I was in there earlier today and when I walked in they asked what I had wanted and I said acrylic nails and a pedicure. After I got my pedicure (which looks amazing), I had told her I was double jointed in my fingers and needed to be gentle, she had no idea what I was talking about and would get upset that I was moving my fingers to were it was comfortable. I asked her if she would do a short nail instead she just painted on top of my nails without confirming on what I meant. Semi satisfied with the service I got.

I went to contempo last week and while the staff was very friendly I paid extra to get “long lasting nail polish” and it’s almost completely come off in a matter of 2-3 days. I’m pretty sure the man who did my nails only put one layer of top coat so I’m very disappointed that I spend $60 for my nail polish to already come off.

I went to Contempo nails just this morning around 9:30 AM when they open. I asked for acrylic fills and chose the color black shellac in an almond shape.Shout out to LINDA for doing such amazing work! Thank you.She was so sweet and methodical. She paints the entire nail all the way to the cuticles which I appreciate because my nails seem to grow out so fast. I will definitely be back! :)

Got a mani-pedi done, no-chip on the manicure. They did a lovely job. Thank you.

So I was charged $45 for this clear acrylic fill. I was completely ripped off and humiliated now that I look on the services online and it says $20! She also wouldn’t go shorter when I asked her too. I’m really disappointed because I used to love this place.

I got a simple gel manicure, and right off the bat when I walked in I noticed they had nice music playing, and were fast to jump up and greet me and my mom. When I sat down, like before I looked around at the decorations because I’ve been here before, and they haven’t changed much. The person I had doing my nails wasn’t very verbal, so over the course of the manicure, it was all difficult communicating with him, but he was very kind and did a good job. The environment was very calming and the people there were very nice. The work overall was a 9 out of 10, because executed the idea of it perfectly. I appreciate the time and effort put into my manicure and the customer service I was treated with. I would definitely recommend stopping by this local spot!

I am very disappointed with my service. The person who did my nails was rude and made me feel rushed. I ended up with a color I didnt like because I was pressured. Dont think I will be going back.

I went to get a dip done and he left dead skin under my nails. Didn’t even bother to cover the corners of the nails and left polish all over my hands. Overall very lazy job and I can easily say I’m never going back.

We walked in there skeptical becuase Google didn’t show any photos of nail art and walked out with amazing intricate nail art designs got exactly what we asked for exceeded my expectations 10 out of 10 would recommend. I would show photos but I’m not sure how to.

Decent pricing, very busy salon-- call ahead for groups. This used to be my go to salon in Boulder, but its been hit or miss the last few months.My last manicure they skipped the manicure part and just replaced my dip color without cleaning up the nail beds. When I pointed this out and asked if they had a different price was told no and charged full price.Gave four stars because this was my Boulder manicure spot for years, but no more.

I have been going to Contempo Nails for years and am always happy with the results.

I have mostly great experiences at Contempo and their prices are decent for the area. Only issue has been that Ive had to wait 15 or 20 minutes when Ive made a reservation, but I understand that it can be hard to predict how busy it will be.

Absolutely love this place. I cant go anywhere else because Ive been spoiled here.

Great shellac manicure and pedicure. The place was clean and welcoming. Both male technicians were accommodating, even when I changed my manicure color. Reasonable prices and would definitely recommend.

I went in from other’s recommendations, and I will not be going back. My technician was aggressive, yanking me around and seemed very annoyed that she had to be doing my nails. I also asked for a dip manicure, a dip manicure that people I know received water soaking, cuticle cutting, and a hand massage with lotion in addition to the dip. I did not receive any of these, nor did I get asked if I wanted them. I had to ask for lotion, and when I asked the lady who checked me out she said you have to ask and pay extra for all of these services. All in all, my nails look horrible, and I did not receive even half of a manicure. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Do not go.

I got a Shellac pedicure and it looks so good! The guy spent his time making sure the white polish was only on my nails and the edges were clean! Highly recommend them, and the price was reasonable!

