Excellent school! Professor Tony is an amazing instructor with a very high level to detail in training! Class is ran excellent with many different classes available each day! Very clean environment! People are amazing with very good students! I moved over here from Massachusetts, from an MMA school, and now that Im getting older Im going to concentrate on just BJJ and I couldnt have found a better place! Its a good training day when you fog up the windows!
If youre looking for a great workout, self-defense, and an outstanding environment with good people, this is the gym for you. I started training at Casarez seven months ago and it has been one of the best decisions I have made. After getting out of the army, I was looking for a place to train and stay fit. I was lucky I found Casarez BJJ. Tony, the owner and professor, ensures that each student is trained to a level that suits their needs. The thing that attracted me to joining the most was the environment. Everyone is very welcoming. No one is there to prove how tough they are. Members will quickly welcome you in and senior belts will take the time to help lower belts learn everything they need to be successful.I truly could not imagine a better gym for the value, quality, and all around great group of people.
I feel so happy and blessed that I found Casarez BJJ after moving to Cary from NY. I must have looked at and contacted 20 academies in Wake County after I moved, but Casarez was the first to make things easy and make me feel welcome. There was a vibe from the conversation that made me try Casarez first, and Im so glad I followed my gut.It turns out, there was no need to try anywhere else. I signed up here the first day and couldnt be happier. Once again, the vibe and gut feeling just told me I found my new home, and Im so glad it did. Ive had the honor of training at some of the best academies in the country with some of the best professors/coaches and training partners around, and I can tell you Team Casarez stacks up with the very best.Professor Tony has been teaching me things the past 7 months that I never even fathomed in my previous 6 years of training. To be learning new details at this stage of my training is extremely refreshing. He sets an amazing example for this students... He is open minded, kind, intelligent, successful, a great dad and family man, calm, confident, has a great attitude and is always smiling.. He trains hard, has multiple titles, received his black belt from one of the best ever, and still competes with everything on his plate. Most importantly, hes an amazing teacher and coach. The academy is always clean and fresh looking, has good music playing, and like I said just has a great positive energy to it. The sign up process, keeping track of your progress, and booking classes is so easy with their awesome software and member portal (something I havent seen at any other academies). If youre looking for a BJJ academy or just self defense, if youre experienced or a beginner, if you just want a fun way to excercise and lose weight, if you have any curiosity about martial arts at all.... take my advice, look no further, and come in for a free trial!
I absolutely love this place! I came in without any experience and they were very professional and methodical in starting me out! The trainers are you extremely professional and very helpful at all times. Any questions you have they will never fail to answer! Overall a great community and great price for the fantastic level of coaching and training they provide!
Great place to train and learn. I was blown away how friendly everyone was. The teaching methodology is amazing. Im so happy we found this place. My wife and I train here and couldnt be happier. A real family atmosphere. The professionalism and technology leveraged here is top notch! I highly recommend. Come train. 5 stars :)
Best in the Triangle. High value instructors and a great group of people from diverse backgrounds to learn from and train with. Even early on two weeks in, I felt like part of the family. Tony is very high level and detail oriented - hard to find guys like him to train under.
Wonderful place to train. Tough and friendly training partners that are always eager to help. Coach Tony is very knowledgeable and is great at helping you get better at your specific style while also not losing sight of the fundamentals. Highly recommend.
Ive been attending classes at Casarez BJJ for a few weeks now and I must say my expectations have been blown out of the water! I came in with no experience and immediately felt right at home. The community is very welcoming and everyone is so helpful when I have questions. The coaches are great teachers and you can tell that they are all very passionate about what they do. If youre in the triangle area and are considering starting BJJ, this is absolutely the place to be!
Amazing BJJ gym. I have been training over 11 years, this last year I moved to NC and joined this gym. The instruction is very clear and technically sound. The people are incredibly friendly, and it is possibly the cleanest gym I have ever been to. Cant say enough about it!
