I wouldn’t get an extended warranty. They won’t send their own people and send a 3rd party. It’s terrible that I begged them to send someone from their company. Apparently they sent someone locally who doesn’t answer their phone or respond. When they actually come to your house they won’t do an assessment and make assumption. Don’t recommend them. I ended up hiring someone to get the job done. So Sears if your reading this, take out Pelican Appliance repair from your vendor and hire vendors who care about the customer. If not, you will go bankrupt and your reputation will continue to be ruined.By the way, Sears will want you to get an extended plan. What a joke!!! You can’t take care of refrigerator. What makes you think you can take care of all my appliances? Waste of time and effort. Please for the customers, don’t waste your time. Get your appliance and pray that it doesn’t break. Might as well buy a new one instead of a used one if you are worried about it breaking down.

Kenmore Elite refrigerator, compressor failed in May. it took two weeks for Sears to send a technician. It took another two weeks for parts to arrive. Then the technician didnt come and would not answer my calls. Going through Sears Appliance repair, I subsequently made 5 appointments for repair. Each time, the technician didnt call and didnt show. I called Sears about it each time and they just rescheduled. So now its August 1st and my refrigerator is still broken. The compressor is still sitting on my kitchen floor, waiting for a tech to come and install it. Service is scheduled (for 6th time) for tomorrow, so well see how that goes, but Im dubious that it will actually happen.

The guy, Jose, came to the house. Very nice, replaced the ice maker and ordered a switch for freezer lights. I called several times to let someone know that my ice maker still does not work. Left messages. Came back to replace switch for lights, said this is probably why ice maker didnt work. It has been since Wed(today is Saturday) Ice maker DOES NOT WORK. I called the #for Sears inside the refrigerator twice. Each time a tech told me things to do. I have done everything(even tho I told him, I think the new ice maker is still not working). I even turned off the whole fridge and left freezer door open to thaw it out, in case that might be the problem. That was Friday. I have called several times--NO RESPONSE. I am ready to call again and try to get someone else to come. iIt is Saturday so I know I need to wait until Monday. I bought all my new appliances at Sears about 2 years ago and have the warranty. I NEED THE FRIDGE ICE MAKER REPAIRED!!! I would just appreciate a return call, or text that my messages were received. Very frustrating!!WHAT DO I DO NOW? Lois - Saturday, 10:53 am

Too two weeks to get an appointment. Diagnosed as a compressor. Another two weeks to schedule the repair. Fridge not fixed. Same problem so appears I paid $1K for nothing. Schedule for a follow up diagnosis - guess what! I have to wait two weeks just to have someone come out. When they get here, all they want to do is sell you on the home warranty plan. Why would I want to get a home warranty plan with a company that cant fix anything?

The repair main that came out tired to ‘diagnose’ my issue and gave me a large quote without even looking at the machine. I asked that he still come and look at the unit. Once here it was something different, but still an astronomical price. It would cost more to fix than buy a new one. Blamed Covid on the escalating cost of labor and parts. And one of the issues he couldn’t or wouldn’t even figure out what causes it. So here I sit out the $161.oo with an estimated 700 bill -not in writing with the any details or anything showing me the costs. It was a JOKE! And a complete waste of time! No wonder Sears closed up shop! This used to be my go to for appliances, lawn equipment, abs such. But no more. Very sad day in my house.