This is my spot in Boulder for a pedi. I don’t go anywhere else. The same staff has stuck around for years and they all always do a great job and make you feel welcome. They are typically pretty busy so make a reservation ahead of time. I love the free La Croix as well. Thanks and keep up the great work!

I was just yanked around by my nail tech and was left literally bleeding and cut in several places. I asked for a very simple coffin shape and she left me with nails of all different lengths and cluncky because she didn’t use the electric file properly. I used to come here and leave satisfied but the last few times I’ve been here I’ve received terrible service. She was so extremely rude when I walked back in asking her to refile them. She literally demanded a tip for her awful work.

Visited for the first time today and had a great experience! The facility was clean and the service was great- staff was very friendly and helpful! I will definitely be back.

I was sitting in a chair for 35+ minutes “waiting for the acetone to take off my nail polish” when they were just overbooked and had no one to do my nails. My nails came out with flaws and had residue around the nail from the acetone soak. Before polish was put on all the cotton from soaking my nails wasn’t removed and felt uncleanly. My entire manicure was rushed.

Contempo always does a great job and never rushes even when they are busy. Reasonable prices and quality work! The staff are always very friendly.

Highly recommend avoiding this nail salon. My sister got her nails done here. Her gel nails were forcibly removed rather than gently soaked off. An aggressive treatment ensued, leaving her with sore nails and bleeding cuticles. The nail technician was insistent on receiving a tip, intimidating my sister into sending her money through Venmo when she stated she did not have cash on her. Appalling treatment and behavior.

I got a set of acrylic nails at Contempo. Less than two weeks later, 4 of them had broken off. I have been doing acrylics for 20 years and this has never happened. I will not go back.

Ive been there several times and have sent my co-workers. Not only do they do an especially nice job, they are fast, the job last longer than any place else and they are very competitive price wise. I work up the street from them and its convenient to be able to always get what I need during my lunch hour. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I think some of the low star reviewers are confused about how nail salons work. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. And for $12 manicures this place is amazing. Its clean, the tools are all sterilized (when you get a pedicure they actually open a new package of tools in front of you) and the technicians are quick, efficient, and good at what they do. They have a good selection of polish and shellac. This is not a spa nor do they pretend to be. This is a very basic nail salon that consistently wins best of boulder awards because they are clean, cheap, and good at what they do.

They went way too fast on my shellac manicure, didnt file down my nails well and got nail polish on my skin. I was switched between three people while my friend got her nails filed in the waiting chairs. Definitely cheaper than other places Ive been but Ill pay the extra $10 any day for a job well done. Wont be going back here any time soon.

I made an appointment for a pedi the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.When I showed up for said appointment I checked in with a little kid at the desk. Seriously, he was like 10 years old.I’m picking out a color and he said to me, and I quote, “we can’t take you right now because we don’t have enough people working. Can you come back at 12?”I was so shocked I just left. What am I going to do, yell at a boy??I have had my nails done for years and have never had this happen before. Look, it was a holiday weekend, I get it. I would gladly have waited if they said, “it’ll be another few minutes. As soon as someone is done we’ll take care of you.”I don’t think I have ever been so blatantly disrespected in any business anywhere.I could be wrong, but isn’t the point of making an appointment to have someone available when you arrive??I’ve told this story to many people. Most laugh and say, “they could’ve called you and asked you to come later.” That’s asking way too much of Contempo Nails.

Mai did a beautiful job on my nails! She took off my outgrown acrylics, saved my natural nails and made them look fabulous! And they are healthy! She was also very gentle and made sure she was not hurting me when she removed the acrylics.

Contempo Nails is the BEST in Boulder, hands down. Ive been to several salons in the area but once I found them, I wouldnt want to go elsewhere. They have the best pricing in town and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They do good work at fair prices and are quick about it, too!

