Even when I tried to look at cars a little less pricey she redirected me back to what I said I wanted and urged me not to be defeated before even attempting to purchase the BMW X6 that had my eye. Recently purchased brand New golf cart from Formula Imports, Oct 2020. Customer service (Tina) during purchasing was amazing. Worked a great deal, paid in full and it was delivered right to my door. Delivery went smooth, but was raining during drop off. Later the same day, when I took it for a first spin I noticed deep scratches on the side that were touched up with paint and the top of the roof that was severely damaged. Surprised that a businesses with a good reputation would allow this to slide. Reached back out to Tina...no response or resolution. Reach out to the Manager (Alex) who responded, but never responded back with a resolution (ignored). Well, just paid to have it fixed locally and Formula One Imports lost all credibility for a lifetime. I would NOT purchase any golf cart from this company if you expect to receive New condition, nor would I trust them with anything further. The true value of a business is how they work together to resolve issues with a customer when they arise, not how they help you close the deal. Tina earned her two stars, but this company will earn nothing else from me.

I purchased a BMW M5 from this facility. The car was as described. I did receive what I would consider to be a good deal on the car. They gave me a good deal on my trade-in. So ultimately I got what I wanted. But there were multiple problems in completing the deal. The car delivery was done by having someone drive the car across state lines to my location. I thought that was unprofessional. The car should have been flatbed transported. The car on arrival was not properly detailed. It took me over two hours to clean the car on arrival to have it at the state that it should have been upon delivery. After that they were tremendous problems in completing the registration for the vehicle. It dissolved into a prolonged nightmare. That was accentuated by selective ghosting of my email inquiries as to the status. They also then stated that problems were beyond their control and due to the state processing. This was not true as proven later when I bought another car six weeks later and received the registration well before the registration for this vehicle. But I think ultimately they were trying to help. I personally would not buy another car from them. But I think it is very possible that another person could have a very good experience with them. This may have just been an isolated unfortunate situation.

100% regret my decision to purchase a car here. I came to Formula One to purchase my first car after relocating from Chicago to Charlotte. I unfortunately worked with Carlos. The purchasing part was fine.My issues came after my purchase. I took the car out for the first time a couple days after purchasing when I noticed a large dent above the left rear tire. I went online to check the stock photos on the website. Sure enough the dent was in those photos (meaning I did not cause it).I texted Carlos on Monday morning with a photo of the dent asking if they would fix it since it was there prior to purchase (he claims he didn’t see it before selling the car, but James said the car was priced with the dent…meaning Carlos lied to my face). I should have inspected the car more closely, but with it being my first car purchase (alone), I had many distractions/worries.Unfortunately, I put too much trust in Carlos that he would be completely honest with me about any issues with the car (now I’m nervous about what other issues he didn’t tell me about).He said he would reach out to his boss and see what he said, which was a disappointing answer, but I said ok. I followed up multiple times after that for an answer and kept getting pushed aside for 5 days.Finally, James reached out on Friday and told me they would fix it, but not before making it seem like he was doing me a favor since I just moved here (instead of them just doing the right thing since Carlos clearly chose to not tell me about a known issue with the car to get the sale).The frustration continued when my temporary license plate/registration were about to expire. I reached out to Carlos 4 days before expiration and he said he would send a replacement since my official ones weren’t in yet. Never received anything. Reached out again a day before they were set to expire and was asked to bring the car in the next day. I brought it in, they did the inspection, but the registration couldn’t be processed. Carlos told me someone would bring me either new temp plates or the real thing that evening or the next day.Fast forward to the next day, (when the plates/registration were officially expired so I could no longer drive the car). I reached out to Carlos multiple times for updates/plan of action (starting at 10am). Eventually, I received a call at 6pm letting me know they still couldn’t process the registration and that they would bring me new temp plates by 7pm. Waited until 8pm (missed dinner with friends) for them to be brought to me.Seems like they’re great during the initial purchase, but if you have any issues post-purchase (after they have your money), you’re screwed. Don’t expect a timely resolution, good communication, nor truthful answers.What frustrates me the most is that I skipped a great deal on the same car in NY because I had grown to trust Carlos and thought it would be better to buy the car locally and have a spot I could take the car to that I trusted.What should’ve been an exciting and proud moment [buying my first car], turned out to be the worst and most frustrating first car buying experiences I could’ve imagined (despite my efforts to stay positive/patient). Carlos puts on a nice guy act until the purchase goes through and then his true character comes out after. He never once tried to apologize or take responsibility for anything. I don’t have many regrets in life, but this car purchase from Carlos is high on the list.I would never recommend anyone to purchase a car here, especially not from Carlos.

