer. Andy, I wish I could give you more than 5 stars, but I WILL continue to have my oil changed, tires changed, repairs done, etc. at Almar Auto Repair.
Rusty and his team are AWESOME!! Very honest, great work, and awesome pricing! Woodie’s Auto-Ballantyne was trying to charge me $1,047 for a fuel pump for my car. So I called around to compare pricing and I spoke to Kimberly at Almar. She was super friendly and took my info to have Rusty (owner) call me back. He called me back just 10 mins later and quoted $580 for the exact same service that Woodie’s was going to do for $1,047!! They are contracted with a towing company which was only $75 to get my car towed from Woodie’s. Which saved me another $25 instead of using my roadside!! I was VERY excited to have my car done in no time! I would recommend them to everyone!! And will definitely be going back for future work done on my car in the future!! My new go to for my car! 🤗
Andy was awesome and informative about my car and knew his stuff. Ran out of battery on my phone. Took the time to get me a charger from the back to charge it. Pricing was fair and he let you know everything up front. Very friendly as well.
Friendly, Professional Customer Service!Rusty and Mike let you know they appreciate the trust placed in them to fix whats wrong with your car. Thats the best experience a customer can leave with!
Almar was very helpful, friendly and HONEST. They were such a big help after I went to Firestone and tried to install a new battery into my car for $375 when nothing was wrong with my old one. Plus, Firestone charged me to test my battery. I am definitely taking my car back to Almar from now on, love them!
Great experience. Rusty and team provide timely and professional service. Highly recommend.
Great, friendly, informative, quality service!Went here because Im new to area and read all of the great reviews. Met and exceeded my expectations. Tried another shop in the Charlotte area (good reviews but low amount) and they quoted me almost 2000.00! Andy was very helpful and Matt was extremely informative, turns out what the other shop suggested was not even the issue!! They charged a third of the price and didnt find all those other things, but did make recommendations for future repairs. Definitely recommend and Im going back for future repairs. Thanks Almar Auto!
My son recently moved to Charlotte and had driven my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee there from Omaha, Nebraska. My son called and said it was making a vibrating sound/noise, so I needed to find a reputable service shop to work on it. I searched the web for reputable shops in Charlotte and Almar Auto Repair came up. I had my son take it in to be evaluated and diagnosed. Mike told him what they found to be the problem and quoted him a price (of course my son didn’t have the money). So I contacted Mike and discussed the findings, and I believed they were probably correct in the diagnosis of it. I am not a certified mechanic, but I have done a lot of work on cars, and with YouTube you can also find lots of information, so I felt pretty good about their diagnosis. Remember, I am 17-18 hours away in Nebraska, so to feel like I could trust them to fix my Jeep, honestly and at a fair price, was extremely comforting and important. I talked with Mike on the phone, paid with a credit card over the phone, and had my son pick it up. It has been 3 weeks and the old Jeep is running great again, 160,000 plus miles on it.I would highly recommend Almar, even though I wasn’t at the shop, I feel like I know them personally, that’s how good they were! Thanks Mike and everyone that works at Almar!
They were perfect. Honest, did a good job on the repairs, and three weeks later (today) they just called me back to see if it was working alright. If every company based their customer service off of these guys, there would be world peace.
Professional and pleasant experience even though they are all grumpy old men🤣
These are honest guys. I have a car thats over 200,000 miles and they usually let me know what repairs are worth doing and whats expected from a car with that many miles - meaning I should just live with it. Theyre friendly too which is a plus.
Popped in to get an SRS light diagnosed and repaired. Turned out to be a stored code. They cleared it for me in 10 minutes and didnt charge me a dime. Awesome shop. Highly recommended.
Four of my clients recommended Almar Auto Service, so I checked it out on the internet. Impressed with the reviews I made an appointment for my wifes car and mine. Both times they have been absolutely amazing. They think quickly on their feet, are accommodating and honest. I have never seen so many people walk into a car repair shop with a smile. I have to say my own personal experience was fantastic as well. They are reasonable in price and dont suggest unnecessary repairs. I definitely recommend them to friends and clients.
Good and fast service. I brought my own fluid there and they charge a much lower price. Very nice guys.
When I lived in Charlotte, I took my Nissan Altima to Andy for ~4 years. Great service and excellent work. I had many different repairs with my car over the years as I had 115,000 when I bought it and about 190,000 by the time I moved away from Charlotte. I never had to bring the car back to Andy more than once for the same repair . Most important, I appreciate the honest in all the repairs, never got pushed to do work when not needed or work that seemed unnecessary. The car is still running and hit 210,000 miles, no issues. Thanks for all the work!