Ive been coming here for just over a year now and I have to say this is one of the best environments to train in. Everyone at Casarezs BJJ care about the well being of the class. Everyone does their best to raise their peers to get better. This kind of behavior keeps people motivated to keep training. The Teacher does a lot outside of the gym for the students. For example when I competed in my 1st tournament the teachers came, did warm ups and provided food to keep the people competing fresh and ready to go.
Great place to learn Jiu-Jitsu, Tony, Ted, and Fern along with the other instructors help the students get acclimated to class and the technical aspects of BJJ.Highly recommend!!!!!!
Tony and his classes are top in the area for sure! Unfortunately I was only able to attend for 3 months because I had to relocate for work. Very professional, very clean, and great group of people. When I travel to the RDU area I will stop in for sure. I highly recommend this place to anyone at any experience level! Thanks again Tony!
I had a great time at Lepri BJJ Raleigh North Carolina. I came here for a last-minute seminar and was really impressed by the turn out and support from the students and staff. Everyone was eager to learn and the environment was great. If you’re in the area and you’re looking for a new academy to make your home or just visiting please give Casarez/LepriBJJ Raleigh a visit.
Great school taught by awesome instructors. The culture of this school makes me feel at home!!
Ive been here since September and I cant imagine going anywhere else. The environment is second to none, and that starts from the top. Tony is an incredible instructor who genuinely cares about his students progress. The atmosphere is very friendly, not intimidating at all (even for a newbie like me). Cant recommend this place enough!
Such a good environment! Tony is a great instructor who maintains a family friendly culture and super welcoming atmosphere. The instruction is great, and the fellow students are all ready and willing to help where they can. If you’re looking for a place to train in the Raleigh/Durham area, this place needs to be on your list!
Disclaimer: I attended Casarez BJJ for a year starting summer of 2019. I was, and remain, a white belt. I no longer attend but hope to be a member again in the future. This place is top notch for a number of reasons.First, the head instructor, Tony. A class act who facilitates an environment that is warm and welcoming to all. Truly a place where I felt comfortable being a complete beginner and where I could see people who, not that long ago, were in my shoes and were now winning competitions and helping the new white belts like myself learn the ropes. The place is diverse, too, with numerous women and people from different backgrounds. This is not a place full of a bunch of toxic dudes who want to choke you out to prove something to themselves. Everyone trusts in the system and their coach and the mutual respect between students here is unmatched.I attended as an adult, but saw some of the kids program. Tony was patient and kind with the children but also didnt lose his air of authority. Truly this is a place where everyone recognizes his skill and respects his role as their teacher. If I had a child and wanted them to learn a martial art, not only would I choose BJJ, but I would choose this dojo solely because of Tonys skill with teaching children. For people considering attending or having their child attend, you must. If you have experience in the art, you will quickly see how legit this place is. If you are new and are having trouble discerning that, trust in the atmosphere and know this a dojo that will facilitate your growth if you are humble and wanting to learn.
I was visiting the Cary area last week and ended up taking my whole family 3yo, 6yo, and myself. Tony was very impressionable and welcoming to everyone coming in for the day. We felt right at home after 10 minutes there. The family atmosphere he was able to create in his gym is exactly what makes BJJ enjoyable for us. The kids instruction felt very personalized with the number of instructors they had available to help the kids. The adult instruction was fast paced, but very informative. I enjoyed the breakdown of positions and explanation of circumstances to in which each position would be most useful. We didnt get full rolls in at the end of class, but specifics were fast paced and fun. Higher ranked members of the gym used opportunities to pass on their knowledge.
Tony is a great instructor. He cares a great deal about his students. It’s evident by his classes. Very knowledgeable and highly recommended!!
Wonderful place to train jiujitsu!I moved to North Carolina with my family back in September and needed a place to continue my jiujitsu journey. After emailing Tony, I came in for a trial class to check out the environment. I was very happy to discover a great atmosphere.Tony is a caring person who is also very passionate about teaching. He is easy to talk to and makes you feel right at home in his school. There are classes everyday ranging from structured to informal training. The kids classes are always packed and have multiple adults helping out.For the adult classes, there is something for everyone. If youre a casual training kind of person, you can learn a lot and get in a great workout with zero pressure. If you enjoy competing, there are tougher training sessions and some tough folks there to help you get better.I have a ton of fun here! Super happy that I found this place 😊
Great gym with a really friendly vibe. Challenges you while keeping things fun. If you are thinking about taking up jiu jitsu, definitely stop in. Tony is a fantastic instructor.