Poor job both times I’ve come in. From both of my visits, their technicians seem like they are not trained properly/ licensed to perform nail services.The first time the nails were not filed evenly and the nail shape was off. When I got home I had to file them myself. I decided to go back another time because the facility was clean and some of the dip colors were pretty, but the second time was worse than the first. My technician was rude, yanked my hand around multiple times, unhelpful, in a rush (even though I booked an appointment), and when asked politely if she could file down the nail she proceeded to say that she “knows what she’s doing”. I got my nails done with the dip powder and the technician dipped my nails in the powder 10+ times. This wastes their product and makes the clients nails extremely thick (which is difficult to file down and make smooth). Complete waste of $45. I would HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else to get your acrylics/ dip powder nails done.

I got a regular mani/pedi - the pedicure was great and the technician was very sweet. However, the manicure, given to me by a different technician, was the worst. It was like the guy hated hands and made it his lifes mission to punish every hand he encountered and became a nail tech just so he could make a living off his hatred.First off, he tore my poor, innocent cuticles out with a vengeance, causing multiple fingers to bleed. When he was filing my nails, I thought he was going to break them all. He also basically scrubbed them off, along with the skin on the sides of my nails. The massage was basically just him punching my forearms and pulling my fingers out of their sockets. Way cheaper than a physical therapist, I guess.Instead of rambling about the details of how awful the paint job is, Ill just say that my three year old niece wouldve done a better job, blindfolded, using her toes.Again, the pedicure was fantastic, which is why I give it two stars instead of negative thirteen, but boy oh boy did my life flash before my eyes when I got the manicure.

Went with my friend here to try it out because it seemed like a decent place. Unfortunately in addition to the manicure they gave my friend a painful swollen fractured finger tip when the woman was unaware of how to treat her cuticle. Not sure what’s worse the negligent and improperly trained staff, or the response (which was none) when we went back to show them. If u don’t mind a possible broken finger tip and this company taking zero accountability for it, this is your place! Wish I could give zero stars.....

All the tools they used were dirty, and the towels were stained. I couldnt use my hands for a few days after the appointment because they cut off ALL OF MY CUTICLES. I couldnt believe it. Ive never had sore nail beds after an appointment. I also didnt enjoy being (obviously) talked about in another language amongst the employees. 0% relaxation.

I’m giving this place two stars because it was clean If not I would give them one. I came in last Thursday and waited about 40 minutes and it took the girl about a hour to do a full set. I was in there about 2 hours. They also were very rough with my hands and the lady kept pulling my hand and cut me once. I broke my nail and called to make a appointment to see how much it would be. They guy was very rude and said “will see” and said I could not make a appointment. NEVER going back.

This was the worst pedicure experience Ive ever had. I went with a friend for my birthday. The ladies doing our pedicures barely acknowledged us, chatted loudly over us, and both did a very rushed, distracted, poor job. My nail paint is thick and lumpy and will clearly not last. I will not go back there.

I have been going to Contempo for a few years now. Their technicians are fantastic and they follow the highest standards of cleanliness. Granted Ive been going to Contempo for multiple years so Im partial, but this is the best nail salon in Boulder. Ive been to over a dozen other salons in Boulder over the years and there hasnt been any that provide same service and quality for the fantastic price that Contempo offers. Its frustrating to see bad reviews from impatient, non loyal customers....not one experience does a review make. From somebody who fequents Contempo and who is extremely picky about their nails this salon is amazing. Also, they always ask about my Mom who comes in about once every six months when she is town. Ive never had a nail place that actually remembers me and asks about my life!

Im pretty sure the other reviews were written by competitors of Contempo Nails. The place is totally fine and clean, service is generally good, and Ive always been happy with my nails.

So they assigned my pedicure to a nail tech, teenage boy, who butchered my toe nails. When I tried to communicate with the him he couldnt understand my concerns because he did not understand any english. I texted my girlfriend to ask her what I should do and she advised me to speak with the manager. The manager replied to my concerns by stating we all do pedicures the same and we do it the way we do it. If you dont like it go somewhere else.

I tried getting ombre nails and they are disastrous I am very sad to say that I wasted $55 on a very crappy nail job. They look like they were done by someone who knows nothing of nails. Do not recomend to you.