Who is Sears Appliance Repair? Continue reading to find out.Called Sears Support they asked what the appliance was and what the issue was. I told them its a Kenmore oven that stopped heating. they said its a common issue with Kenmore and it would be $200-$250 for the repair. Technician came out quoted $500. I wasnt ready to pay that kind of money. Tried to sell additional insurance to bump the price to $290. Again turned his shady tactic down. I was looking for my $250 fix. They charged me a site visit fee of $109...LAME!Moral of my story - avoid Sears and avoid Kenmore. Dont believe me. Do a Google search and learn your own 1 1/2 star lesson. Watch out for the ol bait and screw tactic.Sears say hi to Block Buster and Kmart when you make it to business purgatory. We purchased our oven in September of 2017. In November of 2019 it started randomly heating up to 500 degrees. After numerous repair appointments it is still not working!. They come and fix one thing only for something else to break! The last technician who came made it so much worse that I cant even bake in the thing! I couldnt even bake my daughter a birthday cake!!! He came in replaced the part and didnt even check to see if it is heating correctly. We have a 2 compartment oven and he must have switched the wires incorrectly. When you turn on the top oven the bottom heats up and vice versa. It takes and hour and a half for the bigger part to reach 350 and when it finally gets there it doesnt stay. I put cakes in at 350 and after 10 minutes the temps read 260 and 330. We paid the extra money for the protection plan just for this and i have been having a hard time just to get someone to approve a replacement. They finally gave me a case number amd said someone would call with more details. It should not be this difficult, or this long of a process to get me a working oven!!!!! I am very upset that this has taken almost a YEAR to get us a replacement and we still dont have one. Will never EVER buy an appliance from sears ever again in life!!!!!!!!

Buyer beware! In short, a very poor customer support experience. Im very frustrated.I have a $2K+ refrigerator that is 5 years old that stopped cooling. I have had 5 technician trips to my house over 3 weeks and its still not working. My issues:* They appear to overcharge on the first visit to get you to buy the home warranty. They replaced a compressor, which was covered under manufacturers warranty. The quote on labor was $622.61 and it took about an hour.* Theyve been out 5 times and havent got the refrigerator to cool yet, so Im beginning to question their capabilities.* All communication goes through an 800 number which is a horrendous experience. Its a call center in the Philippines. Youre going to get scripted responses that are of very little help and your have no recourse. One time I asked for a supervisor, I was told that none were available. On another call I reached a supervisor because I was asking if I could call the manager of the technicians in Texas. She told me they have no way of reaching the people that actually do the service work, and then proceeded to get mouthy with me.In hindsight, I should have cut my losses, scrapped this Kenmore Elite (built by LG) and bought a new GE product from Costco.

DONT Buy Sears Extended Warranty!! Now that Theyre Bankrupt, they were forced to Take Care of their Warranties.. Theyve Outsourced their Warranty Dept to Foreigners & they just Play Games & Lie to You! The old Sears NEVER Did That!! They Wont Honor my Top-of-the-Line Warranty I Paid $600 for! I bought a Samsung Refrigerator & a $600 Warranty & 4mths before my Warranty was up, my Ice Maker went out, affecting the whole Refrigerators Temperature. Sears came out & Ordered Parts, put them in & it still didnt work. I called them back & they make my new Appt a Month later. A Mth later, They call & say Technician is Sick. They Closed out my Order & Didnt Reschedule me! I Called & I was on the Phone for 3hrs while they tried to Code it not Collect to Under Warranty. Another Appt is set, only to have the Tech tell me they set it up as Collect, So I have to get $149 from You right now or I have to Leave & Ill mark the Ticket Not Home. So We had to Reschedule again 1 mth later. I called Sears the Minute the Tech left & they Assured me they had just Coded it wrong & they set me an Appt a Mth later. The Tech Called me this time & He told me they still have it marked Collect. I Couldnt Believe it! They Promised me that They had marked it Correctly in the last Hour Phone Call!(Holds 30min to an hour also). I Call them again & They Say Youre right. You should be covered under Warranty. You were under the 90-Day Rule when the Icemaker wasnt fixed last time. Another Appt was Set for a Mth later for a Thursday. A Text Msg Confirmed the Appt. Thursday Night. Thursday a.m., I received a Text from saying the Appt was cancelled. I call them & they say theres nothing they can do, after STRINGING Me along since Mar 2020 to Sept 24th!!!! NOW my Warranty has expired. I patiently Waited 5 mths for an Icemaker to be repaired! I went all Summer With NO ICE! I Believed them Everytime they Set up an Appt that they would Fix it. No One can help me now, They told me. There is NO Supervisor I can Complain to. After Telling Me for 5 Mths, they would send out a Repairman to fix my Icemaker...They Lied to Me!! They wanted my Warranty to Run-out & they just wanted me to go away. Everytime I Called, They Assured Me It Was Covered under the extended Sears Warranty & it was all the Repair Companys fault it was marked Collect. The Repair Co. Told Me it was them. ARE You Kidding Me? 5vlong Mths & You Wont Fix my IceMaker?!? I am going to Report Sears to the Texas Attorney Generals Office for FRAUD. You kept my $600, & Didnt Fulfill your Warrantys Promise...You told me when I bought the Warranty that it Protected me; that It would cover all Parts for 5yrs & if I got a Lemon, Sears would give me a new Fridge. I Dont want a new Fridge, I just wanted my Icemaker to be Repaired or Replaced! I am going to Complain Everyday because People need to be Warned Sears Doesnt Have their Great Reputation anymore!! The old Sears would have NEVER done this to their Customers! [email protected]