I definitely recommend Team Casarez. World class instructors and also an excellent place to evolve your Jiu Jitsu skills.
Best BJJ in Triangle
Welcoming atmosphere. Great coaching. Tough students. It’s a high level gym, but designed for everyone.
I came in from out of town. I participated in both the fundamentals and advanced classes offered that evening for the same mat fee. Everyone there was extremely friendly and made feel appreciated by choosing to train with them over the other options in the area. Great people, great place, couldnt be more satisfied.
Tony is the man, and one of the most compassionate people I have met in my life. At this academy youll learn excellent Jiu-Jitsu for whatever your goals are (self defense, competition or simply for fitness) and youll be welcomed into a great family friendly environment. Tony will welcome you; not to mention he is a great competitor and Lucas Lepri black belt himself.
There are a lot of BJJ options in the Raleigh-Durham area. I settled on Casarez BJJ for a couple of reasons: (1) They have the best schedule, so if youre busy, this place best supports your lifestyle so you dont have to miss class...that equals more value for your money. (2) The owner/professor/head instructor lives and breaths BJJ. He is encouraging, and offers insights in all areas of health...diet, exercise outside of BJJ, to be physically and mental fit. (3) This school puts your BJJ journey in your own hands. Theres a schedule posted online, but theres more. So long as there isnt another class immediately after yours, the instructor welcomes everyone to continue to train at their own pace after he formally dismisses the class. The instructor basically hangs around as long as students want, which essentially translates into private lesson quality (if you dont already know, private lessons are expensive). (4) The instructor encourages students to compete, but doesnt pressure. When students choose to compete, he is right there with them during the match to coach.
Great facility! Tony and his staff provide a great experience.
Tony Casarez is an amazing instructor with a great facility and extremely friendly students. If you are in the area and are looking for jiu jitsu this is the place you should train.-Brandon
A great gym with high level technique and very friendly people.
Tony is the most humble, detailed and kindest/ caring instructor you will ever meet. He truely shows his passion and love for this martial art/ lifestyle through his teachings. He is a student of the great 6x world champion Professor Lucas Lepri, so his techniques are legit and proven to be effective, either it be self defense or sport. Being a part of this family has changed my life for the better.
Tony is an excellent instructor and the training there is great. The kids program is excellent and everyone was super nice.
A great place for kids to learn BJJ technics. Awesome coaches and excellent class mates!
I visisted Tony’s gym and was very impressed with how welcoming everyone was. I never felt out of place and really enjoyed the experience. I highly recomend you guys check this gym out.
I’ve been going here for almost two years now and I love it. Nice people, very welcoming and positive environment.
I cannot say enough good things about Tony, all the instructors, and the entire school. My wife and I have learned so much with such a great group of people. You feel like a BJJ family in there. The instruction is top notch, and without a doubt I would recommend it to anyone interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the Cary NC area. They offer both GI an NoGI classes throughout the week which is nice for someone with a busy schedule. Plus as a Lucas Lepri Affiliate you have seminars from some of the best in the world throughout the year. I just recently started taking the Capoeria classes there as well which has been a blast.
Tony is a great person and makes you feel like family and so thats way I am going to join
From a novice -I began training here in early June, so only about a month in. I have felt comfortable and I have trust that the people around me are concerned about my safety and my growth as an athlete. There is real pride in the work Prof. Tony Casarez and his associate instructors are doing at Logos BJJ/Lepri BJJ Raleigh.Hopefully I will remember to update this review once I have the experience worthy of a proper review but I wanted to make it clear to anyone with nerves about beginning a new sport or learning to defend themselves - this place stands out in the Triangle for the strong, reassuring welcome they provide and (from my beginner perspective, having learned everything I could about the pedigrees of the trainers in central North Carolina) the best available technical instruction.Best wishes...