I went looking for a mechanic for my 2000 VW New Beetle on the web and read about many shops in Charlotte. The one who caught my eye was the one who described themselves as “LGBTQ Friendly.” I was amazed and impressed that a shop would put that in their description.I had been quoted an enormous amount to fix my car so I went to Almar for an estimate. Rusty, the owner, was a very pleasant and honest gentleman. As were everyone I came in contact there. They fixed my car for a reasonable price and I have returned many times since. This is a kind and nonbiased shop and they are friendly to all who come through their doors. I’m really glad I was one of them!!
2008 GMC Acadia - the transmission went out at 80k miles. I took the car to Almar at the suggestion of our local shop. Almar is lucky to have Mary as she was friendly, efficient and beyond helpful. There was no sales job to have the transmission fixed when it was confirmed it would have to be completely replaced and she even offered suggestions on reliable makes and models when I told her we were going to replace the car instead of fixing it. It really was a pleasure dealing with Mary and Almar in general. If we didnt already have a local shop right down the street that we trusted, I would definitely make the drive into Charlotte to Almar for all my auto needs.
I found EVERY social media network to post good reviews after my first Almar experience. Car repair is always tough but you can expect great communication honesty and fair pricing.
This place is the best .. Mike is a true pro with any kind of car .. the best part is you feel good about the work and the price .. been to alot of places and didnt feel good about the price or the work that was done ..
Over the years Ive always had a great experience with Almar. Honest service, quality work and fair pricing. First with Andy and now with Rusty. Rusty and the guys always goes above and beyond. Im proud to consider Rusty a friend as well. Make sure to give some love to Axle the sweet shop doggie. 🐶
These guys are awesome. They work quickly and efficiently and Ive never had to bring back a car to redo work that they performed. Their prices are quite reasonable and their staff members are friendly. I couldnt ask for more than that.
Wouldnt take my car anywhere else in Charlotte. These guys know their stuff.
Very upfront and honest shop here. Mary was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. They saved me quite a bit of money based off of what other shops were offering around the area so I will definitely return if I encounter more problems.
Great experience. Fast service, good price
I have been taking my cars to Almar for years. They are extremely trustworthy and honest about repairs you do or do not need. They just saved me a ton of money on a used car. I challenge you to find a more honest mechanic than Andy!
I was told by Goodyear that I needed about $400 worth of work on my car so took it to Almar Auto for a second opinion. Turns out I didn’t need anything to be done at all! These guys also helped me figure out there was a Lysol can underneath my seat causing a mysterious clicking noise ;). Highly recommend and mechanics you can trust!
I was traveling from North Dakota for a conference when I broke down. Trusting a mechanic in a town so far from home can be a scary thing. Not the case here! Rusty bent over backwards going WAY above and beyond to take care of me and my family and make sure I was back on the road before this weekend saving our family trip. VERY honest VERY professional VERY friendly. Rusty and crew are a true testament to their profession.
Excellent service, I had a power steering issue and it was fixed promptly. They were fair and told me exactly what the problem was, and avoided charging me more by telling me what needed to be done if the issue got worse. I highly recommend their services and will go back to them in the future.
We have been taking our cars to Almar Auto since we moved to the area last year. They are super friendly and always manage to fit us in. Great price, great repairs!
Wonderful service! Was passing through Charlotte on vacation with my family and the SUV started making weird noises. I showed up at Almar at 4:30 on Friday. After Andy found out that we were in a bind and trying to get home, he went into action. He and his master mechanic quickly diagnosed a failing hub assembly, found one, and installed it. The pricing was fair and the quality of the work excellent. Highly recommend!
I don’t know why the ratings for this place are so high. Dropped my car off for a diagnostic and ended up getting quoted $450 on 1 hour of labor for a total bill of $840. That’s right, over half the bill is for labor!! As labor pricing is at the discretion of the shop, I was shocked! To make matters worse, Rusty, the owner, tried to charge me $45 for a diagnostic (which he failed to mention in the beginning). Just awful. In conclusion, don’t bring your car in for a diagnostic because you will get charged, just don’t bring your car here AT ALL. 0 stars.
ALMAR is the place to go for car repair. The Customer Service Associate Mary is just awesome to work with! I have had my Mustang worked on a few times. I just had my 1984 Corvette worked on. The thing runs like champ. I highly recommend this place. The only place I take my cars.