My 4.5 year old LG dryer was not continuing to dry. When the repair person arrived he asked about the issue I told him and said I needed to replace the coil and gas valve costs to be about $460. I thought I could buy a dryer a bit more so I declined-he agreed. I called LG to see if there was a warranty on that part. LG stated no but the tech said it was rare for a gas valve to go bad. I called two other repair services and they said the same thing. Both strongly felt my vent was clogged somewhere. The Sears guy never even checked nor inspected my dryer-just took the service fee and left. I scheduled a $40 vent service and found the vent was severely clogged. The dryer works like newWhat a huge disappointment from the Sears repairman. I called Sears to complain and filed a request for a full refund-which takes 3 weeks to get an answer

Last year, a Sears person/truck came and I was so pleased because he gave me all sorts of tips and suggestions along with a complete check. Imagine my surprise this year when a Dish network truck and two men pulled up in front of my house. They supposedly do contract work for many different companies It was the bare minimum--they cleaned the coils and the back of my frig and checked the gaskets. That was it. And I need a service contract for this?--the last time I will ever do that.

Poor initial workmanship: The tech had to be rescheduled to properly reinstall the replacement part, which meant I had to take time from work again due to his mistakes. Although the tech did not appear to rush the repair, he failed to recheck his work to confirm that the installation was done properly and no screws were missing. On the repeat visit, I checked his work and found the part was still loose. The customer shouldnt have to do this for the tech, I had confidence that he would do this for himself, but he failed - hence my low rating. My dishwasher during the dry cycle started to smell as if it was on the verge of an electrical fire erupting. We shut it down and called Sears for service. The phone scheduler looked up our model number and information and informed us that it was out of warranty, of course. We explained the problem and the scheduler offered to renew our warranty for another year for $229 which would cover repairs 100% up to $500, and in the event they couldnt fix the dishwasher we would receive a $500 credit towards a new one.The clincher to buy the warranty extension came with the option that in the event the repair was less than $229 we could call and cancel the warranty and get credit for the difference. The diagnostics alone are $59 and then theres a $50 trip charge. This makes the warranty seems like a really great deal; nothing to lose and everything to gain.As it turns out, the odor was coming from a plastic container lid that slip out of place and was resting/melting on the heating element. I was happy but felt like a moron for not exploring the problem a bit further. I also received credit as they promised. The service from Sears has always been professional, courteous and competent; add the above and you can see why I gave them 5 stars.

