I would rate zero stars if I could. Stay far, far away from Paul and this shop.Paul appears personable and friendly at the start, but is one of the most mal-intentioned, dishonest, unreliable, uncommunicative mechanics Ive ever encountered.1. I brought an old BMW in for a driveshaft and timing belt service. Paul took 5 weeks to complete what shouldve taken a few days at the most - leaving my car to rot in the back of his disheveled shop. During the 4th week, I gave him an ultimatum over the phone that I would just get the car towed away, which prompted him to complete it. I was prepared to lose money after no work had been performed just to rid myself of ever dealing with him or seeing him ever again.2. Paul sent me down the street to get my car smogged and conspired with the smog shop to upcharge me beyond their normal rates. I felt like a target.3. Paul sold a BMW 325e to my friend that was badged as a 325i and he passed the car off as a 325i. Hes literally a liar and a scam artist. When my friend demanded his money back, Paul gave him some cash back and made my friend sign a piece of paper demanding my friend not leave a negative review on Yelp. Im leaving that review here for him.4. During one of my visits, he was getting audited by some governing body. That kind of tells you a lot about how business is done here.Please do yourself a favor and dont go through anything I had to experience with him and his shop. Ive learned a lot about the kinds of mechanics to avoid thanks to my experience here - I suppose thats my silver lining here. There are plenty of reputable, honest, and upstanding places in the bay area to get your European car serviced. And this place is far from that.

Paul was excellent, brought my 13 Mini Cooper S in for a timing chain replacement and clutch replacement with aftermarket parts. Paul identified a coolant leak going into the hot side of the engine, as well as a broken intake hose. He replaced the hoses and thermostat along with other requested services. The car ran far better when I picked it up, the idle was smoother and since then Ive had no issues (~1500 Miles since work was done). Paul showed me the old parts when I arrived to pick up the car, and pointed out why they needed replacing; which I fully agreed upon. Would recommend to anyone in the area, especially if you have a German/European car. Paul delivered on a time crunch and I was extremely grateful for the whole experience.

He’s a rip off. He pretends to replace stuff - charges you and holds your car hostage. He ruined my engine. Will never in a million years recommend Paul
