Always find something that doesnt need to be changed wrong with the car. Once quoted me 750 to change a carborator only to find they were gonna have a local guy rebuild part of it for about 100

We just left Rideouts and we are so pleased to get a replaced transmission, new rotors, new axle and other minor fixes for fair amount less than another shop already braced us for. This happens every time I’ve sent someone there or we go (we always get second opinions) and Rideout’s always “wins”. I thought it was about time I give a little well-deserved credit! Had a prior positive experience with this shop but today my wife went there and had a totally different experience. The guy started by not even bothering to even answer the door because he was too busy browsing Facebook. Then during the inspection he pointed to a bunch of nonsense as for reasons why he wouldnt pass the car (things that had existed as was when another mechanic at this shop passed the car last year). He finished by telling her what a nice guy he was for how lenient he had been. I will never take another vehicle to this shop nor ever recommend it to anyone I like. It is a shame too because it is a small local shop, and whoever worked there before was actually a decent person and mechanic.

Very accommodating, but not cheap...differential fluid change cost about 3x what it costs at a lube place.