This is the first bad experience I have had with Sears Appliance Repair and I have used them several times over the years. However, I will not use their service again since it appears the service has gone downhill. First of all, the diagnostic fee turned out to be more than the $99.00 listed on my appointment confirmation email. Secondly, on the day I scheduled repairs to my refrigerator ice maker, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 1 to 5 PM. I was home from work by 1:00 PM. By 4:30 PM, no one showed up or called. I rechecked the Sears confirmation email around 4:30 PM and found a link to track arrival time of the technician in real time and the arrival time had changed to 5:45 PM, and then when it was 5:45 PM and no technician, I checked the tracker again and the arrival time changed again to 6:45 PM and then 7:45. I was not happy to have stayed home from work waiting for a technician that did not show up in the agreed to window of arrival time and then to have the technician arrive so late in the evening. The technician looked at the ice maker and told me Sears was going to charge around $450 for replacement, which I thought I was little high, but couldnt be certain what all was included in the $450 charge. The technician told me that if I paid him direct for the part and his labor, it would cost less than what Sears would charge. He said he worked for another repair company that did the same type of work so this was not unusual. I was sick that day with an awful cold and bronchitis and of course, did not feel well, so I stupidly agreed to do this but I still wound up paying about what I would have paid Sears and as of this writing, THE ICE MAKER STILL DOES NOT MAKE ICE. I dont believe the technician is a dishonest man because he did give me his personal cell phone number, so I was able to get in touch with him after his first attempt at installing a new ice maker. When the ice maker did not make ice after his second attempt, I notified him that he needs to uninstall the ice maker and return my payment.

Technician showed up on time and was friendly, but thats where his usefulness ended. The only troubleshooting he performed was to turn on the oven and declare there was nothing wrong. This in spite of me providing him with the fault code displayed on the oven which started this whole ordeal. The F2E3 code indicates the temp sensor has failed. This same part was replaced previously a couple of years ago. I wanted, at a minimum, to have the fan and air passages cleaned as well as the pigtail for the sensor reseated. He flat out refused to do any of this saying the oven was working and the air flow fine. But, he was more than happy to talk about and show pictures of his dogs to my wife. Perhaps he should be working in a vet clinic or pet store instead of repairing appliances.

Our technician Lenier was GREAT and deserves 5 stars. Its the dismal scheduling and dispatch service that deserves negative numbers in the review. We were told our window of service was between 8 AM and 12 noon. After 3 calls and 4 chat sessions I never got a straight answer as to why there was a delay. I even got an email after my first chat session at 12:53 that Your Sears technician is on the way. Our guy arrived at 6:20 PM through no fault of his own-- he was assigned our job one hour before he got here. At some point in the multiple calls and chats someone told me an earlier job was more complex and a technician would be here at 3 PM. Hmmm. Really? And no one thought to call, email, text, smoke-signal clients in the cue as soon as they knew their day was derailed to say Hey-- were running late. are you OK moving your window to X time, or would you like to reschedule? The online chat people were very courteous and kind, 25% discount, etc. Not their fault dispatch is not trained adequately to know how to handle problems in scheduling. Im thinking they WAY over-scheduled the technicians, or a technician didnt show up to work today, or perhaps it did take 7 hours to do one job... but regardless at least a courtesy call early on would have totally changed how I feel about SEARS Appliance repair. Id sooner pull out my own wisdom teeth with no pain-killers at all than call them again. They dont deserve amazing technicians like Lenier.

Our Kenmore microwave/oven combo unit stopped working. The Sears technician showed up and promptly diagnosed the problem as a blown fuse. The visit was very efficient, and the technician was very pleasant. I will use the Sears Appliance Repair again, if needed.

While the service man was polite and extremely helpful the actual timing was horrible. It took a week and half to get the service department to schedule them coming out! After they arrived he was here less 10 minutes he told me he did Not have the part. They would mail it me and at that time he rescheduled next appoint 2weeks later. When the part arrived in two days, I called and was told I had to wait for the scheduled appointment. So for a week and half the part sat on the non working dryer! HorribleExperience.

Finally I think our refrigerator is fixed. This is the third time someone came out but unfortunately we had to pay the first and third time for our repair just because the time frame expired. But if they had figured out the issue the first time we wouldnt have had the problem. I will be arguing having to pay! Thank goodness this repair man figured out the issue!

