Our AC failed at our Business earlier this week and we were directed to Ross & Witmer by our landlord. Their service technician, Mack, came out within a few hours to diagnose the problem (Dead Compressor). We were given options and pricing. When we decided to just replace the compressor, R&W gave us an estimate of Tu. 01 June. When I shared that we were experiencing 87 - 88 degrees in the store, they moved us up to Fri. 28 May. Mack once again was the service technician who did the install. He arrived promptly, got right to work and had us cooling down several hours later. I was impressed with Macks professionalism, knowledge and ability to communicate with me & my staff. I also appreciate R&Ws scheduling team who moved us up given the temperature of our store! This is true customer service!

Jerry McSwain and his team did a terrific job for me. Jerry came over late in the day on short notice to check out my aging outside hvac unit, which had been struggling for some time and had frozen up, walked me through photos of the rusting coils, explained my options from a practical and financial viewpoint. Jerry and his team then came the next day and installed my new unit, worked through some snags in the installation with practical solutions, and had my heat back on in a few hours. The team at Ross and Witmer were so great to work with when we needed 2 new ac and heating units. Jerry visited our home and advised on what would be the best units for the square footage of the house, the current units were way too small. On installation day, Cody and Scotty showed up early and got to work, they were able to get both units installed in one day. Cody and Scotty were very detailed and professional with every aspect of the install. I have to give an additional shout out to Jerry who usually only deals with sales, he came out and helped these guys with the install so they didnt have to work super late. I was very pleased with Jonathan’s professionalism and knowledge. Just a few hours after my call to request a service call on my a/c system, he arrived. He quickly diagnosed the problem and took care of it. I was impressed enough to sign up for an annual contract (spring and fall maintenance; lower prices should service be needed) on the spot. Out 20+ year old furnace recently failed. Jerry arrived within a few hours to assess the situation. He provided quotes to both repair and replace it entirely. Due to the systems overall age, we opted to replace the system. Darwin, Scotty and Victor arrived at 8 am sharp the next day. The install went smoothly (even in a very tight crawl space of a 1960s ranch), and our heat was up and running early that afternoon. The whole team was courteous and professional throughout their time here.

I called to schedule an appointment for my AC because it was not working. They had a repair man at my house within 3 Hrs. which was terrific and a life saver in this heat wave. I decided to use Ross and Witmer for installation of two new HVAC systems in my mid 1980s house. I got quotes from other companies but Ross and Witmer were much more responsive and helpful. In my most recent situation I had the AC go out in our room over the garage that we use for a home office. It was in the middle of the summer and I called them to see if they could repair the AC. They did and it worked for a few weeks and finally died. The unit was over 30 years old! I called them and said I think its time for a new system but they couldnt get to it for two or three weeks but said they would install a temporary system to get me by. I was stunned. Yes, they came and installed a temporary AC unit to cool my office until they could get in to install the new unit. They do great work, they show up when they say they will, they have very good technicians and the quality of work is excellent.

Ross & Witmer just finished a large project to address a climate control problem we had experienced since we moved into our new house (they were not the contractor who installed the system). They installed a new AC unit, installed or replaced 4 thermostats and completely redid the ductwork in one of our zones. They did all this with very minimal disturbance of our home life. They came with a complete plan, were professional, courteous and in and out in 3 and a half days. They left the workspace cleaner than they found it and most importantly, our system works better than we expected. What a wonderful experience! Our HVAC gave out on the hottest day of July, and on a Friday afternoon to boot. Jerry and his team figured out how to get us immediate relief until a new system could be ordered. The install went smoothly, the team was courteous, and gave us plenty of advanced notice for the scheduling. They also followed up to ensure everything was in order. The cost was more than fair, and there is even an option to finance.In this season of uncertainty and stress, it was a SUCH a relief to have a dependable, honest team to help us. I dont get the impression that anyone here (at least that I dealt with) has more than a basic understanding of HVAC, and the further up the ladder I tried to go, the worse it got. Its not the company it used to be. Prices are higher but quality is lower. Ill be finding another company with people that have the proper experience, knowledge, and skills.

I just recently had Ross & Witmer install a new HVAC system in my home and was extremely pleased with their service. Everyone, from the office staff to those who installed the new system, was professional and courteous. I would highly recommend them.

I used this company for installing a new HVAC system last year. Jerry seemed knowledgeable, however, the installation failed the inspection. They didn’t install the proper switch and failed another compliance item. The company also offered a maintenance plan, but when John came, he said he couldn’t do anything due to the set up of the HVAC. I was never told that it could not be serviced when the system was installed.Put technical issues aside, what really upsets me is that the maintenance supervisor called later. I thought they were trying to offer help or a better explanation. To my surprise he told me that my shih tzu mix bit John and asked for the shot record. I asked the supervisor why John didn’t tell me when he was here, the supervisor said maybe he didn’t notice it. How can somebody not notice a dog bite? I have to question their integrity and the way that they make money.

These folks are fantastic! Very hard working and do what they say they will do and then some! The staff from the owner to the installers are incredibly professional!! The customer certainly comes first! They appreciate the business and work for it!!