I bought the car at Formula One just because it looked like new, but after a couple of months when I wiped the steering wheel with a cloth and water, it turned out that the steering wheel was damaged and subsequently painted and the color fell off at the top of the steering wheel. After complaining, no one wanted to fix this or cover the cost of the repair. I also had another problem with them...I was told that the battery was definitely weak and they wanted to charge me over $ 400, but after going to another mechanic it turned out that the battery was perfectly fine. When I told them what had happened and brought proof, no one even tried to make it good. I will definitely not buy a car from them again. Watch out guys what youre buying!

The experience was not terrible but let me explain why it was decent. I came with a preapproval from my bank. I told the salesmen that I did not want multiple places running my credit. Not only did they lie about my credit score they lied about the entire financing process. I was told that “they have their own credit union and it’s easier to just work through their credit union because F1 would have complete control over payments vs having to deal with a middle man. It sounded like bologna but at this point I was tired, its late, my son is restless, this was the third dealership I went to, and I was ready to go. They ended up running my credit and capital one financed me not their supposed credit union. I wasn’t even going to write a review just simply not do business with them anymore until I got home and was going through my mail to see that ANOTHER place ran my credit from their company. That simply pushed me over the edge because the story telling was completely unprofessional. Next, I told them my concerns about the vehicle. After purchasing it, the vehicle supposedly passed the safety inspection. After making numerous complaints to my salesman and taking it to the manufacture dealership we found out that a strut needed to be replaced and that the roaters were rusted to hell. Luckily the nice and empathetic technician that they have on site drove with me to see what I was talking about to know that I was not exaggerating. They ended up fixing the brakes & roaters but it shouldn’t have taken me to complain as much as I did for the issue to get resolved. I honestly felt in my spirit that coming here was the right decision but the lying about the financing process and the process of getting the roaters replaced really left a sour taste in my mouth. In no way do I want to harm the business because everyone has a different experience. Overall, now that the vehicle is fixed it is nice and i’m satisfied but I had to share because as a business owner I would like to know where I can improve. Good luck Formula One Imports.

I purchased a GLK 350 Mercedes Benz on 11/23/2020. Alex was very transparent and very professional. The car was clean and the drivers were seasoned (which I liked) because they drove the speed limit. They delivered my car FREE of charge. My mechanic inspected the vehicle and was impressed. 8 month Update with new screenshots! Below is my updates with my experience with Formula One Imports. TAXES: Like everyone else, I paid taxes upon purchasing my vehicle. As weeks went by my DMV called to inform me that my paperwork arrived for my new vehicle. I proceeded to my DMV to finalize my purchase. When I finish signing the applicable documents, the clerk told me that the dealership didn’t send the correct amount for my taxes. She investigated and stated that I paid the correct amount to the dealership, but the dealership sent close to $200 less than I paid. I had to call Formula One Imports several times and explain the issue. Finally I was passed to Justin. To make a long story short I had to be reimbursed over $175. I was promised an overnight check, but the check was sent regular mail. HIDDEN DENT: I was skeptical in purchasing a vehicle with a Vinyl Wrap. Upon receipt, I walking up my driveway I noticed a dent on the bottom middle of the tailgate. I hadn’t sold my Tahoe at the time. I was looking at the tag on my Tahoe, because I was going to transfer it to my Suburban. I spoke with Julian Martinez about the dent. I informed him about all the issues I was having with Formula One Imports. Julian offered me $100 for the dent. His reasoning was, because that is what it will cost him to fix. $100 to remove a vinyl wrap, repair a dent, then reapply new “3M” vinyl wrap. I couldn’t believe it. That’s over $1000 out of my pocket. I voiced my thoughts and let him know that he knows I can’t get it fixed for $100. EXT WARRANTY ISSUES: In less than 2 months, I refinanced my vehicle with a local bank for a much better rate. Once I received my payoff letter, it stated that if I purchased an extended warranty, to call the dealership to cancel the warranty etc. I reached out to Justine again. I provided the information that he needed. I was told I would get my refund within 30-45 days. Well that didn’t happen. I had to follow up countless times. It was the worst experience I had to go through to retrieve my $2500+. I even had to speak with the warrant manager at Continental (Joe). Finally I get my check and the cancellation papers from Continental. Again another error. The warranty states that when I purchased my vehicle the odometer read 45, 950 mi. That’s 3,228 mi less that what my vehicle had when I received it. As the picture shows, but it makes it look like I drove 4,264 mi in 58 days. So again I felt screwed by Formula One Imports. Again I had to reach out to Julian on the matter. Julian and Joe were chatting via text message. Joe was upset that I found another error in their process and proceeded to ask Julian “Is this guy for real”? Why wouldn’t I be for real if I’m having issue after issue with one vehicle purchase?*CHEAP VINYL WRAP: Around the middle of May when the temp started to rise, I notice the roof of the vehicle’s vinyl wrap was cracking badly. This is less than 3 months of owning the vehicle. I went to my local tint shop to have them look at it. To make another long story short the vinyl wrap starting in front of the luggage rack was completely shot. The vinyl that was used was cheap. It’s was so cheap that it couldn’t be remove properly. They had to order special supplies that’s used for older RVs to try to remove it. My vehicle was there for over a month. I had to get my vehicle back to go out of town so it’s still not complete. I took a few pictures this morning just for a visual. The hood of the vehicle started to crack as well. I had to replace that for $400, $700 just for the roof. I’m looking at $1100. I will never do business again with Formula One Imports. I’m just one person, so I can imagine the overlooked errors that other people go through or even overlook themselves. I’m a software engineer so my thought process can be kind of technical and if it doesn’t makes sense, my mind won’t let it rest. Heck I’m still waiting on Julian to send me my $20 for the mileage error. (Only had 4000 characters I could use) I had to take a lot out.