I have never dealt with such incompetence in my life. One of our crew while installing a product scratched the refrigerator door so I called sears and was told to order the door and then call for the installation. When the tec came out he said that he could not install the part because he didnt order it. After spending over 4 hours on the phone I had to ship the door back so that they could send out the door under the service tec,s order at the cost of triple the price. they rescheduled 3 time with the homeowner and it took 2 months to get the problem corrected. The level of stupidity on the customer service people from what ever country they are in is surpassed only by their ignorance. Anyone who uses Sears service I feel sorry for. I know I never will again.

If I could rate a negative I would. Our refrigerator broke on August 6. 4 different service visits from Sears repair and WE ARE STILL WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR!! That is 4 full weeks (28 days). The next service visit with more parts to be mailed is set for next Wednesday, ONE FULL WEEK AWAY.We own all Sears appliances but this may just drive us to a new place. We have all had bad service but this has been the worst (this is Wal-Mart caliber bad).

Our freezer malfunctioned on July 13, 2017 and we called Sears and requested a service tec to come and inspect it per our maintenance agreement. They said the earliest that someone could see it would be July 24, 2017, (13 days from the time it went out). We advised them that we would not be home the week of July 24 and needed someone sooner. Sears said there was no one available any sooner. We placed numerous calls to the Sears service center in effort to get quicker service but it didnt happen. In the mean time our food in the freezer defrosted and it had to be discarded. We were advised that we have a $300.00 food spoilage claim and we could file a claim after it was inspected. They advised us that if we left an alternative phone number with someone that they would call that number and that person would let them inspect the freezer. I followed their instructions. Their tec never got the alternative phone number and we he called our home he didnt get a answer. He arrived and left his business card. We called the service center and we were advised that it would another two weeks before anyone could inspect the freezer. We asked them why the tech didnt receive the alternative ph. number and their response was they gave it to him. Neither the tec or the service center accepted the blame. The tech finally got to us on Aug 7, 2017 and he inspection indicated there was nothing wrong with he freezer. However there was a red warning light and a message that it was running high. He said that was probably because it had been turned off for quite awhile and it didnt have enough time to completely cool down to it;s normal zero temperature, We advised him that we turned off the freezer so the the compressor wouldnt burn up and turned it on about 8 hours be arrive as we were instructed to do. He felt the initial problem was that it may have overheated as it was in our garage with little air flow to the back of the freezer. We explained to him that we have had this freezer in our garage in that same location for over 10 years with no problems. He said he would report his inspection to his boss and submit a food claim loss. On Aug 8, 2017 we submitted the claim and we were told that we would have a response within two business days. After 7 days without a response we called the claim department and were told the food claim was denied because the tech couldnt find anything wrong with the freezer. They said we could get another re-inspection but it may take another 2 weeks. They offered me $50.00. I guess it was for the inconvenience that we encountered. We finally just gave up with Sears and the maintenance contract that we have and requested that they cancel the contract and give us a refund on the unused time before it expired. We are suppose to get $75.43 in about 20 days. The freezer is maintaining a zero temp but occasionally when we open the door for a few minutes, the temp will rise about 10 degrees . This shouldnt be happening. If we continue to experience problems with the freezer, we will probably dispose of it and get a new one, In our opinion Sears won this claim in an very unprofessional matter. As you can imagine we have a very bad taste with Sears. While our experience probably doesnt phase Sears we hope if your other readers read the review they may think twice about purchasing a Sears maintenance contract.

There was no repair, on the 12th of september.. There was no repair at all. My TV has be broken since the middle of May 2017.. here we are over half way through September and its still not fixed. Customer Solutions is a Joke, Sears Warranty is a Joke, Sears executive complaint dept is a Joke. And they only schedule repairs for the entire Austin area 1 day of the week with only 1 repair guy for the ENTIRE AREA. And when they do schedule your time frame is 8am to 5pm, with a 30 min lead time. Ive been burned twice all ready. Now they say we are going to give you a new tv to exchange, but not until the tv repair man looks at the tv that he took pictures of and says yes its broke, And the tv screen that is suppose to be ordered is on back order until whenever. What is the point of having paid extra for the extended warranty if all we get is way below customer service and the run around.
