Star nails is so great. I went to get a dip gel manicure in middletown with a simple French tip... and it came out awful. I decided to go to star nails since I live right down the road and they fixed it for me in 20 minuets and charged me for only 35$ and fixed my whole manicure. Oscar was the man that did my nails and I will for sure be going back there.

The first time I tried Star nails I had a gentleman named Alex, he was very tedious and paid attention to detail; I was impressed. However, the second trip I had a woman named Jenny and although she was very attentive with the filing, the paint job was far from acceptable. I asked for French tip and the white lines were extremely shaky, misshaped and you can clearly see-through some of them. I’m not the type of person to openly complain while they’re clearly busy so I paid the fee & left. I’m not sure I will go back again. It’s a shame considering they’re extremely friendly and clean.

I like this place but i feel like there is a communication problem...i ask for a regular gel pedicure and Ive gotten a different kind of procedure several times..but they did a good job on all several

Got a dip manicure on Thursday by Saturday some nails had already cracked and now almost every nail is cracked. I haven’t been working with my hands in fact I just got engaged so Id like to be able to take pictures of my ring but my nails look awful.

I have used this service before with mixed results but it’s close to home so I gave it another try. The woman who worked with me did not have a name tag. First, the “sterile” instruments were in a bag never closed or sterilized altho she made a big production of ‘opening’ the pack. (I work in medicine, i know sterile packaging) My pedi was rushed with little soak time, no cuticle work and just a quick clip and file. I must admit the massage was lovely and timed. The mani was much the same. I garden and my fingers have a tough life. There was no soak, no attempt to clean my nail beds, little to no cuticle work. Again just a quick clip and file. I had both services in the time I usually have for my pedi. I will not be returning.

Star nails follows strict sanitizing/covid regulations. The service was excellent- Jenny was nice and very thorough, massages are timed so u get what u pay for.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I went there 3 days before my wedding. Was charged $70 for specialty nails. They were nothing like the picture I showed them what I wanted. Then 2 days later, the day before my wedding 1 nail broke. Then AT my wedding another one broke. Its exactly one week later and all my nails have broken so i took them all off. Im so disappointed. Ill never return and wouldnt recommend them to anyone!

Very upset with the service I got. I asked for acrylic extensions full set. I asked for the usual length & shape I always. My nails where done flat & thick, the shape was crooked, and it looked I had over a week of growth, and there was so much acrylic lumps under my nails. 6 days after 2 tips broke off, 7 days 2 more broke off, 8th day another broke & I called the nail salon. They said they guarantee their work for 7 days & I’m on the 8th. I should have called and complained sooner that’s my bad but I worked and wouldn’t be able to come in anyways. I explained this and they said “the manager will call me back” never did LOL So long story short if you want to pay $80 for nails look like $25 nails that will only last you a week, this is the place for you

I think the experience at Star really varies by technician.The first time I went I was not impressed as my technician really rushed through my manicure and it did not last my usual two weeks.That being said, I gave it another shot because it is close to my house and my technician was Roger - he was absolutely fantastic. He takes his time, is so nice, and is very meticulous to make sure my nails are perfect. I request him every time I go!

I went in for a dip manicure and two days later more than half of my nails had chipped and peeled off. Would not recommend going.

Will no longer go to this salon. I was charged $40 for a low quality pedicure. My nails were crooked, I left the salon with the whole side of my nail missing nail polish. When I asked the worker to do a third coat, he was annoyed. Then they proceeded to talk about me when I wouldn’t leave a tip.

This was by far the worst place Ive ever got my nails done at. I went with 3 other people. Everybody has either chipped or broke an entire nail and we just got them done 3 days ago. 2 have literally popped off this morning from realistically nothing. While I was getting my nails done they were way too thick and I kept telling him and he kept thinning them just a tiny bit. There so bulky & un even. They look horrible. Definitely not worth $60 for a full set. I will never go back to this place ever again. Now I have to go waste more money for another set, Id really appreciate a refund. At least I know this set will be easy to take off.

Good clean place. They give nice quick back massages while you are waiting for your nails to dry. Nice variety of different pedicure packages other than just the standard. I will return.

One of the best places to get your nails done in this area. Your manicure includes a neck massage and paraffin wax treatment, which is great considering the price. I love coming here to get my nails done, but the most recent time I went I had some inconsistency. My nails ended up misshapen and my previous gel polish wasnt removed completely before applying the new color. However, that was the first bad experience Ive had and I will still continue to go back!

Great quality, affordable prices, friendly people. A comfortable environment, I was able to relax. Not like Im at a stuffy salon.

I really like the location/atmosphere of Star. But it definitely depends on who your nail tech is. I had a so-so gel manicure a few months ago, but the one I got recently was seriously top notch and has lasted better than a mani from anywhere else.

I am always very happy with Steven. Hes my go to guy.

Ava is wonderful! Have had her twice and she is always sweet and patient when I cant pick a color and always does a beautiful job.

Service is okay, after a while I started to notice they only cared about getting customers in without really caring for their service and just the money. Sanitation is also a bit risky.

First off the place is clean and the staff is compentent. My problem with a first visit is there are no prices posted. I was given a sheet to pick my pedicure selection. Which is odd since we said we wanted a Mani pedi. I thought I picked the cheapest on the list. Only to realize it wasnt the cheapest available. It was an upcharge from basic. I wanted a special polish. Which increased the pedicure by 10.00 and the manicure by 28.00. My 92 year old father ended up being 65.00 with cash tip and mine was 85.00 plus cash tip. Then I felt guilty due to two of them working my my nails. If you want to be pampered and can afford it go. If you want basic, dont look at anything and repeat over and over I want the basic.

DONT GO TO JOHN!!! he ripped my off saying I didnt tip him when my sister saw me put down the correct amount of money!!! so I had to re-tip him the money! you get a free nail filer package that my sister got and I did not receive that from john. I payed for the full manicure and he didnt cut around my cuticles and is awful at painting nails in general. He didnt leave my nails under the UV light the full time and the richness of the color came off. Joanne is who my sister had and she did a great job but John is awful made my experience a nightmare.

Place is very clean. I went in for a gel french manicure this week which costs $40. My technician kept coughing on my hands and my nails chipped within 24 hours. He also seemed to skip a few steps when working on the cuticles. I will not be coming back.