TOP SHELF - from soup to nuts!!! We had no air during a hot spell in October and Heather from Ross Witmer got someone out that day to diagnose the problem (thanks Heather for the quick response!). JR was quick and very professional - our 20 year old system had a leak in the coil and all our freon was about gone. The next day Jerry was out to give us a rundown on the options - very professional and non-pressure sales approach. We decided to go with a complete replacement of the air and heater. JR came back and gave us a temporary fix to hold us over until they could install the new unit. Steve and Markus then did an incredible job installed and calibrating the system. They made sure everything met their high standards before the job was complete. Very happy with the work all of the Ross Witmer team performed. Ive had Ross Witmer do work on other houses Ive owned and have always been very pleased with their work. Would definitely recommend them. One more thing, they dont try to sell you unnecessary items and this is a blessing these days.

My 92 year old auntie had been out of heat for 4 days...calling companies that charge too much or dont work on oil furnaces...people saying they will look at it and never show upI googled it...seems when you run out of oil the furnace has to be reset and air drained out of oil line...a friend of hers called Ross Witmer...they came when they said..the tech was super friendly and all over in about 10 minutes...Wow...Ill be calling to set up maintenance because the are one of the few companies in Charlotte that still work on oil furnaces...the were a life saver...Thank you So much

I have 3 children 3 years old and under. When we lost heat to our house at 11 pm last night, I was very concerned for the safety of my family. After some quick research, I called Ross & Witmer. Within an hour, Jonathan was at my house. He was dedicated to resolving the issue even though it was 20 degrees outside and I interrupted his holiday weekend. It turns out that we needed a new fan that wasnt available on his truck. Instead of brushing us off until next week, he spent New Years Eve in the warehouse finding the last compatible fan for our unit. R&W has installed both commercial equipment and also my residential systems for me. We initially had an issue with one of the systems in my house but once Scott the maintenance manager found out about it and investigated the history he immediately got involved himself and with his significant experience with all types of systems diagnosed the issue, ordered the necessary parts and get them installed. In other words he took ownership of the issue and saw it all the way through to completion which is rare these days. Thank you Scott and R&W for standing behind what you sell. I really appreciate it and will make sure you have all of our buildings service and new equipment work.

Shelled out over $14k for a completely new ventilation system and hvac unit. it took them about a week to complete which wasnt really the problem...the problem is that they didnt do a bunch of things correctly and it failed inspection before it even started. didnt hear from them until later the following day after inspection and they didnt even know they failed (eventhough inspector sent them a report). they were even here the day before inspection bc they had wires exposed from unit to our main electrical box!!! then once we got them on the phone to talk about their failures, they scheduled us for 8am the next day and are already an hour late!!! still waiting for technician but do not have high hopes about us passing inspection again since they had two tries and failed already and are now late for their 3rd try. extremely dissatisfied!

Jerry is one of the most knowledgeable technicians we have had in our 31 years with Ross and Witmer and was very willing to share his knowledge. Our blower wheel which had not been cleaned since Ross and Witmer has been servicing our unit (since 1985) badly needed a cleaning. He took a photo and showed us the blower itself and we were glad to have it cleaned. He also suggested we replace the capicitator motor starter. Ours was low on energy. And so as not to drain the motor un-necessarily we agreed to that. In addition, he suggested an annual agreement that will save us money and also save us some on repairs.So, we are grateful to Jerry and his knowledge and expertise.And we can tell a difference in the performance and efficiency of our unit already. Nothing but a positive experience. A/C went out in 98 degree weather late Friday afternoon. Our normal HVAC company was unable to get out until Monday. We called Ross and Witmer around 9am Saturday and they were onsite before lunchtime, with only a small and reasonable after hours charge. Our technician, J.R., was the highlight of the experience and was personable, professional and efficient - even while working on our exterior unit in hot, humid mid-day weather on a Saturday! He is the reason we will likely sign up for a service contract this fall.

Our 1st floor ac unit was not cooling properly so I called R & W the next morning. They sent a technician (Pat) out that afternoon as planned. He checked out both our systems and found the problem was a bad starting capacitor that was not letting the compressor run. He replaced the failed part and also mentioned that our 2nd floor system was not showing the recommended temperature drop across the cooling coil. While it was cooling, this meant that it was running longer than necessary to satisfy the thermostat. I asked him to add the correct amount of refrigerant to bring the temperature to spec. Pat did a thorough and professional repair and was very nice in explaining the problems and offering solutions. We will continue to use this business when needed in the future. Great service!

Our system was low on refrigerant. Jerry came out and refilled aystem. Runs better now.

Our 5 year old Carrier system (installed 2010), was unable to cool the home below 78 degrees. A service call was placed with Heather at Ross & Witner who had a technician, Jerry McSwain, visit our home the same day. Jerry was able to get the cooling system back up an running by adding more refrigerant. He did diagnose that there was a leak in the Carrier evaporator which was the reason the system was unable to cool down the home. Jerry said that he would order a new factory evaporator, remove the defective evaporator and install the new unit. All the work was completed within two business days by Jerry and fortunately, the parts and labor was covered under a ten year warranty program. All in all, great, prompt service........