Formula One Imports has amazing vehicles in fantastic condition. Chris Harmon was great! Pricing is competitive and the service was exceptional. They are more concerned with your happiness opposed to just making a sale. Definitely not your typical car sales experience. Chris even delivered keys and paperwork to my home. It actually made the process fun. Great first time pre-owned car experience!

It seems they mostly deal with high end performance and luxury vehicles, but occasionally they have the odd-ball used sports car that is perfect for people like me.

I recently bought a Porsche 911 from formula one imports. The staff there is amazing, Patrick Lindemann was my sales professional. He was very thorough and thoughtful throughout my process of getting my car. I honestly can’t say enough about the staff there. I highly recommend this auto dealer for your next car.

Most of the reviews here are for purchases, so let me write a review about selling through Formula.Unlike almost any kind of dealership (traditional, online, or Tesla), Formula does not buy your car / you dont trade it in to Formula; instead, you sell your car as a consignment through Formula. They take a very reasonable fee for the sale - a fee that is vastly smaller than the bid-ask spread for most car trade-ins. Formula has the tremendous advantage of being a dealer in this transaction - in that a perspective buyer will find the car on a dealers lot on autotrader, and a dealer thats super highly reviewed at that. Moreover, Formula is very close to a few major luxury dealers (BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi, etc.) and they are totally cool with pre-purchase inspections, giving potential buyers peace of mind. Basically you as a seller get the benefit of selling your car through a dealer while paying a fraction of the usual bid-ask spread.Of course a minor disadvantage of that is that you dont get your money immediately. If you trade your car into Carmax or Vroom, you get your money very quickly. However when you sell through Formula, you obviously do need to wait for a buyer to show up, buy the car, and for the entire transaction to go through multiple banks and for the title to move. This probably will take a few weeks at least. However assuming you dont need to to get the money immediately, the amount you gain for selling through Formula is tremendous. I recently sold my car through Formula and ended up getting several thousand dollars more than if I had traded the car in. You are likely to see similar benefits on most 30k+ car sales.At the end, this is a unique business with an amazing business model. I only wish I had discovered the place sooner.

I had an excellent experience purchasing my lr4 from Formula One. My sales rep Alex, was an absolute pro! The car was in overall excellent condition, but since I had owned one previously I also knew the signs to look for when a suspension system may be wearing out. I called the old repair shop on the carfax and confirmed that although the car at the time was driving well and functioning, they had recommended that the control arm bushings be replaced before becoming more worn and causing other issues. Alex got approval from his manager and the repairs were agreed to be done. Note, they werent trying to sell me a vehicle and trying to get away with not repairing anything that needed it. The car functioned and would have been fine for a little while, they were/are NOT ROVER EXPERTS. That said, whenever I buy a used vehicle I get as much info as I can and either have a 3rd party inspect or get info from the last repair shop, like in this case. I believe in paying fair prices for products and being self employed I dont try to nickle/dime people. I paid full price for the car, WITH the repairs done because that was a good value to ME and clearly also to Formula One. Businesses grow when win/win situations occur and from what I can tell, this company tries to create happy repeat clients with a similar philosophy!Once the repairs were agreed to (which was quick and easy), the docs were drafted, the car and docs brought to me to be signed and we scheduled the repairs for a week later. The entire process from start to finish was smooth and everyone there was a pleasure to work with... And the car, is awesome! Ill definitely be looking at purchasing from Formula One in the future. Oh and they have some amazingly gorgeous, super cool vehicles to browse... Take a look at their inventory, youll fall in love with at least one I am sure. They only sell high quality, beautiful vehicles!

I purchased an 03 Audi RS6. I worked with Jimmy, Nathan and Aaron. I found the car on Cargurus and sent them an online message. Not 10 minutes later, Nathan calls me and introduces himself. From that moment on my experience with the Formula One Imports team just got better and better. Jimmy was a master at working out financing at a rate that was very competitive. Nathan kept in constant contact on the status of the purchasing process and Aaron made sure I was protected with Gap insurance for the worst case scenario that the car gets totaled. Once the deal was done I flew to Charlotte to collect the car. At the dealership I was greeted like an old friend. I checked out the car and found it to be in almost showroom condition. I drove 1,500 miles home and had the car inspected. No mechanical problems at all. In summary, Ive purchased probably 10+ vehicles over the last 30 years and never had such a positive experience. Formula One Imports are professional, obviously passionate about what they do and most importantly, they care about your satisfaction and not just the deal.

I bought a 2013 Camaro ZL1 from this company in Sept. 2020. They were professional from initial contact to taking delivery of the vehicle. Tina was a pleasure to work with and never pressured me for a decision. She did a good job in getting me the price I was willing to pay.Even though my car was not is the same league as their other cars ( Corvettes and McLarens) I was treated as if I was buying an exotic.I live 800 miles away and flew in to pick up the car and would gladly do it again. Bought a 2016 Lexus ES350 and had it delivered. 3 out of 4 tires were different brands, so I immediately had to replace them. I believe they had to know the tires didnt match. A few days later, the front bumper on the passenger side came loose. The bracket on the bumper was broken and there is a crack in the bumper. Im now checking into getting the bumper replaced. Its possible they were not aware of the bumper. The good thing is that so far the problems are not mechanical.

We just bought a 2019 4 Runner from Formula One Imports, and my wife and I drove away absolutely flabbergasted at the service we received. Over the past 6 years, Ive bought more than 5 cars from dealers in the Hendrick and Scott Clark auto groups. Every time Ive purchased from other dealers, we end up waiting for hours and hours while the sales person runs off to talk to managers or people that work in finance. Once you get through the sales department, you have a meeting with a finance manager who is pushing warranties, whether you need them or not, and Ive had a couple of finance people at these dealerships tell me flat out lies.Here, we sat at Tinas desk (who was a fantastic sales-person) for a couple of hours while Tina and the rest of the team got paperwork together. There was no dreaded trip to talk to the finance manager, and they didnt even mention any additional coverage other than what they thought we truly needed for the car.Finally, they have excellent pricing. My wife and I spent about 10 hours looking at different 4 Runners online before finding their dealership. For the mileage, year, and features of the 4 Runner, it was the best deal we came across. We received a great price and a fair deal on our trade. I highly recommend this dealership.

Tina worked with me over the phone to get most things taken care of before I got there. Very very friendly and didnt mine me asking questions. I bought an 2017 F250. It is in great condition and was less expensive than any other dealer in hundreds of miles and still has factory warranty. Justin knocked it out the park with the paperwork also and got me a great interest rate. It was quick without feeling rushed. In and out in an hour or less. Formula Imports was an excellent experience! I bought a 4runner here and these guys made the process very easy. Steven was great to work with and communicated with me for all the questions I had. He was always available by text or call and responded back very quickly. I had a door lock that needed to be fixed and Steven was very responsive to questions on the warranty and to get this part ordered asap. I would definitely recommend Formula Imports for a car purchase.
